Chris Pratt on “Good Morning America”

Posted on February 07, 2014

Adorable:

“Parks and Recreation” and “The LEGO Movie” star Chris Pratt stops by the ABC Studios to appear on “Good Morning America” in New York City, New York.

Total “real guy” style from tip to toe. We would have put him in an orange tie and a slightly more stylish pair of boots, though. We also would advise him to use the second button on his shirt cuffs (if they have one; if they don’t he needs to ditch the shirt for being too loose in the cuffs) and we would have never let him go out in public with such stretched-out sweater cuffs. Basically, there’s a cuff issue at play.

And we’re just going to say it: Adorable or not, he always looks like he needs a shower.

But BoyKittens, if you’re style challenged (or thick around the middle), you can always rely on a look like this to set you right; a colorful v-neck sweater with a print shirt and a bright tie, paired with dark wash jeans. It’s the tuxedo of casual menswear. It looks good on everyone and never really goes out of style.

Am I alone in thinking those jeans are *really* big on him?

    • cjsamuel

No. I think going down a size and/or going with a slightly slimmer cut would be better. Those look dated.

      • Noah

Definitely. I’m not one of those people who’s like, “EVERYONE MUST WEAR SKINNY JEANS!” But I definitely think these are at least one waist size too big, and could use some more shape.

    • Loola234

      Male equivalent of Mom jeans?

      • luluransom

        The dreaded Pop-pop jeans.

    • traceyishere

      You are not alone

    • Bridget Smith

I wonder if he’s still trying to figure out how pants should fit him now. It took me about 6 years of wearing belts every day to figure out that I was a size smaller than I thought I was, and that was without massive weight loss/buffing up. (But with the brain of a teenager who could not have cared less about clothes, so.)

  • Diego!

This is like my outfit to come to work. I think those are NOT his jeans.

    • HM3

My husband wore almost EXACTLY this outfit to work this morning. I think he wore it better, but then, I may be a wee bit biased. ;)

      • Mismarker

There is a good chance we have the same husband.

        • Barbara Affolter

Oh, crap. I think my boyfriend is your husband. Somebody’s got some ‘splaining to do.

          • marlie

I was just about to type the same thing!

          • d4divine

We all must have the same husband…wow, that’s one busy dude

          • Random Compliments

Mine too, and I live in the Caribbean. This guy probably has amazing frequent flyer benefits.

          • Mismarker

I’ve already starting writing a country song all about it.

          • Random Compliments

            *blurts out coffee. Well done.

        • MikeW_Vegas

Are the BKs sharing Boyfriends and husbands now?

      • Jacob Bowen

I wore this same outfit yesterday (with the orange tie)!

    • kirkyo

The only way to be sure is to see how they fit in the butt, which we don’t see unfortunately.

      • Diego!

        Hahahaa funny but true! +1

  • Cortney Dean

LOL, and I was thinking how refreshing it was to see a guy NOT in super skinny/tailored jeans.

    • HM3

Agreed. Our eyes have acclimated to super-fitted, thigh-revealing plastered clothing. These aren’t within a millimeter of his skin, yet they’re actually quite closely fitted to his body–and they look great!

    • lundibleu

Same here. I’m so sick of super skinny jeans on men and women, but particularly on men. Particularly as they often look ridiculous on anyone who is anywhere vaguely approaching a normal shape.

Also, as a side mini-rant, I’m sick of skinny jeans as fashion because that means that kids jeans/trousers also become skinny. And trying to get kids to get ready can be slow at the best of times, let alone when they’ve got skinny jeans to negotiate.

      • Mismarker

My 7 y/o daughter hates skinny jeans. “Mom, they’re just so tight! It hurts to sit down.”

        • lundibleu

My 9 yr old daughter and nearly 7 yr old son have, thankfully, never demanded proper tight skinny ones, but have both had some slim fit ones – and they’re bad enough for getting on/off quickly! I’ve managed to steer them away from proper skinny ones, and will keep doing so as long as possible…

      • kimmeister

That reminds me of how every sitcom in the 80′s that included a teenage girl character had an episode in which she writhed and thrashed about hilariously in an attempt to squeeze into skinny jeans.

