Matt Bomer for Details Magazine

Posted on April 23, 2014

Darlings, here’s your Pretty of the Day. And on a day where Miss Lupita was named the world’s most beautiful, we know you’re going to need some hard-working pretty to bring this one to a close.

This should do nicely:

Matt-Bomer-Details-May-2014-Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO (1)Matt Bomer covers the May 2014 issue of Details magazine photographed by John Balsom and styled by Sean Spellman.

On his role in “The Normal Heart”: “It’s rare that you get to be a part of something that, hopefully, has some significance socially or historically. And then to have a role that changes you? I think that’s the best you could hope for in this profession, and that was certainly the case here. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same as I was when I started the job.”

We do declare, that boy appears to have a talent for working a shiny suit.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! He is so gorgeous and can wear a suit like no one else. Even my 17-yr old daughter has a huge crush on him.

      • Qitkat

And how many men would look so good dressed entirely in the (non)colors of the desert?

      • Kent Roby

The full article talks about how he is one of the few male celebs that have a big cross-over appeal, liked by guys and gals. I’m looking forward to seeing him in The Normal Heart, yet am scared to see him all wasted away (after losing 35 pounds for the role he stopped checking his weight).

    • myandyleigh

“We do declare, that boy appears to have a talent for working a shiny suit.”

It’s the shiny ass that makes that possible. ;-)

    • decormaven

Even with the silly art direction – Nice Man Scrambling On the Rocks – he’s still looking good.

      • Kent Roby

“Man Scrambling On the Rocks”= butt shot; I’m okay with that.

    • MilaXX

The haircut is a new look for him. I think I like it.

      • Nan

I think I love it. The bit of hard edge with such a beautifully perfect face – to die.

      • Chuck Barthelme

Totally better than his too high haircut.

    • M_E_S

I don’t know why they decided to go with an ass shot, but I sure do appreciate its existence.

      I miss the floppy hair.

      • Nikko Viquiera

Because reasons!!! We must not question dat ass lest it’s taken away from us!! Shhh

    • Qitkat

      MmnnffMumblesIncoherently. Falls off chair.

      • SierraDelta

Ordinarily I’d offer to help you get back up into your chair, but in the face of this much male pulchritude, I’d just trip over you and be sprawled out next to you on the floor, also mumbling incoherently.

    • kimmeister

Shot #1: His facial expression looks . . . pensively constipated.
Shot #2: Brad Pitt 15 years ago
      Shot #3: Hello, heinie!

      • LuisaNL

shot #2 totally giving me a brad pitt circa ocean’s eleven vibe!

    • Sarah

I have to admit, I’m fascinated by the concept of rebranding Hare Krishnas, but it was only after I stared into those eyes for a good five minutes that I was able to give that any thought.

    • sleepycat

yeah he never did it for me…

    • Nikko Viquiera

DAT ASS. So.. I… No words

    • rebeemoon

Gah. Just a perfect specimen. He slays me.

    • Jacob Bowen

Love the new hair…and that face, swoon. I am SO excited for his role in “The Normal Heart” ESPECIALLY because it’s with Mark Ruffalo!

Matt, you never have to button any more buttons than that…it’s perfect.

      • Qitkat

Great, thoughtful article and videos. I’m excited to see this film also. Roles like these have come to define careers. Also can’t wait to see him as Montgomery Clift.

    • ashtangajunkie

Face, full body, bum. Details knows what they’re doing.

    • Danielle

      JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL

    • jw_ny

Well hello there Mr. Bomer, and thank you to Details for that gratuitous ass shot! ;)

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

      I love the shorter hair.

    • Vicky

I have a such raging bomer for him, and I don’t even have a penis.

    • Lori

I love the wedding ring in the 2nd shot. I give all kinds of props to anyone in Hollywood who can keep their marriage a secret for 3 years. Good on he and his husband for controlling the information about their private lives.

And lest anyone think I’m being all high brow here, just look at that ass. Dang.

      • Quiet1ne

It helps when the hubby is one of the most powerful publicists in Hollywood. :)

        • Lori

          True.

    • somebody blonde

Well, the last shot was definitely worth it. Thanks uncles :)

    • eowyn_of_rohan

I feel all funny in my crotchular region.

    • Darcy H

“More than just a pretty face”

Ah yes, he also appears to have a pretty butt… among other things.

    • LadyVimes

Mmf. I have such a pretty boy problem. If I’m supremely lucky it’s going to get me into the best kind of trouble one day.

    • FibonacciSequins

I see nipples. Not gonna complain about the lack of an undershirt.

