      Love every bit of this.

    • SewingSiren

Fiber optic hair fan and tattooed bracelet . What’s not to love?

      • lexilexi

I do love the color combination.

      • Lucía Gavello

Man, I WISH it were fiber optic… how cool would that be?!

    • Alicia

That’s a whole lot of look for someone who I thought was a SAHM at the moment. I love it, but it’s a bit OTT for the venue.

      • MilaXX

nah she’s still putting out songs and videos.

        • Alicia

Ah – I thought the dig at Miley was a one-off. But still, not even the best actress nominees went all-out like this.

      • Jessica Freeman

She’s apparently back from time off. There’s a new song out. She’s lost her edge though.

        • korilian

No way, “hard out there” is my personal anthem! (One of them anyway)

      • demidaemon

        • Alicia

Stay at home mother. She “retired” with some fanfare to have a family.

          • demidaemon

AH. Does this mean that her children selected her outfit?

            • Alicia

That’d explain a lot. It certainly looks like something toddlers would like.

            • demidaemon

INDEED. Which is exactly why I do not like it.

      • lundibleu

She retired from being retired to cover a track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, and then has put out a new album too. I think she pretty much said that she loves spending time with her kids, but felt the urge to work and couldn’t get away from it. Also that she was looking forward to the kids being a bit older so she could talk with them.

    • Kathy

Who is she? She reminds me of Marion Cotillard and Natalie Wood.

There’s a lot happening with this dress and styling, and I’m not sure if I like it or not.

      • Kathy

Never mind. I googled her. So she’s a UK pop star. I’ll Youtube her.

        • zenobar

Check out “The Fear” – amazing song. The video is pretty great too, as I recall.

          • Bridget Smith

If you listen to Taylor Swift’s “22” and then Lily Allen’s “22,” you’ll hear a brilliant tragedy in two acts.

          • Kathy

Oh, I like the way she thinks! Thanks for the recommendation.

          • lundibleu

Also check out her cover of “Oh My God” with Mark Ronson, which has an excellent video.

            • TrixieConQueso

And then there is her hit “F U” – an ode to President Bush…very humorous, for those of us who like that sort of thing.

            • zenobar

Agreed, though I haven’t seen the video. But that whole album (Version) is one of my top-ten of all time, seriously.

(My annual tradition is to listen to my vinyl copy, on the first warm day of the year, with the windows open and a gin & tonic in hand.)

    • filmcricket

Oh you nutty girl. Glad to have you back on the scene. Only pop stars can get away with something like this.

      • @Biting Panda

        Nearly my exact thought.

    • sojourneryouth

The hair….thing….is so aggressively stupid that I can’t figure out if I like the dress or not. Even if I did, it isn’t her dress.

    • boweryboy

Satin. Shiny, ugly satin. I like it from the back. That is all.

    • jw_ny

      now that’s a dress! O.o

    • marlie

I love the colors, but I hate the wonky, lopsided bust. But I really like the skirt. The sash and bow are a little too much. The hair fan is ridiculous, and her eyeliner was applied by a toddler with a magic marker.

      • Glam Dixie

I know, I was so distracted by the stupid fiber optic hair fan and horrible eyeliner I didn’t even look at the dress until the last couple of pictures. Don’t really care for that ring either.

        • marlie

I kind of love the ring. It’s not right with THIS dress, but I still love it.

          • DaringMiss

I LOVE that ring but you are right, it isn’t right for the dress.

      • ballerinawithagun

I love everything but the lopsided bust. If you are doing asymmetry, make it obvious, not like a mistake! One of my favorite color combos, my husband thinks I’m crazy!!!

        • Linda LaPaz

          Major titscrepancy!

      • Danielle

From the first pic from behind, I really thought she was wearing a pseudo-kimono.

      • housefulofboys

I’m a sucker for shades of orange and pink together, so I can’t not love this dress. But the titscrepancy kept dragging my eye away, and I agree that the sash and bow weren’t necessary.

    • lobsterlen

I would say its a modern take on a 1890s salon singer which sort of works for her.

    • Anonymous

I kind of love it. Even though the boob area kind of looks like it’s unintentionally asymmetrical, and the colors plus huge bow combination strongly remind me of Sailor Moon. The hair thing is sort of weird too, but what the hell ever. Go for it, Lily Allen.

      • demidaemon

I can see that, although it reminds me more of a Monster of the Week than Sailor Moon herself.

    • latenac

She looks like someone who runs a saloon in the Old West. But still I find the ensemble charming.

    • MilaXX

Why did no one tell her she looks like an insane cockatoo with those feathers in her hair. Love the dress & jewelry, hate that stupid feather.

    • Sarah

But for the big ol’ run in the front of the skirt, I kind of like the dress. I think the colors look good on her. But I can’t really get on board with the neon whisk broom hairdo, Miss Allen – sorry. ETA: Or the pinny-pin-pinterest matchy match nails.

      • Janet B

Mom rule: Once you get dressed, you have to keep the kids away from the couture.

