Lots to love here, but not a fan of the JBF hair.

    • @Biting Panda

It’s styled cute, no? What’s a girl to do about the wind?

      • Eric Stott

Not sure if that’s styling or just had a hand run through it. Doesn’t spoil the look, but…

  • Michele

I want this dress. She looks so pretty!

  • @Biting Panda

    My kingdom for a necklace!

    • SugarSnap108

Between these and her Uggs, I think she should no longer be allowed to choose her own footwear.

    • holla

This is look is almost there.

  • Noah

Attagirl! She should get that dress in every color.

  • DesertDweller79

    Her makeup is beautiful!

  • Sarah

Film at 11: “Elizabeth Moss is a FAUN! Hooves discovered as she attends Tribeca Film Festival Event!” (I love her dress, and totes would wear it.)

    • demidaemon

Yes, these are some serious hooker hooves (no disrespect to either hookers or hooved creatures).

  • TigerLaverada

I’m confused. In two shots, the area between her arm and her body is the color of her dress rather than showing the backdrop. Is there some kind of awkward cape-deal on the back of this or something?

    Love that deep teal color.

    • SouthernGirlRena

I see what you mean – very odd.

  • dickylarue

Cloven hooves are in! But were they ever really out?

  • Danielle

I… like this? I guess? Maybe?

  • MilaXX

why the drag queen shoes? The dress is fine, the shoes are a fail.

  • alyce1213

I made that dress in Home Ec I, but the waistline was where it was supposed to be. I was hoping shooves were over, guess not. (Hers don’t even fit.)

    • homespunner

Too funny. I scrolled down to make sure my comment hadn’t already been posted…and it was…by you.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

I want what she’s having: girl looks positively joyful.

    • FayeMac

she’s an actress, those shoes cannot be comfortable

    • Cyprienne Zed

      She has that I-narrowly-escaped-dating-Tom-Cruise look.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

Love the dress, the color, the fit … and hate those shoes with the fire of a thousand suns. Why don’t celebs realize how much ugly shoes PAIN us?

  • KT

This is so disappointing. Great hair, lovely face (though perhaps a bit undone), slammin’ bod…. and then the outfit is a complete whiff. I’m pretty sure you can get that exact dress at Forever 21, and for something so simple, there’s barely even a hint of jewelry to complement the look. The shoes seem to have put in the most effort here, as they’ve clearly traveled from 1994 just for this event.

It’s a shame, considering that she’s beautiful, she’s the star of this movie, and the movie is pretty great. She should be working the shit out of something fabulous, and yet here we are. Come on Lizzie, we all know you’re better than this.

    • Daisy Walker

Exactly. Looks like she forgot to put the real dress on over that slip.

  • Violentcello

Not a fan of the dress (maybe it’s just under-accessorized?), but I love the light makeup on her. She looks really pretty and happy here.

  • Nancer

Where is the jewelry? One ring doesn’t do it.

  • another_laura

Like others – would it have killed her to wear a necklace?

  • Chuck Barthelme

Damn! Girl looks awesome, and you can tell she knows it.

  • Mothra

I love the hair. And the big smile, but that’s it.

    • littlemac8

I changed my mind. I don’t like the hair. The color is too solid making it look more like shoe polish than a natural color. Her smile is gorgeous. Why do you have a chicken pic for Mothra. BTW can’t wait to see the new Godzilla. I wonder if Mothra will be featured. I’ll go find out.

      • Mothra

I’m a loose cannon. the whole picture is actually of a chicken being pulled in a little red wagon. I don’t know why. It is just is.

      • Mothra

Also I don’t think Mothra is in the new Godzilla movie. Mothra needs her own movie.

    • Kitten_Mittens

I think the genuine happiness on her face goes a long way to set off everything else that’s wrong w/ her outfit.

  • Carly Clement

loving everything here…. but i think she needs a bit more eyemakeup… bump up the eyeliner girl!!!

  • Lex

I think she looks breezy and adorable minus those shoes which are straight up fugly- what was she thinking there? LOVE the dress and that color on her though! Maybe a statement necklace would up the look but I’m OK without one too.

  • nannypoo

She seldom wears enough eye makeup and I don’t like this dress. So – meh.

  • BLauD

Some more jewelry would have been nice, and those shoes just don’t go, but I love the dress, and her lighter look. She’s just giving off a really happy vibe.

  • Maureen LePiane

love the tousseled hair and dress. HATE those shoes

  • greymain

    jewelry would not KILL you.

  • Aidan B

Nice color on her, and a great shape, but I’d love to see some jewelry and some non-hooved shoes.

  • Ganoc

Does anyone know if they pad her on Mad Men? Slightly off-topic I know, but she looks so svelte here, and so frumpy on the show … or is it just excellent (bad) costuming?

    • MilaXX

I think it’s the clothing she wears on the show. When she wore that lack seduction number last season she looked closer to what we see here.

