WITFU: Michael B. Jordan in Louis Vuitton at the “That Awkward Moment” LA Premiere

Posted on January 29, 2014

Perfection – or damn close to it:

Michael B. Jordan attends the premiere of “That Awkward Moment” in Los Angeles, California in a Louis Vuitton suit paired with Christian Louboutin shoes.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 Collection

We just love this guy. Never takes a day off on the style front, always willing to Willis it the Fuck Up every single time he steps out. Love the color story here, although we probably would have chosen something other than red for the tie, since the shirt already matches the suit a little closely. You add a tie that also matches the suit and the look comes a little close to some sort of semi-formal uniform. Not a mistake big enough for us to withhold the WITFU prize, though. He still looks great.

We’d love to see him step a bit outside the skinny suit/skinny tie mold he’s in at the moment. Nothing wrong with sticking to a look that works for you, but he’s shown enough style (or someone in his employ has) that we’re curious to see what else he can do.

  • Noah

He makes me weak at the knees.

    • sagecreek

Alas, I’m way too old for that. He is pretty, though, I’ll grant you that.

  • Sobaika

I know this is supposed to be about the clothings, but he gets me all a dither and I can’t concentrate. Happy humpday, all.

    • Donyelle

his smile slays me every time.

      • KinoEye

If he flashed that smile at me, I think I’d agree to just about anything he asked. I don’t think I’d even hear the question. I’d just nod foolishly and drool.

      • AudreysMom

smile + talent + character + cool. I want my daughter to marry this man.

  • Leah Elzinga

there’s a man that could totally rock the double breasted suit. mmmmm hmmm.

    • alyce1213

Yeah, I think he can wear anything. His body is perfectly proportioned and he shows good sense in having clothes tailored properly. He also carries himself well.

      • kimmeister

Yeah, I suspect he could carry off Lederhosen!

    • quiltrx

I was just thinking I’d kind of like to see how he would work a double-breasted (or at least wider-lapelled) suit and a wider tie.

  • Sarah

He is very cute, and I can’t deny that he is werquing that suit, but I don’t really like the suit in and of itself. Not his fault, though. He can carry on with his adorableness.

  • Beardslee

Nothing is as beautiful as beautiful tailoring. This kid knows what he’s doing. And he is extremely adorable.

  • megohd

    He is stunning.

In other news, the apparent concept behind this movie makes me sad. He is too good for this Zac Efron vehicle.

    • MilaXX

I get what you are saying but he’s at the point in his career where I think doing a light, brainless comedy was a good move. It keeps him from gaining a rep as super serious all the time.

      • sagecreek

Exactly. Plus a light brainless comedy that’s likely to pull in a lot of $$$. No bad there.

        • ana170

That’s debatable. None of the lead actors are box office draws and this movie sounds like one of dozens that come out each year. I agree MBJ needs to do something different but I don’t know how much this will help his career. It’s currently at about 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and from what I’ve read he’s given little to do.

I know he’s in the running for some more high profile projects, like the new Star Wars so that could do more but he’d be better off trying for Denzel-type career rather than Will Smith.

      • Sobaika

And it’s basically the only high-profile role he’s gotten (I could be wrong, haven’t seen Parenthood) that isn’t tied to being black. I’m ready for a new leading MoC heartthrob who can headline movies and bring in audiences. Gimme.

        • filmcricket

Yup. Plus he needs to get in there before the Smith spawn tries to take that mantle over from his dad.

          • Imasewsure

Gawd what a horrible reminder of the impending doom that is the Spawn of Smith/P-Smith… makes me want to whip my hair back n’ forth… I whip my hair back n’ forth… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

          • Sobaika

I love Willow! She seems to have brains. And style.

The other Kardashian-adjacent one I have no time for.

          • MilaXX

I can’t wait to see what happens when she blossoms out of her colt like stage. I like her as well.

          • Ginger

Confession time: I have a large dog with a large, whip-like tail. He’s a happy dog and loves to show us just how happy he is by beating the crap out of our legs with his tail. Every time he does so, I sing “I whip my tail back and forth, I whip my tail back and forth”. There might be butt shaking on my part. My kids might also be severely embarrassed (read: scarred).

          • alyce1213

            I love dog schtick.

          • kimmeister

How about cat schtick? I sometimes wake up my cousin by having my cat Chai dance on him, and sing Lady Gaga’s “Applause,” but I change the word to “a-paws” and time it with jabs of his furry paws to my hubby’s face.

          • alyce1213

Oh that too! I have one of each and we all carry on something awful.

          • KinoEye

Excellent. I have so much cat and dog schtick, it’s hard to choose just one incident. But my little black cat is very vocal, and once when he meowed it sounded eerily like the theme to The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. So I “meow” it at him when he’s being really noisy. I can tell he knows I’m mocking him by his disapproving stare. But I have fun.

          • kimmeister

            I love it!

          • KinoEye

Also, I hope I’m not the only one who gives my cat various nonsense nicknames. George goes by Bunklebutt, Munklebutt, Doikens, Menchie-Boo, Georgepuss, Pushkin, and much more, depending on his mood.