    • lamamu

I love Lupita, but he just may be the most beautiful person on the planet.

    • Anna

      Mmmm. Matt.
I like the way you work it. No diggity.

    • JP

Wow, how did I miss the fact that they were making a movie of “The Normal Heart”?

      Also, dat ass.

      • eowyn_of_rohan

With Mark Ruffalo and Alfred Molina and Jim Parsons! (And Julia Roberts.)

        • MartyBellerMask

Aw, you had me until the parentheses.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

      Oh my……

    • Katz_Pajamas

I won’t comment on his ass because that’s a body part, but he looks sexy and stunning as usual.

    • Wink

      Hello Gorgeous.

    • alyce1213

He’s just too gorgeous, even with that odd expression on the cover and his nose scrunched up a little.

    • dmkava

I am anxious to see him in the Normal Heart. I am not convinced about his acting ability just yet

    • boweryboy

      I get the appeal.

    • SayWhaaatNow

What’s that? I couldn’t hear you over his butt.

    • SierraDelta

Lordy, that man is pretty to look at.

    • Rose_H_Tyler

That last pic is blatantly necessary.

    • marlie

I’m not feeling it. He looks like a cross between Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt here, and nothing like the Matt Bomer who generally makes me swoon.

So I’ll comfort myself by ignoring those first two pictures, and just admire that glorious ass shot in the last one.

    • Clash D

I am equal parts admiration and envy at how damn good-looking he is. LOL. Life is not fair.

    • yethica

I once briefly dated a guy who looked like a light-brown-haired, blue eyed version of Matt Bomer. It was really too bad he was an epic jerk.

    • demidaemon

That black and white shot. All I can see is DAT ASS and I am loving it.

    • malarson2

He’s so pretty that this would normally make me think he’s not cute (think Rob Lowe in the 80s). But I find him adorable even with his drop-dead gorgeousness. If you know what I mean.

    • BayTampaBay

To me, he looks like a young Brad Pitt in the second picture.

    • drdirection

I could have mistaken that second shot for Josh Duhamel. That’s not a good thing

    • MartyBellerMask

Let this be the inspiration for Sausage Friday. This, this, more this.

      • eowyn_of_rohan

Maybe we can just have a Vintage Sausage Friday: Bomer Edition comprised of old Bomer posts! With a little Ewan and Idris thrown in as well.

    • jaims

What in TLO’s name did they do to his eyes though? He has blue eyes, and they’re already perfect.

      • https://twitter.com/actual_grownup aly

They are sort of greenish-blue in real life, I think – it’s not impossible that they could look green under the right circumstances. BUT! I agree that here they look pretty dyed-to-match in a way that is very disconcerting. Everyone knows what color his eyes are, and that color is NOT hazel.

    • NBG

Sigh. Beautiful. I am also living for the pictures of “The Normal Heart” project that are all over Tumblr. Bomer and one of my other faves, Mark Ruffalo, look positively amazing.

    • Agador Spartacus

“You’re so beautiful, it hurts to look at you.”

    • http://theargiehome.blogspot.com/ Gus Casals

OMG, that shiny suit picture. I need a moment.

    • Shawn EH

Well, they couldn’t avoid the desert, but at least they aren’t going the bomber jacket, white t-shirt route. This is a man who likes clothes.

    • Bradio311

He’s about as erotic to me as a vinyl shower curtain liner. I guess some might be in to that though?!

    • stubbornthoughts

klsdguheafjkedlfviodjgkldamfedivgjairgljkefasldf. <—- the sound of drool on a keyboard.

    • EEKstl

There are some men who are so gorgeous it almost hurts. Ouch.

    • kategs

I cannot find my fan! Dammit.

    • Imasewsure

Love this guy and the pictures/clothes are great but I’m seeing too much essence of Ryan Reynolds & Colin Farrell in these shots for my taste

      • Vegas Girl

Agreed! I actually though it was Colin when I looked at the thumbnail.

    • 25or6to4

DAYUM. Does that last picture come in poster form? Or wallpaper? Definitely a “dat ass” moment for the ages. Also, letting my inner comic nerd out here, but(t) if DC ever does a Nightwing movie, they know who to call…

    • SusannaGA

Hey, what’s with the hazel(ish) eyes in the cover shot? Isn’t Matt Bomer famously blue-eyed?

    • Emily

No words, just jaw dropping. And drooling.

    • quiltrx

I swear…in that cover pic, he looks all offended, like he can’t believe you just farted out loud.
And I like that last picture…not just because, you know, but also because it’s so different from the average editorial photo.
