I don’t love it. It’s overwhelming her tiny self, her makeup is underdone, and this is not her best hair style. But mostly, I am just so very tired of this dress.

      • PastryGoddess

What’s crazy is that this type of dress is now synonymous with his name. You would think stylists would pick something else.

      • demidaemon

Exactly what I was thinking. She looks much better in colors and metallics than this black over nude crap.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

      GTNYD.

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

I like it better on a woman with darker coloring, like the model.

      • SorayaS

Yeah this is a “not for blondes” dress- or at least not blonde cocker spaniel hair.

    • Ashleigh

This is rather beautiful, but wish it wasn’t “nude”…I guess that’s the only way her boyfriend would approve.

    • rissa42210

This is too much for her and not working with the blonde.

    • Glam Dixie

This really doesn’t suit her at all. Not in style or in any other way. GTNYD. Set it free.

    • poorellensmith

      Nope.

    • Dreamwr8tr

The hair and makeup are not dramatic enough for this dress. Also, jewelry is needed.

    • decormaven

It looks like lacewing or dragonfly wing. Either way, it’s a bit creepy.

      • marlie

        That’s WHY I like it!

        • decormaven

I need to look at it with fresh eyes. Long week with a lot of computer time [work]. I love to see natural elements repeated in fabric, so props to the designer for running with the concept.

You know? I like this a lot. Sure, it’s another “nude” and black dress, but I’m getting a bug wing/stained glass vibe, in a really good way. But it’s too tight in the waist. And bolder lipstick would have been nice.

      • Wendy

Agreed. I think I would really love this if the lining was in a deep midnight blue instead of nude.

      • Jacob Bowen

That’s why I like this too! That, and that it’s FULLY LINED! I can imagine our lovely Kimmy K wearing this fully sheer and we would get to see her underoos….blegh.

      • barbarienne

Art nouveau inspired. I’m with you. I love that stuff. It could be better, but I’m not hating it as it is.

    • hughman

      Miss of the Spider Woman.

      • Judih1

        LOL -very witty

    • Pennymac

I like it better on her than on the model. I think her face is too naked, though.

    • TwiddlyStun

Why the dairy princess wave? Otherwise, I like the dress, but agree the hair/makeup/jewelry needs a little more thought.

    • siedhr

I’ve always thought she has no taste. This is just another confirmation, a Buffalo Bill dress with a chain motif. Blech.

    • kim bunchalastnames

huh. i think she looks great in this. she has a tendency to go too “older woman attempts sex bomb.” this is much more modern, i think. she looks young, and hip. … i’ll just sit over here by myself, and watch y’all talk about it. lol.

    • Imasewsure

Ick that dress is one creepy fishnet…. there should be sardines hanging on to the bottom

    • BlairBear

A nude dress with black overlay? What an original idea. That being said this is a pretty iteration of that trope and its not as naked as some of the other versions

    • jw_ny

The lower 1/3 of the dress is gorgeous! I wish the upper portion was simpler so as to draw the attention to the bottom. The top is overly busy.
She looks lovely though, and is such a fun and likable lady, from what I’ve seen of her on The Voice.

    • MilaXX

I am biased sine I have loved Shaki for such a long time. I think she looks pretty.

    • Kitten Mittons

I like this on its own, but I just love her and always have, so I can’t be very partial. I like the look overall, and with a few tweaks it could have been really dynamite.

    • Iolanthe

It looks like a zentangle. I want to fill in all that negative space with little lines and dots using a black fine-point Sharpie

    • Evan

Thank you for featuring Shakira. I was gonna ask why you guys don’t feature her that often. That being said, I think it looks much better on the model because of the contrast with her skin and hair.

    • sojourneryouth

This is one of those dresses that you have to “own it” to wear it. It’s a hot diva dress, and the model is working it as such–Shakira is acting like a pageant contestant who know she won’t win the crown, so is gunning for Miss Congeniality. It’s totally the wrong energy to wear this dress with, if you get my child-of-hippies meaning. Imma leave off commenting about the disturbing quotes she’s been making about her apparently controlling relationship (oh wait–I just did!), and just say that I would love to see her in a super-glam gown and loving it out loud, and this ain’t it. It would work better on a woman with darker coloring who can handle it.

    • Gatto Nero

Great gown, but it needs sleek hair, dramatic makeup, and attitude (see model).

    • Judih1

I wish she would go back to her natural dark hair color which is so much more flattering than this hot mess blonde. The dress is okay but her lack of make up and mermaid hairstyle, takes it down a notch

      • lobsterlen

Darker and curly … I loved her curly hair.

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

After a while they all look a like! ZZZZ

    • teensmom99

      So 2011.

    • KinoEye

At least it’s lined. Loved her since Whenever, Wherever and want to see her looking more like the Columbian diva she is. Missing her curls and wishing for more dramatic makeup here.

    • JaCory Deon

Glad to know I’m not the only one driven crazy by her blonde hair, which does nothing for her. As a brunette, she’s stunning…don’t know why she clings to this washed-out color. The dress is just “meh” on her…don’t know if she’s dramatic enough to pull off something like that.

      • Evan

I like the blonde with the roots that she sported during the Laundry Service days and normally I don’t like visible roots. I thought it suited her. This blonde looks too fake.

    • quiltrx

I’m usually a sucker for this kind of dress…in more of a ‘fashion is art’ way than that they’re the perfect dress for someone (they only rarely are). But this one is NOT doing it for me. The background is too light–kind of takes it to trashytown exactly matching her skin. I prefer a taupe-ish lining. And this one is WAY too busy. There’s nowhere for the eye to rest. The bottom of the skirt is pretty in an almost art-deco way…but the top is way too leipidopteran for my taste.
Plus it looks like it’s cutting her in two at the waste. The hair is has no life, and the face is too naked. Not your look, girl.

    • LilyVanessi

My first thought was the blood vessel cat suits at the end of “All That Jazz”. It doesn’t work without the headdress.

    • kategs

She looks stunning! A wee bit more color on her lip would have been lovely though.

    • Anna

Interesting dress but that is the WRONG hair. A soft and low-do with a slightly darker lip could make this much more put-together.

    • KTBSN

      Simply stunning.

    • xmixiex

Agree with the general consensus, but, it does fit her PERFECTLY.

    • BackseatDriver

Her figure is right for the dress, better than the model’s. However, everyone is right about her coloring, not so great.

    • MarissaLG

I think she looks amazing. I like the minimal makeup look, but I think in order to pull that off, the hair should have been more polished. A sleek up-do or something would have suited her better, I think.

    • AnaRoW

I’m going to be contrarian. I like it better on Shakira than the model. The lining matches her skin better than the darker skinned model so doesn’t stand out as much. I’m not crazy about the hair but then I’m so over bleached blonde black and Latina women. It’s aging.

    • Danielle

That liner is putting in WORK.
