Needed the belt to draw attention to the peplum. Without it, should have got rid of the peplum too. However, love that blue & orange and love her face.

    • BayTampaBay

Agreed! She needs the belt as shown on the model.

    • JauntyJohn

The belt ABSOLUTELY makes the peplum. I’m generally not in the pro-peplum camp, but it’s so subtle here that with the belt I thought it looked sensational. Without, it’s just like a pleat that over-achieved.

      • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

Now I’m trying to say “pro-peplum” over and over really fast. Thanks.

    • Danielle

Can we even call that a peplum? They look like mini mudflaps.

      • Alicia

        I was a bit torn. Proto-peplum? Hip-awnings?

  • Mothra

Cute! Love the print, but is it too snug?

    • kimmeister

Maybe a smidge, but she has no underarm bulge so that’s a win!

      • 3boysful

I suspect she cannot breathe–compare the model’s fit. So yes, kudos that she is not busting out!

  • dea

The color and shape of the dress look great on her. Hate the “just got out of bed” hair.

  • deelup

    Best she’s looked lately.

    • Rhonda Shore

Definitely. And it’s just right for a SXSW film premiere.

  • crash1212

Love the print. Hate the hip flaps. Can hip flaps, peplums and any other hip related frippery die…NOW? Also, she’s a gorgeous woman.

    • sienna elm

      Hip-frippery. 😀

  • Sarah

I wish the print was as vibrant on Rosario as it is on the model, but I love it anyway. I think the peplum detail may be extraneous given the busy print and the piping. Also, I don’t like where it hits Ms. Dawson and I want it to be a couple inches shorter on her.

    • Kitten Mittons

It does seem muted on her. Is it just the flashes? I hope so.

I agree on the length, just a smidge shorter would be nice.

      • Sarah

Yeah must be the lighting. Or perhaps some photo enhancing? Either way it is a really cool color scheme; I dig it.

        • Kitten Mittons

Orange and blue is having quite the moment. As a Broncos fan, I’m all over it.

  • charlotte

I wish she’d gone up a size and I’d have preferred a less busy dress, but I do love the print.

  • hughman

Ok, now THIS I can see her running in.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

The color is so right, I can forgive the other little nits.

  • Anna

Not quite. Fit seems a skosh too tight and hair looks messy. Looks better styled on the model, but I love the colours on Rosario.

My God though, is she beautiful.

  • Courtenay P

It looks so gorgeous and expensive in the model photo.

  • boweryboy

Her hair is the worst thing about this look.

  • Joanna

Why is her hair always a hot mess? I love her, and her in that dress, but that hair . . .

  • alyce1213

It’s a Chinese ginger jar, and not flattering for her slim body.

  • Julie Chase

Too tight, and her hair is a mess. But the colors are super gorgeous.

  • RescueMe23

Brush the hair! Oh that look drives me nuts!!

  • lobsterlen

The HAIR and a belt. A belt would have broken up the pattern. Why do the lady stars hate belts?
I love the print on the dress. I am birder and have Audubon dinner in a month I’d love to wear a printed dress in Mandarin ducks and cocktails.

    • sagecreek

Oh, this dress would stop the show at an Audubon dinner!

      • lobsterlen

Do you think Matthew Williamson would loan me the dress for the Audubon dinner? 😉

        • sagecreek

I think it’s either a) ask him or b) take out a second mortgage, so give it a whirl :)

  • MilaXX

Needs the belt and she needs some jewelry.

  • sagecreek

Love the print. And as much as I hate to criticize my hometown festival, who chose that backdrop? It makes everyone look bad.

  • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

    Cute…more hair though.

  • quiltrx

I’ll be glad when we can stop seeing this hiddy backdrop.
I like the dress especially the fabric. I think it needs the belt, though.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

She needs to go up a size. Otherwise, cute dress.

  • Alyssa

Definitely needed the belt. And it seems to me she’s Pulling a Jolie with the hair/makeup.

  • Sofia

i love the colors in this print on her. and is that a martini glass in it? i love it even more! i don’t think her hair is messy, she looks relaxed and approachable, which may be appropriate for a film festival. maybe the dress is very slightly tight, but she is curvier than the model and standing with a hip cocked. speaking of the model, i have always hated booties with dresses and skirts. it’s been going on for quite a few years now. when will it end, please?

  • marlie

Pretty girl, but boring dress (despite the pattern). And she – just like Jennifer Connelly – is sporting errand-running hair and face.

    • Imasewsure

I was thinking “office hair” to go with a nice dress for the office but I think you are right.. it’s errands… Pretty still but not great

  • kimmeister

Best I’ve seen her look in a long time. Agree that the belt would have helped, but she benefits from the peplum anyway because her waist isn’t very defined naturally. Sooo glad she didn’t wear booties.

  • Pennymac

By the reading the comments I suppose I’m in the minority, but I really don’t like that print. It reminds me of curtains from a historic house one might tour in Williamsburg..

  • Jacob Bowen

Do celebrities know the color of the background they will be standing in front of when they get to an event? I am guessing no, but if they did, there is NO WAY she should be in this dress. The three colors just make my eyes hurt when together in one photo. I LOVE the dress, but that background is killing the mood for me.

  • Trickytrisha

Okay dress, but the print is bizarre. Clashy-clashy with the backdrop, which has been mentioned here and with other celebs at SXSW. She’s looking lovely.

  • butterflysunita

She looks beautiful and I love the color and the print–but don’t like the way the dress is bunching up a bit. Maybe it’s too tight?

  • Tracy_Flick

I love those colors, and I love them on her. But she needs to go up a size.

  • Aurumgirl

    Up a size.

  • alytoyou

Sister Parrish slip cover. Make the backdrop go away.

    • Bert Keeter

The martni makes it a bit Albert Hadley!

  • Badriya Al-Badi’a

As a cocktail-imbibing birdwatcher, I have to approve of this dress on general principles, but I agree with the general consensus: up a size.

  • Bert Keeter

    Sister Parrish …HA!

  • peachy

that is one fabulous face! nicely done makeup and hair. that said, that pattern on her dress is similar to wallpaper my mother had in her formal dining room when i was a child. it was based on a williamsburg va colonial replica wallpaper.
