MEGA-WERQ: Lupita Nyong’o in Dior Couture at the 2014 BAFTA Awards

Posted on February 17, 2014

It’s happening, darlings! It’s happening! We hoped and prayed that Miss Lupita would be ramping up her style game as we got closer to the Oscars, and we predicted that the results were going to be jawdropping (which, to be fair, was a fairly easy prediction to make).

Check it:

Lupita Nyong’o attends the 2014 BAFTA awards at the Royal Opera House in London in a Christian Dior couture gown accessorized with Ana Khouri jewelry.

Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture Collection

Jennifer Lawrence is screaming into a phone right now, to frightened Dior reps on the other end of the line, demanding to know why she didn’t get this dress.

Even if that’s not true (oh please let it be true), it should be. Because of her Dior contract, J Law’s been forced to galump up and down the red carpets of the world in some seriously awkward and fug representations of the brand this past year. But here’s Lupita, calmly getting out of her limo and gliding her way down the red carpet, a look of serene confidence on her face as she silently says “Suck it, girl. They may give you a contract, but you’re never gonna WERQ a Dior as good as this.”

Although we have to say, we’re not inclined to love the Wonder Woman bracelets; especially since they replicate the belt. One cuff would be fine; two, paired with that belt, takes it close to costume. Even so, she looks so outrageously good that it’s not really affecting our overall reaction, which is, of course, all about the neck rolls and the three snaps in Z formation.

You WERQ that “green goddess” shit, girl.

Let’s just give her a permanent lifetime WERQ and not bother with the individual appearances.

    • PastryGoddess

I don’t think we can, until she ups her shoe game. That’s the one thing that has consistently been bringing her down.

      • gabbilevy

        It’s not a coincidence that footwear is a non-issue with this well-deserved MEGA-WERQ.

        • PastryGoddess

    • Jessica Freeman

I hold a grudge against that beige satin number with sternum cut out from last week.

      • Sadie-Ann

I’d like to think she throws in a terrible outfit in every once and awhile to humanize herself. It’s the only thing to explain that beige dress and shoe problems.

    • Diego!

      Word. She really deserves it!

  • Kathy

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

This is the reason Jennifer Lawrence didn’t show up at the BAFTA.

I really covet those earrings, but I have to say that, since this is a look miss Lupita can rock in her sleep, giving her a WERQ is a bit much… please, don’t kill me, TLo!

    • Carleenml

      Agreed. ‘S awright.

    • ballerinawithagun

Aren’t those earrings simply sublime??? I must find them!

      • DaringMiss

When you find them, please post the details! I want them too!

    • JuliaInBlack

I can’t seem to find those exact earrings, but the interwebs tell me they’re by Ana Khouri.

  • Lolo Andre

  • Glam Dixie

I don’t always agree with you in regards to Miss Lupita’s style, but this is so gorgeous and if she is wearing fugly shoes, you can’t see them so no points deducted there. I agree about the bracelets and the green eyeshadow is a bit much, but this is pretty much a slam dunk. She looks like a goddess.

    • ccinnc

I wonder if the double bracelets are an homage to the movie.

  • @Biting Panda

Much like they retire the jersey number for great athletes, they should go ahead and retire this shade of green from the RC.

Miss Lupita werqs it, owns it and has made it her bitch. No one else should even try.

    • JulieTy

I love every single word of this comment. 🙂

  • Jeremiah Capacillo

Well holy shit. MY EYES ARE COMING

  • decormaven

I just feel like belting “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.” This woman is WERQing it so very well.

  • Lilithcat

    I love those earrings.

    • sweetlilvoice

Yes, very interesting detail. I’m intrigued.

  • Anna

Let us all hope and pray she never gets offered a contract.*sigh* Lupita, what’s it like to have everyone worship you because you’re heaven? Let’s chat over martinis.

    • VioletFem

I hope she DOES get offered a contract, but hopefully one that suits her style well. Plus, with contracts often come many more fashion editorials for big name magazines.

      • Anna

I’m definitely onboard with a non-Dior contract, as it seems to have been a curse for Jennifer Lawrence and even Marion.

      • She got Miu Miu, didn’t she?

        • VioletFem

Did she? I had no idea, if so then that is awesome. She seems to be one of the rare people who can actually look good in Miu Miu dresses.

          • Susan Velazquez

I don’t know if it was a contract thing but she and Elle Fanning and Elizabeth Olson got picked to be the faces of their new campaign. IDK if that is equal to a contract.