    • Gaby

    • Blair Sylvester

Was on board until the back

    • Hetha Innis

      Garish from every angle.

    • imspinningaround

Wow, a Vivienne Westwood I do not abjectly hate upon sight! Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

    • DTLAFamilies

So not my style, yet I cannot deny she looks great.

    • Jessica Freeman

This fits her personality, minus that crazy shit in her hair. And for her to be short and still able to carry it off, well kudos to her.

    • Nancer

Loved it from the back, but the wonky bust line is very distracting from the front. Still, the color! The verve! So much fun.

    • Anna

Love the colours. Hair fan looks half-assed, if that’s what you’re going for then it should look like a full on expandable neck frill like those venomous dinosaurs from Jurassic Park.

      • KinoEye

Dilophosaurus! I always crack up at that dumbass trying to play fetch with it.

        • Anna

Thanks! I wanted to say velociraptor but I knew that wasn’t right.

      • zenobar

Or the drag queens in “Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert”.

    • Gatto Nero

I admire Westwood’s panache, but her dresses often suffer from wonky boob syndrome. You can’t just add puckers and rippling fabric randomly to a bodice without seriously fucking up the fit and silhouette. The uneven boobs here are gratuitous and distracting.
Not fond of the random draping, tucking, and bulging in the skirt either.

    • hughman

Helena Bonham Carter: “No, it’s ok Lily, you take it honey. It’s a bit much for that hour.”

      • j_am

        True and hilarious :)

      • StellaZafella

        Too loose, Lautrec.

    • KinoEye

I love that ring, but I wonder if she had to keep her finger pointed straight all evening. Doesn’t look like it bends.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

I want to hang out with her. I have a feeling we’d end up shitfaced and TPing my ex’s house.

    • Tanya Wade

Miss Kitty time travels to the San Bernardino prom.

    • uprightcitizen

I can’t decide whether this looks more like a costume from the Harmonia Gardens scene in “Hello, Dolly!” or one of the gals who works for Miss Kitty on “Gunsmoke,” but it’s pretty terrible, either way. Lily Allen was sailing along here as a contender for newcomer with the best fashion sense a year ago, wasn’t she? So why is she dressed as HBC or Fergie’s Edina Monsoon wannabe daughter in Westwood with a wacky bustline?

      • uprightcitizen

Oh wait, I was thinking of Lily Collins. Lily Allen has always looked a little batshit crazy. Carry on.

    • Akemi

I love it! But she looks extremely uncomfortable.

    • Glam Dixie

Remember in Legally Blonde when they played a trick on Elle and told her the party was a costume party and she showed up dressed like a PB Bunny and everyone else was in regular clothes? This is like that.

    • d4divine

This is not her look…especially that flight of the bubble bee hairpiece.

    • belfebe

What happened to her left boob? Also, I like the colors, but the fit is awful. Thar hairpiece detracts from the look. But the colors rock.

    • Aidan B

I really can’t justify it, but I am in love with this.

    • WordyDoodles

Unequivocally love the ring. Sort of love the eyeliner– cat eyes are really working well for her, but the messy lower lids don’t look ironic. Cannot look at the neckline.

    • Carla_Charlton

More proof that small-chested women look best in strapless. The top may be a little wonky, but at least it doesn’t look like it’s going to fall off of her. I think overall that she looks good, but I hate the nails. I wonder if the satin looks less cheap in real life.

    • Qitkat

The colors are gorgeous, but that is one depressed titsling.

    • EveEve

A big ol’ “Happy Valentine’s Day, and here’s your box of yum-yums!” Good on her for having some fun, with diamonds.

    • Imasewsure

Promising a lot of fun in the first shot and then a whole lot of NO from the front… and really this needs to be on Emma Thompson since she at least knows how to hoot it up in her pictures (still would be a NO but a fun NO anyway)

    • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

I think I love it and I love her for the matchy-but-not-quite styling.

    • Kate4queen

I kind of love it-apart from the lopsided bodice which is making me want to rush over and hoist it up for her in every picture. I’d wear those colors. :)

    • clatie

Belle Watling meets Cyndi Lauper. which shouldn’t work but it so fun, I’ll allow it.

    • Raymond Dnomyar

      Hate. Mostly the colors.

    • bellafigura1

Hate, that hair thing is goofy.

    • VicD

I love this except for the headdress.

    • RussellH88

Considering it’s Lily Allen, I’m impressed.

    • In_Stitches

The skirt looks like a giant wilting rose, but I love it none the less. The hairpiece adds to the color conversation going on and helps balance the visual interest, top to bottom. I love the brash colors and the heavy black liner. They’re bold, chunky visual comments for your eye to settle on. Wise choice to go nude with the lip.

    • A Shiny O’Connor

Love the manicure. That’s about it. Two too many bows IMO.

    • Beardslee

      So much fun!

    • trvra

Love tbe gown, the colors tbe shape awesome, jewelry fantastic. Hair thing not so much. This is tbe equivalent of the Oscars in the Uk not a place for a fiber optic headpiece.