          • kimmeister

Definitely not. Most of my cats’ nicknames end with -face and depend on how they’re acting/looking at the moment: kittyface, buttface, cuteface, honeyface, etc. Both of them are regularly called “honey” and that gets confusing for the hubs, who is also honey. He just has to discern from the tone of voice which honey is being addressed.

          • QHarp

If it makes you feel any better, my dog has been favored with many, many renditions of ‘Can’t beat my, can’t beat my, no you can’t beat my puppy-face! Mah mah mah puppy-face, mah mah puppy face…’

          • conniemd

I sing “Happy Together” to my Golden Retriever – “Me and you and you and me, no matter how you toss the dice it had to be, so happy together.”

          • Violentcello

I have a Bloodhound, so she hears a lot of “Do Your Ears Hang Low?”

          • Ginger

            You win for two reasons:
            1. You have a bloodhound
            2. You sing that to your bloodhound.

        • MilaXX

YES! And he appears to have the charm to do just that.

        • jen_vasm

He was in this teen scifi vehicle called Chronicle in 2012 that wasn’t tied to race. I caught it on cable, not bad, but clearly geared towards kids in a Cloverfield way. Even though he wasn’t the star, I kept being drawn to him. Kid’s not only got acting chops, but charisma, which is not as common in Hollywood as you’d think.

      • shirab

I mentioned this on another TLo MBJ post, but he recently said on Kelly and Michael that his mother is a wreck from seeing him die so many times in all the movies he’s been in, so he thought this would be a nice change for both of them.

        • Sobaika

Excellent side-eye at the industry. I read a quote from him (I think it might’ve been GQ) that he is very aware of the types of roles he is associated with and has been actively trying to break out them. With this movie and the rumors about Human Torch, he/his team sure are savvy.

  • MilaXX

    Hey boo, hey!

  • Anna

Loves me a cute guy in a well-deployed Glen plaid suit. No complaints here.

  • ljh

His eyes and his smile make anything he wears of secondary note. They seem to say, “Oh, yesssss, I definitely *do* know what these warm brown eyes and this sparkling smile do to women… but I am such a good guy that I would never use my powers for evil.”

  • marlie

This is perfect! I love this suit on him, and the red tie doesn’t bother me at all. I’m SO glad that there’s a young guystar who consistently appears in public looking polished and put together. Hopefully this will end up being the norm, and not the exception.

  • Missy

I want to brush his one eyebrow into place. Just…right…there… *twitch*

    Otherwise, perfection.

  • funwithpurses

I feel bad that most dudes have to be stuck wearing boring old suits. We can quibble over fit and details, but at the end of the day, is there anything duller than yet another totally predictable (if excellently tailored) suit in yet another bland plaid fabric? Why does mainstream men’s fashion have such a narrow range?

    • demidaemon

Would you prefer that he showed up in one of the Thom Browne fashions from the current collection?

  • Kathy

    He is one sharp-dressed man.

  • alyce1213

He’s the one you pick out of a roomful because he just shines. I can’t say he knots my knickers because he’s such a young thing, but he is adorablissimo! Gorgeous suit, elegant plaid, probably even better in person.

    • sagecreek

Hee! You and me both! He’s so young, I just want to make him cookies or something 🙂

    • Anna

I hear ya. My overenthusiastic ogling is reserved for man stars closer to my own age but he sure is cute.

    • Beardslee

Me too! He looks like someone I’d like my son to be friends with. A very nice young man who makes his parents proud.

  • sagecreek

Look. He made me do all caps. Bastard. 🙂

  • reallynow

yasssss! He is adorable! And the suit looks great on him.

  • mjude

    he is just a doll.

  • NinjaCate

This will be the year the Michael B. Jordan loves me. I will make it happen.

    • Imasewsure

We will dance at your wedding… just make sure to have a very large Bitter Kittens table at the reception (and loads of champagne!)

  • RussellH88

He seems to be really savvy in presenting himself. He always looks polished and together and seems to be really trying to ride this surge in his career. I mean he was on two great shows (Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, which is CRIMINALLY underrated) and with a buzzed about performance in Fruitvale Station, he seems ready to break-out and he’s dressing the part.

    • Ginger

I’m glad you listed what shows he’s been on because, other than seeing him on this site, I haven’t a clue as to why he’s famous. I clearly don’t get out much, y’all. With all of that being said, HUZZAH for a young man who seems genuine and happy! There’s not enough of that in our world. I’m looking at you, Justin Beiber (YOU NEED TO GO AWAY…NOW).

      • Sobaika

The Wire also! He is a very talented actor and his agent must have great taste.

        • Courtenay P

and that one episode of the Sopranos for about 10 seconds, never forget.

      • alyce1213

Actually, Michael B’s been working steadily since adolescence (Cosby, All My Children > onward) and he’s not only escaped the typical social/behavioral pitfalls of young fame, but has established a credible career as an adult actor. Probably attributable to good parents plus he has his head screwed on right.
Maybe if we all think it very hard at the same time, Justin Bieber will go away.

