They book look good, but I’m more in awe of her name.

    • frannyprof

      Yes!!! Gugu!

      • RussellH88

I wonder if she’s too shy shy.

        • The Versatile Chef

          hush hush

          • Kent Roby

            eye to eye

    • Kent Roby

I want to have a child just so I can name her Lupita Gugu Gaga Bing Bing Swinton.

      • RussellH88

But the rest of the world would call her The Savior.

      • FridaStaire

Let’s give it a go! I reason I’ve got about six months’ possibility left….

  • kfizz

Stunning! Except the shoes. But they’re mostly hidden anyway, and she’s wearing the hell out of that dress, so I’ll let them slide.

  • Ginger

That’s the first Lanvin dress that I’ve seen in a really long time that I absolutely love…full stop. She’s absolutely stunning in it, too.

He could use a bow tie to complete his look and maybe a slight hemming of the pants. Otherwise he looks very nice.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

Great color on her but I can’t stand the fabric. Got to see her play Ophelia to Jude Law’s Hamlet and she is so stunning in person. It’s almost freakish.

    • demidaemon

That’s a really great casting choice, actually. Will wonders never cease!

  • Glam Dixie

Her shoes are fug and the dress is a not so great color but she is managing to pull it off. Two very attractive people and I love her bracelet.

  • Anna

I dunno who these people are but they’re GORGEOUS. She OWNS in that chartreuse.

ETA: And those jewels! I’m dying for that bracelet.

  • Beardslee

Who are these happy and nicely dressed people?

    • kimmeister

I only know who she is because she was on a short-lived JJ Abrams show called “Undercovers” (about husband-and-wife spies). I remember thinking that she and her husband and on the show were both incredible physical specimens.

      • MilaXX

That would be the ever so gorgeous Boris Kodjoe. He’s currently one of the husbands on Kevin Hart’s Real Hollywood Husbands.

      • lundibleu

She was also in Doctor Who (as Martha’s sister Tish) and Spooks (or MI-5 as the Americans might know it) amongst many other things. She is looking fantastic here.

  • Sif

    Baby puke?

  • Jessica Freeman

That last picture, and I’m sold. She looks fantastic in that dress.

  • Sarah

I love that color. I love her whole look and all her accessories excepting the shoes, which are like disco needle-scratch time. He needs a tie.

  • Never heard of either of these actors, and haven’t heard of the movie, but these photos make me WANT to know more! I’m not a fan of the “shirt buttoned up to the top without any tie” look, so I think he should either wear a tie or unbutton one or two levels, but his suit is fine. That dress is wonderful–stunning color, material that amazingly manages to look luxe and not trashy, stunning jewelry, and a smile and attitue that sells it all. I could do without the clutch but that’s a pretty small complaint, especially for someone who is probably new to the whold “movie poledance” arena. PS: I love her updo, too.

    • I just looked on imdb, because I hadn’t either. The cast of this movie is good!

    • MilaXX

Martha Jones, baby sister Tish for those who watch Dr. Who. She also had a short lived tv show with Boris Kodjoe a while back.

  • StelledelMare

Color looks great on her but the shoes are the worst. Not sure how I feel about that clutch paired with the dress. Love the jewelry, hair, and face. He needs a tie of some sort but otherwise looks fine. I’ve been really wanting to see this movie for a long time though.

  • Supernumerary

I have been loving on Gugu Mbatha-Raw for ages, and this makes me feel like all my lady-crushes are totally validated. Gosh, she looks lovely.

  • BlairBear

She has the perfect skin tone for that color . Damn those are two attractive people

  • Denise Alden

Love that color and I’m so so so excited to see this film!

  • Kent Roby

I live for the moment that someone introduces her to Steffi; “Gugu, Gaga; Gaga, Gugu”

    • Anna

That cracked me up, boss unfortunately happened to be walking by (damn open concept office).

    • Noah

  • Kent Roby

She’s so pretty (well, he is too, actually). I really love the photo of her holding out the dress, she looks like Cinderella wearing her first ball gown.

  • PeggyOC

Unless you are Amish, this look is a no. Open the button or wear a tie. One or the other. She, on the other hand, is a deep drink of fabulous.

