    • Diego!

Hate me, but I LOVE this!!!! She looks gorgeous!

      • Tatiana Luján

I love everything, except the hair, which is too tight.

        • Diego!

In the last pic she looks as if she is going to take out her katana and start kicking some butts LOL xD

        • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

Thight hair is a poor man’s lifting. That’s an old Lucille Ball trick. :D

          • Wendi126

I first read that as thigh hair…

            • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

              sorry for the misspelling :D

        • lamamu

She’s working that Croydon Facelift better than Posh did back in the day!

          • Kate4queen

Ha! Croydon facelift, I must remember that one. :)

          • vitaminC

            <3

      • Lucía Gavello

I’d hate it on anyone else. I guess you could say it’s a “BE ME” look, as in “don’t you wish you could pull this off”.

        • Katesymae

I do wish I could pull it off… right off her, to be thrown into a furnace somewhere!

      • poorellensmith

I think it’s really stunning and chic, right down to (or up to) the earrings. LOVE it.

    • sagecreek

That’s a lot of extra material, even for a tall gal.

    • Lizzyisi

      Arresting.

    • @Biting Panda

Uma has been bringing it lately. She’s got the crazy eyes and I love it!!

    • MilaXX

She’s giving good face, but I don’t think I love the clothes.

      • sagecreek

        I don’t either…that blouse is just plain ill-fitting.

        • MilaXX

yep and her boobs look wonky

          • Janet B

I’d like to think she’s wearing her ‘special’ bra, the one that makes her feel spectacular until she puts on clothes.

          • Dam_Angel

I bet Joan is going to put her on the worst dressed list.

        • leahpapa

Yes! And in the first shot, the unfortunate placement of that spotlight had me scrolling up and down for several minutes; it looks like she has a chest goiter. And oh, how I would love “Uma” appliqued in that upper chest rectangle for some body shop realness.

          • kimmeister

Yeah, that rectangle totally looks like a name tag.

        • ConnieBV

          That’s because it’s pajamas.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I quite love the skirt but the blouse looks a little big like a karate gi. I am confused by the hair.

        • Wendi126

I could like that skirt with a white t-shirt ala Sharon stone

        • Jacob Bowen

Thank you! Karate gi was the EXACT description I was looking for!

      • marlie

I don’t “not love” the clothes. I HATE the clothes.

        • Trent

THANK YOU. I couldn’t figure out what I was missing. The top looks like an oversized sweatshirt, and the skirt looks like a Hefty bag with a train. Not your outfit, Uma.

        • sojourneryouth

Completely agree. Everything is baggy, wonky, and unflattering. Also, her makeup looks off. Besides the fact that she is wearing A TON of it, her foundation looks chalky in some of these photos.

          • marlie

I agree. It *may* be that her makeup looks chalky because of the lighting/camera flashes, but I’d think that her “people” could have planned for that?

            • SugarSnap108

I think it is the lighting. Her face looks much better in certain shots, like the third one. The clothes, however, are ugly from all angles.

            • demidaemon

              AGREED. Hideous outfit.

        • random_poster

I agree, and I dramatically weep. I loves me some Uma, so this is equivalent of a slap on the face. Why, Uma? Why?

      • SierraDelta

        I KNOW I don’t love the clothes.

    • Jessica Freeman

The top would be a great blouse with skinny black pants. I hate that skirt.

    • boweryboy

The skirt looks really, really wrinkly but I’m liking the overall effect.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Its cause its silk taffeta, which will wrinkle if you gaze at it too intently.

        • demidaemon

I knew it was one of those evil fabrics, like satin and linen. Thank you for identifying it.

    • Tracy_Flick

NO NO NO NO. The hair and makeup. Good lord. So aging. That first picture is pure “I’m ready for my closeup, Mr. DeMille.” The top looks like ill-fitting pajamas, and the skirt looks like it’s made out of those cheap garment bags they give you to tote a dress home in.

      • Imasewsure

I like the outfit itself but as you say the hair and makeup is tres Desmond!

      • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

Yeah, I can’t believe anyone likes this look. It’s atrocious.

      • marlie

That’s EXACTLY what I thought (and typed, before I read the other comments).

      • jen_vasm

Her head is serving up Joan Collins over-powdered realness.

    • Sarah

I heart Uma, but that’s a bit of a fancy jammy top, innit?

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Love the skirt, hate the top of the dress – too big on her. Other than that – STUNNING!

    • http://piblet.tumblr.com/ Anastasia

The first photo is unfortunate, but because I’ve been an Uma fan since her Gattaca days, she will always make eccentric things like this work for me.

Her shirt and the cinched waist on the skirt reminds me of a Torero (bullfighter), though, partly because of the material.

    • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

I don’t care! I’m sticking my fingers in my ears and humming so I can’t hear anything negative. I love Uma with the intensity of a thousand white suns. She is my spirit animal, I am sure of it.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

A bit to much undefined volume up top, otherwise I love this.

      • CPK1

undefined volume. Love this phrase. I am going to use it today if it kills me.

      • ballerinawithagun

When I went back to look at the “undefined” I couldn’t believe my eyes, they are dolman sleeves! Really huge, bulky dolman sleeves that are not meant to be tucked into a voluminous skirt. That skirt is fabulous! And then it wasn’t tucked in correctly. It is being pulled to the back increasing the weird bust look. This is one of those times when if you are wearing an unwieldy shirt that you have to tuck the shirt into your undergarments (whatever they may be) and make sure that everything is evenly distributed before you put on the skirt. (I know not a pretty image….)

    • jw_ny

That top and skirt do not belong in the same outfit…nor does the top go with those earrings. The top is the problem. And, that light in the background is giving her an unfortunate phantom boob in one shot, and the light in the foreground is giving her a tit-shelf in another..

    • Judy_S

I love this. She looks like a real woman wearing wonderful clothes. A total “Be Me” so far as I’m concerned. (It’s funny because I often found her to be the weak spot in a film I otherwise liked–I think I like her more as a well-dressed, intelligent-looking woman than as a movie star.)

      • Kent Roby

It’s definitely not a “Do Me”; her nether region would need a GPS tracking device to help someone find it underneath all that fabric!

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Depends what her fetish is. She could have a whole town of oompaloompas getting busy under there.

          • Kent Roby

“Uma’s Oompa Loompas”; it’s got a nice ring to it!

    • RussellH88

Elle Driver must have picked this outfit out for her.

    • Kent Roby

I think Uma looks dramatic and beautiful, but the top is bothering me with that skirt, probably because I have the clean classic Carolina Herrera white shirt paired with it in my mind. In spite of that, I can’t hate.

    • deelup

I suspect this looked amazing in person. In these photos it’s a bit wonky.

    • Alyssa

I want to see a full view of that hair…it looks insane!

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

It looks like the sort of thing Gwen Stefani used to do – lots of little tight buns.

        • Alyssa

That’s the impression I got from it too..very un-Uma, IMO.

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

How old are her kids? It sort of looks like the kind of thing a 5 year old would inflict on you.

            • Alyssa

Per IMDB, they are 15, 12, and 1 1/2…likely no excuse there…unless one of the older ones is obsessed with Gwen and wanted mom to try it. Also, that’s one reason I keep my hair short…so my 5 1/2 year old can’t torture it!

      • Katesymae

1998 prom hair – all it needs is the sparkly butterfly clips!

    • Ruth Preston

That’s a whole lot of skirt, and isn’t she like nine feet tall? Also, does anyone else think that one rectangle on the blouse should have a name embroidered on it? Spike? Dutch? Dave?

    • Sara__B

I like this. It’s not perfect — she needed to readjust the blouse (it needs pulling down a bit in the front) and that hairdo looks painfully tight — but the overall look is striking, surprisingly elegant, and unexpected.

    • Betsy

She looks so stunning that I am willing to overlook that weird top. She can really pull anything off, imho.

    • Mismarker

Uma must have an amazing medspa; Girl hasn’t aged since 1986.

    • quiltrx

Her hair appears to be pulling her face out of shape LOL. But she’s fabulous, and that skirt is fabulous. The top is a kind of odd–I think part of it is being shot from underneath, and part is that it needs to be pulled down in front…but that can’t be all of it, it’s just plain odd. But I love that she took the risk just the same instead of wearing something safe and boring.

    • guyfromhoboken

It looks like she put on her husbands pajama top on the way out the door and tucked it into the skirt.

    • alyce1213

The volume of the top is too much for actual wear. Without being revised or tailored, it’s a bit editorial for a red carpet.

    • mcbishop

Skirt looks like taffeta……think of the sound……love this!

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

I love the blouse but it doesn’t go with that skirt and the black taffeta of the skirt looks kind of tortured.

    • LeelaST

That blouse is a little too “Sushi Chef” for me. Is her hair tied back in those painful looking knots doing double-duty as a face-lift?

      • calimon

        nailed it!

    • Cheryl

Looking at this, I’m craving bimimbap.

    • maggiemaybe

The skirt is gorgeous, as is her amazing face, but that blouse looks pajamas to me.

    • JauntyJohn

      Face. FACE.
      She is giving us Face.

While I hate the weird poofiness and loose gathering where the top meets the bottom (that bottom with a dramatic, snug top might be stunning) none of it matters in these shots.

That is Real God Damn Movie Star Face, and we can all be lucky she doesn’t let her gaze linger, lest we burn.

