Naomie Harris in Burberry at the Bond In Motion Exhibition

Posted on March 19, 2014

Any time we see an actress forced to pose in front of a car, we feel a little sorry for her; like she was being reduced to a booth babe at a convention. But Miss Naomie knows how to class it up and besides, if you’re posing next to a vintage Rolls Royce in the London Film Museum at a tribute to James Bond… well, call us shallow, but that sounds quite a bit more upscale than the average car show or product unveiling.

Our point is…

Naomie Harris poses in front of the Rolls Royce Phantom III from “Goldfinger” at the Bond In Motion exhibition held at the London Film Museum in a Burberry suit accessorized with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, Noor Fares jewelry.

She’s fabulous. The look ain’t setting anyone’s world on fire, but this wasn’t the time and place for that. Show up looking picture-ready but not full of yourself. Done and done. That she managed “chic” on top of that is a testament to her style.

She sure loves her sternum. Props!

    • Are sternums the next thigh gap? The next abs?

  • @Biting Panda

Naomie and her sternum have become their own Of Course.

    • But she makes me want to Be Her Sternum. Can’t say as much about ol’ Lea.

    • Gatto Nero

      Hers and everyone else’s sternum.

    • JauntyJohn

I was just thinking that! She (almost) always looks dynamite, but at the same time my first thought was “Girlfriend loves her sternum.”

  • MW

Props to her, I’d be all over those cars, not in a very classy manner. And I appreciate the subtle addition of Ben Whishaw in the background.

    Hate the shoes though.

  • JasmineAM

What’s going on with the hair? And I would sacrifice my first born for that Phantom!

  • A little light on the makeup for my taste, and that strand of hair needs to be tucked in. The effect of those actually makes it not-quite-camera-ready for me.

    • @Biting Panda

Agreed. She’s a bit too, “just about to wash her face”.

    • kmk05

The ‘naked face’ microtrend needs to die right now.

      • Let’s put all the “naked face” people with all the “black lace” people and ban the whole lot. While we’re at it, I’d toss in the “shoes too large/too small” people, the “cocker spaniel” hair people, the “inappropriate cutouts” people, the “beige shoes” people, the “matchy accessories” people, and anyone who wears Stella McCartney. That will leave us with probably two dozen who sport interesting outfits and are still human enough to merit both praise and WTF’s from Uncles T and Lo.

        • Sarah

Don’t forget Pinterest Nails people and Too Many Bobby Pins folks.

          • Naturally! How could I have forgotten?

          • decormaven

And the Pinterest braid babies too.

          • I’ve been torturing a hair accessories company on twitter with pictures of the too many bobby pins folks. Apparently it’s causing horror in their office.

          • SierraDelta

I have no idea how you do that, but carry on torturing!

        • kmk05

The problem with the ‘naked face’ thing, though, is that it actually looks unfinished. In contrast, the ‘beige shoes’ is lazy and uninspired, yes, but at least the celebrity is not barefoot.

        • Jacob Bowen

Don’t forget the “Underwear as Outerwear” people…sheer needs to DIE.

  • Danielle

Be her AND do her. In the Phantom’s backseat.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

I myself want a picture in front of that car when I’m in London (however my sternum will be genteelly clad as might befit someone closer in age to the Queen than to Naomie Harris).

  • PlethoraofBooks

I think she needed a little more makeup – she looks to made under, rather than made up. But I like the outfit.

  • Michelle my belle

The only thing that bugs me is the weird puckering/wrinkling on the sides of her skirt.

  • KES4K

Oh dear, poor thing forgot to pack a blouse! [In other words, this suit strikes me as far too ‘business’ to look OK without something underneath]

    • jen_vasm

I think there’s a little bit of channeling Ms. Moneypenny going on here – hence the suit.

  • Fanny_Trollope

The Fug girls would say, “Needs a bracelet.” So I’ll say it for them.

    • Lilak

Hoo-boy, does it ever. NAB was created for occasions like this very one!

