Oprah Winfrey at the 2014 Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Miss Oprah is FEELING IT at the moment, and that makes this look a total “BE ME.”

Oprah Winfrey attends the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival – Oprah Winfrey was honored with The Montecito Award.

We, however, are not feeling it. In particular, we’re not feeling that belt. She’s been rocking a very fitted and corseted silhouette all throughout her return to the red carpet poledance in the last year. We think it’s a look that’s served her really well and you can tell she got more confident in it over time. Now, we love the top and the skirt and we can understand why she’d want to cinch herself up, but that top is pulled too tight on her and the belt just doesn’t look like it goes. It doesn’t help that it’s crooked. No, we’re sorry, Oprah. We know how much you live for our approval, but we’re afraid this one needs some serious tweaking.

She needs to fire whomever does her undergarments. When you’re Oprah, I think you can afford some better support.

      • boweryboy

Her last few looks her support was on point, but I’m feeling you with this one. Her girls look tired.

      • Janet B

        • j regan p

That’s THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE. Why, Oprah?

          • majorbedhead

*whew* I thought it was just me. I’m glad I’m not the only one noticing that.

      • j regan p

Why is one hanging lower than the other? Seriously?

        • rabswom

I was thinking that the crooked belt made the boobs look crooked? Unsure.

        • Meg0GayGuys6

Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a know?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw em over your shoulder like a continental soldier?
          Do your boobs. hang. low?

          Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

          • Gener1c

I can’t tell you how often this version gets sung in my house full of busty (maybe sometimes droopy) women!

        • sagecreek

J regan, in case you are really asking?

Oprah is left-handed. It’s not uncommon for the dominant side of a woman’s body to ride a little higher, so to speak, simply because those pectoral muscles are used more often.

Now, as to why her fitter didn’t compensate? That’s a really good question!

          • Constant Reader

I didn’t know that! Thanks for the info! (I will not go and check my pecs…)

      • sagecreek

It also kind of looks like the bra is white, but that could be the lights.

      • YoungSally

She usually has great support….maybe it was a serious strap malfunction.

This may be the ultimate titscrepancy.

        • barbarienne

I’m going with this theory. I’ve had days when I put on a really good bra, head out the door with the girls looking high and proud, and round about lunch time go to the bathroom and see in the mirror that one’s gone walkabout. It’s always a bra strap that slid open too much. You can never tell when it’s going to happen, when a formerly dependable bra is going to do that. It’s like coming out to your car in a mall parking lot and discovering one of the tires has gone soft. Sometimes it just happens.

      • AnguaVonUberwald

The first word that came to my mind was “cattywampus”.

Hate the drop waist grass skirt.

    • nannypoo

Hmmm… I feel I should practice my piano lesson.

      • kimmeister

Yes, that was the exact impression I got too!

    • Sif

      Hi, LIlo. Where’s Stitch?

    • charlotte

Oprah’s whole life is a “be me”.

    • Hetha Innis

The belt looks straight to me, but the boobs do not.

      • sagecreek

Happens to the best of us :)

        • Hetha Innis

          Ain’t that the truth.

    • hughman

      It’s very Oprah does “Pippin”.

      • JauntyJohn

        she’s got magic to do
        just for you

    • homofascist

She gets the Montecito Award because she pretty much owns 75% of Montecito…

    • Kelly Sowers

      I don’t think it’s the *belt* that’s crooked… o_O

    • claudemtl777

i keep expecting a soapy car to pop out from under that skirt

    • MissusBee

Isn’t Oprah’s whole brand ‘Be Me’?

Is the world ready for ‘Do Me’ Oprah? Clearly she is beautiful and all. But, like a ‘Do Me’ Elizabeth II, some things just aren’t meant to be.

Cue thesis on women’s credibility versus sex appeal.

    • jw_ny

She’s rather disheveled…perhaps it’s more of a ‘Stedman “did me” in the limo on the way’ 😉

I like where she thought the look was going, but yeah, missed the mark.

    • MilaXX

Looks like she’s been talking to her friend Shelly O. I would like this look better with either no belt or a smaller belt. That said, I love me some Lady O. She’s been looking better on the RC than she has in a long time.

    • clatie

Considering the amount of air time Miss O has devoted to proper bra fittings, I think she is not wearing the proper bra size!

    • Glam Dixie

I know Oprah is going to be crushed, but I don’t like this at all. Besides the obvious titscrepancy, it just isn’t a great outfit or color or anything at all. I’ve scrolled back up a couple of times searching for something positive to say but I’ve got nothin’. She looks like she is really feeling it, I however am not.

    • deelup

      Nice, but not her best.

    • SierraDelta

    • AnnaleighBelle

Seriously, anything Oprah wears is a “Be Me” whether or not it’s fetching. Who wouldn’t want to be Oprah?

