I dont love how the pattern runs over the boobs and almost forms a bra. but it is simple and chic. Boring shoes though

      • Anna

You’re right! Cannot un-see that now. Agree with your assessment.

        • BlairBear

thanks, I wish designers would pay attention to where they place their patterns

          • HK4Seven

Oh trust me, they know exactly where they’re putting the pattern.

      • SugarSnap108

Oh no, now I see it, too. A bra made of vines, with a front closure.

      • melisaurus

It makes her waist look larger in comparison actually because it creates a faux-shadow over her breast.

      • kimmeister

The non leafy part is forming a super high cut leotard on her lower half.

    • marlie

It’s a skosh too tight, a little office-y, and lacks color, BUT I still like the dress, and think it suits her. Actually, I want to add it to my work wardrobe. The shoes are cute, too.

      • HomeOfficeGirl

Right. SO safe that I think we can deduct a few points.
Also – she has an uncanny ability to give that same face (gorgeous, natural smile – no complaints!) in all the RC shots we’ve been seeing. Which means, she begging to be turned into a TLO paperdoll.

        • marlie

And it’s a genuine, relaxed smile. Not at all forced or fake.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

        Also, her earrings are GORGEOUS.

I applaud her for moving away from the beige-y nude lipsticks, but I don’t think this pink is quite right either.

        • marlie

Her makeup is maybe a little too “everyday,” but I don’t mind it.

          • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

The whole effect is a little bit “stopping by the event on my way home from work.”

    • @Biting Panda

      BAM! Love it.
Saw your VEEP tweet, Uncles. Very, very cool.

    • http://batman-news.com boweryboy

It looks like a variation of the red and black flocked wallpaper we had in our living room back in the ’70s.

      • Imasewsure

Ours was a “lovely” two toned shade of avocado… ah the 70’s….

        • kirkyo

We had white on white. Presumably so that it wouldn’t clash with the mustard shag carpet.

    • Nancer

A bracelet! Rings! Earrings! And a great dress! Julia, I love your style. You look marvelous!

    • SugarSnap108

I like the dress and jewelry, but somehow this comes off a little dull. A pair of sexy shoes is the answer, I think.

    • skitzfiggitous

The best accessory is actually BEING Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Where can I get one?

      • Denise Alden

        God, isn’t that the truth?!

    • Erica

Hello, pretty lady. Your dress is a LITTLE tight, but I still would like to be your friend. Lunch date later?

    • Coleen

She’s got teeny little peephole boobs. That was the first thing I saw, and no scrolling down will take that image away from my sight.

      • barbarienne

On the one hand, I had the same reaction. On the other hand, how amazing that they are so perfectly symmetrical. Even purchased boobs usually don’t line up perfectly (I have no idea if hers are purchased). That is some good fitting on the dress.

    • Danielle

      Pass on the earrings alone.

    • ashtangajunkie

I’m inclined to love whatever she’s wearing because I want to be JLD when I grow up. I don’t love the dark, conservative dress, but those earrings complete me and she looks great anyway.

    • decormaven

Not fond of how the pattern around the hips adds a broadening effect, but love the bracelet and earrings. She looks good, despite the quibbles.

    • Jessica Freeman

Classy and sophisticated even if the pattern is questionable.

    • Cheryl

I’d like it about 7 centimetres shorter. I little too conservative for my tastes, but it’s fine. Lovely jewellery, and her face looks great.

    • Kitten Mittons

Take a couple inches off, maybe different shoes, and I would be in love. I really really want this dress.

    • Pablo

      The bracelet is gorgeous

    • GinnyThePainter

The Veep wears a Claire Underwood dress!

    • Gatto Nero

      This is fine. Lovely jewelry.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Must she be so chic, classy and talented? Must she? She must.

    • Patrick Cleary

She looks wonderful. It’s a great dress, maybe a little bit too simple, but she does classy/elegant so well, why not?

    • jw_ny

      Julia looks great.

I almost like the dress, but that pattern…I see two old hags talking to each other, on her boobs.

    • Michele

I love this dress and want it for myself!

    • Sam Smith

Can’t wait for Veep, can’t wait for Veep. Luv her, luv her and she looks great.

    • MilaXX

I think the hem could be raised an inch or so, but otherwise I like this.

    • LeelaST

Elegant. Maybe 2 inches off the hem.

    • Michelle Gennari

That skirt length is an abomination. I think the heels need to be higher with that length. But she is ageless and wonderful and I love her no matter what! :)

    • sagecreek

Huh, looks like she has a big presentation at the school board meeting tonight.

    • mrspotts66

love the dress (and the pattern).
i think she’s stunning, in general.

    • MyFavoriteColorIsGlitter

If it weren’t for that atrocious hem length this would be perfect.

    • http://batman-news.com alytoyou

      she needs a red lip

    • Sunraya

Love it but needs to be a couple of inches shorter, right to the knee.

    • TigerLaverada

She’s cute as usual, but just about nobody anywhere ever looks good in a skirt that stops at the widest part of the calf. It always makes legs look stumpy and unnaturally short. Hated it in the 50s and hate the look now.

    • kim bunchalastnames

      i COVET that bracelet.

    • ThaliaMenninger

A tad too tight. Love the shoes, though.

    • OffToSeeHim

I *love* how she looks when she thinks she looks good. Who’s telling her that mid-calf length is her length? She has great legs – cut those off right in the middle of the knee girl!

    • demidaemon

Cute. Much better hemline than her last outing.

    • FridaStaire

      Belt not working!