  • imspinningaround

    Did his tie fall off?

  • Chartreuse is her colour, and whoever told her to carry that perfect clutch with the bit of red canNOT be the same person who chose those dreadful shoes. He’s pretty but I loathe shirts buttoned to the neck without a tie.

    • B_C_J

You read my mind on all counts.

    • Grumpy Girl

Yes, I do not understand the buttoned up shirt/no tie thing either. But my teenage son thinks it’s THE thing. So I don’t know if it’s some trend I haven’t noticed because the only guys I see in real life in a “dressed up” state are elderly gentlemen going to church and the senior execs at the other end of the building. And my son trying to impress the ladies.

      • Does his rate of success with the ladies indicate that this is a good strategy?

      • Jacob Bowen

I LOVE that your son is rocking it. because I totally would if my neck would finally shrink to be proportional with the rest of my body.

      • Beardslee

My 20 year old does this too, only he usually wears a tie. I think he is adorable and I think the ladies do as well – though that is privileged information and I am not among the privileged.

  • KayeBlue

I have no idea who these people are, but damn, they make a stunning couple.

  • Cheryl

Normally I don’t like shiny, but it sure looks good here. Gorgeous colour. I like his buttoned up shirt. I’m not familiar with either actor but they sure are pretty.

  • Sobaika

I’ve wanted to see this movie for ages! She looks so stunning.

  • MarissaLG

Very bold choice for her. I’m not totally loving the fabric of the gown, but that’s small. He looks great. On a different note, I can’t WAIT to see this movie.

  • decormaven

She’s a stunner in that dress. Sir, if the lady is going to go all-out fabulous, the least you could do is to wear a tie.

  • Imasewsure

She’s gorgeous but I really hate the color and the fabric. He’s trying something different but not loving it

  • sienna elm

There should be lots more of that colour EVERYWHERE!

  • marlie

A couple of newbies just about hitting it out of the park! Nice job! His pants are a smidge too long, but it’s not so bad that it’s offensive. And that shade of green looks pretty fabulous on her. It’s a simple silhouette, but accented by some really stunning jewelry (that BRACELET).

  • Stella Zawistowski

That’s custom Lanvin? Because it’s fine and all, but it totally reads bridesmaid’s dress to me.

She and her accessories are lovely, though.

  • frannyprof

I don’t know who these two are, but they are lovely.

  • Anna

These two are both eye-candy. I really don’t care what they’re wearing.

  • ShaoLinKitten

Good lord they are hot as fuck. Whew. I have no idea what this movie is about but now I’m interested.

  • Eric Stott

If he’s worn a good tie it would have taken this up a notch. He just looks like a fashionable mormon.

  • Vegas Girl

In he pic in the right corner of the multi-pic the dress is making her face look green. I’m sure it the lighting, but for that reason alone this is not her best color (in this setting – I’m betting it IS her coloring without all the flashes).

  • alyce1213

What beautiful people. That color is astounding on her and I LOVE her hair.
Sam Reid is wearing the same (or very similar) suit as Darren Criss the other day. It’s absolutely perfect on him, but he really needs a tie.
THIS (unlike Neighbors) is a movie I’d like to see very much, great cast and story.

  • SweetSickeningSchadenfreude

Is he a cheap for-hire Ryan Seacrest?

  • Eclectic Mayhem

Hmm, he’s purty. *goes off to Google purty man* Edited to add: Ah, okay replaced Sam Claflin in this Belle movie. Good lord, I really cannot resist the gingers. THIS is who should play Tommy Beresford in the new Partners in Crime adaptation! Any Agatha Christie bitter kittens out there?

And she’s a stunner. I think there’s just a handful of ladies that can wear chartreuse but she’s one of them.

    • conniemd

Big Agatha Christie fan. Didn’t know they were doing a Tommy and Tuppence.

      • Eclectic Mayhem

Yes, Tommy & Tuppence’s time has come again, now that they’ve run out of Marples and Poirots. Unfortunately they’ve cast David Walliams as Tommy and they’re starting with The Secret Adversary. So not only is he not – strictly speaking – an actor and not Ginger, he’s pretty fucking far from the 23 years-old that Tommy is supposed to be in that story! Gah!