    • formerlyAnon

Missteps occurred, but I love the hair, the earrings work a treat, very much like the skirt, like the idea of the top, and totally love the smile & positive feels I get from her expression. So, it may be underachieving in the way of undergarments, but a net positive.

    • Sarah

I am not mad at Oprah’s look here, but is she dead set against showing her legs? I mean, I think they’re normal, if memory serves. I would like to take about two feet off that skirt and put a cute knee-high boot on her.

      • demidaemon

I thought she had worn some pencil skirts during this poledance, though.

        • Sarah

I didn’t see ’em. I feel like I’ve only seen her in big long maxi skirts, but pencil is good.

    • traceyishere

is that the third typo in two days?

      • Sarah

        They’re kind of busy, y’know.

    • marlie

I don’t hate the belt, but I wish it was a little narrower. What bugs me more is the shoulder of the top. It’s a little too much for the look. Otherwise, I like that Oprah has found a silhouette that works for her and is sticking to it, even if the execution isn’t perfect.

    • LaSylphide

Are the girls a little, um, lopsided? Aside from that, I like the outfit, and her hair and makeup are great. I do wish she would wear deep, rich colors.

      • J. Preposterice

yeah, I think she needs to be refitted for bras; her boobs have been akimbo lately

    • a_liking

“Blinkin! Fix your boobs; you look like a bleedin’ Picasso!” such a tragic weirdness for Oprah. love the skirt though.

    • Joanna

Neck up, she looks gorgeous. Her hair, her lipstick, her relaxed smile. The belt and the under garments….sigh. Heads should roll.

    • demidaemon

Loving the third and forth pics. I don’t car what TLo says, Oprah, you are feeling it, and the attitude says it all. Go get it , girl!

      • KinoEye

That third one is giving me life, too. And I LOVE her hair like this.

    • Perigee

Oprah’s whole life is one big “BE ME.” This isn’t a great look. She looks great. The cognitive dissonance is deafening.

    • LeelaST

Horrendous. The top material is way too thin – is it actually a hoodie? The skirt needs to be shortened at least 6 inches, the belt and hair can stay.

    • Lilithcat

      Hem that skirt.

    • bertkeeter

      The “GURLS” are crooked!?!

    • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

My sister is built almost exactly like Oprah, and has pretty much this exact hairstyle. I’ve tried to tell her many times that wearing her hair like this makes her neck look short – almost like her head is sitting directly on her shoulders (I’ve said it nicely, and only when she asks and presses the issue. I’m not stupid enough to pick a fight with her.) Years ago, she cut it to about chin length, and it made her neck look about 4″ longer. What do The Kittens think? Is it just me, or would trimming her hair so that it doesn’t rest on her shoulders give her the illusion of a longer neck?

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I think you are right – having the weight of her hair there shortens her neck and makes her look a bit jowly.

        • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

I hate to draw this comparison, but…Troy Polamalu.

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I had to google him, but yes! (looks fab on him though).

            • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

              He’s yummy, no?

            • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Yes. I do find Polynesian men attractive!

      • poggi

I think the hair would be fine but the cowl/drape shoulder neckline combined with hair add width. I think this hair with more skin on top–a nice v neckline or a crossover neckline–would be lovely.

    • Sabin

I really am genuinely curious: How is it even possible to get boobs that lopsided? Is it the undergarments? Does anyone know how this happens?

    • Tarquin

Miss O ought to get herself some Tadashi

    • Watts

Now, see, my boobs are almost as near my waistline as Miss O’s (despite both of our best efforts with undergarments – and I’m doing better than she is in these pictures) and I wouldn’t DREAM of wearing a belt where she’s wearing it.

    • HM3

So many of her looks are separates–which is not a bad thing–but so many of them resemble casual wear rather than anything you’d wear to an event. She can turn the volume up much more than this.

    • http://www.ueberdesuper.net/ Ueber de Super

Her right boob is much lower than the left one. Just saying. Not judging. We all have our bad boobs days.

    • ana170

Never mind the belt, her boobs are lopsided. I think if they were level and a bit higher up, the belt wouldn’t stand out so much.

      • Gatto Nero

??? One bra strap hoiked up more than the other?

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Well, my goodness, someone’s hills are alive today, aren’t they?

    • AnniNoone

Ms. Oprah owes Christina Hendricks a SERIOUS debt of gratitude.

    • SportifLateBoomer

I think what makes it work as a “Be Me” and overall is that Oprah looks so happy and pleased to be in her own skin. That’s sexy and fashionable and well deserved on her part! So I can’t hate on it too much.

    • AmeliaEve

I think Oprah is always kind of the definition of “Be me.” She is always subject, never object.