  • Meg0GayGuys6

Whenever I see shoes that ugly (IMHO, of course), I always think “Those shoes!” in Kenny from Can’t Hardly Wait’s voice.

  • Mazenderan

Am I the only one who thinks that dress looks terrible at the midriff? It’s completely unflattering and makes her proportions look off. In fact, the whole dress just looks cheap.

Love the light makeup. She’s very fresh looking.

    • marlie

Yes. I like the top half of the dress, but from the waist down, there’s something off about the fit.

    • PhillyDeb

I agree witht this. Fit is completely off including the bustline and the midriff. If I were shopping and a dress looked like this on me, I would not be able to get it off fast enough. I just cannot see what everyone else is seeing. She looks like a college student who threw somthing on to go to the farmers’ market.

  • GeoDiva

Hate the stripper shoes, otherwise she knows she looks good and is having fun.

  • rloliveira

Too little dress for her body type. She needs a sweater, or the skirt has to be longer, or there have to be sleeves, or something. She looks incomplete and cold.

  • StillGary

Way to go! But I almost prefer the Uggs to the stripper shoes!

  • ShaoLinKitten

Is that the seam across the middle of her body? If so, it’s too obtrusive and looks like a wrinkle in some shots. I also hate the shoes. However, the color is great and I think she looks pretty overall.

  • DeniseSchipani

I love the color of the dress and the neckline, but overall I think it makes her look wider and shorter than she is,if that makes sense.

  • cstat

LOVE the dress. I want it in every color. I think maybe she needs a bracelet and I thought maybe she needed a brighter lipstick but in the first photo she looks so fresh and beautiful I wouldn’t change anything. I LOVE her hair too!

  • lunchcoma

Oh, hi there, my “sexy” pair of shoes from 1999.

  • butterflysunita

One of the prettiest “no makeup” looks i’ve seen–her face is great. Love the smile and tousled hair. But don’t like the dress at all, except the color.

  • SugarSnap108

Her head looks great. But she desperately needs jewelry and ANY shoes other than those (except for her Uggs).

  • decormaven

    Happy girl, hiddy shoes.

  • Froggae

That is the best color with worst fit combo I’ve ever seen.

  • HerroEmmers

Love her hair, her skin is glowing, and the dress, while simple, looks lovely on her.

But those shoes. They make her legs look spindly and unbalanced. Though honestly, anything is an improvement on those Uggs.

  • AmeliaEve

She looks so cute and happy here.

  • E. D.

The skirt is too short and I hate the shoes.

  • shopgirl716

Black stripper shoes? Otherwise she looks great.

  • LeelaST

Good lord, no. She’s wearing absolutely no makeup, the dress is way too bare, and those shoes…

  • Ron Labhart

The waist and the skirt level need to be 2 inches lower. The shoes are awful. This is making her look stumpy. And she needs a necklace.

  • BluesD

She looks so happy and pretty here. I think her outfit isn’t bad, but the waist on that dress needs to be lower, and the shoes don’t need platform heels.

  • uprightcitizen

She looks like that grown woman we all know who still shops in the Juniors department, IMHO. Those shoes should only be worn as part of a hooker costume, and the dress is too short and needs spanx. As TLo have pointed out, if we can see your navel through your dress, that’s a problem.

  • Shelby

    Oooooh … nooooo.

    But her hair looks gorgeous.

  • TwiddlyStun

    Well, that’s unfortunate.

  • Jacob Bowen

Besides her personality this is a WHOLE lotta BORING. Seems like a bit of a fashion trend today.

  • Gatto Nero

The oddly scooped waistline, which is too high on her, is making her look shorter and thicker than she is. The dress could be a couple inches longer. But I like the color on her.
The shoes are scaring me a little.
Makeup and smile — very pretty.

  • titaness25

Please, Xenu, do not tell me that stripper platforms are back. Them shoes ugly.

  • marlie

See, THESE are stripper shoes. And also, NOT OK.

I think her hair and makeup are pretty, and I like the top of the dress, but I don’t like how that weird seam hits her waist. Also, it’s all SO boring and colorless.

  • Oh girl, clothes should not give you a belly button where you have no belly button. This color is amaze on you, though.

  • Katherine Leay

she looks so happy and beautiful… gorgeous face!

  • Angela

There is a stripper in Barstow that is missing her shoes.

  • malarson2

The windblown happiness makes up for everything else. So pretty.

  • Dagney

well, more jewelry? a belt? The shoes are cute, but they are for a club in Vegas.

  • quiltrx

CAN THE CENTER-SEAM BODICE PLEASE GO AWAY???? I keep asking this and it keeps popping up again. Jesus, Mary, and Oprah, please bring back “cut 1 on fold”!
Her hair is really cute, and she looks so joyful. But those shoes are horrid.

  • Damn, girl. You look easy breezy and awesome.

  • Just no.

