Ooo… I was hoping you guys would post this collection. I love it.

ETA: A few silhouettes are wonky, but I love the graphics, the bold colors, the prints. Some of the details I’m not in love with but overall I had to catch my breath when I first saw this.

      • StarburstLady

Yeah, I have to say I really like the overall impact of this collection. I love bright colors and interesting prints, and I think the prints here manage to feel fresh. The whole thing feels very Dutch to me– is that weird? But between the bulb flowers and cozy knits, I’m imagining wandering around Amsterdam in these clothes!

    • hughman

I like my corsage like I like my men – big, loud and crawling up to sit on my face.

      • ballerinawithagun

So they are lilies…OK we get it.

        • hughman

At least you didn’t say pansies! ;)

      • Evan

        “Big” in what way? ;)

    • demidaemon

I hate these silhouettes, and the color story is not great at all. It looks like Dorothy Zbornak’s wardrobe.

      • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

I was thinking a Fashion Salute to Football: I see the Chargers, Steelers, Broncos, and Raiders.

        • Lorelski

          Good call.

        • demidaemon

          Upscale jerseys?

    • BobStPaul

      A truly ugly collection.

    • kimmeister

Wow, a collection that includes shoes a person could wear in real life!

      • ballerinawithagun

        I do adore the T-straps!

    • ballerinawithagun

Individually a few pieces are good, the fuchsia and gray striped coat, for example. But as a collection, YUCK!!! And as I replied to hughman, did you really have to point out that lilies were the inspiration???

    • @Biting Panda

      It’s certainly not boring.

    • NMMagpie

Eight from the bottom: best of the collection.

      • Evan

I like the green top with black stripes tenth from the bottom. I kind of wish it had been paired with a pencil skirt though.

        • NMMagpie

That would have been killa with a pencil skirt.

    • Sunraya

Feels a bit like an acid trip would, if I had ever done acid. But I do like the colors!!!

    • Sarah

Ok, I’m hella confused by the 5th look from the bottom (Navy blazer & pants) Do the silver bits go on both the pants AND the top, or is the whole thing connected by the silver bits like a jumpsuit made to look like separates? And are the pants sheer all over or just side panels? Or SHIT, is it a normal top & pants with a sheer silvery-flowered tunic OVER? But then how the hands in pockets? WTF.

      • SugarSnap108

I know, I’ve been staring at that one, asking these and other questions — such as “Why?”

      • Imasewsure

I was blinded by conflicting patterns way before I crawled to that piece… WTF indeed

        • Sarah

Well, now that I’m home and have a better monitor to look at, I think it IS a tunic over top, with slits on sides allowing hands in pockets. Still totally weird and fairly difficult to wear.

      • barbarienne

YES! Glad to know it isn’t just me. In a collection full of op-art patterns, that outfit is the real illusion.

    • SugarSnap108

If I concentrate enough, I can see individual pieces that I really like — That first gray-and-fuschia coat (minus the tacked-on thing at the shoulder) is lovely. But most of the silhouettes are just too boxy and unflattering.

    • icm

I don’t get the big lilies hanging over the shoulders. They look like the silk ones from Micheals that have been spraypainted.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

Come with me, coats! I will save you from the horror of further contact with these psychedelic sacks.

    • Snailstsichr

I want the orange T straps!

    • CKMia

Oh, Dries. Wow. Amazing mix of patterns, gorgeous 1940’s influence, delicious knitwear – I love this. Plan on seeing pieces from this collection on every fashion editor and street style urchin at the spring 15 shows. Just …wow.

    • MilaXX

LOVE! All of it. If I had the drop that gray/fuchsia coat would be mine! I can’t see anyone but Solange wearing those mixed prints, but I’d love to see some ladies try.

    • Trickytrisha

Uh, this made me dizzy. Not a good feeling.

    • Jacob Bowen

That copper/blue striped dress is FABULOUS and the dress underneath is beautiful also! I also LOVE the shoes that are gray with a color (orange, yellow).

      • icm

That dress is fab! agree with you. .Your comments are a perfect example of why I think it would be great if the pictures could be numbered. If you could say the dress in pic # 3and the shoes in pic # etc.etc, I could scroll back really quick and know exactly which items you are talking about. I have made this comment before. I think when there are designer collections it would be helpful if the pics were numbered.