          • demidaemon

Pretty much yes, as that’s the same deal JLaw and Marion have with Dior.

  • Kent Roby

I want to follow Lupita around and buff out any fingerprints from her superhero belt/cuffs; I’ll do it for free.

  • SewingSiren

Beyond WERQ. She’s shutting WERQ down.

  • So what if it subtly veers to costume, its GREAT costume if it does.

  • boldprint

    Shutting. It. The hell. Down!

  • Danielle

  • HM3

Her hair is also styled so perfectly for this look. It almost looks like a bouffant-fro…in a good way. Kudos to her stylist(s).

    • Rand Ortega

      The Bouffro?

  • jw_ny

    just stunning! 🙂

  • girlsaturday

Doesn’t hurt that we can’t see her shoes for this look…just sayin’. I’m whole-heartedly in favor of the Wonder Woman bracelets -on Lupita. Don’t know why, but she just takes them somewhere fabulous for me.

  • Tatiana Luján

I love her poise and that green looks wonderful against her skin, but I don’t like those cuffs with that belt and the fin on the bust is terrible. There are also wrinkly and plucky seams in this dress.
Lupita deserves better than this dress.

    • MaggieMae

She radiates poise, doesn’t she? How does she manage to look so comfortable? For a newcomer, her style sings I BELONG HERE.

      • Tatiana Luján

Her father is a senator. It is probable that she’s used to fancy public events.

      • She is 30 – I think that gives her a definite edge over actresses who hit the limelight at 17 or 18.

  • Maybe because Miss Lupita doesn’t have a contract with Dior she (her styling team) has a freedom to choose, while J Law doesn’t? At least she gets paid.

  • msdamselfly

I agree she looks lovely but I am not sure the bodice is flattering

  • NBG

I may be in the minority but I love the cuffs and bracelet. Who are we to tell Lupita not to get her Wonder Woman on if she wants to? She’s giving us so much joy, I would not tell her no! Fuck it, give her a tiara.

    • SRQkitten

Wouldn’t she be a fierce Wonder Woman? Totally shake up that franchise!

  • Jessica Freeman

I have this fear she is going to try and do something crazy that ends up flopping for the Oscars. Please, let her not pull and Anne Hathaway.

  • I knew you wouldn’t love the matching cuffs. I’d even have loved it if she added a tiara. And her makeup is killing it.

    • MilaXX

I think Johnny Wier took the matching tiara with him to Sochi.

      • Jacob Bowen

    • If she added a tiara, the world would have spontaneously exploded. There is already too much fierceness here! 🙂

But I would have loved it if she did, in honour of England, or something.

Then again who needs an excuse to rock a tiara? 😉

  • Petition to rename “WERQ” to “Pulling a Lupita.”

    • Kathy

Or the feminine version of WITFU: LITFU.

    • Rand Ortega

      A PaL. Me likes.

  • Lower L

It wasn’t until the last picture that I noticed the dress–which is gorgeous–is seriously compressing the girls. The runway version seems to have allowed room in the bustline, while Lupita’s dress doesn’t. Perhaps it’s not actually painful to her (boobs being malleable and whatnot), but the bodice *looks* uncomfy.

    • marlie

Lupita is really small-chested, so I don’t think she’s actually being squished all that much, which is one of the reasons this dress works so much for me – it’s definitely for the smaller-busted ladies.

  • colleenjanel

    Sartorial Superhero

  • KinoEye

A mega WERQ? Has such an honor ever before been bestowed? I have nothing to add here, except that she’s a sight for sore eyes and looks magnificent in green, as she does in every color. LOVE the hair.

  • AmeliaEve

It is a boob-squisher, and I think that is the design. You can see where the boning goes straight up the bust. I think removing the curves from the upper body gives added drama to the fullness of the skirt. I love the double cuffs. They “finish” her bare arms in the same way that gloves would, and they have a classical, Eastern feeling. The earrings, on the other hand, seem a little gimmicky. I should not be staring at her ears trying to figure out why she has a second hole so far back.

  • d4divine

She looks flawless Period When a lady looks so good that folks are trying to mistakes, like the unseen shoes, you know she nailed it.

  • Nonmercisansfacon

She looks great, WERQtastic but I think J Law wore this dress before too, albeit in another color.