  • SophieCollier

That waist seam is in the wrong spot and it’s making all the proportions wonky. That bodice demands a longer skirt, that skirt demands a less blocky top. Elizabeth herself looks great, though. She should work the windblown look more often.

  • FibonacciSequins

Elisabeth Moss has very nice legs. She looks pretty and happy here.

Those wrinkles in the bodice mean that is not her dress. Those shoes would look fine if the platform height were cut in half.

  • Joey Melliza

    Hooker for a day realness

  • Wang needs to do some overtime if this schmatah is what he considers acceptable to a house like Balenciaga? What a tragic mess of mediocre talent!

  • kmk05

No. This is too much like what we would wear, dear BKs: I’ve seen that dress x10000 on Asos. I don’t mind the hooves if she had paired them 1) with something else, 2) in the right size.

Although her face is GLORIOUS. That skin! Those eyes! That SMILE! She is phenomenal.

  • Malibufire

Butterick pattern. Nine West shoes. “A swing and a miss” as they say in baseball.

  • Snidge

oooh, I dunno, there’s something kinda trashy about it but I LOVE. It’s like a punky-porn-star.

  • Nancer

Tits or legs, not both together. You have to choose one area to emphasize. Low neck, longer hemline. Short skirt, more modest decolletage. And some bling would be appreciated!

  • MaggieMae

Despite the protests of the BKs, I LOVE this look, even the horrid hoof shoes. Mega watt smile. She is luminous. Moss is selling it. I want to be her!

  • Valdri8

Sorry, the dress makes her look squat, she needs a bra, and the shoes are too narrow for her feet. Love her, but this is bad

  • Scarlet39

It’s a gorgeous color on her, and I love the makeup (and even her hair). However, I don’t like how it’s making her look through the midsection. Maybe it’s because she’s kind of slouching?

  • Wink

I really want to like this because she looks so happy. But I can’t. I just can’t.

  • ovarB

The dress length doesn’t bother me as much as the plunging neckline and fit that does nothing for her body.

  • Jennifer Schiller

Her hair and face are gorgeous! The dress is maybe a little too short AND too low when combined, and those shoes are a no. Plus I so desperately want her to be wearing an accessory. She really does look beautiful though!

  • Susan Velazquez

That length is a skosh too short and her pumps look like hooves. Nice hair and make up though!

  • Janet B

The shape on her reads sexy tennis dress, although the color is fab.

    • Wink

Yeah… like something Chris Evert would have worn 30 years ago.

  • Jaeda Laurez

The shoes are terrible, and she needs face, hair, jewelry. But the dress is cute.

  • Everything seems just slightly off, a touch too plunging, a touch too short, a touch ill-fitting. Then you look at the picture of her beautiful, smiling face and think, yep, she looks great. And that I need that haircolor.

  • It was crazy windy in NY.

  • KinoEye

Good God, Liz, who on earth talked you into wearing those hideous shooves? This look is a bit on the bland side, but strapping hockey pucks to your feet was not the way to jazz it up.

  • BrooklynBomber

Eek, terrible proportions on her. Great laugh, though.

  • mrspotts66

skirt need to be a smidge longer.
or the shoes need to be shorter.
    either or.

  • deathandthestrawberry

UGH. Platform peep-toes. Burn them. Burn them all.

  • MannahattaMamma

you know, it’s all kind of mess, proportionally speaking, although the lines of the dress are really flattering…but she looks so damn happy that it doesn’t matter.

  • Maggie Smith

When will these awful platform shoes go away? WHEN!?! I hate them so much!

  • smh4748

I quite like this. It’s a great color with her skin, hair, and eyes, and I think the unfussiness of it suits her. She could benefit from a funky bracelet or something though. She has a great smile–she’s not a traditional beauty, but the smile/laugh is doing great things for her.

Those shoes should be burned though. Woof.

  • sagecreek

    I like seeing that smile.

  • crash1212

I love everything about this. The mostly no jewelry is working with this dress the hair and makeup are perfect and the smile just makes it all come together. Until you get to the hooker shoes that don’t seem to quite fit. Having said this…99% of this is totally working for me.

  • JP

    So close…and yet so far.

  • formerlyAnon

This is sooo “almost.” It really makes me think of a teen with decent taste let loose at the mall to buy clothes on her own, with her own money, for the first time. The dress is just a bit more skin-baring than looks entirely comfortable, the shoes just a bit more extreme than ditto.

  • Milos Mom

    How very anticlimatic.

  • Columbinia

The shoes don’t even fit properly.

  • Cassidy Olsen

    Wonderful hair/face, ill-fitting dress. Sigh.

  • Monica

perfect little dress for her. and she looks so happy! these photos make me happy. 🙂

  • Mrs. O

I so rarely see a navy blue tennis dress. What a great idea! I feel it’s not doing her any favors, though, especially in the bodice. Also, I give the shoes a big, “really?”.

  • Kikishua

Man, I hope that wind doesn’t blow her right off those shoes. Out of them would be good though.