    • semirose

So do we not button or zip coats anymore? Only belts allowed? I really like some of the pieces (that yellow and grey diamond sweater is calling my name as is the yellow and black striped coat with the buttons) but there’s just SO MUCH. I want it to be two collections.

    • ankali

Oooh, I dig! I don’t know why, because his stuff is waaaayyyyy outside of my style or comfort zone, but I always so admire Dries Van Noten’s collections. Bold, thoughtful, creative, arty, hipster-y but without being pretentious *cough*ProenzaSchouler*cough*.

    • mcbishop

      Digging the coats…..

    • Nicole Little

      COOL!

    • Jeremiah Capacillo

      Denise Huxtable.

    • lizajane1776

My eyes are in pain, but they had so much fun getting that way!

    • PastryGoddess

I’m not gay…but I gasped when looking at this collection

    • Lorelski

I did a sort of Rorschach test on this line, scrolling down quickly and, to my eye those color combos are butt-ugly, with the exception of the orange and black striped dress and the one below it, both of which I like a lot. But mostly, what a stinker of a collection. The pieces age everyone who’s wearing them.

    • MK03

Modeled by Olivia Wilde and her clone army.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

      Inspired by Stereolab album covers?

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

        How’d your exams go?

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Ugh, ok. I think. I don’t know. Thanks for asking.

      • boweryboy

        The Miss Modular collection?

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

          Yeees.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

The black and silver striped coat says SWINTON to me, the holographic drop-waist dress (sans lily) goes to Michelle Dockery, and the blue and copper, with a belt, for Miss Lupita.

    • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

Rightly or wrongly, I see Maggie Gyllenhaal in everything.

    • LadyCelia

I want all of the coats.

So nice to see a collection that is interesting without being completely “emperor’s new clothes” for a change.

    • greenwich_matron

Am I the only one who thinks this screams early 1980s? achromic with a pop of neon, mid calf skirts, bagginess and loose construction, short, asymmetrical hair. Can’t decide if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

    • marlie

This is not a collection for everyone, but I really, really like it – some of the pieces are really gorgeous!

    • javajunkie

Willy Wonka goes on a cruise.

    • MaggieMae

Interesting, but not my style. Some of the fabrics remind me of prints at IKEA.

    • GoAwayKardash

      SHOES!!! Yummy yummy yummy.

    • conniemd

Count me in as one who loves the boldness and the football team colors :) The coats and jackets are particularly stunning. I’m not sure the pieces pair well together, but there are a lot of individually wearable pieces in the collection.

    • kategs

      Many pieces here I want.

    • frannyprof

I love and want it ALL.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

Dsquared is in 1963 and Dries Van Noten is in 1967.

    • HeatherMcIlrath

in an opium den in Marrakesh, Chloe Sevigny views this collection and silently whispers “i think i just found my wardrobe for next year”

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

I like some of it — but, neon colored spring flowers for a fall collection? However that black and silver coat is awesome (4th pic dow).

    • Renaissance_Man_ATL

Wow, I haven’t liked a DVN collection in ages but this is great! I love the 40’s meets early 80’s with a dash of recent Prada bold prints feel. Some looks are overdone, of course, it’s a runway show, but overall, it’s fabulous!

    • quiltrx

That black and silver striped coat wants to be mine forever.
I like a lot of the colors (but not all the combinations of them) and the prints are nice. I really like the wavy striped stuff, and all the coats. And my eye keeps going back to that ‘liquid silver’ tulip skirt.

    • colorjunky

Love the geometric prints and coats. That weird round shoulder silhouette, which is becoming tres chic, is not flattering. Makes a gal look like a football player.

    • Gatto Nero

Some really great fabrics and patterns. The coats and jackets are particularly good.
I’m all for an exaggerated silhouette, when done well. But some of these looks (e.g., photos 1 and 3 in the vertical string) just look ill-fitting, which undermines the effect.

    • Lilyana_F

Really interesting stuff, some of it pretty, some clever ideas, impeccable execution. Love it.

    • Madam Von Sassypants

Not digging the silhouettes, but adore the color and pattern in the fabrics here.

    • http://trooperschaf.blogspot.de/ TrooperSchaf

I love the prints and colors, but the shapes?? Some of the models seem to think “I starved myself just to put on clothes, that are at least 5 sizes to big”.
