Improved. But what the fuck is happening at the arms? Is that a neckline malfunction?

    • barbarienne

The fabric stretching over the gap between her shoulder and the top of her breast. (That is some remarkable foundation garment!). There’s a funny shadow because of the angle and the harsh light.

    • Fuchaforever

The arms??? WTF is happening at the WAIST?!?!…..,It’s la faja fantástica! (The fantastic abdominal sweatband!)

      • MoHub

It looks like a very fancy old-school girdle over the top of the skirt.

      • Donna Tabor

It’s like some weird take on a Japanese obi, isn’t it? And it neither matches nor contrasts.

        • Fuchaforever

Like I said before it looks like an abdominal sweatband. It’s bulky and awkward. Wtf is she or her stylist thinking? Don’t get it.

        • Fuchaforever

If she took the abdominal sweatband off the dress would look so much better!

      • mar

I truly think she’s got tan lines from a previous outfit. You would think that the makeup artist would have evened out her skin tone.

    • marlie

I’d like to think that that’s just a weird trick of the lighting/camera. Hopefully.

  • barbarienne

Still looking a little dowdy, but for her it’s an improvement.

I want her to stand in front of a mirror and practice “red carpet smiling” until she stops making these faces. Pic 1/4 is good.

  • International Model

    Bianca Del Rio.

  • luludexter

Ok better than the last look to be sure, but that neckline and cumberbund are doing doing her no favors…

  • kmk05

No orange eyeshadow to the brow! This one’s a win.

  • Jen

I feel like this is a politician’s wife’s dress… not for any kind of premiere. She just needs a killer stylist, please.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Her makeup and hair people need to be flogged and fired.

    • DaringMiss

I will help hold the blighters still!

  • Lori

When we can see your armpit it’s a sign that your neckline is too wide/cut wrong.

    • marlie

I don’t think that’s armpit; I think it’s the curvature of her bust, accented by weird lighting.

  • Jessica Freeman

Oddly placed embellishments on an otherwise forgettable dress.

  • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

I must be hopelessly old, out of touch and impractical as heck, buuuuuut, I miss seeing ladies wearing appropriate hosiery. I look at this and think how a very sheer black stocking would have made this look so much more elegant. Makes wearing those shoes easier too. Does nice things for the foot and ankle where like here, they just look lumpy and unfinished or some such.

    • conniemd

I so totally agree with you. Most shoes feel better with stockinged feet and it avoids the weird tanning lotion colors.

    • ballerinawithagun

I love stockings! Wolford makes fabulous designs that really would have brought this dress to a better level.

  • jen_vasm

This is a woman with a fantastic body, but that dress makes her look flat chested, no waisted and I shudder to know what that lower embellishment does to her butt in the rear view. Go home and start again.

  • Sara__B

Isn’t a corset waist supposed to make the waist look smaller? Girl, that’s NOT your dress!

    • kimmeister

She keeps insisting on wearing sheath dresses, when they’re not the most flattering for her figure.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

Didn’t she used to be really hot? Or am I confusing her with someone else? This is actually a serious question because the last few posts of her don’t look like what I remember her looking like….I’m starting to think I have her mixed up in my head with another actress.

    • Imasewsure

No she was really hot maybe about two years ago for sure… I think she is transitioning herself in to the character actress mode (even though she doesn’t have to). Too bad…. the “old girl” still had legs

  • KateM

Doesn’t the stretchy waist-cincher go UNDER the clothes?

  • Gatto Nero

    Both dowdy and overembellished.

  • alyce1213

That’s a dress for a fashionable Grandma. What’s going on with the neckline?

    • demidaemon

    • SierraDelta

If my children would only cooperate, I could be a grandmother. But I wouldn’t wear that dress even then.

  • MilaXX

Another entry in the adequate Olympics. ***YAWN**

    Bored now

  • Imasewsure

I was going to rail against her hair and makeup until I saw that adorable second picture. I’ll say nothing for now and hope for better looks from her in the future!

    • kirkyo

The third as well. I can’t hate.

  • kaybee

Oh, someone found grandma’s church dress.

  • Danielle

    Loathe the faux obi.

    • sagecreek

Thank you! I was trying to figure out what to call that.

  • decormaven

Is it a belted dress, separates with a belt, or what? Whatever it is, it is hella unflattering. Paired with the flyaway hair, it’s an illustration for “I Don’t Really Care That I’m Here, But My Publicist Got Me This Gig.” I’m more interested in the random sponsors of this event. Herbalife for Cesar Chavez?

  • KT

UGH. Send this dress to Helen Mirren, sweetie… she has not been looking very good lately, I have to say. She’s so naturally beautiful, but everything here is way off, especially that hair. Fire your team and start over!

  • Anne At Large

This background makes everything here look to me like a terribly awkward photoshop job. I was actually hoping that was the case but this outfit is just that weird, apparently.

    • SEPA_Q

The background is a HUGE video screen in the lobby of the Newseum. It’s not supposed to be viewed up close, but still can’t believe how badly it photographs,

      • ballerinawithagun

I just posted that it is giving me a migraine!

  • JP

No. The top looks like she tried to slap an obi belt over a dress, and too high on the torso.

  • Dagney

Rosario, how bout you and Paula Patton fire your stylists, and go find someone who understands you are athletic, non dainty women, and tell them to construct a look that shows off your amazing selves.

  • mlle

    A. Does her hair more closely resemble a feather duster or some sort of hen?
    B. Did the person who decided to have the step and repeat in front of a giant pixellated screen lose their job? If no, over/under on how many hours before that happens?

  • Fuchaforever

It’s la faja fantástica! (The fantastic abdominal sweatband!)

  • Susan Velazquez

That portrait neckline is so awkward. All of this is so awkward.

  • ThaliaMenninger

She’s wearing the matron lady square neck. It looks great on Bette Midler, but not so much on Rosario Dawson.

  • marlie

Great dress. I really like it. Her makeup is mostly good (lipstick, please), but I hate her hair. “Styled by wind-tunnel” should not be a thing.

    ETA: Maybe add a belt.

  • LeelaST

One of my irrational hates. But even so that’s a horrible peplum/belt/weird thing and it makes that neckline even more awkward.

  • crash1212

What is up with this girl’s hair lately? Seriously. Other than that, I like this look – although that neckline isn’t the most flattering.

    • dschubba

She shaved one side of her head a few months back.

  • Synnamin

Horrible dress, horrible makeup, horrible hair. May I give her an OUT just because?

  • cocohall

Weird clothes, but she is so fabulous. She is one-of-a-kind – no one else looks like her and she celebrates that. So what if sometimes the clothes go a little askew, at least she isn’t generic.

  • Ediths_Head

    Hernia truss. That is all.

  • Tracy_Flick

The eye makeup was applied with a trowel, the hair looks like a cheap bumpit, and the dress is a living example of the principle that adding sparkle doesn’t automatically cancel out dowdy.

But you know, she doesn’t look bad, considering.

  • demidaemon

To me, this is another Golden Girls dress, slightly updated. Not good, Rosario. Not good at all.

  • quiltrx

The sculptured cummerbund is doing her no favors. (and obscures much of the beading)
    Neither is the neckline.
And her hair looks like a hat.

  • LaSylphide

Awful hair and makeup: she has beautiful eyes and big, luscious features and really doesn’t need all that glop. The dress: where to start. The neckline is just weird. I like square necklines, but this is too wide, or too low, or too something. She can carry off the glitz, so why the unembellished middle that looks like they ran out of beads? It’s one of those dresses that you keep thinking could be so much better.