    • DagnyReardon

I think I’ve seen this before as well. It’s the color that works so well here. I think Viola Davis wore this color to the Oscars a few years back. Just saying…

      • Nonmercisansfacon

Yes, this silhouette is not new from Dior (Marion Cotillard and J Law have been sporting it in different colors and slightly different bodices for 2 years now). Lupita elevates the dress basically because I’m not won over by the fabric, the way the bodice completly flattens out her breasts and the unsubtle undergarment that seems built-in. No need for J Law to throw a tantrum.

    • Yolanda13

Jennifer wore a red version with a black belt at the Golden Globes when she won for Silver Linings Playbook.

  • Nicholas

Betting on Lupita showing up at the Oscars in a burlap sack and positively destroying the competition.

    • SRQkitten

Am thinking that THE reason to watch the Oscars this year will be to see what Ms. Lupita will be wearing. Because whatever it is, she will shut it down.

      • Nicholas

I can only speak for myself, but Nyong’o is literally the only reason I am going to watch the Oscars this year. (That is, the red carpet + her Oscar win, because I’m gonna cut someone, if she doesn’t get it.)

(Perhaps worth mentioning that I’ll watch it way past midnight due to the European timezone.)

  • Hetha Innis

I actually feel a little bit sorry for all the lady stars who have to walk the same carpet. They could be having their best red carpet moments and still look like clowns next to this goddess.

  • Rhonda Shore

Was there anything to ramp up after that red Golden Globes dress? Again, flawless.

  • A Shiny O’Connor

J-law wouldn’t have worked that green. Not by a long shot.

    • And her boobs would not have been happy in that bodice!

      • A Shiny O’Connor

And of all the body parts, the boobs look the worst when not happy.

  • Alyssa

Simply gorgeous. Love the makeup, love the earrings, love the dress (although it is squishing her ladies!). I feel bad for JLaw…she needs to ditch that contract ASAP! They let Lupita wear this and send her all that crap? Not cool, Dior.

  • Fabulous. I just wish we could see her shoes – they always seem to be her downfall.

  • Rand Ortega

Absolute perfection. Almost makes up for her not receiving a single award. Really, Bafta? The kid who got spider bit on the ball in “We’re The Millers” over 1 of the greatest debut performances since Peter O’Toole’s “Lawrence Of Arabia”? SMFH.

    • Mim McDonald

Wasn’t up to BAFTA, that award was open to public vote.

      • Rand Ortega

Was best supporting actress up to public vote? I was pointing a finger at both snubs, mentioning the rising star award as example.

        • SRQkitten

I was also a bit surprised at Jared Leto not winning supporting actor for Dallas Buyers Club as he’s been doing a serious sweep otherwise.

        • Mim McDonald

          No, just the Rising Star.

  • icm

being nit picky here but in the 2nd last photo I think the top of the dress looks kind of weird ,especially the back .It appears to have been rolled inward like one would roll up a hem on a pant leg.It seems odd and umeven. other wise she is beautiful and is there a colour that doesn’t look good on this girl.

  • Vickiefantastico

She looks like a goddess. Perfection.

However, I’m left to wonder if she’s still going to be in the limelight this time next year. Yes, she’s gorgeous, and I hear she’s a good actress (I haven’t seen 12 Years a Slave), but she’s truly a newcomer. She has literally one movie to her name. I hope for her sake that she’s able to pick more films that showcase her talent, otherwise she’s going to be famous just for looking great on the red carpet, but that won’t last that long, will it? Or will it? There are some stars who I know just from the red carpet and this site – Dita Von Teese comes to mind. Are there people who remain famous and make a living just from red carpet appearances, beyond models? Just wondering. I’ve always found people who come out of nowhere and are suddenly famous fascinating.

    • Rand Ortega

Jessica Alba immediately comes to mind.

      • MilaXX

ah yes, the infamous mocktress. I don’t see that happening for Lupita since she has actual talent, but yes a career can be made off red carpet and talk show appearance. Connect yourself with the right charity or cause, marry or date well and you can indeed have a career of sorts.

        • Rand Ortega

Gotta give JA props, though, for her performance in “The Spoils Of Babylon”. She was very funny. Maybe since she’s got the mega successful The Honest Company, she’s more particular about picking parts. She does seem get typecast as the sex kitten. Could that be why we see more of her on the RC or talk shows than film these days?

