David Beckham in Burberry at Major League Soccer Franchise Press Conference

Posted on February 07, 2014

We always thought it was odd that he’s essentially become an underwear model, because it’s a waste of his modeling potential. Not to take anything away from his enviably fit bod, but…

David Beckham at a Major League Soccer Franchise press conference at the Perez Art Museum in Miami in Burberry.

He looks ridiculously hot when you dress him up. Is it just us? Believe us, we are NOT prudes about anyone, male or female, showing off the goods, but some people – even people with amazing bodies – actually look much sexier when they’re dressed to their best effect, rather than when they’re dressed in practically nothing.

Having said that, his shoes are clearly way too big (to HILARIOUS effect when you see his feet from the side) and his hem is way too long.

    He looks ridiculously hot period.

    • random_poster

      Big socks?

      • Danielle

    • lillyvonschtupp

      Maybe he has wide ankles.

    • e jerry powell

      More shoe polish?

  • Paigealicious

Like they say…sometimes it’s hotter to leave it to the imagination…especially when a well-tailored suit hits all the right places.

  • Adrianna Grężak

I know men want to brag about their shoe size, but those look silly!

I think he looks great in a gray suit

    • Latin Buddy

I have had my fair share of experience – actually, a lot of peoples’ fair share of experience – shoe size says absolutely nothing about the man-bits 🙂

      • lillyvonschtupp

        You aint lying.

        • Aurumgirl

Let us all sigh together for the truth in that pronouncement.

      • Danielle

Preach. Big shoes are the male answer to the push-up bra.

      • barbarienne

I don’t have a particularly extensive sample pool, but you are completely correct, in my experience.

      • @Biting Panda

I am of the belief (and experience) that hands tend to reveal the most clues about “character”.

        • MikeW_Vegas

So are you saying that Mr Beckham’s “character” is all tatted up? *G*

      • didgerdoni

Y’all. I once dated the manager of a pickle factory (I am not making that up and it’s not pertinent here, but still hysterical) who had tiny hands and feet. It.Is.A.Myth.

  • I mean, it is fairly obvious to me, between this and the H&M ad, that he would like to be the next James Bond.

And, he could probably pull it off. 🙂

    • charlotte

      Shake it like Bondham?

    • Except he couldn’t pull it off unless James Bond just didn’t speak at all through the whole movie. Not a word.

      • Nikko Viquiera

I wouldn’t mind a non-speaking James Bond if he was naked the whole time. haha.

      • kimmeister

I was fairly alarmed just seeing him holding a microphone here.

  • Dam_Angel

Nope, I disagree with you on this one, guys. I just want to see him wearing as little clothing as possible.

  • charlotte

The shoes look like clown shoes.

    • TAGinMO

OK, as a size-15 wearer myself, I can attest that sometimes our shoes are just gonna look like clown shoes.

But serious question: Where’s the visual evidence that the shoes are, as TLo opined, “too big”? I’m not seeing it. Isn’t it possible he just has big feet and these shoes, y’know, fit him?

      • We’ve seen his feet naked, you know. 🙂

      • The way the toe box curls up off the floor tells you there’s no toes filling it.

        • Does it not make one wonder what the story behind this is? Was there some kind of.. shoe incident.. and he had to shove on a pair of shoes that belonged to someone else? Did the wrong size get shipped to him? Or is it that the only way these particular shoes would fit the rest of his foot was to go to this size? Why not wear a different pair that did fit? Where was Posh and why did she not intervene?

These are questions that will unlikely ever be answered, sadly. 🙁 I will have to entertain myself by making up the answers. But you know these unanswered questions will be burning a hole in my brain for all eternity, along with so many others.. :/

      • Size 15? Wow!

    • Jen

Seriously, those are Sideshow Bob shoes

  • mjude

I have to say I like him in a full drag better.

  • another_laura

Day-um, way to wear a suit, Becks. But the toe on those clown shoes, tee hee!

