Elisabeth Moss for BELLO Magazine

Posted on April 16, 2014

Good heavens, Miss Moss. You’re beautiful.

Elisabeth-Moss-BELLO-Magazine-Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO (1)Elisabeth Moss covers the April 2014 issue of BELLO magazine photographed by Aleksandar Tomovic and styled by Karla Welch.

On the last season of “Mad Men”: “You really are putting this thing that existed for a long time and that you were a part of for so long, to bed, and this last season, it’s for us, and it’s for our audience that has been with us the entire time. It’s kind of like a painting; you’re putting the last of your strokes on it, and then it’s a complete work of art, and then it’s done.”

On her career: “I’ve been around for a while. I’ve had disappointments, I’ve had those moments where you really wanted to get something and you didn’t, or when you thought you could do it, but no one else did, so it’s nice to finally be like Ok, maybe I don’t suck.”

DAMN, girl. That winged eye is yours to own. We don’t know if these are necessarily the best pictures of her we’ve ever seen, but they’re the hottest. Love that pilgrim/dominatrix realness happening in the Valentino.

she’s really so versatile not just in terms of looks but also her roles….she was superb in Top of the Lake, which was such a different role than Peggy. And that chameleon-like quality translates into these pictures as well. I’m really looking forward to seeing what she does post-Mad Men.

    • kimmeister

Holy crap I wish I had a venue to wear that Valentino!

Also, her brows are flawless here.

    • Jen

      wow!

    • Eva_baby

I want that Valentino dress so hard!

    • NMMagpie

That second shot is EVERYTHING. #wannabeher

    • YoungSally

      Best photos of her ever!!!

    • @Biting Panda

Someone hand me my jaw, from off the floor, would you?

      • Lucía Gavello

I just fell of my chair so I’ll look for it while I’m down here.

    • Sarah

I wish pants weren’t the enemy of Fashion right now. That being said, she sure does look good with that makeup.

    • The Versatile Chef

I’m getting boob sweat just looking at that last dress.

      • schadenfreudelicious

I would chance the boob sweat :)

    • Cyprienne Zed

Those are her angles, those are her eyes — I want to BE HER.

    • Scimommy

You don’t suck, Elizabeth. You really, really do not suck.

    • Qitkat

Never thought I’d see the winged eye come back, but it seems to be everywhere again.
I think I love the Reem Acra photo the best. And love her with the long dark hair. Vulnerable but with a slight touch of ‘don’t mess with me’.

      • Linderella

The winged eye does seem to be everywhere at once, but I haven’t seen anyone really successfully work it until right now. It does wonders for her, and vice versa.

    • MyFavoriteColorIsGlitter

OH SHIT! I have never seen her look so Smoldering Temptress! Go Elisabeth!!! You GOT this!

    • berkeleygirl

The face is great, but I’ve never thought her more beautiful than she was in Top of the Lake. Seemingly make-up-free, I’d swear she was lit from within. (Maybe that’s why she’s since been attached to the cinematographer…)

      • MarieLD

With Top of the Lake, her pix for New York magazine, and now these, we’re seeing a lot of bare shoulder and different kinds of sexy from Ms. Moss.

    • Wendi126

She looks stunning!! Seeing these makes me hope good ole Peggy goes all Julie Christie on those madmen.

    • marlie

Gorgeous. I think this is the best she’s ever looked. And that Valentino is HER dress.

    • Miss wks

      Oh my gawd the Valentino….

    • Dee

Loooovvvve her in that Reem Acra!

    • Evan

I don’t think she’s the most conventionally attractive, but she definitely has a unique look. Not everyone could pull of that Valentino.

    • Columbinia

Sometimes it takes a while for the people who do these things to figure out how to show an actress as beautiful and glamorous. Another example is Kate Walsh. But it’s been an unusually long time in figuring out Elisabeth Moss.

    • gayle

She looks great! It seems like in the last few years she has gotten really comfortable in her skin and it is coming through in her fashion choices and magazine spreads.

    • lynnlee

“Pilgrim/dominatrix” made me laugh out loud!

      • t bell

        Me too, lynnlee.

    • Mothra

      That nude lip is sublime.

      • marlie

A nude lip done correctly for once.

    • imspinningaround

I love the “rich goth” styling of the second photo.

    • TwiddlyStun

Well, put her right into American Horror Story.

    • sagecreek

Or, in other words, SUCK IT FRED.