        • Spicytomato1

Yes! I feel like I’m one of the very few who remembers (or is willing to admit she remembers, lol) him as Reggie on AMC. Love to see soap actors make the big time…

        • Ginger

Good info! See, this is why I love the BKs.

    • toriadoria

      + The Wire!

      • Joy

I just cry thinking about the fate of poor Wallace

    • MilaXX

3 great shows & a soap. He was in The Wire & All My Children before FNL & Parenthood.

      • Erica_Vuitton

I didn’t know he was that character from The Wire!! He was such a baby!

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

He was GREAT in Fruitvale Station.

    • Violina23

He is one handsome guy… Loved him on Parenthood! Of course his character’s long gone, as is the running joke of how Haddie isn’t even on the family’s radar anymore, even though her mother almost died of cancer, ran for mayor, and apparently is going to open a school… 😉

  • toriadoria

Vince Howard 4eva. Clearly WITFU should be renamed MBJTFU.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

He makes me smile every time I see him. And I love his skinny suits.

  • KinoEye

Glorious. I’d love to see LV, or any designer really, pick him up as a model. Or use him in editorials. Or anything that means more pictures of him are featured on this site! But seriously, the man wears clothes like a pro.

  • Oh, THAT’S what WITFU stands for. Derp.

  • ShaoLinKitten

A beautiful man looking beautiful. Thanks, TLo.

  • Stella Zawistowski

That fabric makes me smile. His smile makes me smile. Awesome.

  • Sophia Finfer

I could stare at him all damn day.

  • Courtenay P

  • Lilithcat

Suit looks just a skooch too tight.

  • Anathema_Device

I think the shoes are too dark. Otherwise, yes, he looks great.

  • Qitkat

Love the suit. Does anyone else besides me think a darker shirt and a simple patterned tie would be a skosh better?

  • vickilu

Stop trying to make “fetch” happen!

  • The Versatile Chef

If he and Lupita were ever in the same room together, people would die from the fierceness.

  • ScarlettHarlot

I adore him, I’m so glad you keep featuring him! Does anyone feel guilty about finding him attractive since first seeing him as a kid in The Wire? I can’t shake thinking of him as Wallace, but he’s so cute now!

  • CatherineRhodes

Wonder if Bruce Willis knows what two fabulous & opinionated bloggers have done in his name?

  • All the suit wearing types in Hollywood need to get this man’s tailor on retainer.

  • allcapsERINN

    What a dashing young man!

  • Ashleigh

    I forgot what WITFU means…

    • Shawn EH

Willis it the F Up! Since Bruce always does, amazingly.

  • paginatrix

    Kid makes me all cougar-y.

  • MyFavoriteColorIsGlitter

I too would love to see him step out of that suit …

  • Denise Alden

First of all, I can’t get enough of this fantastic man. Second of all, any excuse to look at the photo that created WITFU makes my day!

  • Erica_Vuitton

So is WITFU the new WERQ for men?? Love checked suit – look at that fit! Perfect.

  • boweryboy

I dislike his earrings and Snidlely Whiplash facial hair. Outside of that, he’s pretty much impeccable.

  • Lilyana_F

I just can’t with that smile, man! And his eyes are always so sparkly.. sigh. Oh right, clothes! Well, pretty damn perfect suit AND fit. Boy knows how it’s done.

  • Alfred Cox

MmmmmmmmmmmmmHmmmmmmmm. Now that’s what I call delicious. Now let me clean up the drool that’s now on my floor.

  • BKagainwiththesweatpants

  • decormaven

One of the best male RC looks we’ve seen in a while. Kudos!

  • bitchybitchybitchy

WITFU, indeed! And yes, thank the stylist who made sure the pants were hemmed correctly.

  • quiltrx

You know you’re truly a 40-something Bitter Kitten when the sight of a perfect hem makes you fan yourself!
In a time when so many men go with “don’t give a shit” as their RC style, I love to see a man concerned with how he looks, and doing it well.

    • demidaemon

I’d like it if they could all get proper fit and tailoring down. Then we can start working on the sartorial details.

  • jilly_d

LOVE. The suit looks great but that smile is his best accessory.

  • Joy

    Yummy to mommy’s tummy!

  • Tracy_Flick

  • NBG

So. much. adorable. Just love him to pieces for his style, his smile and his grooming. WITFU, indeed.

  • ailujailuj

I saw a photo of him at the beach SANS SHIRT KITTENS!!!! omfg. I totally G’dOL. He has a beautifully defined torso. It’s times like this that this BK is sad she can’t include .jpgs in my post.

  • nannypoo

I am willing to admit I do not know who this guy is, but he’s so cute that I’m going to find out. He always looks good.

  • Jeannie Shmina Greenwald

Remove the earrings, Michael B. Other than that, perfect. Love him anyway 🙂

  • *fans self*

  • Also, does anyone else feel like a maple colored shoe might have been a better choice?

  • mariahwg

Shut yo mouth. Keep the skinny suits and ties, Michael B. A body like that should not be obscured.

  • dashwoodstole

I know technically this is good, but I don’t like the colour of the suit. But that’s defo just me.

  • heartsleeve

    He’s so pretty.
