Man, that doesn’t even look good on the model. It’s WAY too heavy and looks like it’s going to drag her down to the ground. It does nothing for her figure and I hate the shoes. This is a BIG miss to my eye. It’s a shame too, cuz Naomie can wear some clothes.

  • Evan

Love it, though not crazy about the hair or the shoes. Though anything is better than the shoes on the model. The dress reminds me of something McQueen would design for some reason. I think it’s the interesting textures.

  • boweryboy

No. It could work if the texture was limited to the bodice of an evening gown. As it is, she looks like she’s being eaten alive by a fungus.

    • Evan

Haha I’m a sucker for texture, so I love it.

      • demidaemon

I love texture too, but it has to be the right kind of texture. When it looks like embellished texture, I have to reevaluate it. here, my reevaluation didn’t make me like it any more.

    • AnneElliot

What’s with the fungi dresses lately? Sandra Bullock last week, and now Naomi? And it looks like the model is wearing a visor made out of tinfoil. Bizarre.

      • demidaemon

To be fair, Sandra’s was limited to only the neckline. This is all over body fungus.

  • EveEve

Wedding cake decorations do not an attractive dress make.

  • Malibufire

    Toilet paper flowers

  • OMM4

Oh man, what is going on with her hair? She usually knocks it out of the park, but the strange layers are super distracting.

    • Glam Dixie

It looks like some really crappy extensions or something. It’s bad.

    • kimmeister

That hair would have been stylin’ in Japan like 5 years ago.

  • Just Me

SHE looks lovely. That dress on the other hand…

  • AmeliaEve

She looks a lot better than the model, but I don’t think that’s enough here.

    • demidaemon

      Damning with faint praise.

  • decormaven

That is a lot of embellishment for one dress. The black shoes just seem to weight it down even further. Too bad- she’s definitely had better looks.

  • teensmom99

I think she might have entered Cate territory-in other words, don’t try this at home. I think she’s just one bad wig away from making this work.

  • It’s her, so it’s beautiful but the dress itself… have you ever google imaged “smallpox”?

    • Evan

I’ll have to google it lol But it works for me because of the contrast with her skin. If she were fair-skinned, this would definitely look like a skin disease.

  • MilaXX

Love the dress, not sold on the shoes, wish the hair was in hanging down her back instead of in hair sheets in the front.

    • Evan

      Same thoughts as me!

  • Pennymac

That over-embellishment leans me towards all sorts of skin disease snarks. Too much.

  • Fred Vaughn

Ignore the tumors, and the outfit isn’t bad.

  • LaSylphide

  • butterflysunita

She looks great, despite the fact that her dress looks like a crumpled Kleenex.

  • Glam Dixie

Don’t like the hair, don’t like the fungus dress and don’t like the shoes. Face looks good, but that’s it. A swing and a miss!

  • In_Stitches

Is she wearing a sculpture of grapes and leaves…or romanesco?

    • filmcricket

That’s where my mind went too. This whole thing is a big miss, to me.

    • kimmeister

Holy smokes, I just googled romanesco. That stuff is wild!

  • Anna_Cecilia

It’s an improvement on the runway version, I guess, and she is lovely. Hair looks odd. Idris, come on out here and help Naomie out!
When in doubt, always accessorize with Idris.

  • shelley514

Her make-up is perfection and she has the perfect complexion to rock white. But that dress doesn’t photograph well. I’m thinking it looks much better in person. Her hair extensions are a TRA-GE-DY. She’s a gorgeous woman on her – can’t hate.

  • quiltrx

I like the idea but NOT the execution. I love the thought of a dress that rather looks like a wedding cake…but the embellishments used seem too heavy, like they’re weighing down and obscuring any shape the dress might have had.

    • Aurumgirl

Because they are! All the fooferaw all literally pulling down the fabric they’re stuck to.

  • Trickytrisha

The dress is a mistake, the hair is a mistake, the rest of her is a glory of good genes and good sense. Wish she’d use some of that good sense with her hair.

  • Qitkat

Well, she is certainly wearing it so much better than the model. But this dress has a creepy vibe to it somehow, even though I suspect it is beautifully made up close, in person. She looks fab in white.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Well, dear. The hair is tragic. The dress and all that flocking (or clusters or whatever the heck that is) makes her look like a block of snow from chin to mid-thigh. And the shoes are even more tragic than the hair. They make her look like she has exactly one toe. I think the shape of the dress may be exacerbated by the pee pee pose. Maybe without the leg crossover thing, she would look like she has a shape.

  • ailujailuj

I am suddenly hungry for wedding cake.

  • Tricia

Surprisingly, I really love this. I normally dislike white dresses, but she’s rockin it. And her makeup is great. So beautiful!

  • lifeisastory

That looks like a perfectly nice dress – with white fungus growing on it.

  • Daisy Walker

Who thought a dress covered in spitballs was a good idea?

  • Cassidy Olsen

I’m actually sold on the geometric textured aspect of the dress, it’s her hair I have an issue with.

  • French_Swede

No. Hair is bad, makeup is blah and the dress does *nothing* for this stunning woman.

  • I think she looks decent in a dress that looks pretty much unworkable. Not loving the hair, tho.

  • Jaeda Laurez

Whoever has been doing her makeup has been doing a lovely job. But I don’t understand this trend where it looks like they put the tracks in your head, snip off the ends, and don’t bump/style them at all- you pay all that money, finish the look. The dress reminds me of milk glass, but I’m going against the grain and saying i like the texture- it’s interesting, but because it’s all white, I don’t feel like it’s too much at all- it kind of blends in. She definitely looks better than the model in it.

  • LJCdoc

I think she looks pretty good, but I suspect at least some of that is that she’s benefiting from comparison to the model, who looks like sh*t.

  • jw_ny

I like the texture (shows best on the model), but I don’t think it works with the shape of the bodice….all too bulky. Those sleeves look like she as a long sleeved t-shirt beneath. I’m digging the shoes with this outfit. And, like many others have mentioned, the hair is a disaster!

  • guest2visits

I like this version of the dress so much better, and she looks beautiful in it. Love the texture; this could even be a nifty bridal dress.

  • luluransom

Well, I applaud her for trying. I think??

  • BrianaJC

barnacle dress & very, very bad shaggy hair….all around NO

  • ThesisMonkey

I like the dress, but I wish it weren’t bridal-white. that hair, though.

  • marlie

It pains me to say this, because I do love Naomie’s style, but this isn’t doing it for me. It’s just weird. The top is strangely baggy, and all those beads/embellishments are sort of overwhelming. The shoes are too fussy for an already fussy look, and her hair isn’t thrilling me, either. BUT… her makeup would be perfect if she had color on her lips.

  • UsedtobeEP

    Popcorn ceiling.

  • Really glad we got the edited version of this, but I can’t quite put my finger on why it’s still not working.

    • demidaemon

Because. even edited, this look is still ugly.

  • Vtg Fashion Library

  • nannypoo

The model looks like a leftover from the Miss Universe posts, although I have no idea what country she might be representing, so to say that Naomie looks better than the model is really not necessary here.

  • Nancer

    Hideous dress. Shower curtains perhaps?

  • Synnamin

I think I made a painting like that once, covered in masticated paper pulp and plaster

    • guest2visits

Sounds like a fantastic idea actually.

  • demidaemon

She’s beautiful, and kudos on the head styling. But I just don’t like this dress all that much. The texture is weird and it seems too short on her. Also: kudos to her stylist on the editing of the original look, even though what’s left isn’t all that great either.
