Stephen Amell at the People’s Choice Awards

Posted on January 10, 2014

Stephen is feeling very relaxed and self-assured at the moment.

“Arrow” star Stephen Amell poses in the CBS/People’s Choice Awards Photo Booth during the 2014 People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Check out his killer leaning action.

It’s a “photo booth,” whatever that means in this context, but we suppose goofiness like leaning and waving are to be expected. It still looks weird to us. Anyway, his suit is very nice but it appears to be a skosh too small on him. That’s just a little too much bulge for suit pants, if you know what we mean.

Oh, settle down, queens. You’ll pry our Gay Cards from our cold, dead fingers. There’s a time and a place.

“Five times today have people called me Garret Dillahunt.”

  • NYCGlamourpuss

Silly Uncles. There’s never ever any such thing as too much bulge.

    • conniemd

Um yeah, particularly when you are as slamming hot and muscled as Stephen Amell. He’s my current favorite yummy.

    • Nonnah

How do you know he’s not like the Hammaconda? Maybe there isn’t a pair of trousers to contain him?

  • Coleen

You couldn’t use a prop arrow to shave that neckbeard?

  • @Biting Panda

Seems someone was too busy taking bong rips to have time for a decent shave. Visine man, look into it.

    • Janet B

      No kidding

    • Nicholas

The thing that literally pisses me off the most on Arrow is that Oliver never shaves his neckbeard.

    • decormaven

“ooh, That cat is high Look at that look in his eye…”

  • Meh. He looks like a junior partner. And we know just HOW he got his promotion.

    • Ramon Figueroa

If you have nothing god to say, come sit by me.

  • Jecca2244

every time i see a neckbeard i whisper a silent prayer of thanks that my husband is cursed with the inability to grow facial hair…

  • Anna_Cecilia

Stop looking at my bulge, right now, thank you very much.

OK, I know you’re looking so I’m going to nonchalantly lean just so.

  • Diego!

    #SAUSAGEFriday EVERYBODY!!! O_O OMG! I’m speechless. Perfection!

  • jw_ny

well..I for one am not minding a bit of bulge on sausage Friday…cheap thrill. 😉 I do agree the pants are too small tho…could use another inch of length too. Aside from the bulge…the look is kind of a snore…

  • OldPandaDayz

One instance where “skoch to small” is fine by me. I did marathon “Arrow” over the Christmas holiday though so I could just be drowning in Stephen Amell. Gonna leave this up to get me through to cocktail hour.

    • conniemd

My daughter and I marathoned “Arrow” right before Christmas. We didn’t start watching it at the beginning of last year, but we both gladly drowned in Stephen Amell during our viewing.

  • MilaXX

Love him and love the show

    • In_Stitches

I didn’t expect to, but it’s pretty damn good. Very compelling. The acting and writing can veer towards melted gouda, but sometimes, that’s perfect.

      • sweetestsith

Ditto. The group of friends have great chemistry, and I care about most of them (to my utter shock). Felicity stole my heart, I adore her.

The workout scenes in every episode certainly don’t hurt either. 😉

    • Jessica Freeman

In a moment of being utterly bored, I tried it and was fantastically surprised at how much I loved the show. I mean, him and his personality and body, well, that always helps.

      • MilaXX

It’s everything Agents of Shield should be.

      • I might have to have another go. I tried a few episodes in season 1 and it just didn’t grab me.

        • barbarienne

It has a slightly rocky start, but found its footing. If you don’t like comic-book style melodrama it might not be your thing, but the storylines develop well.

  • TAGinMO

It’s like The Hand is following me around the room.

  • WendyD

I ADORE Stephen and I am in love with these photos. What a great start to Friday! I love him wearing leather, suits, or nothing at all.

  • Chaiaiai

Hmmm, the Friday before the Superbowl, can it be Superbulge here at TLo? Pretty please?

  • wisenhar

For some of us, the bulge always looks like that when wearing flat front pants. It has nothing to do with the pants being too tight. Although, I do agree that his might be just a tad too small.

    • Congratulations. But his pants are too tight.

      • wisenhar

I wasn’t trying to brag. For me, it’s more about having an ample butt and thighs than having… ample anything else.

  • Dan_In_NYC

He’s beautiful, but a world of grooming issues are at play here.

  • Janet B

Boring, ill-fitting suit + poor grooming = annoyed bk

  • Ginger

    Five. Five dollar foot-long!

    Sorry…couldn’t help myself.

  • Frank_821

Part of me wonders if the sizing on the pants was done on purpose. The man knows how his bread is buttered and he fully embraces his sizable gay following

  • acevedob

He looks great. I have to add, though, that I hate the hair. It seems, I don’t know, noncommittal? The same goes for the beard: either have one or don’t. (I can’t believe I’m saying that!)

