Jessica Paré for Fashion Magazine

Posted on February 06, 2014

Miss Jessica gets her mega-mod Megan Draper on for the cover of Fashion Mag:

“Mad Men” star Jessica Paré covers the March 2014 issue of Fashion magazine in a Kaufmanfranco dress photographed by Gabor Jurina and Zeina Esmail. Earrings by Tom Binns.

Gorgeous. And great styling. They took a fairly simple dress and came up with an eye-popping pseudo-mod look with some hair-teasing, heavy eye makeup and ridiculous earrings. We kinda wish she’d dress like this more often instead of that “serious fashionista” look she goes for. Then again, we think the entire Mad Men cast (with the exception of Elisabeth Moss) should just wear their costumes all the time.

Those earrings need to come and live in my house.

    • BayTampaBay

Sorry Kathy but those earrings just RSVPd acceptance of my invitation to be formally received at my house for as long as they care to be received.

      • Kathy_Marlow

Can we put them on a share plan? I’m in Tampa Bay too! We could make this work!

        • Glam Dixie

          One each!

        • MilaXX

can I get in on this?

        • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

Let’s just make a Sisterhood of the Fabulous Earrings between the Bitter Kittens around the world and nobody will be harmed, OK?

    • kimmeister

I hope they come with miniature helium-filled balloons hidden in the back to keep them from killing your ear lobes!

      • Kent Roby

Those would be “starter” earrings for serious drag queens, something to get them used to wearing earrings until working up to the really big shoulder-dusters!

  • VioletFem

This is a good look for her. She should wear her hair big an wavy more often.

    • @Biting Panda

I want my hair to BE that hair.

    • Ginger

Agreed. The plastered against her head styles she favors don’t do her justice.

    • Rhonda Shore

      She looks spectacular!!!

    • Gayer Than Thou

She looks super pretty here, but because I’m 12, I totally want “Fason” to mean something dirty in some other language.

      • AnnaleighBelle

You can take comfort in the fact that there’s a sexplosion going on somewhere, but I’m not sure I’m enjoying the mental picture…

  • @Biting Panda

    BAM Bitches!!

    • BayTampaBay

I think make-up looks great definitely a late 1960s mod vibe but very modern at the same time. LOVE IT!

      • @Biting Panda

I do too. I’m living for this whole shot, right now. The tiny visible tooth gap, the colors in the earrings, the face, and that big ol’ blow out hair. Loving it.

  • Diego!

Gorgeous cover!!! She looks and is so beautiful! I love it!

  • AzSportsGirl

That hair — her head calls for the heavy blow-out

  • Sobaika

Freaking fab. She should stick to that hair style – I’m sure a lot of it is fake, but the slicked back ‘dos aren’t that flattering.

  • KinoEye

SEXPLOSION! Hahahaha. Anyway, she really does nail that mod style. Hand over the earrings, mon petit chou! And she has such exaggerated features that her face can easily handle all the makeup that goes into such a look. Love it.

    • Anna

Hand them over TO ME. I want them!!!

Agree with you on all points. Also love the Grecian Goddess feel to the look on the runway.

  • HM3

AND it has pockets! Pulling of Diaphanous and glamorous all at the same time. Good work, Fashion!
Also: there’s a fashion magazine that’s LITERALLY just called “Fashion?” Sounds like a cliché.

    • Lucía Gavello

Totally off topic but I’m loving your avatar! I was Jane for a costume party last November 😉

  • decormaven

I like it all, but at first glance, I thought the earrings were attached to the dress. Maybe just a little head tilt back, and it would be utterly fab.

    • marlie

I like the way that the lines of the earrings seem to connect to the straps of the dress. It enhances the look for me for some reason.

  • Glam Dixie

Dayum! Girl is looking fine, possibly the best I’ve seen her look outside of an episode of the show.

    • marlie

      Jinx. :)

      • Glam Dixie

Haha, jinx indeed. You are obviously a woman of great intelligence! :)

  • deelup

The earrings look like peacocks and my lobes ache looking at them.

    • MilaXX

Most large earrings aren’t really heavy at all. Unless they did bad photoshopping these don’t even go in the ears. They loop over the ears.

  • marlie

Gorgeous. I think this might be the best I’ve seen her dressed outside of her Mad Men drag. I love the big hair, the earrings are beautiful, and her skin/makeup is flawless.

  • Tatiana Luján

Those earrings don’t go with that neckline.

    • TAGinMO

Right?! Looks like the dress is hanging off her ears.

