Emerald Green Power Suit, be my Valentine.

    • Glam Dixie

Can you imagine having that for St. Patrick’s Day?

    • Rhonda Shore

      I covet that suit!!!

  • Danielle

I wish we had a close up of those shoes. Are they heels? Are they sneakers? No one will ever know.

    • siedhr

I too would like a better look at the shoes.

    • Sarah

I have seen enough of them to know that I HATE THEM and they should BURN in the FIRE OF A THOUSAND SUNS.

    • kimmeister

All I know is, from the front, they look like falcons or some other kind of bird. Maybe those owls with the ear tufts?

    • BackseatDriver

They look like narrow wedge heels, on a sneaker-esque stacked sole. And yes, what Sarah said.

  • Lucía Gavello

    Poor Jennifer Lawrence…

    • Lori

Seriously. How much longer does her contract tie her to this ongoing train wreck?

      • Lucía Gavello

And you just KNOW she’s going to end up with one of those things with shoelaces or worse… that half quilted blue and pink abomination on the fourth pic *shudder*.

      • filmcricket

She apparently just re-upped, so: another 3 years?

        • Sarah

Daang. Hope they pay her a LOT.

          • http://kittysdrawings.com Esz

            $15 million I think…… YEP

        • Lucía Gavello

At least her ads are pretty.

        • Lori

W.T.F? Has she not seen herself in their clothes?

    • Inês Martins

      hahaha sooo true!

    • demidaemon

      EXACTLY.

    • Dam_Angel

What a disjointed and overly complicated collection!

    • barbarienne

She could possibly pull off the black quilted dress, if it was styled a la Katniss Everdeen. Otherwise this is a world of things that will look awful on her.

      • Lucía Gavello

She could pull off that one, and that’s why I know she’s not getting it, they’re probably sending it to Marion Cotillard right about now.

        • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

Maybe Dior is in a secret conspiracy to ruin her career.

  • Glam Dixie

In my imaginary super rich jet-setting life, I wouldn’t wear any of these things except for the red coat.

  • MilaXX

Not really loving any of this. Jackets are too boxy, coats are crazy, dresses are too voluminous on the bottom. Most of this collection is just too shapeless.

  • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

It is a sad day when you look at a collection like this and think how much nicer it is than the last lot!

    • demidaemon

I thought that for about four looks in. Then it went downhill, fast.

    • marlie

“Well, it’s not as bad as the last one.” Not a ringing endorsement.

  • Alyssa

Run JLaw…run away from this as fast as you can!!!

    • KinoEye

I bet they’re just itching to stick her in that pink mullet dress. Or that white one with the stupid dust ruffle at the bottom. Eek.

  • tereliz

Meh. Suiting is kind of staid, if impeccably fit. Hate the shoes and the lace-up/split-down dresses. Not that crazy about some of the less-traditional looks—like bedding turned clothing—either. Lots of quilting and puffy filling. Hmmm. Raf Simons for Bed Bath and Beyond…

  • Adrianna Grężak

Short sleeve coats make as much sense as sleeveless turtlenecks…

    • kimmeister

Sleeveless turtlenecks are nice under blazers . . .

      • alyce1213

One of my favorite sweaters is a sleeveless cashmere turtleneck that I splurged on, specifically to wear under jackets — it’s much less bulky and cooler (temperature). Turns out, it looks good without a jacket and with bracelets, too.

        • kimmeister

My shoulders are so broad that they fill up jackets to the brim without having to compete for room with more fabric over the shoulder, yet a turtleneck is nice for when my neck gets cold and I don’t want to deal with a scarf getting in the way. Also, it’s much easier to wear cardigans over sleeveless tops (turtleneck or not), as no weird visible bulk is created by the sleeve underneath.

        • Farthingale

I have this in i olive cashmere and it works very well in many ways.

  • KinoEye

Not my favorite, but the colors are nice. I really, really hate the way their hair is done — slicked back but loose. Looks greasy. Yick.

JLaw and Stylist(s) of JLaw: Never in your career has it been more important to just say no.

  • Sarah

I like the colors in that first look – POW! I’m not really sure mortals can wear these items and be flattered by them, though.