    • d4divine

Fabulous! Ever since Top of the Lake, MAD respect!

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

      SCIENCE!

    • quiltrx

She looks so lovely! Love the Valentino, but getting a nice Moulin Rouge vibe from the Chanel too.

    • jilly_d

questioning my sexuality over that shot of the Chanel shirt and tights.

    • beebee10

Yes to the pilgrim dominatrix! So perfectly put TLo!

    • KingCrazy

I always forget she’s a scientologist, and then it comes to my attention and all I can think is “WHY ELIZABETH MOSS, WHY?!”

That said, she looks great. Love the last dress.

      • demidaemon

WHAAAT? I’m feeling really torn right now with that revelation.

        • KinoEye

Yep. I don’t like it one bit, but I try to forget about it when I’m watching her work. It sort of baffles me when seemingly intelligent, aware people are part of it, though my devil’s advocate can see the appeal.

          • demidaemon

The only appeal I see is the networking and buttkiss appeal, and, to me, that would not be enough. For those struggling in the entertainment field and married to the idea of fame, then I could see it. Sort of.

            • KinoEye

Like most cults (I hope no one here is a Scientologist…), Scientology preys on the weak and desperate as it promises some modicum of control over your life and feelings. My mom was briefly a Scientologist when it was the trendy thing in the 60s, so we’ve had many long discussions over its appeal and inner workings. But it’s definitely a money-making scheme designed to cater to celebrities, since you can’t really attain higher levels of “enlightenment” without being filthy rich. Related to that, my great uncle was a fairly successful science fiction writer when the genre really became popular in the 50s. He attended a party where L Ron Hubbard was present, and heard him say “The best way to make a million dollars is to start your own religion.” There ya go.

            • demidaemon

              Hmmm.This is enlightening.

      • Glammie

She was raised that way. From what I understand, if she quits, she’ll be shunned by her family. So it’s a little different than the convert category. It’s what she knows.

        • KinoEye

Yeah. That’s my biggest problem with Scientology. I hate the way it tears apart families. Or, in the case of Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman, you have to convert to be able to marry someone in the Church and can’t associate with your family or friends who aren’t Scientologists. There are many other things about it I don’t like, but that’s another story.

        • demidaemon

Well, that’s a bit more understandable, compared to the converts and high profile ***********************.

        • KingCrazy

Yes, I’ve read this as well.

I don’t want to go too deep into it because this isn’t the forum, but it IS unfortunate IMO.

          • Glammie

Don’t disagree. Just giving a possible reason besides being insane. It’s interesting, she didn’t marry a scientologist and it sounds like the marriage broke up because Arniston screwed around, not because he wasn’t a scientologist.

      • SparkleNeely

Where did you get that terrific avatar pic? I want it, for my personal use, of course. Like a T-shirt. LOL Moss looks great, BTW.

        • KingCrazy

I actually found it on Tumblr awhile back!

    • LeelaST

      HATE the Chanel. Otherwise gorgeous!

    • dschubba

Stunning. Why am I supposed to give a damn about a thigh gap again?

      • SparkleNeely

Thigh gap. Ugh. For why? I don’t have one and I’m thin. Why is this a thing now?

    • GeoDiva

Never have I seen eyeliner make such a dramatic difference in someone. Girl That is Your Eyeliner!

    • MilaXX

Love the hair and makeup! This is how you make extensions work for you. Not crazy about any of the clothes except the patent leather Valentino.

    • Bernadette

Yes to the Valentino and the eye, not loving the hair… part of me likes it shorter on her.

    • macwell

This would have to be the prettiest I’ve ever seen her. :)

    • Fred Vaughn

      BANGIN’!!!

    • siriuslover

I think these are my favorite pictures of her.

    • ashtangajunkie

      That cover! Oh ma gawd.

    • TRSTL

GREAT eye makeup and GREAT hair….

    • Jacob Bowen

Everyone just STOP doing the Cat-Eye now…because you will NEVER do it as well as Elisabeth.

I am also getting old fashioned Schoolmarm-Dominatrix from the last shot…

    • Elizabeth Flowers

She should always wear her hair and makeup like this. DAY-UM GURL!!!

    • Orange Girl

The Reem Acra is stunning. She looks a little like Mila Kunis, no?

    • Michelle Lim

She’s SO GOOD in Top of the Lake!!

