She really needs to go back to being her true brunette. Blonde is doing NOTHING for her, nor is her weird Jared Leto pony/bun doing anything, either.

    • zuzu

And it’s so fried. Is it for a role?

      • Robin

It HAS to be! I can’t imagine why else she would do that on purpose.

      • Sarah

Pretty sure she can afford an Alberto V05 deep oil treatment from Wal-Mart; it would make a world of difference! My hair gets frizzy but I would die before I’d run to the gas station with it looking like that. I basically just want to invite her to a sleepover party at my house and teach her about The Wonderful World of Hair Products because there is no excuse for this.

      • Lollaleeloo

Still smiling at this. Such an elegant burn. I raise my champagne flute to you.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Someone should perhaps inform her that ombré shouldn’t look like she’s been putting off dyeing her roots for a year.

  • skitzfiggitous

The pattern on the skirt makes it look like it’s own diner waitress apron and her hair makes me very, very sad. You are right to hang your head in shame in that final pic, Ms. Mara.

  • Darcy H

Next time don’t fire your hair person before they have time to even hand you a brush dear.

  • Mothra

It looks better on her than on the model, that’s for sure but, dear lord, do something about that HAIR!

  • awtchy1

Love her, love the dress. Hate the thumb protruding from the back of her head.

    • Lucinda Head

It looks like a big toe! Hideous.

  • NMMagpie

My reaction to this outfit matched the expression on her face in the first shot exactly.

    And hon… that hair.

    • kimmeister

That expression looks like Mike Myers as The Cat in the Hat to me.

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

Such an interesting dress. Such appalling hair. Why would she do that to herself?

  • NinaBoo

I literally just finished yoga class and my hair looks better than this.

  • @Biting Panda

Love the personalizing she did with the dress. Her fried, unfinished, hair is a needle scratch.

    • EveEve

Wuh? She put on the belt.

      • @Biting Panda

AND naked shoes. Ground breaking stuff! : )
But I really do like the white, net accessories and a less clunky bottom half.

        • EveEve

Seems like the stylists are moving away from nude and going all naked on us. And I am OK with that.

      • kimmeister

        And tucked in the top.

  • JulieTy

her toes are hooked over the front of her naked shoes!!!!

  • Grumpy Girl

Yikes that is awful hair. And is she allergic to lipcolor? because there is a need . . .

  • Danielle

    That is some tragic hair.

  • another_laura

A different view, but I wish they hadn’t modified the dress. The change in waistline, belt and sleeve cuff-thingies make it more ordinary.

  • Lilah

I like messy hair on the red carpet, but that is just really bad.

  • Lori

Wearing the top tucked in so that the white waistband shows makes the skirt look like someone’s grandma’s fancy apron. Obviously that much pattern needs a toned down the shoe, but surely she could have found something other than naked shoes. I have no idea what to say about that hair. It looks like she pulled it back to do her make-up and forgot to fix it before she left the house. Who in the world thought that was a good idea? She took something that could have looked great and ended up with a mess from top to bottom.

  • lunchcoma

I don’t know if that’s anyone’s dress. The pattern is overwhelming on small-framed women, and I suspect the cut would be unflattering to any other frame.

  • R. L.

I like the dress but I liked the original better. The hair is terrible.

  • MilaXX

Burn the shoes, shank whoever fried your hair and then styled it like that on purpose.

  • LeelaST

Cute outfit but those sleeves demand a more substantial shoe. I won’t mention the hair…

  • Sarah

What’s so wrong with a pretty barette? WHY would you put on all the rings, then put your hair up with the same black elastics my fiance buys in bulk to keep his long hair back when he’s cooking?

    • demidaemon

Because obviously, the diamond barrette was just a touch too far for the lenders after she threw on every ring in sight.

  • Denise Rambo

I do NOT understand these women getting all decked out to go to a fancy event and having their hair look like a dog chewed on it.

  • KinoEye

I’m not sure the hair could be any more wrong. First, the most unflattering shade of blonde on a woman who was born to be brunette; the hedge-clipper cut; and last but not least, the roots, which seem to be in revolt against the bleach blonde and are crying out for help. “It wasn’t our idea! SHE made us this way! SOS!!”

    • FrigidDiva

Between her hair color and her make up it just washes out her face so much. She already has a smaller top lip and whoevever keeps telling her not to wear any discernable lip color is not doing her any favors.