    • MissusBee

I’d like to see Katy Perry have at this dress. That’s not something I say often.

    • luludexter

That bustline is whack but everything else about this is superb – a certain level of British quirky is required for this red carpet. She’s Helena Bonham Carter’s little circus sister and I love it!

    • Marci Smethurst Wolcott

Her left implant has completely deflated

    • mickiemonkey

She is rocking the Mae West vibe, even with the deflated left boob. LOVE! The hair thing looks like Japanese anime and the nails offend, but I’d want to be on her party bus.

      • SuzBald

        Oh yes, me too.

    • B_C_J

The headpiece reminds me of something Lana turner wore in the Merry Widow only hers was attached with a diamond clip & the feathers didn’t come out like clown ears. I love the color & draping of this dress but I do not understand what is going on with the bodice. The bow in the back is not my favorite either

    • crash1212

I so love this. It’s such a fun dress and it’s perfect for her and the venue and the head piece simply makes it. Well done, Lily!

    • KT

Crazy, but then again so is she! I’m willing to give a pass to some of the stranger elements on display (like the gigantic bow, which I’m somehow not super upset about), but the rouching around the bodice is really awkward and uneven, and both the thing in her hair and those HIDEOUS nails are way too much for a look that is already quite loud. She can really rock that color combo, though.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Love the color combination, but that bodice is wonky. I must have that ring, but she can keep that hair thingy.

    • suzq

Lily is a bit of a kook. Viv is a good designer for her. Fun and festive!

    • Kent Roby

I’m loving the Miss Kitty on Acid dress.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Incredible jewelry. And the gown is weird but fun. Me like!

    • Dany

I just dislike the valentine’s day color scheme. However, it’s so fun and she’s hilarious and a really cool person (in interviews) so I’ll give this a pass.

    • amf0001

I love Lilly Allen and her music is terrific and real and I love that somehow she is never quite perfect/polished on the carpet, because that matches the realness of her music.

    • demidaemon

When the first picture is from the back, you know it’s going to be cray. And this did not disappoint.

      My eyes are bleeding now.

    • Alyssa

      That hair feather is ridiculous.

    • Trickytrisha

Surprisingly cute, but ditch the feathers… too distracting. I’m rather amazed I like this dress on her.

    • shaziz

      LOVE. WERQ.

    • kimmeister

Hate everything but the jewelry. That ring is amazing.

    • broke&fashionable

Ugh is that bodice not a mistake? I just thought it got scrunched on the ride over. No no no.

    • bertkeeter

Individually certain elements are great…together it’s a tad cray cray! Ode to Shirley Maclaine in the 1960 movie “Can Can”?

    • annrr

I don’t like the pink whisk brooms on her head and the matchy nail polish is hiddy but I like the dress and love that ring.

    • Garcia Loca

      Fits Lily’s retro-sloppy aesthetic to a tee.

    • Richard

The colors and the hair thing are both really irritating and obnoxious. Also, It looks like one of her boobs is deflating.

    • ojosazules

The gown looks good on her. The train is a little weird from the front. Too bad about the distracting pink head whiskers.

    • Jacob Bowen

She has the Santino Rice problem…TOO MANY DISTRACTING PARTS! Honey, if you’re going to Sharpie on your eyeliner you might as well do your brows, too!

    • kingderella

It’s a good look for her. Only the bust is a little whack.

    • judybrowni

      Schizo salloon gal.

    • roche

Cartoon version of Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke. Maybe without the bow or the headdress? Nope, still cartoony.

      • ThaliaMenninger

Miss KItty is EXACTLY what I was going to say. Sort of if Miss Kitty and Jessica Rabbit had a baby.

    • LaSylphide

If she twirled around really fast, she could clean out a clogged drain. Love the colors, though.

    • quiltrx

I love the gown (in a koo-koo way) and the ring. The head is a bridge too far.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

I love it all. You go Lily.

    • icm

Going out on a big limb here! And I suspect the haters will pounce. But here it goes, call me old fashioned but no matter how beautiful or glamorous a starlets clothing and makeup may be if they have a visible tattoo (like on her wrist) she comes off looking cheap and kind of skanky.I find them a terrible distraction to the whole look.

    • CommentsByKatie

What a shame. The dress is so lovely. I wish the bubble hemming at the bodice were more traditional; it seems like enough is going on already and the wacky stitching is too much. And the hair is WAY too much, and ugly.

    • Therese Bohn

I want to pull up the left side of the bodice! The crushed cup messes up the line. The hair ornament reminds me of a costume piece I wore as Mrs. Higgins in our high school production of My Fair Lady!

    • Diego!

You know what? I think she looks superb here! Bravo Miss Lily! You went further and beyond, I love everything here!

    • Crystal

I think she’s gorgeous. That fan is a little cray, but I love this look

    • lilazander

I love the long ring, want to have one like that!

    • Molly Lopez

      LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