    • bitchybitchybitchy

TLo’s opening line takes me back to “She Blinded Me with Science”….and this is true-a really, really great pictorial with Elizabeth Moss.

    • strawberryshake

      She looks absolutely gorgeous!

    • Tricia

Wow, bowing down. I’m in love.

    • Glam Dixie

They found a way to cover up her fivehead (which I think is always an improvement) without giving her bangs, the makeup is gorgeous and the clothes suit her. Well done Bello Magazine.

    • Matt Wołoszyn

Absolutely adore the prim dom Valentino number! Flashbacks to Jacobs’ S&M collection for Vuitton. Put a lit cigarette in her hand and a patent leather hat on her head and turn out the lights!

    • Qitkat

For anyone who hasn’t looked, BELLO is a very cool, hip digital-only magazine, with more shots of Elisabeth, and the story.
And much more. Though it usually costs, the link here (under the cover shot) will take you to view all of this issue for free.

    • 25or6to4

      Girl, that is your makeup.

    • Judih1

Best I have ever seen her look. That is the perfect hair length and style. And that make up is FLAWLESS

    • kmk05

GODDAMN SO SEXY. THE CHANEL. THE SMOULDER. The capslock key is a necessity. Not too in love with the ends of her hair which look a bit fried, but who cares in these pics?

    • Sophie

      Love the second picture!

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Amazing – I have never seen her look so good! That hair colour is just right. I also applaud the digital retouchers for not straightening the stripes on the Chanel tights too much: the way they curve is perfection.

      • NBG

ITA, love they way they show her curves. you know, like the way human being’s bodies actually curve! :)

    • MannahattaMamma

goodness gracious miss moss. whew! (these are complimentary exclamations. which she can’t hear and wouldn’t care about if she could, but still. She looks awfully pretty. And smart.)

    • decormaven

Oh, the places you’ll go! Elizabeth Moss is getting ready to take flight, folks. Home run with these looks.

    • Jessica Freeman

Love everything but the last dress. She looks incredible.

    • Sara Brams-Miller

      I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look so amazing . . .

    • B_C_J

      Second picture is divine

    • NBG

Serving face. Nice work, Miss Elisabeth. More of this, please.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

The makeup really accentuates the startling blue of her eyes. Beautiful!

    • FrigidDiva

She looks amazing, but it took me a good 10 minutes of staring at the cover to figure out what the holy hell was going on with her arm. I thought they’d completely photoshopped it out.

    • KinoEye

For me, these are the best photos I’ve ever seen of her. She’s blinding me with FASHION. The wings fly on her, for sure.

    • Danielle

That is some serious eyeliner game, Elisabeth.

    • Cassidy Olsen

      The Reem Acra is ah-mazing.

    • JP

Agreed. That Valentino looks amazing on her.

    • formerlyAnon

If it’s the makeup rather than the photoshop, she needs to put some headshots from this shoot into her contract with all future makeup people.

    • sherrietee

Goddamn I almost snorted out my lunch over Pilgrim Dominatrix. I’d totally watch that movie on Netflix.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

GET ME HER EYEBROW STYLIST ON SPEED DIAL

    • CommanderA

I LoveLoveLove the Chanel photo. She looks strong and sexy. Ms. Moss is stunning.

    • Vtg Fashion Library

      Miss Peggy’s got game.

    • traceyishere

I’m getting Barbra…is anyone else getting Barbra?

      • traceyishere

        Early Barbra….Color me Barbra, Barbra.

    • acarp

She looks so amazing, I defiantly have a crush on her, ever since I watched her on Top of the Lake, which I think everyone should see. It streams on Netflix! She had super sexy energy with her co-star.

    • Anne

I love that dark hair on her.

    • kategs

She looks terrific and I adore that Valentino.

    • Zuber

Despite of looking fierce and beautiful she looks a bit scared…like not comfortable. Honey, Let go of yourself and have some fun.

    • OffToSeeHim

I don’t like the lighting in these pics at all. And I’d have dropped the shoulder a little in that second one, to take it from “uncomfortable virgin” to “confident woman” – but she’s really beautiful and it’s nice to see her owning it.

    • Nicole

      Love her in the Chanel

    • shelley514

Love, want, need that Valentino in my life. Have nowhere to wear it, ‘cept in my house with a big glass of red wine on my purple sofa.

    • Alisha21

Wow, her face looks amazing. I never thought she could look this good.