    • traceyishere

The skirt has lines in it from being packed in something so they should have steamed it.

    • AzSportsGirl

That last full-length shot of her on the steps is stunning. The light on her neck and hair from the spot is breathtaking.

    • stellamaris73

For one insane moment I thought this was Fergie.

      • Shawn EH

Fergie or Shirley Manson, I can’t decide.

    • EEKstl

She is gorgeous but I am just not feeling this. Too much volume. And the shirt is schleppy.

    • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

Every last bit of it is an aging train wreck. She desperately needs a new stylist. Desperately.

    • kimmeister

This is one of those rare instances when I think the makeup is a little too matte. Not that I want her to be shiny, I’d just like to see some luminescence.

    • belfebe

      Luv!

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

Yes to that top with skinny jeans or leather pants and killer heels, yes to that skirt with an even slightly closer-fitting top (I would even accept a crisp white button-down.) No to them together.

    • River

Don’t like the top and someone needs to have a come to Jesus talk with her makeup people.

    • marlie

What is this? Uma is wearing a slouchy trashbag skirt, and a pajama shirt. I can’t tell if it’s the lighting/flashes, but her makeup is too harsh, and is washing her out. And 1996 hair. Sorry, Uma, it’s not working for me.

      • demidaemon

Thank you. Someone else noticed what this is: a trashbag skirt.

    • Qitkat

Such elegance, neck, face and hair. I would like this better if the blouse did not have the name tag plate, and if it were pulled down in front and tucked in more snuggly; the neckline seems as if it is not sitting properly on the back of her neck.

    • Garcia Loca

I think Uma’s facial expression says it all.

    • Little_Olive

Not crazy about the waist treatment and the tightness of the hair, but otherwise, LOVE. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
I so admire a gal who can pull a fully covered outfit in this world of bandage dresses.

    • Beardslee

I like this for her but I don’t know how much I like it on its own. That’s a whole lotta fabric. But since some of that fabric is deployed on sleeves, I can only rejoice!

    • Dennis

I’m sorry, I thought that was Norma Desmond

      • Sabin

        Perfect.

      • bellafigura1

Hmn, I said that in the last Uma thread and got my head handed to me.

    • Sabin

It really bothers me that she looks nothing like herself now, after presumably too much/bad plastic surgery. I’d rather see her aging as herself.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Her head looks amazing. Good thing it’s floating safely out of the way of that Titanic Iceberg of a dress.

    • E. D.

Love the makeup, skirt, and earrings. Hate everything else.

    • DeniseSchipani

Oh, Uma! She looks like her own well-preserved grandma.

    • Lilyana_F

That last pic sold me, she’s making it work.

    • Clash D

Hair’s too tight and that skirt doesn’t photograph well. Looks like garbage bag material.

    • colorjunky

Looks like a straight jacket up top

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

I rather enjoy the misbuttoned-pajama-top-with-a-wrap-tarp look and Uma’s the girl to wear it. The hair, though, makes me sad. It looks harsh and aging.

    • LaSylphide

Is she standing oddly, or is the blouse making it look like she’s standing oddly? Peculiar outfit.

    • luludexter

She looks beautiful I love most of this but that top has got to go. it’s just too big with such a voluminous skirt, she needs something a little bit more form fitting or at least tailored.

    • elzatelzabelz

It all looks slightly askew-deliberate, but weird.

    • demidaemon

That’s a garbage bag skirt if I ever saw one.

    • fananafanafophalec

Ugh I’m sorry madame thurman I think you must have gotten lost; you’re not on the set of Kill Bill anymore.

    • GeoDiva

Her hair really ages her, but I love the outfit.

    • amanda lynn

I can’t imagine the pain that she went through to get her hair that way. Yowch!!

    • in a pickle

None of that works for me, but the biggest offenders are the too white, flour face and too harshly pulled back hair. Her face needed some warning up for these pics.

    • a_liking

actually think this dress is pretty fug but girl is WORKIN it.

    • Joey Melliza

side shots look great – fortals – baglady cray-cray realness

    • SorayaS

It should be dreadful but she is SELLING IT. Love.

    • ovarB

Baroness Von Schrader wants nothing of this cinematic bullshit and demands to know why the children have not been sent off to boarding school yet. Oh Gaylord?!!!

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

A rare ‘go home and start over’ from Ms. Thurman.

    • Karen Tamarack

      Holy shit this is bad.

    • MannahattaMamma

love the skirt, love the blouse if the weird pajama pocket detail were taken off, plus she’s just so damn beautiful to look it

    • Andy Brent

Really should have gone with a regular bra instead of a strapless/bustier/whateverthefug is holding her up :/

    • GillianHolroyd

The blouse collar is creeping down the back of her neck. Not a good look.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

      Shirt doesn’t fit. But FACE!