        • lundibleu

Hah! Yes, they probably do again now too!

    • jilly_d

SO agree. Christopher here is built like my husband, and They of the Beefy Thigh and Barrel Chest should not be wearing skinny pants. Though I would love to get my hub in that sweater/tie combo.

      • Cortney Dean

I agree! My husband has rather muscular legs (think bullfrog) so skinny jeans look terrible on him even though he’s really fit. I have the same problem (although decidedly less fit- ha!) and skinny jeans are the bane of my existence. And yes, I would LOVE to get the hubs in the sweater/shirt/tie combo too.

        • jilly_d

But they look great in football pants, don’t they? ;) Mmmmm thighs.

          • Cortney Dean

            Amen to that! :)

  • appliquer

Agreed! The jeans are okay – they would be better with different footwear.

  • @Biting Panda

I am baffled at his non-effect on me. He’s built, he’s cute scruffy or clean shaven, he’s known to be hilarious; typically the three things, that together, I cannot resist falling in crush with. But CP doesn’t even register on my flirt-o-meter. Weird.

  • Hallie

i’m so excited to see his star on the rise, he’s very talented and goodlooking at any size to boot!

  • Janet B

This is so much better than his boring RC non- look the other day

  • Jessica Freeman

Those jeans are not for him. I also want to pull his sweater down over the waist band and clean him up a bit.

    • Anna

Agreed. They’re better than Bradley Cooper’s jeans, but still not doing it for me.

  • newleaf1

He’s just so super cute – I just want to have a beer with him. And he looks pretty good too.

  • kirkyo

Nah, I bet he smells nice.

  • Danielle

    I’d hit it.

  • Sam Smith

Look how cute he is posing with the little lego man.

  • teensmom99

I actually think that for once he looks squeaky clean. Of course, I love him dirty too. Awesomesauce!

  • Mismarker

Back to back Parks and Rec peeps! Any chance Rob Lowe is promoting a new project today? : )

  • MilaXX

Ordinarily I find guys like this annoying. The type of guy who is always on. Will Ferrell falls in that category for me. Yet for some reason I like Chris Pratt. I do like the idea of a brightly colored tie breaking up all that blue.

    • marlie

The difference is that Will Ferrell always seems to be *trying* to be funny all of the time. CP just looks like he’s genuinely a sweet, goofy, funny guy, but not a try-hard, which is why he doesn’t bother me.

      • boweryboy

        Will Ferrell is insufferable.

  • marlie

This is adorable (adorkable?). This is also totally how the bf dresses (complete with wider-legged jeans), which is why I might be biased.

  • merciblahblah

He just seems so damn affable, hilarious, charming, etc. that he could be standing there in a UPS uniform and I would still find him adorable.

  • boweryboy

To my eyes his jeans fit weird, or maybe I’ve grown accustomed to the skinny jean look and this is really how jeans are suppose to fit. Also, is his sweater tucked in? Please tell me it’s not so.

I do agree an orange tie would’ve bumped this up a notch. Plus, he’s a ginger so I can’t hate. He’s adorabaly delicious. He can share a shower with me anyday.

    • marlie

I don’t know if it is, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Plus, I’ve had to tell the bf to untuck his sweater before, so maybe Anna didn’t get to him before he walked out the door.

    • MaggieMae

My eye wants to pair those particular shoes he is wearing with a skinnier jean. Or, keep those wide leg jeans and pair them with clunkier boots or shoes. Proportion, darling.

      • filmcricket

Yes, with those shoes (and the waistband showing) these become total Dad jeans.

        • boweryboy

Wait. Didn’t he loose a lot of weight? So maybe he’s dressing his nonexistent larger self. I’m trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

          • demidaemon

I think his weight has fluctuated pretty wildly recently for different roles. I could be thinking of someone else, though.