  • Kate4queen

I just love him to bits, I can’t help myself, He’s my local boy done good. 🙂

  • hughman

Sometimes a microphone is just a microphone.

    • Nikko Viquiera

Cannot unsee now! It’s hypnotizing. haha.

    • Jacob Bowen

      You SLAY me!

  • lillyvonschtupp

Like Clooney, Hamm, and Elba…he just melts into a suit. Hes going to be one silver fox, Paul Newman-style.

  • MaggieMae

No, no, you’re right! Ridiculously hot when you dress him up! He looks so comfortable in his dress clothes, which only heats it up even more.

  • Kristina Sadowski

He’s ridiculously hot from the knees up.

  • @Biting Panda

Yes, I love him in the full suit. I love to imagine taking off that suit, one piece at a time.

    • hughman

      • @Biting Panda

    • Melanie

oh my. is it warm in here or is it just me? 😉

  • deelup

He is aging so well it makes me think he’s sold his soul. Sort of wish I lived in Miami so I’d have the chance to bump into him, literally, at matches.

    • Melanie

truth! second picture from the bottom just kills me.

    • Imasewsure

I think a lifetime of being an elite athlete goes a long way toward aging well – especially when you don’t stop working out later on in life. Bet he won’t hit a wall until his 80’s!!

      • deelup

Indeed. He is a footballer who takes his fitness quite seriously. The ones who do not won’t have pictures like this. I, for one, look forward to seeing Cristiano Ronaldo age as well. And I hope his taste matures too like Becks’ has.

  • lundibleu

I know exactly what you mean, I far prefer him dressed, particularly suited and booted, to poncing about in his pants. Partly it’s the tattoos and partly it’s just that he looks damn hot dressed, and slightly less so stripped off.

  • marlie

I agree wholeheartedly. I’d much rather see Becks in a suit (because DAYUM) than in his undies.

  • stubbornthoughts

I’m going to go on believing his feet are exactly that size, and you should join me in that by jumping inside my head. We’ll have SO much fun.

  • webslice33

he always looks ridiculously good in suits!

  • boweryboy

See, something must be wrong with me because I find the older gent sitting behind him much more intriguing and attractive than Beckham.

But yeah, speaking from personal experience, some people – no matter how hot their bodies are, do look more attractive dressed than undressed.

    • formerlyAnon

Something wrong with you? Just the opposite. Survival of the species (not to mention good odds on a Saturday night if one went through the phase of quantity over . . . well, almost anything else) depends upon opinions varying.

  • KinoEye

Not usually my cup of tea, but very, very nice. I would like a bit less gel in the hair, though. Looks awfully sticky. Then again, I’ve never been a fan of the overly lacquered/styled look for men.

  • MilaXX

He looks good both dressed and undressed, but I finding a perverse sense of amusement to see that woman aren’t the only ones given shoes the wrong size.

  • Joanna

I’ve always preferred him clothed. Total agreement with you, TLo uncles!

  • Alyssa

I love that he isn’t scared of his wrinkles on his face…they add so much character…I especially adore the smile lines!

  • JasmineAM

I love tattoos and showing them off, but they look so hot when they’re just peeking out from under clothes. I love the way the ones on his wrist/hands look.

  • elzatelzabelz

  • Imasewsure

He’s one of those guys I only like in suits… and it’s not even the tattoos… I just think he (or Posh) picks the right designers and then tricks out the looks just enough every time (ok hem and shoes are off but still a win overall)

  • Sharon Weiner

Way hotter with his clothes on. Too much ink for me…but I could close my eyes…

  • Pennymac

Good Lord! That smirk in picture number three has me fanning myself.
    He is hot as hell.

  • MzzPants

No, you’re right…he sets my loins on fire when he’s dressed up. As long as he doesn’t speak.