    • demidaemon

I’m pretty sure most of these are FMO and the rest just should be incinerated now, as they are FNWE.

      • Sarah

For No Woman Ever? (You are so right)

        • demidaemon

          You got it!

  • frannyprof

Good luck getting JLaw into any of these. I don’t get it.

  • @Biting Panda

Well I hate it. Probably because I know they’re going to be forcing JLaw to wear some of it.

    • alyce1213

I’m hard pressed to find anything that suits her. Maybe the first red dress and jacket (without the scarf) — I’m grasping. I just don’t want her to look like a damn fool in this stuff.

    • demidaemon

      So with you.

  • decormaven

Tuck n roll stitching is a fashion trend?

  • http://ayearofmommyhood.blogspot.com/ Tabby_abby

    Ugh.

I guess I am unsophisticated, but I feel that I could find better at the mall (and not the upscale one).

  • mishka

Most of it looks really awkward…

  • Gatto Nero

The final nail in Dior’s coffin.

  • Kitten Mittons

It’s all so tricky, in an awkward way. Different for the sake of being different, but not one piece strikes me as something I’d want to wear or look at for very long.
I do like the colors. Other than that, I defer to Nina’s tried and true “not aesthetically pleasing.”

    • Let it out

Yep, that’s Simons to a tee. Everything has to have an extra fold or twist, or an awkward embellishment. I’m not sure who wants to get out of their limo already looking sloppy, but that’s Dior these days.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

It’s as if Simons has to add a detail, use a technique or do something fussy to prove that he’s creative….NOT.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

I am coming down with a cold, and did not need to see that hot pink with my poor irritated eyes today. But I do like that half-sleeve long red coat. And that last dress is so my style, glittery but casual.

  • Lesley

once upon a time Dior was sophisticated and classic, sigh.

  • alyce1213

That was exhausting. So, sleeveless or short-sleeved coats and transparent maxi-shmattas over long bedazzled undershirts are a thing?
From the House of Dior? (cue Beethoven’s Fifth)

  • LipstickForPigs

    What the actual fuck.

  • Synnae

Granted a few coats are nice and that black pencil skirt is welcome in my closet but I’m already dreading Jennifer Lawrence’s Hunger Games PR pole dance later this year. Poor girl…

  • PastryGoddess

JLaw and Marion need to give that cash money back and run for the hills. This is getting ridiculous.

  • Blair Sylvester

the corset lacing on suits and overcoats is great for the former madame or prostitute who is trying to go legitimate but wants to reference her roots

  • Evan

    The Emperor’s New Clothes

  • Ginmaru

These look like some of the dresses I made my troll dolls out of felt.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I suspect your troll dolls had more style than these poor models.

  • kittenwithaquip

I should not hate looking at a Dior collection as much as I do. I do not get Raf Simons “vision”, unless it’s to make a famous label into a laughingstock.

  • Pennymac

Dior gives me the sads these days….

  • LJCdoc

    Poor J.Law.

  • sleepycat

dear god the mighty Doir has fallen. I am going to say that Galliano* was better. This is such a misstep.

*This doesn’t allow him to be an ass or anti-semitic

    • http://kittysdrawings.com Esz

He was better. Much much better. I am sad that he’s such an asshole.

    • Evan

I’m part Jewish and I want him back. His punishment has been enough.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

Yes, Galliano was much, much better. (And while he MAY be an ass and anti-semitic, he is most certainly an alcoholic. I hope he is successful in cleaning up and rehabilitating himself because I have always loved him as a designer.)

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Yes, Galliano was a far better designer.

  • Latin Buddy

This is NOT damn Dior. What I hate the most is the arrogance from this designer. I’m sure when he hears that he’s been fired, he’s simply say that “they didn’t get it.” Excuse me, these are aesthetically NOT pleasing or flattering.

    • Evan

He should just stick to men’s clothes or beg for his job back at Jil Sander.

  • Truthiness2U

This is NOT Dior. Like it started out and first few, and I thought ‘okay, maybe they’ve gotten back, possibly?’ and then it all went horribly awry. Terrible. Seriously. Utter waste. There isn’t anything DIOR here. And if they want to be different? Well there are tons of other lines that are doing “youthful” or “avant” much better than they are.