Personally I’m still on the look-out for a whiteish blond, large nosed, 5’10″ish, probably British, early 20s chap so that the Beeb (or someone) can do the whole of Wimsey from start to finish the way Suchet has done with Poirot!

        • For a 20 something ginger, surely they should be looking to one of the Weasley’s from the Harry Potter movies? There’s a whole raft to choose from!

          • Eclectic Mayhem

I think the-powers-that-be just conveniently forget he’s supposed to be ginger; even the 80s adaptation with Francesca Annis as Tuppence (who was bloody good) cast a guy with dark hair as Tommy.

          • Poor ginger men. They get overlooked so often.

          • Beardslee

Fred and George are pretty delectable.

          • Bill’s quite nice too!

  • BLauD

    Stunning all around.
(only wish he had on a tie)

  • Lori

She’s wearing chartreuse satin and she’s totally pulling it off. That’s not even human. I am impressed.

  • Jacob Bowen

He is just perfect. Perfect. And her bracelet is MINE.

  • Danielle

WOW that color is INSANE. I AM LIVING FOR HER.

    • conniemd

Her dress definitely gives me life. What an amazing color on her and beautiful draping.

  • boweryboy

Girl, close your dress! No one wants to see those ugly shoes.

He’s as bland as generic mayonaise.

  • MilaXX

I love her and I’m really excited to see this movie. She has not had much success this side of the pond. I hope this changes things for her. A few folks who attended the NYC premiere said this movie was amazing.

  • GillianHolroyd

    *That’s* how you do shiny.

  • Esz

That colour is truly amazing. Its luminescent! The shoes – fug-town – but can be forgiven. No idea who the boy is but he’s sure nice to look at

  • alyce1213

I just saw this RC appearance on TV news (and it’s incredible in motion). If I hear one more media fashion expert pronounce Lanvin as LON-VON I will set my hair on fire!!
It really isn’t hard, they should ask someone (who speaks) French or look it up, they’re supposed to be a professionals:

  • bellai

They would make a stunning couple. Both ahhmazing.

  • LadyVimes

LOVE this. Gorgeous, both of them.

  • Chartreuse! I absolutely love this dress and colour.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Love how the color of his suit complements the color of her dress. And both of them look beautiful, they’re well groomed and polished. I love a lot of jewelry and she does not disappoint.

  • BluesD

I love that dress, color, and the jewels. Her movie sounds intriguing.

  • quiltrx

Who are these lovely people? Oh wait, this is that Tom Wilkinson movie, isn’t it? Just saw the trailer not long ago, I didn’t realize it was coming out this soon. Sounds interesting, I hope it is good.

  • malarson2

He’s a little too Seacrest Light for me.

  • FridaStaire

Sadly for this beautiful woman, her name conjures for me a young woman beaten to death in South Africa after ‘coming out’ as being HIV positive. Gugu Dlamini. Some things stick in your mind. About a decade ago.

    • That’s a pretty powerful memory – I can see why it would taint the name for you.

    • ThaliaMenninger

For me, her whole name brings to mind Ubu Raw, the updated version of Alfred Jarry’s play Ubu Roi, which caused riots in 1896 when it opened. It’s less awful than your mental image, but not really pleasant, either.

  • Jennifer Schiller

Pretty. Bad shoes. So much pretty though.

  • Susan Velazquez

    WOW. She is STUNNING.

  • Fred Vaughn

Not feeling the color of this dress – maybe it’s the fabric. The shoes are cute, but begging for a more revealing outfit to go with!

  • ThaliaMenninger

That acid green is the hardest color in the world to pull off. Kudos, Ms. Mbatha-Raw

  • WaterGhost

I am looking forward to seeing the movie. They were talking about it on Racialicious a month or so ago.

There is a reason chartreuse isn’t worn more often. The green is reflecting strongly off her face. She looks beautiful, but seasick.

  • NBG

I’m not in love with the color of the dress but she is stunning.

  • formerlyAnon

I do not know these people from Adam. She’s lovely, if short of striking. I like her hair. He’s reading more bland than anyone with those eyes ought to be able to. I would adore her in that gown but for the fact that it’s very shiny and not a shade of green I love. Together, those facts put me right off.
