Juliette Lewis for The Edit Magazine

Posted on February 28, 2014

The clothes in this shoot are absolutely adorable and suit Miss Juliette to a T. Which would be surprising to anyone who stopped paying attention to her ten years ago, because nobody back in her wild child days could have predicted she’d be looking so fabulous in super-girly high fashion retro styles at this stage in her life.

On her outlook at life at the age of 40: “At 40, my eyes are open and excited by designers in a different way. I didn’t lean on that side of myself when I was younger.”

On her band: “It was a real big thing to jump off the acting bandwagon. I always liken it to cutting the umbilical cord. In my six years on the road, I was fully committed and created a real fan base for my music. The music we’re generating is fresh but it’s rooted in soul-driven rock’n’roll-the kind of music that gets into your spirit.”

On her role in “August: Osage County”: “It was a really rewarding, wild experience. When you work with the best, there’s such beauty in it. It’s what you hope for in this business and you get a handful of times. I’m old enough now to appreciate that.”

Adorable. But – and we hate to say this because we love her so – she needs some posing lessons. You can only cock your head so many times, you know?

      Love the flats!

    • marlie

She looks great in just about every look. And it’s says something about her that she’s able to make a couple of standard “pretty girl” dresses stand out.

    • luludexter

I love everything here: the clothes, the hair and makeup, the shoes – it’s so nice to see flats for a change!

      • LaSylphide

Exactly what I was thinking about seeing flats.

    • shaziz

She looks AH- MAZE-ING and she’s crazy talented. A true original. Serving up modern day Aurdey Hepburn!

    • GoAwayKardash

I lerve her. Always have. Always will.

    • jilly_d

I’m going to type something I never thought would even enter my brain: I really, really want that Peter Pilotto skirt. Also Juliette looks cute. Anyone else getting shades of Chloe O’Brian in the face there?

The sweater/skirt shot is just divine.

    • icm

      she looks adorable

    • bertkeeter

      Meh!

    • Jacob Bowen

This is a whole lot of my favorite kind of crazy in a FANTASTIC, FABULOUS way! This is how you make Peter Pilotto work, as a separate with a SIMPLE top!

    • SierraDelta

She and Margaret Colin always seem as if they should be related.

      • quiltrx

I agree, and let’s throw Elizabeth Perkins in there.

    • suzq

If the posing is wrong, I blame the photographer, not the model.

    • Pablo

She looks great, the cover is specially beautiful

    • CPK1

posing is very one dimensional but she looks gorgeous in the clothes. Love the Erdem dress from the cover.

    • ashtangajunkie

I am always happy to see Juliette Lewis. The photos leave a lot to be desired, but Lewis and the clothes look wonderful.

    • lalahartma

      She is looking fantastic.

    • LaSylphide

Love her. She looks best, I think, in clean, low-key designs; definitely not the frou-frou type. Adore that sweater/skirt: very simple and very feminine.

    • Chickadeep

I admit to having a bit of a retro-fashion bias (I was into vintage as a teenager, long before it was a fashion thing), but these are LOVELY on her. I am even liking a Peter Pilotto skirt, which is saying something. Only one I don’t like is the Giambattista Valli, which is a little too First Communion for me,.

    • Amy

Nice clothes. You should also post the one with Jennifer Connelly, that one was nice too.

    • Little_Olive

A bit JCrew catalog, but she looks great nonetheless.

    • anneland

Also, the set styling makes it look super catalog.

    • SierraDelta

The skirt’s Peter Pilotto, and I can’t believe I covet it.

    • fursa_saida

I LOVED THAT. Not just as a variation; I also think it really suits her.

    • decormaven

Yes! Some variation in the set styling would be much appreciated.

    • decormaven

Had that same reaction. That is a very cute skirt.

Public Service Announcement: Do not drink wine and post or you will forget who is who in movies from the 80’s and post it on TLo for the world to see.

    • @Biting Panda

      To the shaming corner!!
