Those shoes startled me. I don’t know what I was expecting, as I scrolled down, but they are not it. It’s not my favorite blanket turned dress, but we’ve seen worse.

    • kimmeister

The shoes are her subtle way of showing all observers whether or not she is commando under that dress.

      • conniemd

I kept staring at that dress trying to figure out how it didn’t show off the good china. I think you’d have to be shaved, too.

  • PastryGoddess

She had me until I got to those shoes. You can’t do va-va voom and then those clodhoppers on her feet.

  • Grumpy Girl

The shoes are odd and make her feet look huge.

  • RL McGruder

Definitely a scrolldown fug – but, I’d appreciate the shoes with a different outfit.

  • LipstickForPigs

    Her skin is glorious.

  • Nariya

The shoes hit me like an anvil. And not in a good way, if there is even a good way to be hit with an anvil.

    But she’s pretty.

  • gabbilevy

Better than Julianne Moore’s dress from the same collection, but still not great.

  • Kent Roby

Well, she’s not in an elastic-waist tennis skirt at least. This event had the oddest collection of looks; so far it looks like every lady was going to a different event. I’m fine (but not wow’ed) with this look, and am probably the only person here who thinks the shoes are kinda fun (just because they look so different, and lethal).

    • Glam Dixie

I think the shoes are cute and really fun too, but I don’t think they go with this particular look. Too clunky.

      • Kent Roby

Yes, I would agree with your assessment.

    • Ginger

I’d wear those shoes in a heartbeat, but with a great pair of jeans or other type of pants. But who am I to give anybody style tips. I’m the one clad in spandex cycling clothes in my profile pic. :/

      • Kent Roby

Just wait; the next ladystar at this event might actually be wearing spandex cycling clothes as well. With Uggs. And a Judith Leiber bag.

        • Ginger

Swap out the Judith Leiber bag for a Vera Bradley and you’d have ALL the moms in my town. *eye roll*

  • Anna

Stars need better clothes and shoes or this event needs a new name. Kind of like the makeup from afar but it’s giving me Claire Danes clown makeup flashbacks in the close-up shots.

    • Kent Roby

It should be changed to “The Hour of WTF’ery”.

    • FrigidDiva

I had MUCH higher expectations for an eveny called Decades of Glamour especially with Bulgari as one of the hosts/sponsors. It was like having caviar and champagne dreams and instead getting beer and porkskins. Just disappointing.

  • mjude

    the. shoes. wtf.

  • MoHub

Those are the hoofiest of hoof shoes ever.

    • Kent Roby

Is Adrienne Maloof designing for Mui Mui now?

  • alyce1213

Those shoes need a lady tux.
The dress is weird and unusual, but I don’t hate it. She looks very nice and she’s certainly selling it well.

  • marlie

I love the shoes, just not with this dress. I imagine wearing them with a killer pantsuit or something. That dress (ugly as it is) needs slightly more delicate shoes.

  • frannyprof

This is officially the new “difficult dress” that all young starlets, and those who are old enough to know better (I’m looking at you, Julianne M.) are attempting to pull off.

    • Introspective

and while so many are trying, surprise, surprise, it works for none of them.

  • crash1212

I’m surprised how much I like this dress and I think she’s totally pulling it off. Those shoes are a challenge and do not go with this outfit. AT. ALL.

  • Sarah

She is making that dress look better than it has a right to, I think. I also think that I would like to unfold that dress & take me a nice squishy nap. She can keep her stompers and find a look that better suits their nature.

  • 3boysful

I would like this better, I think, if the bodice had a different design–lose the draped shawl effect. The fabric makes me think of a deconstructed Chanel jacket. (Wouldn’t that be an interesting PR challenge? “Take this gazillion dollar Chanel suit and create something fashion-forward . . . .”)

  • International Model

    Seconds of Glamor

    • ryenerman

I really wish I hadn’t just taken a big drink of Coke when I read this. New keyboard needed.

  • skipiddydoda

Her face – features, expression, makeup – screams “Decades of Glamour” event to me.

Also, I kind of really love those shoes, but agree they’re not quite right for the dress.

  • SugarSnap108

The pumps look like dressy bowling shoes.

  • MilaXX

The dress & accessories are okay, but the makeup looks too heavy, almost like stage makeup and the shoes are far too heavy and clunky.

