      Shoulda kept the belt.

      • @Biting Panda

I’d like a belt, but not white, since she went there with the shoes.

    • Danielle

I like this a lot more than I thought I would. The lip color is perf.

      • VicD

I KNOW! The dress is pretty blah on its own, but she wears it we well.

    • Emily Smith

Huh. I actually really like this.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

Another fancy tennis dress. I don’t really love this trend, but she does look as good as a woman in pointy white shoes can hope to.

      • teensmom99

Tennis dress is her look . . .

        • heartbot

Agreed. It really works for her.

      • marlie

I agree. It’s… fine, but I still see a tennis dress/ice skater costume. But the color looks good on her, and it fits, so…

Only of the only times I have ever approved of a white pump. She looks gorgeous. Amazing how that shade of gray brings out her eyes. Who knew?

    • In_Stitches

I really want to like this because it’s a chic, minimalist dress with a funky detail, rendered in a sophisticated color, but it just isn’t working on Cameron. It might work if she changed up her head styling. Minimalist makeup and a ponytail are called for here. Rooney Mara would know what to do.

    • barbarienne

      1. needs the belt.
      2. needs to be a different color. Gray really isn’t good on her. If it were bluer/periwinkle that might be enough, but I could wish for it to be brighter in general.

The cut and fit are good, and I like the overall style of the dress. Pleats are always kicky, and suit Ms. Diaz’s public persona.

    • RoseJB

I hated these dresses on the runway. Cameron makes it look kind of cute.

    • BlairBear

Great dress. not loving the white pumps with it.

    • @Biting Panda

I like it. Even if the flip side is that she’s looking a little tennis-y while at a white collar women’s prison.

    • jw_ny

it’s cute on her….certainly has the legs for it. She kinda looks like she just threw the dress on though, grabbed some basic shoes, slapped on some lipstick, and out the door she ran. Not a lot of effort or thought went into this.

    • JauntyJohn

I think losing the belt and the sleeves takes a lot of interest away. The color certainly makes her eye pop.
Honestly, I think this layered business with the asymmetrical hem over another color/fabric could be terrific — I just am not digging it with the private school pleated skirt business.
For a minute I wanted to bitch about no earrings — or no visible earrings, anyway — and how that might dress the overall look up a bit more, but then I realized no ear jewelery makes it all about her eyes, which is really working.

      • cluecat

Agree, I actually like all of the elements on the runway better, including the nude shoes (which are hated here!) Without the belt it looks very unflattering and tight on her midsection, like she has belly roll, but I think it’s just cut wrong for her shape. Tailoring would have helped.

Yeah Victoria Beckham seems to just slap random stuff together, the peekabo skirt is weird.

    • frannyprof

      *yawn.* what?

    • KendraMR

Wait, are those split ends? Nevertheless, it’s a cute tennis dress.

    • deelup

Needs some jewelry somewhere and to have her hair trimmed. Otherwise adorable.

      • Introspective

not trimmed. CUT. too much money and too many stylists to choose from for you to look like this cammie.

    • http://tvblogster.blogspot.com Boop

Love the dress. But I think white shoes (high heels and the like) are for brides and sexy nurse costumes.

    • MilaXX

Not loving her hair and she could use a few bracelets.

    • KT

I think she looks pretty cute in this, but it seriously needs some oomph to take it up a notch. The dress is way too basic as is –she needs a belt, a necklace, or possibly even both. The shoes are fine, but overall this looks a little underdone.

    • Gatto Nero

So dull. Without the white sleeves and belt (as styled on the model), the pleated white skirt peeking out makes no sense, and even looks like a mistake.

    • Evan

Clean lines are her best friend. She’s definitely a Victoria Beckham or Calvin Klein kind of girl. She just has that “no fuss” personality.

    • ashtangajunkie

Not her colour and I much prefer the runway styling with the belt and sleeves.

    • Carla_Charlton

Except for the shoes, this looks great. Maybe it’s a touch too tight.

    • dorothea_brooke

She occupies the top stop on my irrational celebrity hate list. I hate this dress, her lipstick, and white shoes. HATE.

    • Noah

      Slip is showing… oh wait.

    • Coleen

Yes to the sleeves, no to losing the belt.

    • crash1212

Cute. I like her modifications, but think a belt of some sort was needed. I like her head – with the exception of those ratty ends. Lord girl, get a trim for heaven’s sake.

    • Shug

Want that dress. Shoes are slightly matchy but I think that works here.

    • KinoEye

      Honey, your slip is showing.

    • SirLouie

It’s not a terrific dress –put rollerskates with it, give either of them a tray, and ask them to start taking orders. The runway looks is better. The dress as she’s wearing it is perfectly nice, but boring.

    • formerlyAnon

If you are going to wear a dress just a shade or two darker than dove grey, with no other color near your face, this is very cute and works well.

    • Pennymac

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but the white shoes with this look don’t horrify!

    • melisaurus

This is probably too short for her. But I think this is a nice change for her. Maybe minimal should be her thing, especially minimal & flirty detail.

OOC: According to other people Cameron is my doppleganger (as you can see based on my avatar). The older she gets the more she looks like my mom, who is 50.

    • StillGary

      Love the 80s vibe!

    • Meg

Praise Jesus for the return of lipstick! Needs a belt.

    • Sunraya

I hate the Joker lipstick. Some women need to be careful with the bright lips, and I think she is one of them. I think the dress skews “cheerleader” young, but it does look good on her.

    • TigerLaverada

I like it better without the belt, it looks cleaner and sleeker to me. She looks good, and I’m hoping the washed out lip syndrome is over.

    • Nancer

      Cute! I LOVE her lipstick.

    • kim bunchalastnames

cute, but the white shoes: no. and the hair? a cute bob would work so much better than those wispy wannabe locks,

    • cwade1211

Cute, but I think it would be cuter with the belt and white elbow under-sleeves like the model’s.

    • decormaven

I like the runway version better- the white sleeve detail and white belt pull the elements of gray and white together, unifying the body of the dress and the pleated skirt. Here, along with the strong lip color, my eye stops at the bodice area, where I am distracted by the straggly hair ends. I know the hair is artfully ironed that way, but it still looks straggly to me.

    • http://www.bertkeeter.com Bert Keeter

      Fresh!

    • Dan_In_NYC

Like it a lot more with a belt.

    • Pablo

I like this, it fits her body perfectly

    • kimmeister

For once I actually agree with the decision to skip the belt. She looks leggy enough just as she is.

    • E. D.

That’s a terrible color on her.

    • Jacob Bowen

I think she can skip the belt and add the sleeves back in, because without them or the belt the white tennis skirt comes out of nowhere.

    • Carly Clement

A perfect example of right dress for right Girl… Cameron Diaz is so athletic that this dress really does sing on her because of the athletic aesthetic of this VB collection! and I think the belt would come off as a bit fussy on the read carpet and would have chopped her in half. Cameron should keep this up!!

    • Granny panties

Love this. Suits Cam’s sporty vide.

    • SorayaS

Needs a black belt and black shoes. Stunning hair and makeup which is quite rare for our Cameron!

    • Columbinia

      Very pretty.

    • colorjunky

Get rid of the 2012 hair extensions!

    • Anna

She makes me want to play a game of super-fashionable tennis.

    • demidaemon

Why the tennis skirt ruffle? Why? That ruins the whole sleekness of the dress. Yuck.
