Cameron Diaz in Emilio Pucci at “The Other Woman” Munich Premiere

Posted on April 08, 2014

Cammie, Cammie, Cammie. What are we going to do with you, girl? Talk about a missed opportunity:

Cameron Diaz attends the German premiere of “The Other Woman” at Mathaeser Filmpalast in Munich, Germany in an Emilio Pucci dress paired with Manolo Blahnik pumps and Ana Khouri jewelry.

Emilio Pucci Fall 2014 Collection

Now, all y’all are probably saying to your screen, “T Lo, what’s the problem? She looks great!” To which we would imaginary-reply, “No, the dress looks great.” Which isn’t to say she looks bad, but it’s definitely a case of “I’ll put on this killa dress and call it a day.” No thought on the accessories or styling. A pair of nude pumps and a ponytail.  We get that she’s pretty no-nonsense in her style. We’ve never really seen her wear something elaborate or sport a lot of makeup and jewelry. That’s fine. Clean and sexy works for her so she should go with that. But all we can see when we look at these pictures is that dress. She’s so generic in her styling that she could be practically any blonde starlet standing there.

  • You said it all. That dress on that woman should look a bit more special.

    • ballerinawithagun

And if anyone could pull of some wild booties or platforms it would be the legs of Cameron! So jealous, as I’m 5’2″ and always trying on fabulous shoes that “stumpify” my already short legs.

  • Danielle

The hair needs to have more pizzazz. She’s letting the dress do all the work.

    • caroline

I always think that about Cameron. Would it kill her to have some volume in her hair? I’m beginning to think the answer is yes.

  • RussellH88

It makes me mad that she’s doing nothing with a gorgeous dress.

She’s doing all of the work of a coat hanger.

    • Sarah

Daang, that’s one incredibly toned coat hanger with legs for days.

      • leahpapa

That face says, “With legs like these, accessories would be superfluous. I’m Cameron Fucking Diaz, and as everyone knows, when your middle name is Fucking, you can wear whatever you want.”

        • demidaemon

Cameron may think that, but she would be dead wrong. I believe this is Pulling a Jolie, no?

      • d4divine

For real…from the neck down she is flawless. I don’t agree that any starlet would look good in this dress Cameron is exceptional in the physique department..slim, strong, and leggy….but hair and makeup…well, it definitely needs work

  • Ginger

I like the fact that she’s pretty much no-fuss in her personal style and doesn’t go for the uber-done look. With that being said, she really should’ve at least worn her hair down and picked better shoes.

    • CakesOnAPlane

after noticing the bits of green in the embroidery on the dress, I think jade shoes would have been a great choice.

  • Janet B

The opposite of pulling a Jolie, when the dress does all of the work?

    • melisaurus

The dress is not doing all the work. She has the body and face, she just left the accessories at home.

  • 3boysful

I hate that it matches her coloring.

  • Richard Banger

At least she doesn’t look like she slept in it. And it looks like she actually washed her hair recently and brushed it before leaving the house, so that’s good. Baby steps.

  • Sarah

Those shoes are filling me with hateration. So lame. And if she just took the hair out, I’d be okay. Or a chignon, maybe.

  • Qitkat

This is what Lena Dunham should have worn.
But Cammie looks darn good here.

Man, I need some coffee! High octane.
I hope the rest of my day doesn’t go as contrary!

    • d4divine

Dunham in THIS dress! Lord no!!!

      • Qitkat

Lena always needs a great dress, to give her a head start; but she probably would have to take her “other head” down off the shelf and out of the hatbox to make it work! (evil grin)

  • kmk05

I’m gonna sound like a prude, but isn’t this dress slightly too short? That, or she should have gone up a size because it looks like she’s trying too hard.

    • Twigg

It is too short. She was recently on Graham Norton (UK talk show) and she spent the entire hour pulling her skirt down.

      • demidaemon

She does have a problem with length appropriateness.

  • decormaven

This dress cries out for killer shoes. Sadly, the ones chosen are just pedestrian fare.

  • That facial expression in the first shot screams BAM, HERE I AM, BITCHES!

And yes, there she is. It is pretty amazing that she has looked the same for so many years now. 🙂

  • unpious

Hair down, glasses on. (Glasses can be translated to lipstick in this case.)

God help me, I think I’d have preferred a naked shoe to a nude pump in this instance, even though both trends fill me with acid reflux.

  • Anna

Dress looks great. Her legs are incredible. Too bad she and her team couldn’t work out the beautiful dress + beautiful leggy blonde actress to equal people talking about how great SHE looks.

  • jilly_d

Amazing dress. I don’t mind the pony because the dress is so busy, but a hunter green suede pump and some lipstick woulda gone a long way.

  • MilaXX

Now this is a case where a naked metallic shoe would have worked. It might even have made the hair okay.

  • elemspbee

Too bad. She looks good, and perhaps that’s just her style–easy breezy? this is heidi klum lesser clone though–short shiny though could be tighter

  • In_Stitches

I disagree. With that face, there’s no way I can read anything here as ‘generic’. I will say that the reverse parentheses on her upper chest are broadening her in an unflattering way, making her look like a carrot.

  • Jessica Freeman

Metallic shoes would have elevated the whole look. I think the pony works, the dress definitely needs an up do.

  • Yolanda13

So true. The dress is wearing her. And that dress is fabulous.

  • cocohall

This look says to me, “I will be yanking this dress off and f*cking the brains out of someone in about 15 minutes so why bother with the styling or hair? She knows this is enough to achieve that goal; why waste the effort? If the Charley (sp?) perfume ad were being shot in 2014, she would be the girl.