    • I’ve been fretting about her career too. There haven’t been that many roles for women of colour in mainstream movies and I want more for her than “Jamie Foxx’s love interest” going forward.

      • Vickiefantastico

Me too! I don’t even know this woman, but I’ve been worrying about her. I would love to see her have this fabulous career with nothing but strong female roles and equally fabulous clothes. 🙂

      • Yolanda13

Her next movie is “Non-Stop” with Liam Neeson. Not sure how she plays into the story, but she is working.

        • Rand Ortega

She plays a flight attendant. (making the face of the gal who dated Aidan after Carrie)

    • MilaXX

I recall Jennifer Lawrence having similar buzz post Winter’s Bone and Quvenzhane Wallis after Beast of the Southern Wild. In all 3 cases relative newcomers came out the gate with strong performances. Jennifer made good choices in her next projects, and so far it appears Quvenzhane has as well. It’s kept them in the public eye and I can see the same happening for Lupita.

  • CeeRich

She looks amazing in this dress. I say go ahead with the Wonder Woman bracelets since she clearly is a superhero. *SNAPS*

  • twigg

This dress is very, very close to the dress Jennifer wore to last year’s Golden Globe (minus the detailing on the boobs). But Lupita looks 100x better and it’s delicious.

  • bellafigura1

Well, I’m not sure why the two women have to be pitted against one another, but …

This is the first time I’ve ever liked matching eye shadow. She’s incredible.

    • SRQkitten

I think it’s an outgrowth of the awards season nonsense. I’m still somewhat shocked that Lupita didn’t win in her BAFTA category, don’t know what’s with that.

    • MilaXX

I think it was just a bit of snark because JLaw who is contractually obligated to wear Dior hasn’t looked as good as Lupita does in her Dior.

      • bellafigura1

I know, I know, thanks. Just hate seeing hard-working women stereotyped as having to tear each other down. Neither of those two strike me as cliche cats.

        • demidaemon

I read it more as a dig against Dior than any hint towards cattiness.

  • Jaeda Laurez

She’s so simple and chic. None of this works without her skin being flawless, and the glow is SICKENING.

  • sienna elm

The only reason you haven’t given her more WERQs is because of her shoes (so it seems) and here she’s hiding them. She could have the worst shoes on ever and you’d never know. She looks spectacular.

I adore the earrings. I like the WW cuffs, could do without the belt. That colour is amazing on her.

  • MaggieMae

She is so radiant in that color that I was initially distracted from the puckering, boning, and sheen of that unforgiving fabric. The belt on the model is rockin’.

In my fantasy world, design houses are falling over themselves in a rush to get Lupita to wear their clothes. And, she rushes in an era where women of color get their fair share of representation. Please, don’t wake me.

  • VioletFem

She looks flawless. I’m always amazed at her creative her hairstylist is.

  • Latin Buddy

SHE is WERQ…the dress? The fabric and craftsmanship looks suspect. Also, I wish the foundational garments built into the dress were a little more subtle.

  • Melissa Mendes

I want literally everything I own to be that shade of green. I could stare at that color for days.

  • Janet B

I don’t love how the bodice has flattened her bust.
I’d be having an epic tantrum if I were Jennifer Lawrence.

    • raeb23

exactly, i love the colour & the drama of the skirt but the fit seems off at the bust

  • marlie

This is absolutely stunning. I LOVE the color, and I love the gold accents – even the double cuffs. And her hair and makeup are flawless. WERQ indeed.

  • SugarSnap108

Gorgeous. I’d prefer one cuff, too — but, my god, she’s wearing jewelry! For that alone, I fall at her feet.

And, yes, Jennifer Lawrence should be ranting right now.

    • Suzanne Johnson

Yes, but Jennifer scored the best supporting actress from BAFTA, although Lupita was heavily favored. So she (Jennifer) should be able to take some comfort from that.

  • MilaXX

She looks fantastic! Once again I am absolutely in love with the hair & makeup. The bracelets don’t bother me one bit. I will say Dior or Rachel Zoe is doing themselves no favors by not choosing dresses like this that better suit JLaw’s personality. The overly fussy, frilly stuff just does not work on her. I also saw a picture over the weekend with Lupita & her mother. I see where she gets her good looks from.

  • Ashleigh

I would love to see this dress move…it’s spectacular. Mega WERQ earned!

  • kt

I agree that she is gorgeous (that face!) as is the dress, so this is more of pretty girl/ pretty dress than WERQ for me.

  • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

    holy wow.

  • CLoverleaf

    I kan’t werds.

  • Melanie

dying. the bracelets & the belt are perfection. even if j law had gotten this dress, no way in hell she would ever have approached this level. not to say she shouldn’t be the face of dior, but i agree with MilaXX re j law’s personality & the dresses given her.

  • formerlyAnon

I’d have said one cuff and a necklace – and if it was a choice between necklace & belt, tone down or remove the belt.

Doesn’t interfere with the WERQ-worthiness, though.

  • bertkeeter

She’s stunning! The dress…nice color but fairly run of the mill cut….and why is the bodice neckline look like it was altered poorly?

  • Judy_S

    Now that’s couture.

  • ms_kat

I think what makes her particularly fabulous is she’s tiny with a small bust. So dresses fit her great and, the fullness of the skirt on her does not overwhelm, doe snot look overly full and large. Jennifer Lawrence, also thin, has a larger bust and is taller. Her dress, in order to achieve the same lines, look enormous just because she has more to cover.

  • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

She instagrammed herself lying down in this dress and it’s STUNNING.

  • xmixiex

UGH i thought of JLaw as soon as i saw this too!! WTF DIOR

  • Tricia

love her love that dress love her hair love her smile

    “green goddess” is right!

  • ovarB

This shit ain’t just werq’n it…it is paying the bills till next month!!!

  • Winter_White

    Magnificent! A triumph.

Ridiculously: I have both a magpie’s attraction to gold (or silver) belts like this — AND an obsessive housewife’s displeasure at all the smudges and fingerprints that inevitably accumulate! lol

(If she just had a clutch in which to store a teensy Windex sprayer and wee swatch of cloth….tsk.)

  • cocohall

This woman is the queen! Let’s find her a country to rule and all move there to live in a land of fashion fabulousness. Lupita Land. I’m packing my bags . . ..

  • webslice33

    it’s a werq but not mega …the tailoring isn’t perfect..i see lots of bumps…

  • CeeQ

Loving this especially since this shade of green is my muse right now =)

  • Diego!

MEGA-WERQ indeed. She look FIERCE as sh*t! I love those “Wonder Woman” bracelets! 😀

  • docholly

Just when i thought she couldn’t out do the uber chic look at the Golden Globes BAM along came SAG in that jaw dropping jewel tone blue – that was it.. game over.. Until the Green Goddess arrived. Dayam! She could go barefooted and would anyone actually notice? ok maybe the shoewhores would. But Dayam!

  • ThaliaMenninger

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Why didn’t Dior give her the contract? If she’s not in demand as everybody’s muse and model, she should be.

  • judybrowni

They squished her breasts a tad too much, but otherwise perfection.

  • bluefish

She’s lovely and the color and shape are beautiful on her but that dress has tons of issues going on. Badly fitted and made, including an unfortunate and deep V drop.

  • Sofia Bentivoglio

i don’t love the matchy green eye makeup, but she is breathtaking

  • EEKstl

Agree one cuff would have been preferable but I quibble. Just stunning, as we’ve come to expect – but it never gets boring. JLaw really needs to have a Come to Jesus chat with those folks…

  • adi

    amazing eraings !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

Her makeup people need to be careful they don’t Kors It The Fuck Up with her face — it’s getting a bit close to orange. Viola Davis got her makeup a bit too orange in her green Oscar gown.

    • J. Preposterice

      yeah, that’s what I was thinking — it’s a teeeeeny bit orangey-reddish here. Careful, Lupita’s makeup person!

  • OffToSeeHim

I think it would be prettier in the emerald green the model’s wearing.

  • Dagney

    Stunning!! Loving the non-boob-falling-out-all-over-the-godamn-place look.

  • LaSylphide

Agree the deeper green is more striking, but I wonder if that’s just the lighting that makes the two look so different.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Now THAT’s jewelry done right. Those earrings are making me faint. THank you for your perfection, Miss Lupita.

  • Susan Velazquez

Lupita for the new Wonder Woman movie! Lupita for everything!

  • Matthew Vella

The only thing I hate is knowing that she is probably wearing horrible shoes underneath.

  • Gatto Nero

Wow. Just wow. Color, shape, dramatic sweep. Brava.
I even like the two gold cuffs with the gold belt. It looks intentional. Superwoman. And the lack of other geegaws makes this touch perfect.