    • lamh36

Amen. Just commented on his speaking voice. I generally love an accent especially the British accent, but man Becks voice is too high pitched for me

  • nannypoo

His underwear line looks just like the stuff Hanes has been putting out there for years, so I have not understood what the big deal is about it and consequently I think he should keep his clothes on, like in the above examples. Now I’m noticing his greasy hair. And I’ve never liked that icky little beard. I guess he’s just not for me.

  • Lori

The man can really rock a suit. A lot of guys never look at home in a suit, but Becks does not suffer from that problem. Which is sort of funny considering that he made a living wearing shorts. I know men who have worn a suit 10 hours a day, 5 days a week for years and years and have never owned one the way he does. It’s a gift.

  • lalahartma

He looks MUCH better in clothes.

  • lamh36

He really does. Has anyone else seen the pics of Becks playing some soccer in his suit pants and shirt…ding dong! if you haven’t find them, cause you will fall in want to tongue kiss his tailor for how good he looks in those pants. Heck, I even have it as my background on my IPad.

. I love Becks fully dressed and silent, I’m usually a big fan of the British accent (hello Idris, Colin Firth, Benedeict, Heddleston, Fassbender..etc), but man does Becks voice ruin it for me.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

The man has a nice face and clothing sets that off for me.

    • Snailstsichr

That man has nice thighs and clothing sets that off for me. (That is totally how I read your sentence in my head.)

      • Jacqueline Wessel

        Well, that works, too!

  • Clydette Wantland

    So gorgeous!

  • Ashleigh

    Clothes look hot !!

  • jw_ny

I agree as well! His underwear super bowl ad did nothing for me…put him in a suit tho and I become interested. It’s nothing against his tats either…cause I like them in general.

As for this spread…his tie knot bugs me….the rest looks quite nice.

  • VicD

That jacket fits so beautifully… the boystars could certainly take a lesson from that anyway.

    • kimmeister

The pants are a bit troubling, though, based on how wrinkly the inseam looks.

  • Sam Smith

He looks great dressed up, but hate the tats on the hand.

  • formerlyAnon

I’d go so far that most people, even the very attractive, are sexier when dressed with a little left to the imagination.

His hair looks like a Vitalis ad. (Google, infants).

  • bitchybitchybitchy

Love the suit on him, despite the hemming problem. Beckham is growing on me…..

  • Trickytrisha

Yeah, the clown shoes are distracting and the hair is very ’50s, but dang….

  • quiltrx

Now THESE are thighs! So many others (ahem, Jamie) are just pretenders. And I agree, as great as he looks in his panties, he looks even sexier dressed to the nines.

  • d4divine

He is on fire…yes his pants are too long…but the man shines bright like a diamond anyway. Lol

  • CatherineRhodes

Is the positioning of the microphone intentional, because it’s really hot.

  • demidaemon

I totally agree. For some reason, I find him smoking all dolled up but, at least in the H&M commercials, find him not exactly unsexy but quite a bit less hot. Here, it’s “Take me home, DADDY!” There, it’s “maybe we could go out for coffee or something,” Weird.

  • lesmaha

  • ScarlettHarlot

I love me some Becks, but is there an age when he will have outgrown that hairstyle, or does he get a permanent pass on it because it’s part of his image?

  • Perigee

When he’s fully dressed, I pay more attention to his facial features, three of which (nose, jawline and mouth) could be illustrations under the definition for “traditionally attractive masculine features.” His body is super hot, I don’t mind his ink; but his face is outstandingly handsome, and I only really notice it when he is suited up. I don’t know if Posh dresses him, but if she does I think she should consider designing a menswear line. Her current line has many clean and crisp design elements I’d like to see in menswear.

  • ballerinawithagun

I just love a man with smiley, crinkling eyes!
Liz Smith just wrote about a new tell all book from Frank Sinatra’s valet. Frank was a small man in stature but apparently quite well endowed, so to everyone below, there goes the large feet or large hands comparison.

  • Yum.
