I wish those were zebra pumps instead. I also wish that was my hair.

    • somebody blonde

Yeah, a black-and-white pattern would’ve looked a lot more chic, but she definitely still looks fab.

      • Judih1

Exactly. Zebra pattern would make this a werq

  • Danielle

    LIVING for that hair.

  • cmb123

She looks great. I agree, a black and white shoe probably would have been better but snaps to her!

  • Glam Dixie

I’m loving everything except the sleeves and the shoes. I want to remove the sleeves completely or make them short and replace the shoes with almost anything else.

    • demidaemon

Pretty much exactly my thoughts. I think I would have been okay with this if the sleeves were fitted, but that bell-shape is just wrong. Someone remind me what the technical term is for these, please, so I know what new design feature I should hate.

      • Glam Dixie

The technical term for those sleeves is bell I think, or ugly. One or the other.

        • demidaemon

  • sagecreek

    Hate the shoes.

  • Anna

Oh, Brandy! I’m (mostly) down with what you’re going through. Not a fan of the shoes but your hair is EVERYTHING.

  • @Biting Panda

    Your move Solange.

  • LadyVimes

Love the hair, like the dress, hate the shoes.

  • Emily Giovanni

The rest of the look is pretty bad, but that hair is giving me life.

  • Shelby

Did Katy Perry wear this a few years ago? Not that this means nobody else can wear it, but just curious….

    • Danielle

      She did! Good eye!

      • Shelby

Haha, I think I only caught it because I was looking at the New Years best and worst posts a few days ago. 😀

    • Evan

Yup. Just commented on the same thing.

  • marlie

Fabulous from the ankles up. That a is cute little dress! Her makeup is a little low-key, but I’m not even mad. And her hair is awesome! I’m glad to see she’s working again, too.

  • Sarah

I know that the top of that dress is probably hard not to clash with, but I feel like her face is too underdone. I want her lips to be darker, anyway. Otherwise, hells yes for that hair and she looks cute.

  • BrianaJC

I love the shoes – I think the black t strap ties it in. But something about the bell sleeves is bothering me – I just can’t put my finger on what.

  • MarissaLG

There are so, SO few situations in which a bell sleeve is a good idea. This is not one of them. The shoes are another wrong move.

  • Evan

I see she’s wearing Katy Perry’s hand-me-downs from a couple of years ago.

    • MarissaLG

      Ooh that’s shady.

      (and true)

      • Evan

What it must be like to once have been on top of the heap and now just scraping the barrel.

    • Shelby

I think it comes down to a hairstyle-off. Do you prefer Katy’s fabulous blue hair or Brandy’s fabulous-fro?

      • Evan

Brandy’s. Katy’s hair clashed with the blue in the dress. But Katy’s shoes were amazing. Brandy’s I won’t comment on.

        • Shelby

          I agree!

    • demidaemon

#Bitch Stole My Look. Take it, Brandy!

  • Sophia Finfer

I’d like the dress a lot more without the bell sleeves, but that could be just a personal preference. Other than that it is pretty adorable. The shoes don’t go, but the hair is fab.

  • Alex Palombo

I liked it better when Katy Perry wore it with the piano shoes, but her hair is fan-fucking-tastic.

  • Tanya Wade

Looks like somebody got their Solange on!

  • Stella Zawistowski

That color combo is taking me back to 1989 and I LOVE IT.

  • Truthiness2U

Love the hair, pretty make-up. Even kind of like the dress. HATE the shoes.

  • Laura Renee

    SMASHING. Except for the feet.

  • International Model

Stop ruining leopard print for everyone.

Save it for the board room, paired with an actual live leopard prepared to kill on your command, right before you fire all the men.

    • How to Faint

Meanwhile, in Pawnee, Leslie Knope just felt a delicious little thrill shoot down her spine.

      • International Model

…how do I give you a million upvotes for that?

  • decormaven

I was on board until the shoes.

  • Alicia

Gorgeous hair and makeup, but those shoes go with a black pencil skirt and not this dress. Which I don’t like either.

  • lamamu

    Is she aging in reverse?

    • MishaFoomin

I was wondering at what age the phrase “Bitch don’t age” gets to be applied to women, because Brandy hasn’t budged from 16 years old.

      • lamamu

The thing is: when she was 16, she was trying to look older for her career. (That whole early sexualization thing that comes with a pop career for teen girls.) Now she actually looks younger than her 16-year-old self. How’s that for the best sort of irony?

  • kimmeister

I like the dress, even the sleeves, but I think the black band is too loose on her. And of course the shoes were a terrible choice and the face is too plain to go with all that divatude.

  • demidaemon

It’s cute. Love the colors and the combination, don’t mind the shoes, great hair. Hate the sleeves though. I wish it were sleeveless or they were more fitted.

  • stubbornthoughts

    Brandy has a last name?

    • JauntyJohn

That was my first reaction too. I was, “Wait, the SINGER Brandy?”

  • Cassidy Olsen

That is just two different Powerpuff Girl costumes smashed together.

  • LoLoWyo

She is trying REALLY REALLY HARD.

  • veronicafish

Great. Now I want to grow out my natural, awkward stage be damned. Thanks, Brandy.

  • heartbot

    She looks fantastic!

  • BrooklynBomber

    Love. Except the shoes.

  • Aurora Leigh

I guess it IS a horror movie premier, so it makes sense that she’s trying to scare us with her outfit.

  • Ashleigh

    look out Solange!

  • Imasewsure

“I knew Solange Knowles…. You are no Solange Knowles”…. but it’s not boring, that is for sure

  • MilaXX

That’s not the right shoe for that dress.

  • boweryboy

Everything from the ankle up is fabulous. The shoes are a needle scratch.

  • kfizz

I saw the headline and thought, “Who’s Brandy Norwood?” And I scrolled down, and I blurted out loud, “Oh, Brandy!” She looks exactly the same as she did 15 years ago. Except her hair looks way better.

  • quiltrx

    • How to Faint

(And it’s working for you too, Brandy. But I couldn’t resist.)

  • Gaby

Those colors… nude makeup. Um. K. I’m also not sure that’s her shade of pink.

  • butterflysunita

Bright colors, genuine smile and amazing hair….she’s a breath of fresh air.

  • How to Faint

Love the hair, hate the outfit, loathe the shoes, adore the face she’s making in the last pic.

  • d4divine

At first I thought, who’s Brandy Norwood, then I realized who she is and I felt bad…doesn’t matter because she looks adorable.

    • somebody blonde

It’s weird that she has a last name, right?

      • d4divine

        Exactly! Lol

  • Sophie

Nice hair and dress, and I’d like a stronger lip, maybe.

  • Clash D

Take off the sleeves and we’d have a somewhat decent dress. Tatooing seriously limited one’s styling choices, methinks. Feel free to disagree.

  • OffToSeeHim

    Love everything about this look!

  • austinhalford

    edhfh dg yd

  • Liza Ortiz

she still look 9 years old to me
