Were smiles banned from the event?

  • MK03

    That is one weird-ass dress.

  • lexilexi

She doesn’t look happy to be there. OR, she’s showing her disdain for that dress because it’s one weird unflattering garment.

  • mary mary quite contrary

    damn she looks pissed

  • Glam Dixie

Is there a bitch-face contest going on that I was unaware of?

  • kmk05

She looks particularly unhappy, but damn do I think the makeup is working here. Her face is really striking. Not a fan of anything else, though.

  • sagecreek

It’s a Zosia Mamet lookalike contest!

    • quiltrx

Featuring a new Rob Zombie song, “More Zosia Than Zosia.”

  • Calinda_L

That may not be her dress (or, literally, her shoes, as they’re at least 2 sizes too big), but daaamn if that’s not her face and hair. She looks great from the neck up!

  • @Biting Panda

I’m going with a case of the Newbies. Sister, get thee to a stylist. STAT.

  • israel8491

What a boring dress. Plus boring shoes.

  • kimmeister

There can’t have been any sitting down in that dress.

She has cartoonishly large eyes, so I think dialing it down on the eye makeup and playing up the lips would have worked better.

  • Kitten Mittons

I like the top of the dress, but that tricky skirt is doing her no favors.

  • hughman

I’m pretty sure she works at Barney’s where she pursed her lips, looked me up and down and told me the t-shirt I was holding was “maybe for a man in a different age group.”

*burst into tears, ran from store*

    • Sofia

she does have that look, for sure. but don’t you DARE ever let anyone talk to you like that. give it right back to her!

      • hughman

        Eh. She was right.

        • Sofia

not about being a bitch, she wasn’t.

        • marlie

Unless you asked for her opinion, she should have kept it to herself.

    • decormaven

Hon, you wear what you want to wear, anytime, anyplace. You are golden.

    • Kent Roby

Well I say “Good for her!” for steering you towards something more youthful (I assume that that frock was just too “senior” for you!)

    • TonyGo

Once had a prissy gentleman clerk at Macy’s remind me that the 2 t-shirts I was purchasing were from the Young Men’s department, and informed me this brand was an “athletic” fit. I was not really paying attention, left the store and suddenly realized bitch just called me old and fat in one sentence!

  • Tad awkward “Judy Jetson” vibe…like the color!

  • sagecreek

Apologies for the OT, guys, but I got a new laptop (yay!). I can see T-Lo just fine, but Disqus never loads, so no commenting. Any ideas?

    • hughman

      Try a different browser.

    • Glam Dixie

For some reason I have that problem on my husbands office computer and I just have to keep trying different browsers.

    • Kitten Mittons

If you’re using IE, it might be a plug-in or extension that’s not working, or conflicting with Disqus. Their help section has some info on disabling plug-ins known to cause conflicts. Go to your dashboard, or google “Disqus not loading”, or go straight to help (dot) disqus (dot) com. Hope that helps.

      • sagecreek

Thanks! I reinstalled Chrome and that seemed to take care of it.

  • marlie

Who? Great dress, but she’s not bringing enough “oomph” to really set it off. This dress also calls for a more “done” ‘do, and a complete makeup job. Plus, those shoes are TRAGIC.

    • kimmeister

She’s the Mother in “How I Met Your Mother.”

      • marlie

        She looks rather unpleasant. 😛

        • kimmeister

That’s why I almost didn’t recognize her. Her character in the show is unrelentingly perky and sweet.

  • I think she needs to go back to school and work for her dress-wearing degree. This is a tricky dress and she isn’t carrying it off.

  • Rather than “epic bitchface”, this is “epic boredface”. In fact, her whole look is making me yawn.

  • Anna

    Judy Jetson for David’s Bridal.

  • LadyCelia

That’s an exceptionally awkward looking dress.

  • SayWhaaatNow

This is a dress that could have used a smile, I think..

  • deelup

    What the what?

  • teensmom99

I think the asymmetry of the dress calls for everything else to be impeccable. Here’s a case where a severe updo would have helped. And I say props for trying with the fashion. You went for a PhD dress a little too soon but some of us give As for effort around here.

  • Miss wks

She has no idea how to wear that dress…

  • MoreShoes

I like the dress on the model. On her, it looks depressing.

  • Janet B

You’re an actress, can’t you at least act as if you love being there?

  • rose l. chou

The huge slit was a terrible choice for a seated panel. I watched the livestream, and she looked so uncomfortable keeping her legs crossed tightly the entire time…

  • Nancer

I think her face says it all. This is too much dress for her.

  • MilaXX

That’s some primo resting bitch face right there. Some celebs really need to smile on the RC. It’s Paleyfest and the audience is pretty easy going, relax!

  • Kent Roby

In honor of the new Annie movie, let’s all please sing a rousing chorus of “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile”

  • Kelly

It’s an interesting dress, though the gathering of crotch wrinkles is not particularly flattering. Hate the putty shoes. And is she about to face a firing squad?

  • LipstickForPigs

Tit darts and vag wrinkles. No.

  • Jacob Bowen

We need to start a BK “Just say No (to the Nude Shoe)!” campaign. Wrong deployment.

  • Sally Spannagle

So many hard angles – everywhere

  • B_C_J

The gathered fabric at the lap level is MOST unfortunate.

  • Jessica Freeman

Leave the crazy pleats and gathering to Ms. Westwood.

  • Linda LaPaz

  • a_liking

I thought this was Emmy Rossum at first…. weird.

  • Hermione

    Shoes are horrible.

  • I think she looks miserable because this dress is a bit much for Paleyfest. This isn’t a fancy gig and the structure style takes it to a higher level then it needs to be. And of course, this isn’t her dress.

  • E. D.

She looks pissed and I don’t think horizontal pleating in the hip area is a good idea.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Smile girl, you’re on a red carpet not in front of a firing squad. That is a difficult dress to pull off but more styled hair, some jewelry and a pair of fierce shoes would have helped make it happen.

  • majorbedhead

I think she’s new to this red carpet thing (I am friends with her cousin) and she’s probably a bit overwhelmed by it all. But yes, this dress was not a good idea. For anyone.

  • LeelaST

    Horrible dress.

  • JynxTheCat

Its like Allyson Hannigan and Jennifer Love-Hewett had a daughter together.

  • quiltrx

Why does she look so disgusted with us?
Maybe she’s just realized this is not a flattering dress AT ALL.

  • judybrowni

Girl could use a sandwich, a smile, and a pair of shoes that fit.

  • FridaStaire

I love the pointiness of it all!

  • luluransom

    How very… wrinkly?

  • rage_on_the_page

  • The dress looks better on her than it does the model. Or maybe it’s a standing still dress, not a walking one.

  • MartyBellerMask

I hate to give her a hard time since she’s kind of a red carpet novice (which leaves it completely ok to bash her costars), but this is just soo bad. Lik really bad in every way. Like noting positive about anything going on here.