  • Hetha Innis

Probably the worst hair I’ve ever seen on a red carpet after being a devoted BK for the past 7 years.

  • Imasewsure

Great little dress… horrible bush hair on top (and those nude *&%^# shoes again)

  • Myra Amler

    Can’t get past the hair….

  • Sunraya

Balenciaga doesn’t go with ponytail holders. Lord.

I just read an interview with her in the New Yorker, the one with Lupita on the cover, and she does seem like a pretty cool young lady. But she needs new hair.

  • Gatto Nero

No to the ombre samurai hair and naked shoes.

  • Tanya Wade

The toe grip is strong with this one. Also, the black and white pattern is not her friend.

  • marlie

The dress is ok, and I’m ok with the accessories, but THAT HAIR. That’s not a style. That how you wear your hair when you’re on your way TO the stylist to get your roots touched up.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

You are dead on about the hair-that is not styled-or if it is, the stylist should be smacked for letting her client walk out like that.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

It is definitely “I’m tying my hair back while I do my makeup” hair. Terrible! I can’t even look at the rest.

  • Qitkat

    She’s not owning the look.

  • BlairBear

wtf with the hair. Cute skirt wouldn’t pair that top with it

  • random_poster

The white belt improves the dress ten-fold. That’s all I got.

  • Trickytrisha

Not working for me. Another thing that doesn’t work for me is The Humane Society’s euthanasia of animals. No-kill is the way to go.

  • dash1211

When she looked in the mirror, did she forget to look at her head?

  • frannyprof

    Worst. Hair. EVER.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Sad hair. Needs a stronger lip. The dress, clutch and shoes are great.

  • elemspbee

  • sagecreek

What is wrong with her hair?

  • luludexter

Ugly hair, ugly dress, silly naked shoes…nuff said

  • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

Alexander Wang should be ASHAMED to put the BALENCIAGA label on that schemata! HIDEOUS piece of contrived ugliness! Who care what her hair looks like…Nothing can help this designer DRAG!

  • quiltrx

Is there some “worst hair in the world” contest going on that I’ve missed? Because bitch is WINNING on a regular basis.
And just say no to wide-elastic’d hostess aprons!

  • judybrowni

Why why why is her hair ALWAYS a fried mess?

It was fine through Season one of House of Cards, has she since pissed off all the hairdressers in the fucking world?

  • demidaemon

I was going to give her a pass on this, but, really, that hair? For shame.

  • Clash D

Nevermind the dress, she continues to exasperate me with her hair styling choices.

  • FridaStaire

    Good belt depolyment!

  • http://www.thirteen.org/program-content/the-downton-abbey-dish-season-4-episode-5/ Gotham Tomato

Forget about the clothes; do these celebs ever do any research on the organizations whose ‘red carpets’ they’re posing on or are they just so desperate for publicity they don’t care? The Humane Society US is a scam organization. Among other things, they make over 140 million a year and NONE of it goes to animals. It all goes to lobbyist salaries. And they were just caught parking millions of dollars in off-shore bank accounts.

  • Aurumgirl

Why can’t stylists make sure that the shoes actually fit their clients’ feet? Toes hanging off the edge of the shoe front are a clear sign of incompetence.

  • Beardslee

Straw hair, splayed toes. A scroll up and down fug.

  • Nancer

OMG that hair…. that looks like mine when I’m washing my face…. NOT a going out in public look!

  • MartyBellerMask

The belt doesn’t make that dress any less ugly, and areyoufuckingkiddingme with that hair.

  • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

What is wrong with her? Is she having some kind of nervous breakdown? That’s the only excuse I can come up with for going out in public with that hair.

  • AzSportsGirl

Her gays hate her. Only explanation for the hair and the dress

  • Lolo Andre

Kristen Stewart wore this dress before right? For some Balenciaga event few weeks ago in NYC. Imo It looks unfattering on both but KS did much better hair and makeup

  • FashionShowAtLunch

Girl, that’s not your hair color. Nor, I hope, is it your actual hair. That mess looks practically burnt.

  • E. D.

WTF is up with her hairstyle? Hair is fried and is that a ponytail loop?

  • RuthGo

That hair! What on earth is happening with her hair?!?

    • J. Preposterice

I think I did that with my hair when I was 6 and just learning to put it up myself. Boy, was I ever proud. I thought I was sooooo cool.
