I love her anyway but I really like the way she is wearing this.

      • jen_vasm

Dress is okay, but I just adore her. Amazing actress and cannot wait to see more of her onscreen. She was incredible in Parade’s End with Cumby.

    • Latin Buddy

For a sec, I thought this was Jessica Beal…and sweetie, that’s not a compliment.

      • Jeremiah Capacillo

Lovechild of Rachel Weisz and Jessica Biel.

      • charlotte

I thought Anne Hathaway’s happy British sister.

      • AC Simons

Cross between Jessica Beal and Jennifer Garner.

    • SophieCollier

Methinks tshirt sleeves was not the ideal choice for this dress, but otherwise it is quite becoming.

      • Sarah

I agree. I really like it, otherwise, but I want a more fancy sleeve – a little flutter, or a loose cap, or something besides “Old Navy $7 T Shirt.”

I can’t get beyond that adorable toothy grin. So cute. And well, McQueen. Plus, it Actually Fits Right. No complaints here.

    • msdamselfly

      Needs a hair intervention

    • ES

I’m not sure how I feel about the dress and the purse matching so exactly. :|

    • http://redheadedwolf.wordpress.com/ Laura Renee

Her happiness makes me happy. It also helps her carry off the dress.

    • Danielle

      She’s thrilled, so I’m thrilled!

    • @Biting Panda

It’s interesting, but not necessarily pretty.

    • Crystal

She’s gorgeous. I always forget how attractive she is.

    • ojosazules

She’s very charming, but how is she making a McQueen seem like a comfy house dress?
Does her clutch match the dress exactly?

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

She’s so pretty, but this is another one for my “why don’t the stylists find out what colour the carpet is?” file. This on a red carpet would look dramatic. This dress in royal blue on the black carpet would be stunning. As it is, she could be a very glamorous roadie, the way she blends into the surroundings.

      • Sam Smith

Yes to this, I’ve wondered as well when the lady stars are sporting a red dress on a red carpet (the exact same shade) and they appear to be melting into the ground or backdrop. This would seem like something they could figure out. That simple white dress Emma Watson wore at the Noah premier, really popped against that ocean-y carpet. Without that carpet it would have been plain jane.

    • ashtangajunkie

Lovely, but I wish she had worn her hair up. Can’t argue with the fit though.

    • RussellH88

I think it works well. She can rock a more simple, elegant look.

I wanted to make a “Simple and Clean” Kingdom Hearts joke, but I think that would really out myself as a huge nerd.

    • kmk05

YES PLEASE. Her makeup in particular is inspired, especially with that smile. The dress fits beautifully, although she does kind of fade into the background.

    • ScarlettHarlot

I love her makeup! As a fellow freckle-face, I always appreciate when ladystars’ freckles aren’t airbrushed away by over zealous makeup artists. She looks polished, but still herself.

    • Glam Dixie

The beading looks so heavy it’s making the front of the dress sag, other than that it’s very pretty if a bit dark against that carpet.

    • Janet B

It fits very well and she looks happy in it, but I don’t like this on her. What am I missing?
It’s Monday morning, maybe that’s it.

    • Anna

The t-shirt sleeves don’t quite go with the Prince and the New Power Generation beading. Great smile though.

    • MilaXX

Meh, dress needs a hem and bag is too matchy. It’s a’ight.

    • marlie

I think she looks pretty fabulous. There’s nothing Earth-shattering about this, but just about everything is lovely. Her dress is beautiful, even if it’s fairly simple. I love that clutch. LOVE. I like how her hair is simple, to show off the detail on the front of the dress, and I love her smile the most!

    • Jessica Freeman

This is case and point that you cannot just dress up a black dress by getting carried away with a Bedazzler.

      • demidaemon

        So true!

    • B_C_J

I really like this. Dress is lovely on her & yet what you see is the wearer.

    • Tricia Rose

It seems a tad heavy for the short sleeves. I’d like a shorter hem to lighten it up… perhaps a little less gem work too. However, she looks happy and beautiful so I’m giving this a uplifted “meh”.

      • boweryboy

Almost exactly what I was going to write. My first thought was, “Wow. That looks really heavy.” She’s even leaning to the side in the second photo giving the illusion that all the foofaraw is weighing her down.

    • Stella Zawistowski

Not really digging the bejeweled fungus.

    • Julie Chase

Ooh, she finally wears something that doesn’t hide how gorgeous she is!

    • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

I have no idea who she is, but she has a fantastic smile.

    • Alyssa_T_Robot

when bad hair happens to good looking people.

    • lunchcoma

There’s something not quite right about that skirt, but it’s quite pretty and not as funereal as it could be (smiling rather than sulking might be making the difference there).

    • decormaven

Love that clutch! That’s the highlight here for me- the dress is nice, but doesn’t show well against dark carpet and background.

    • Imasewsure

That’s a really boring look considering how much fabulous was thrown in to making it. Keep the sparkles and replace everything else (including the Kindergarten teacher hair)

    • conniemd

I think it’s waayyy too much dress for her to wear. It somehow looks dowdy or vintage, particularly with her hair. The dress needs a mature actress and to be worn with dignity.

    • Sophie

I like the way the glitter in the clutch balances out the glitter in the dress (it’s not all in the same place). She looks like she’s having fun.

    • kimmeister

The rhinestone detail looks like a crab crawling down a nautical rope with an anchor at the bottom.

    • BLauD

Even a rhinestone arrow pointing to your lady bits is just an arrow pointing at your lady bits… Can’t class that up.

      • Jacob Bowen

WAS LITERALLY TYPING THIS! CAN’T UNSEE!

        • demidaemon

EXACTLY. Do not get this embroidery AT ALL.

    • Kelly

      Dowdy Megan Draper.

    • CT14

I love the wrinkled-nose smile! That’s awesome. Feeling it and not caring how it looks.

She could be wearing a garbage sack and I’d still give her an in.

    • formerlyAnon

I like how she’s making this formal dress look like “hey, no big deal” and I love her smile. But it’s all just about killed by the lack of color contrast with the background. The hair is a bit little girl, but it’s a film premiere, not the Oscars, so maybe it was meant in order to bring down all the slinky & sparkly?

    • Dan_In_NYC

My first thought was “Elegant Maternity Wear.” Not a fan. Fabulous smile on her, though.

    • suzq

Had Sarah Burton been able to upload Alexander McQueen into a PC, something tells me there would be a little more to this dress than there is.

It’s not bad, but I’ve become accustomed to seeing “McQueen” and expecting the fashion equivalent of “transcendence.” This falls short from that standpoint.

      Matching handbag too, right?

      • boweryboy

The line has fallen short of transcendence since Burton’s third collection after McQueen’s death. I really had high hopes for her but with each collection I become more and more disappointed.

I’m now getting my fashion transcendence from Thom Browne’s womenswear collections.

    • Gatto Nero

This is kind of pedestrian for McQueen. The embellishment looks tacked on instead of integrated into the design.
Has the dress been refashioned for her?

    • demidaemon

That is the fucking weirdest embroidery I have ever seen. DO NOT UNDERSTAND!

    • Calinda_L

Maybe she should have paid someone to, y’know, dress her and make her up so that she looked, y’know, better. Than this.

    • quiltrx

What an odd McQueen. Sort of an OTT neckline embellishment (going down into an oddly “female reproductive area” section)…then a big ol’ nothing the rest of the way down. I don’t even think the fit (though it’s not terrible or anything) is up to McQueen standards.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

She is just too sweet and freckle-faced for McQueen.

    • SewingSiren

      Love. Very Rebecca De Winter.