    • In_Stitches

The haircut looks like a grown out buzz cut (which is not a good look). He either needs to give it some length or chop it close. I disagree on the beard, although he needs to clean up his neck badly.

  • I don’t know him but he’s cute. I like the tie. And the bulge.

    • Jessica Freeman

He’s the main character on Arrow. Its on Netflix instant. Indulge yourself b/c he is one fine man.

  • Neckbeard, pants too short & tight, boring tie. Endearingly baked. If one of my nieces brought this one home for Christmas I would clutch my pearls but learn to love.

    • formerlyAnon

Great summing up. It’s the goofy smile that saves him.

  • kirkyo

Yes, Stephen. We can all see that you have very large hands.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Maybe it’s because I just looked at Leo, but this facial hair is driving me crazy. It’s a mess! No, no, no. And I agree that the suit is too small and therefore makes him look pudgy, which I’m sure he’s not. But the beard thing (that doesn’t qualify as an actual beard, just a beard thing) and the suit are combining to annoy the heck out of me.

  • formerlyAnon

I can forgive a lot for a bright smile shading into a goofy grin. (I do wish he’d shaved. At LEAST the neck.) The suit is fine and the shirt color is standard cubicle dweller with management aspirations.

But if celebrity men were candy, he’s just another pretty soft-center in the drug store box of chocolates. Fleetingly of interest, but nothing exciting. Nothing to really get your teeth into.

    • boweryboy

      Spot on perfect analogy.

  • Kbear

That’s his jacket – and his little brothers pants. Not that I mind the view, but y-all are right. Time & place, time & place…..

  • Lucas

I don’t mind the bulge, I kinda like it. I’d say they might be a “skosh” too short, though, haha. A wee bit. A tad, even. LOL.
Altogether pretty well-done though! But I hate that light blue button-down shirt, if we’re nitpicking. It reminds me of one I used to own when I was waiting tables. Hate it!

  • boweryboy

The pants are a little tight and maybe perhaps a bit highwater as well, but I’m not seeing the bulge…

  • CatherineRhodes

You say “too much bulge” as if that’s a bad thing. Those pants fit just right.

  • anotherkate

My thoughts upon scrolling: Suit’s a little small. Oh my god, don’t lean! That is ridiculous. Nice tie, though. Seriously, the lean is so stupid. Cute face, why neckbeard? Whoa, bulge.

  • barbarienne

I don’t know why he bothers putting on clothes at all.

    • demidaemon

      I SO agree with you.

  • marlie

He’s on his way to meet Leo for a working lunch.

  • Glam Dixie

I can’t like this for the simple reason that his head looks like a brillo pad.

  • another_laura

Yeah, muscular thighs are hard to get into a suit – *sigh* Takes great tailoring. Which this hasn’t, I’m sorry to say. Cute, though.

  • random_poster

The lighting in this photo booth is not flattering. Scrolling down, my first thought is he looks better in the promo pictures for his show without a shirt. I even thought that after I noticed the bulge in these shots, which does NOT need better lighting.

  • Nika E

I really want to like this…

  • PastryGoddess

I’m just imagining him with no shirt on.

  • Tracey Magyar

I think he may be requesting a $5 foot long from Subway in that first photo.

  • KT

You only specified that queens needed to settle down, not lady boner owners.

  • stephbellard

He’s the kinda guy you swallow.

  • Trickytrisha

I can’t ever see his name as anything but Stephen Smell. Cute boy, a bit too scruffy.

  • I’m all about makeup on a pretty boy, but are his eyes noticeably, oddly shadowed?

  • Imasewsure

These are refreshingly cute photos but… hate the hair…. hate the facial hair… bored by the suit

  • Shawn EH

He’s wearing underwear, so it’s okay.

  • lalahartma

    His hair looks funny.

  • LeelaST

Too small suit, porcupine grow-out and scraggly neck beard are distracting from the pretty.

  • ShaoLinKitten

OMG all I could see was the bulge… I enjoy that as much as the next guy or gal, but this was so awkward that it seems like I could see veins. Ugh. Then I noticed the spiky former crew cut. It’s a shame, because he is cute as hell.

  • ailujailuj

why does his lapel look bubbling? like the fusing is all melty or has detached?

  • That tie makes me really sad. Lovely blues in the suit and shirt, and he picks an industrial steel grey tie? Pfft. It’s so distractingly clashing it makes me mad. Forest green tie to remind people who you are and why you’re here. Bam. Easy.

  • demidaemon

I’m not saying no to the bulge, though I understand TLo’s complaint. Of course, I would prefer him with no clothes, but that’s probably just me.