      • Tatiana Luján

      • Jacqueline Wessel

I agree, maybe something as simple as a slightly different pose would have fixed that.

        • Sweetvegan

I thought so too – just a slightly different shot, with a different pose or a different camera angle would’ve fixed that.

    • mshesterp

That was my first thought too, although I feel I should like the effect more than I do. But still, she looks lovely and dramatic.

  • MilaXX

Love that cover and want those earrings.

  • Danielle

    I covet that dress.

  • Jessica Freeman

She looks amazing. Her face is so naturally striking that the softer make up looks better on her. When she ventures into harsh territory she over does it when she doesn’t need to.

  • jw_ny

She looks gorgeous in that cover shot…those earrings tho…too too much! The same ones at about 1/2 the size would be lovely and flattering, not overwhelming as those are.

  • Raymond Dnomyar

    Wow, her makeup is beautiful.

  • 3boysful

I, too love the earrings, but I dislike how the photography of the cover makes it appear that they are attached to the dress.

    • schadenfreudelicious

That was exactly my first thought!

  • crash1212

Excellent cover. While I understand that this hair and makeup won’t work in every situation, seems to me this is the general area she should default to on most occasions.

    • kimmeister

Agree about the makeup. She should play up those amazing eyes more often, and the subtle-but-not-nude lip color is great on her.

      • marlie

I think she’s one of the few ladystars who might benefit from the “nude”-lip trend. At least until her makeup artist figure out a lip color that looks good on her.

  • SylviaFowler

    GORgeous! Perfect cover for her.

  • NurseEllen

Channeling Jean Shrimpton, for sure. She looks fab!

  • lobsterlen

This is definitely a Be Her. Gorgeous. Stunning.

  • poorellensmith

    Personal best — hands down.

  • boweryboy

  • nowlo

I like the look. There had to be a better shot/angle than this one, though. I also would have liked this even better if her hair were put up in a soft beehive. You’d keep the volume and mod-ness, but everything would look lighter.

  • MaggieMae

  • Katie Wolf

Just realized, the other day, she was in Hot Tub Time Machine. Love her!

  • Jaeda Laurez

She looks fabulous. I love the neckline and the earrings- reminds me of the “rich club” from Sweet Charity.

  • Coleen

Valley of the Dolls is totally her wheelhouse.

  • Bexxx

    Fas on, fas off.

  • Cheryl

It’s amazing what a great pair of earrings can do. On the model, it look a little ‘wedding trousseau/negligee’, on Pare, with the big hair and accessories, it’s quite quite lovely.

  • Gatto Nero

    A fabulous look for her.
Itching for the new season of MM.

  • another_laura

“Then again, we think the entire Mad Men cast (with the exception of Elisabeth Moss) should just wear their costumes all the time.”

So very true. Isn’t that an indicator of just how great the casting is on that show?

    • Terri Smith

I would throw Kiernan Shipka into the exception as well. Kiernan Shipka fashion > Sally Draper fashion.

  • frannyprof

I think the earrings are a skosh too far for this look. Gorgeous? yes. But distracting for this look.

Re: “wear their costumes all the time” – I could not agree more!

  • demidaemon

Pretty. I’m tired and at work, so I have no other words

  • Kate4queen

That’s actually a bed sheet strung through a shower curtain ring isn’t it? But she manages to make it look good.

  •!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Can I just live in that dress all summer?

  • traceyishere

  • Dagney

So,…is her head supposed to be the “H”?

  • Trickytrisha

Is it just my perception being off, or does she have very high set ears? Those earrings look like they’re glued to the middle of her ears. They, and she, are gorgeous here though.

  • GeoDiva

    One of her best!

  • KT

Gorgeous!! I totally love this look for her.

  • Carly Clement

I just dont see it…. the angle of the camera makes her body look very strangely poportioned…. maybe if they did a close up shot of her face and shoulders and a bit of her torso it would work better… I think hair and make up and earrings are amazing, but I don’t think they match the dress.

  • Joanna

She drives me nuts on the show….but she always looks great in the 60s stuff. As she does here.

  • LeelaST

I have an Indian Christmas ornament that looks just like those earrings.

  • Ajay

LOVE her on Mad Men. I think she really looks good and even more beautiful in white dress. The dress and the perfect pair of earrings are such a fabulous combinations. Simplicity and elegance. STUNNING !

  • Hayley

Love her makeup! Will attempt the eye makeup.

  • Clash D

I want to photoshop those bloddy earrings out of what-would-have-been an absolutely perfect look. Make up looks amazing.