  • jw_ny

I’ve said this about her in the past too…she puts little to no effort into her looks. She gets great clothes and then relies on her great gams and pretty face to do the rest of the work (well…they ain’t cuttin’ it honey!) That hair and those shoes are just blah and bring the whole look down.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

I think she knows exactly what she’s doing here… or her stylists do. I expect leg and that’s what I got. The dress just above those stems is pretty much irrelevant.

  • Cyprienne Zed

She’s on the Irrational Hate list for me… but I rationally hate this look. The dress itself is beautiful and deserves better.

  • Mothra

It looks a little too small for her.

  • Kayceed

The bead work is spectacular and I think the colors really work on her – but I think the design across the chest and shoulders broadens her shoulders a bit much.

  • Wink

Face, hair, legs, body… everything works except the boring nude shoes. But I don’t know what kind of shoes would look better. Definitely not the gladiator sandals on the model.

    • TrixieConQueso

And here we are, today, calling Manolo Blahniks “boring.” I agree, but how far the Great have tumbled. Sigh. Carrie must be spinning in her grave.

      • Wink

Funny! Doesn’t matter if they are Manolo’s or Jessica Simpson’s… those nude/beige shoes are completely boring (especially with that dress).

  • Beardslee

The first thing I thought here was not about what she was wearing but how beautifully she is getting older. She will be an incredible 70 year old if she can leave her face alone.

And I agree, the dress is too short. That is a starlet length and she’s a grown up.

    • MilaXX

Meanwhile 21 years old Kate Upton is dressing through this poledance like she’s Cam’s age

    • Constant Reader

You know, I’ve been noticing the same thing about her. I hope she can resist the urge to nip, tuck, and fill because if anything, she’s getting more beautiful as she ages.

  • luluransom

Tragic waste of an absolutely gorgeous dress and jackpot DNA.

  • Kent Roby

That smug expression says “I knocked Heidi down to get to this dress first!” Fun dress, and killer bod; y’all are right (yet again!) about Cammie missing the opportunity to make the most of this look.

    • Imasewsure

Heidi’s version has a front and back plunge from navel to tramp stamp though of course

      • Kent Roby

…and is 3 inches shorter. And unlined.

        • demidaemon

She’s also wearing a Victoria Secret black thong. 😉

  • marlie

That dress is *gorgeous.* Just stunning. And lazy, boring styling. For shame.

  • Does her zero justice.

  • KinoEye

I’m glad the dress is lined, but yep. Pulling a Jolie. That dress deserves better.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

As I said about Lena Dunham in the Marc Jacobs, when you’re wearing a dress like this, put in the effort on the hair and face as well.

  • lunchcoma

I see your point, but she still does look good overall, so it’s hard for me to completely hate it.

  • Imasewsure

I’m fine with everything except the yoga hair. I really miss her short kicky hair style from a few years back…. I like the looser fit on the model too but not back. It’s more of an Aniston than a Jolie in my mind…

  • Tracy_Flick

    She’s Nice Gwennie. I can’t hate.

  • MzzPants

Send that shit to Klum. She’ll accessorize it, all right.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Heidi will start by removing the sleeves, and adding a deep V neck.

    • demidaemon

      With her tits.

  • msdamselfly

  • Lori

The dress is great, but too short and yes, the total lack of any effort at styling is a problem.

  • alyce1213

I adore the dress. Nude shoe is wrong, patent leather nude shoe is even wronger. She could have picked from a half dozen metallic colors.
Sleek hair might have worked but this is not sleek enough, it’s careless yoga hair, it should have been elegantly done. The dress does deserve better.

  • melanie0866

    Still. She looks bangin’.

  • Denise Rambo

I’m constantly wanting to scream at these women … COMB YOUR HAIR!

  • Sophie

The earrings go well with the dress, which I was expecting to be longer. It’s all very bland, isn’t it?

  • Carleenml

so right. and she’s SO SO cute with short flippy hair – I hate that she’s got this sleeked ponytail snooze.

  • The Versatile Chef

I’m so happy to see a beautiful actress getting older and not fucking with her face that I’m giving her a pass on the dress and styling.

  • EEKstl

The RIGHT pony tail with better makeup and metallic shoes and this look would sing on her. Domage.

  • ashtangajunkie

Kind of looks like a tall Kristin Chenoweth. I could forgive the ponytail if she had chosen better shoes.

  • Clash D

    Same shoes, different day.

  • Monabel

“Dress, where are you going with that girl?”

  • Jacob Bowen

Even JUST the hair alone, had it been done NICELY, would have made this PERFECT!

  • B_C_J

Dress is a showstopper & fits her incredibly. Hair could have been improved.

  • enchanted216

No, I’m sorry. The dress is killer, and it would look amazing on her if it wasn’t TOO SMALL! Seriously.

  • quiltrx

There’s this little part of me that gets offended when I see a ladystar getting to wear an incredible piece of fashion…and she can’t even seem to be bothered to do something special with her hair/face/jewelry/shoes. I think they forget how lucky they are sometimes.
This is a “Reverse Jolie”–letting the clothes do all the work.

  • demidaemon

My thoughts exactly. As I scrolled down, I thought, “Really? Nude pumps. Can’t you come up with anything better.” It is SEVERELY understyled.

  • mjmiller77

gorgeous dress! nude shoes?!?! she has to have something better than that!

  • holla

would these people stop with the nude shoes already?

  • nycfan

Ummm, I’ll go in the camp that she looks great and seems to be featuring her finest feature, those legs.

Would have loved a swept back retro “Catherine Denueve” do with this. “Big hair Orlando!”

  • amaranth16

Agreed on the hair and shoes – this was a scrolldown “Oh.” – but I think the tempered makeup works really beautifully with this dress. (And the colors for the dress on her are to die for – especially the green details.)
