This would normally be the point where we get all faux-exasperated with Maggie and shriek “SEE? SEE HOW GOOD YOU CAN LOOK IF YOU JUST WASH YOUR FACE AND HANDS?” Or something.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is featured in The Edit magazine photographed by Carlotta Manaigo and styled by Karina Givargisoff. Top by Chloé | Skirt by Vionnet | Pumps by Sophia Webster | Earrings and Ring by Maria Black | Cuffs by Alexander McQueen.
“I am way more WILD in my CHARACTERS than I am in real life… It’s cool to IMAGINE what that would be like…”
“I REMEMBER the SHOCK of being told I didn’t cut it… Coming to terms with what you’re capable of is important…”
“The UPSIDE about getting OLDER is the deepening of experience, the ability to be vulnerable and OPEN…”
But she’s had something of a style breakthrough in recent weeks, so we’re inclined to go easy on her this time. We know she’ll disappoint us again on the red carpet. They always do, darlings. But for now, she seems to have found her look. Or more accurately, other people found it and made her start wearing it. Either way, this pseudo-retro-with-a-hint-of-modernity thing works really well for her.
Having said that, we really don’t like that Jil Sander top in the second pic or the bodice on the Prabal Gurung in the last one. Was there a “deflated boobs” theme going on here or something?