  • Jessica Freeman

Were all the ladies informed prior to, to wear the silliest dresses they could find to this event? Ladies, even Bvlgari jewelry cannot distract from all this fuckery.

  • Alicia

Her lipstick is too orange but I appreciate that she made the attempt at glamour.

    • Fanny_Trollope

      The lipstick, it burns.

    • kimmeister

I’m actually shocked at how decent she looks in it though.

  • Capt. Renault

It’s nice to see that with the steel-toed shoes, Camilla takes workplace safety seriously.

  • barbarienne

Not loving the weightiness of the cowl and the sheerness of the skirt. Somehow the bodice is lined but not the skirt? That reads to me as “Oops! I forgot to put on pants! Don’t look at my goodies, tee-hee!”

Not that I think Ms. Belle is saying that–I think she’s carrying it off really well–but I kind of want to smack the designer for sending out a half-finished dress.

  • In_Stitches

I love the dress; it’s like Chanel but made by someone with joie de vie. I can’t get past the orange lips and the shoes though.

  • J. Preposterice

oh! that’s what earrings that shape are for. how lovely.

  • rissa42210

    those shoes are hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiideous

  • Alyssa

I love the earrings…I think the shoes could work with a different dress. I just spent way too long trying to determine whether or not her dress is lined…my immediate guess was not, but upon inspection, I think it is, thank goodness.

  • boweryboy

Bump it hair, a belted comforter, and safety toed shoes do not make a glamourous look.

  • bertkeeter

I don’t get this designers claim to fame…. Loving hands at home!

  • AC Simons

I haaate those shoes. And is that dress transparent in the nether region? OUT and NO!

  • suzq

I had to wear steel toed shoes once, on a construction site. They were not as attractive as these. They would look better with a more substantial dress. I’m conflicted about the dress. It’s trying too hard to be interesting. The materials just aren’t worth the design. The “plaid” fabric doesn’t have enough visual interest and exposed strap looks cheap.

    • Gatto Nero

The fabric — oh, the horror.

  • MyFavoriteColorIsGlitter

I can’t with the ugly orange lips.

  • E. D.

Surprisingly, I like everything but the shoes, even the orange lipstick. If the heels were stiletto, I would even like the shoes.

  • lobsterlen

What did she do with belt? Was it too big and instead of cutting it to fit did she double end under?

  • MzzPants

I’m buyin’ everything but the goldfish lips.

  • Nonnah

I started singing John Denver’s “Grandma’s Feather Bed”. It looks like an origami quilt.

  • KayEmWhy

The shoes no, dress no, makeup why?

  • KT

The dress is really aging and the shoes are hilariously ugly and wrong. This girl has such an amazing face, it’s too bad she can’t get the rest of herself/her career together. I’m a bitch.

  • jw_ny

Italian soap star diva….sans the shoes, which would look better with pants.

  • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

Where on earth did they find my shoes from 1971???

    • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

…and yes, I REALLY did own a pair just like that…

  • Lisa_Co

I kind of like the shoes because with that chunky heel they’ll be much more comfortable and easier to walk in than stilettos.

  • Youbeguilemenot

I need that shade of lipstick in my life! Anyone suggest a drug store equivalent? Merci.

  • B_C_J

Modern Chanel – absolute perfection. The only thing I don’t care for is the lipstick

  • MarissaLG

This would look great on Ms. Dita. On Camilla it looks okay, but kind of sloppy.

  • colorjunky

Lupita’s stylist needs to see these shoes! I want to be Camille!

  • formerlyAnon

That dress is a bit of a mess, but damn, she’s got great posture.

  • Colin

Love this look, at first I wished the purse was a pop of color but that would just detract from the detail in the dress. smart style

  • Sally Spannagle

I love the dress on her but at first glance those shoes looked like giant high top sneakers.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

  • ThaliaMenninger

I can’t possibly hate those shoes enough.

  • Lilyana_F

Ok, if I imagine it with different shoes I think it works for me. Always striking face.

  • Deborah Lipp

I kind of love those shoes, but they don’t work with this dress. They look a lot like giant magnets that are holding her to the floor.

  • Andrea

If you have to wear orange lipstick, this is the way to do it.

  • quiltrx

I bet Bvlgari cussed out everyone who came to this event. Just a bunch of weirdness all around. And is the bodice lined, but the skirt isn’t? WTF?