So in the sad attempt to be something else, they are destroying their image/look they did have, that was great. They’re totally New Coke-ing it up.

  • SugarSnap108

Nothing says Dior like a lace-up detail. What IS this?

  • RescueMe23

I want that dress that looks stitched up the side..Yowza!

  • anotherkate

The coats are to die for, but I’m not otherwise too crazy about it. I liked the shimmery blue confetti gown, but not what they put under it.

  • EveEve

Every woman wants to spend $bazillion to wear a trapunto quilt dress. Or a nursery school “learn to lace your shoes” dress. Amiright?

  • Qitkat

At least someone has found a use for all the oversized shoelaces leftover since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar retired.

  • Susan Velazquez

Poor Jennifer Lawrence. Is her contract up yet?

  • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

NEVER has MINIMALISM been soooo contrived, overworked and tedious. What a bore!

  • Akmall Razlan

colour blocking all over again but hey those are still in, love it so much. But the leather skirts seemed a little bit heavy, dont you think?

  • KT

    So many brightly colored turds.

    • demidaemon

Yes. I do wonder what the designer ate to shit these out.

  • demidaemon

I was going to say this looked like an improvement for Dior. Then I got to the dresses over dresses. And the half dresses over dresses. And then the bell-shaped dress. And I said, “NO. This must be stopped before any poor lady star is forced into one of these hideousities.”

  • BackseatDriver

This reads as a love letter to felted suiting wool, in really awkward shapes. The collection is ok, but I take more issue with the hair/makeup team. Did they go out of their way to make these models look as homely as possible?

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

There are a few (FEW) pretty looks, but mostly I get the feeling that Raf Simons hates the brand, because why else would you crap all over the New Look like this?

  • Lower L

I like the dark olive green opera gloves in the 4th picture. Also, why the hell does the last dress in the large photos even exist AT ALL, let alone on a Dior runway?

  • marlie

A couple of the coats and maybe one of two of the dresses are pretty great, but the rest isn’t thrilling me. Rather, I’m looking at it in fear of which ugly pieces they’re going to make JLaw wear over the next year.

  • Trickytrisha

    Just no. Thanks, but no.

  • Ediths_Head

So very many Frankendresses! And coats without sleeves! He knows women can’t wear furniture, right?

  • The Counselor

HATE the one-dress-over-another effect! Very thickening to the body.

  • DinnerIsServed1972

What the frack is up with Dior?
But I will gladly take the Persian lamb and that green pantsuit. The rest should be burned.

  • Kimberly Wilcox

I”m not sure what’s worse…the dress over a dress look; or the dresses that look like they’re made out of quilts. The jackets look mostly nice and classic, but the rest of it seems just a little too bizarre. And, please, explain to me the scarf with the ruffle, I mean, is that part of the dress? it sort of looks like it might be part of the dress.

  • Ashleigh

    uh………………………..hmm…………………………

  • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

I hate the whole collection and I dread seeing Jennifer Lawrence in any of these.

  • Sylvari

I seriously hate what this man has done to my beautiful house of Dior. *sigh*

  • kategs

    Poor JLaw…

  • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

At least it’s interesting. He’s really playing with volume here and, while I don’t yet know if it will work on non-models, I’m digging it. The split pink-over-green and blue-over-red dresses are of particular interest, though I think it would take a very young woman to wear them.

  • Deedles

Good goddess. When did Dior turn into purveyors of sad sack PR rejects?

  • FionaTF

I wonder which awful one J. Law will be forced to wear. They seem to pick the dresses that are most unflattering for her. I’d take a guess but there are so many bad ones that I can’t really narrow it down.

  • Sabin

Ugly, awkward, *and* boring. That’s quite a feat.

  • JynxTheCat

the brand has become a parody a caricature of itself – I think much of this looks cheap and more, silly. However I will take the pink asym dress thank you.

  • SierraDelta

No wonder JLaw looks so GTNYD these days.

  • guest2visits

Oh Jennifer… just take the pink coat and RUN….

  • vickilu

    Dior is dead.

  • Sara Brams-Miller

I’m sincerely hoping that JLaw’s run with them is over.
