Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams at the “Games of Thrones” Milan Event

Posted on April 04, 2014

Those Stark girls couldn’t be more different, could they? In art and in life, it seems. At least on the style front.

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams (pictured below) attend the premiere of “Game of Thrones” Sky Atlantic Event in Milan.

Mary Katrantzou Resort 2014 Collection

Miss Lady really loves her super-saturated digital prints, because she’s been wearing them all through this pre-season poledance. We don’t mind the style so much. It’s youthful and more innately interesting than roughly 80% of what’s seen on a step-and-repeat. But it doesn’t always photograph well (although it looks fine here) and we’re kind of getting bored seeing her wear roughly the same shape and style to these events.

We’ll admit, though: this is probably the best of the looks so far. Her hair and makeup are gorgeous. But we’d love to see them both sitting atop a black tuxedo or something sharp like that. Just for the change.

Next up: the far more dangerous Stark sister (at least so far).

Aw. It doesn’t quite work, but the attempt is cute. We think the shapes of both the top and the skirt aren’t really right for her and whatever’s going on with her footwear is either cringe-inducing or hilarious. But she’s cute and sassy. She might be able to keep the skirt, but the blouse and the shoes have got to go.

Sophie needed a pop of intense color for either her eye shadow or lips to really do it right. Maisie needed to consult Leda Headey on how to wear leather.

Gurl, take those socks off or wear a different pair of shoes.

    • gayle

Arya Stark you are awesome but you need to get rid of those nails immediately! Also why are you wearing socks with those shoes?

      • Mothra

Winter is coming. Feet get cold.

      • jen_vasm

This look is so aggressively 1980s that I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic and delight in it. Plus I love the character and the name Maisie so she gets a pass.

    • MilaXX

I son’t like Sophie’s tendency to wear busy prints and bad shoes cute or youthful. I have yet to see one work on the RC. I actually like Maisie’s look but it needs a bit of tweaking. First someone put way too much makeup on her. She literally look tarted up when all she needs is neutrals, some mascara and a lipstain. I like the skirt and shoes, but I wish the shoes were black. She at an age where she can get away with that sort of thing. I think the blouse is the big misstep here. Maybe a solid color or less busy print would work better.

      • Glammie

I think it’s partly the neckline. She’s tiny and fairly broad-shouldered. She does not need all that volume (or busy print). So less material, open collar, no socks, less strappy shoe and it would start to work. I’m with TLo on the skirt.

    • hughman

Poor Maisie looks like a Hungarian exchange student who really wants to be a Mean Girl.

      • Fuchsiaforever

        LOL amazing observation.

      • Gatto Nero

        You’re a genius.

      • dickylarue

        Yahtzee!

        • hughman

Dicky, stop trying to make Yahtzee happen.

          • dickylarue

            Hugh sunk my Battleship!

    • Saturnine

In Westeros, the girl can wear socks with her Mary Jane’s. On the red carpet, not so much.

      • Clash D

        It is known.

        • Saturnine

          I really liked the man.

    • Zippypie

Sophie keeps matching her dress to the backdrop of whatever event she’s at. Please stop. This dress isn’t so bad but she’s become part of the wallpaper. Maisie is so damn cute I can forgive the outfit….until I get to those shoes. Seven hells. Did you steal those off the butcher’s boy after he met up with the Hound, girl? She needs some badass booties. And Needle.

    • Fuchsiaforever

      Ugh, oh dear…

    • Leah Elzinga

a cute pair of oxfords would have fixed everything… ish.

    • what not

Ahem. Well. Maisie’s young and playing with fashion, and this is loads better than her slapping on a tiny bandage dress and stilettos to say “see, I’m a sexy young thang”. So I’m on board with this nonsense.

    • clatie

i think the make-up on the first young lady is way too heavy. otherwise, they both look very cute.

      • sundaynightaddict

Yeah I’m feeling a strong sense of DIY makeup on Sophie. Not that there’s anything wrong with that… except when there is.

    • marlie

Sophie looks cute, and I actually like Maisie’s look too, but whoever decided that those socks were ok needs to be smacked.

    • ShaoLinKitten

Poor Maisie is textbook scrolldown fug with those shoes, which look like the teenage girl version of what my 82 year old dad does: black socks with beige sandals.

    • Tanya Wade

Even though Maisie’s outfit is….challenging, her hair and face look great. She’s got the body of a figure skater – very Sasha Cohen-esque. Not saying she should wear skater skirts, but don’t hide your light under a bushel basket, either, young wolf.

    • Jacob Bowen

      Sophie desperately needs LIPS.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

I really like Sophie’s dress – love how the colour gets more bold towards the bottom. Maisie’s skirt looks cheap, but I’d like to see her play Lily Collins’ sister in something.

    • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

Ummm… there are far more effective ways of avoiding a pedicure than wearing heavy black socks with grandma’s sandals. Just saying.

    • Dagney

Sophie could really be a mega knock out, but she needs some focus on building her overall look. Right now, she has pretty hair, pretty makeup, a pretty dress, and Payless looking shoes, but none of the “pretty” elements have punch. She needs…..viscosity.

I would scrub off half the Pinterest eyeshadow and punch up the lips a bit. does anyone need that much white highlighter? Unless you are going all out Bardot-Loren….Do SOMETHING with that hair, either make it more in her face and luscious, or tied back, and then I would give her a pair of shoes that have a flattering, more aggressive shape to stand up to the dress print.

    • Bethany Fairbrother

She’s Arya Stark Mother fuckers! Yeah Sensa is pretty. Yawn! She got her father killed. Macy is such a little girl yet, So back off Gay Uncles!

    • understateddiva

Sophie’s dress is pretty, but the eye makeup is small-town convenience store clerk.

    • http://victoriapavlova.com Victoria Pavlova

I feel like Sophie’s makeup is blah, especially the eyes and the contouring. But the dress is pretty. Maisie has too much makeup for her features to work with.

    • KinoEye

Having seen very little of GOT, my opinion comes from an uninformed place: Does Sophie always look so smug and self-satisfied? I guess that’s her equivalent of Resting Bitchface, since she looks this way in every photo I’ve seen of her.

      Maisie’s shoes are beyond bad.

    • Nika E

      Both look pretty cute.