  • Ann VerWiebe

I love that he’s signing a Lego tub!

    • Kikishua

Yes, that’s the pic where I melted a little more…

  • DeniseSchipani

I have a soft spot for him because he’s built like my husband. Bulky-cute.

  • withbreaththatisbated

Love him. He looks adorable, but yeah, would have loved an orange tie with this.

  • VicD

He’s just not a fashion guy … and I’m OK with that. Being perfectly turned out doesn’t really fit his ethos. I would love to see him in a perfectly tailored bespoke suit, but he’s more the “just rolled out of bed and this was on the floor” type … kinda like my husband and most of the guys I know.

  • Sif

I have to disagree with the orange tie. Chris is going after the “blue on blue on blue” trend, and I’m not sure if the tricky orange would look great against his skin tone. It’s great that the blue in his outfit are not clashing against each other, and I give him credits for wearing a two-tone necktie.

  • rissa42210

I think this looks terrible. I see this 100 times over every jeans day at the office. This is boring and therefore unacceptable.

  • acevedob

    I hate this guy.

  • JimMcC

If I didn’t love Anna Faris so much, I would despise her for having him as a husband. Instead, I will continue to root for them to have an incredibly amicable divorce, followed by Chris’s unexpected coming out and surprising decision to date a totally average dude. Namely, me.

This comment is totally off topic. So I will add this: needs a belt!

  • Lindsey Romain

    I’m in love with him.

  • Betsy

He looks like my husband when he tries to be hip and stylish. Endearing, but still not quite fashionable.

  • RussellH88

Yay, a BoyKitten tip, I’m always up for those.

I think he looks good, but having gone to a Catholic School from K-12 and having to wear a uniform has made me hate anything with a collar on it.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

    Really cute face here.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

Cannot wait for “Guardians of the Galaxy” pole dance. Pratt, Karen Gillan and Lee Pace – my fangirl worlds of (cubic zirconia) comics and favorite actors will collide.

  • Jenna621

Why couldn’t he wear this to the opening of his movie?

  • Patrick Cleary

I’m hoping this means an end to the skinny jeans idea, because as a muscular-thighed guy (I’ve been a runner since high school), finding jeans that I can pull up over my legs that don’t fall off at the waist is a huge pain.

  • Sean Selman

THANK you for bringing up the sweater-shirt cuff topic, boys! I cannot get a straight answer on this: What is the proper cuff placement!? Do I show a quarter inch of shirt cuff? A half inch? Do I show all the sweater-elastic part, or am I supposed to roll it over slightly, or even half it? A photo essay would be ideal. Winter is just the worst season.

  • http://www.what-the-frock.com Dana WhatTheFrock

Chris Pratt is totally my boyfriend. I don’t care what he wears.

  • Me Again

Serious question: when wearing a sweater over a long-sleeved shirt, like Chris is doing, should the tips of the shirt sleeves stick out from beneath the sweater? And if so, how does that not result in stretching out the cuff of the sweater?

  • BridgetK

I’m a total fan of his and can’t be analytical about what he is wearing. He’s just so cuuuuute!

  • smayer

    Belt… Belt!

  • Nika E

    Adorable indeed

  • jw_ny

I’d seen him on GMA yesterday..he was even more adorable than these pics make him out to be. Really fun personality. This outfit looks great on him…gonna choose to forget that black mess he wore at the Lego movie premiere that he was featured in a few days ago.

  • ThreeDimen

The orange tie suggestion made me smile. Not happening this week. (It’s a football thing.)

  • d4divine

Sorry if this comment is bitchy, but he looks a lot better without his plastic surgery gone wrong wife on his arm.

  • anotherkate

He is both cute and hot.

  • demidaemon

My only complaint is that I think that length of sweater requires a belt. If the sweater covered his belt loops, I wouldn’t mind it, but the belt loops are clearly exposed.