  • Sarah

Very quibbly, I know, but those epaulettes are being little bows, are they not? Tis a bit distracting to the cleanness of the suit.

    • Kitten Mittons

Ooh, I loved that they looked like little epaulets! The suit is so clean, I liked that little detail. And I’m not a bow fan (even though I’m wearing one today, maybe that’s why I’m being kind).

Side note: I googled epaulets to confirm the spelling (epaulettes and all that), and I found one dictionary entry that said the little fabric strap is actually called a passant, and an epaulet is the doo-hickey that you attach to the fabric, such as stripes to denote military rank. Couldn’t find anything else that corroborated that. I’ve never heard “passant” used in that context.

Anybody else heard that term before?

      • Sarah

Nice to know you were checking up on my spelling 😉 No, never heard “passant” before. Interesting.

        • Kitten Mittons

Someone has to keep you in line. -.-
No, no, I’ve just seen alternate spellings before, so your post prompted me to look up if both were acceptable. I had every confidence you were right!

  • Was the very old roadster car in “Goldfinger”, too? I can’t remember. I’m asking because the license plate says AU-1, and AU is the symbol for Gold. (Of course, I suppose it could also mean the car came from Austria or Australia or something.)

  • oozes chic.

  • Lilak

Lovely as always, but she looks a little sleepy in these shots. Does our beloved Mr. Elba need to amble in and fire this up? 😉

    • PastryGoddess

He just had a baby. He’d probably fall asleep on top of the hood right now

  • Bridget Smith

I also love that it references Moneypenny’s officewear (which, can we TALK about how much I coveted all her outfits in that movie?).

  • PastryGoddess

That 1 piece of hair is driving me crazy. But yes girl looks good as usual

    • MilaXX

Me too! And I hate those naked shoes.

  • luludexter

Enough with the naked shoes though! Why do celebrities love these so much? They can’t be comfortable and they look stupid…

  • Courtenay P

Lady was made for Burberry. Love this.

  • crash1212

That is a beautiful suit. She could’ve used a stronger face. Love the car.

  • SewingSiren

Bianca Jagger realness. This is a perfect look for her. Sometimes she goes too far with the cutout, slits and sheers. This here is just the right amount.

  • JR Labrador

The Countess has been left waiting for her chauffeur. Heads will roll.

  • Trickytrisha

She’s a little underdone, face and hair wise, IMO. And she continues her love affair with her sternum. But, dang… she’s gorgeous.

  • marlie

Her makeup and hair have looked a lot better, but Naomie still looks great. Way to rock a simple white suit.

  • kt

She needs makeup. The faraway shots look like she’s in a hotel bathrobe getting ready for her car posing session.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I like how the white garments and black accessories help separate her from the cars. So we can see both her and the cars separately as well as together.

  • formerlyAnon

Great suit. Wish she’d done a bit more to her face, and the single lock of hair is a distraction, but those are quibbles.

  • majorbedhead

Whatever about her, I would crawl over dead grannies for the car in the first shot. Holy shit.

  • Jacob Bowen

I’m only okay with STERNUM (capitals necessary, because she wants you to SEE HER STERNUM) because the rest of the outfit is relatively covered up.

  • kimmeister

It’s a nice suit and all, but it does not fit properly in the shoulders.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Too much sternum. Too boring a white suit. And I don’t like her hair. I feel the cars way outdo her in style here.

  • FridaStaire

Her sternum is magnificent! I’m joining Danielle in the back seat. Promise not to wear nude shoes!

  • stephen

how you know you’ve landed on a fashion blog and not a James Bond fanboy or car blog: Over 50 comments in, and no one has said, “Well, the first car she’s standing int front of is actually an Aston Martin DB5; the SECOND car is the Rolls”. So there, I said it.

  • MaggieMae

She’s gorgeous and I want to see her take the fashion world by storm. Ala Lupita.

  • Melanie

sexy lady with sexy cars, can’t get any better. i love that the shoe is called “nudist”.