  • PastryGoddess

Just came back to say that I saw her with pictures of her mom..she gets naturally. Mother and daughter were FIERCE on the red carpet last night

  • Akemi

She has some fantastic pics of her in this dress on her Instagram. I adore her, and she looks phenomenal here (though I agree with the Wonder Woman bracelet assessment).

  • lamh36

Man! As a fellow woman of color, I TOTALLY love Lupita’s skin game. The woman’s skin is FLAWLESS and damn if no matter what she wears it always seems to just be glowing and radiant!

If some smart skincare company has be calling her rep non-stop, then they should be!

  • Just Me

In my head, I see Lupita and Iman on a red carpet together…just standing there as legions of wannabees watch in awe.

    • demidaemon

That would cause us all to spontaneously combust from the utter amount of fabulousness.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(really, nothing more than that to add. Just, “!!!!!!!!!!!”)

  • Shawn EH

I kinda miss the gloves and the belt from the model; black accents work better than gold with that green, at least to me. Not that I ever mind a little Wonder Woman.

  • lifeisastory

    She looks fantastic.

  • somebody blonde

LOVE. I love the color, the shape, the wonder woman cuffs, the face, and those EARRINGS are just amazing! WERQ!!

  • Usually big cuffs on both wrists would drive me bananas, especially matching ones. but I’m liking it here. Adds a little tough to the pretty, and it works on such a muscular beauty.

  • amaranth16

    She is a vision!

  • Claudia Berry

I don’t know how Micaela Erlanger (her stylist) can perennially WERQ it for Lupita and perennially WTF it for Dockery, who is also her client. Lupita rocks it.

    • demidaemon

I’ve always figured that the client has the last say on what they wear, so maybe Michelle is bypassing the options that Micaela wants her to take for the really awkward one that has been specifically requested.

  • As soon as I saw the bracelets, the “Wonder Woman” theme started in my head and now I won’t be happy til she’s starring in the reboot.

  • brown-eyed girl

Almost perfection. Agree one cuff is fine. Two is Wonder Woman.

  • murt

I love it, including both bracelets!

  • I like this. This is Oscar level fab.

  • mickiemonkey

This is so gorgeous it hurt.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

OMG, Lupita is near perfection almost every damn time she walks out the door. She is shutting it down in the Dior, and, as much a I love JLaw, Ms. Lawrence, you would not WERQ this dress, so it belongs to Lupita. Period.End.of.subject. I.die.

  • stubbornthoughts

So good! Though I feel awful for her breasts. And I’m not hot on the eye makeup, but those earrings kick ass.

I must agree with a previous poster that this is a very, very easy look for the gorgeous Lupita to work, so it’s almost unfair to give it a mega-werq. But that is sooooo her shade of green! Can’t wait to see her Oscar get-up!!!

  • CarrieBaby

Now Miss Jennifer Lawrence, This! is how you rock Dior.
Anyways, I love Lupita’s confidence on the red carpet. I think it adds to the beauty in all of her looks. This girl stays winning on the fashion front

  • poggi

Sometimes its perfect, like the first and third shots, and sometimes the bust looks a little weird (the second shot). But that is minor. She looks amazing. I love the belt and earrings and THE COLOR (that last part was belted out Ethel Merman style).

  • quiltrx

I would ask how long it took someone to get the skirt “just so”…but then I remember that it’s Lupita, and she probably WILLED it that way.

  • lillyvonschtupp

I dont think Cate, Helen or even Tilda ever got a MEGA werk! This is historic!

  • Emmyllou

    She is just perfect.

Love her dress and styling but those matching bracelets are serious overkill.

  • I *AM* Wonder Woman, bitches!

she looks amazing. and j. law should be mad as hell. in a different color, this is also her dress.

  • Pannyx

I think she looks great (when doesn’t she?), but I am not loving this dress. Not a fan of the color, and the bunching around the hips are really distracting.

  • Imasewsure

Great color and the best RC Dior we’ve seen in a while (poor J Law) but not a mega-Werq for me

  • Belvane

Very pretty. Love the double cuffs — sometimes symmetry is nice. She needs to work on her “it’s an honor just to be nominated” face, though — she did not look pleased to lose.

That shade of green is so beautiful! This could be a great dress on other women, but Lupita makes it sing. I actually love the gold belt and cuffs and I usually don’t like matchy things, but here it werqs. Best part of the pictures, her gorgeous smile.
