Lupita’s been giving us so much style to talk about that she gets the rare and highly coveted T Lo TRIPLE Shot treatment. Which sounds a little dirty once we typed it out.
Lupita Nyong’o attends DuJour Magazine Cover Party in a Mary Katrantzou dress paired with a Sophia Webster clutch, Paul Andrew pumps, a Jamie Wolf ring, and Dana Rebecca Designs earrings.
WERQ. Bow down, bitches. You’re hearing a dress sing. We should’ve known she’d be a perfect fit for the Katrantzou brand. They should give her a contract.
We’re not entirely on board with the shoes, though. Once again.
Lupita Nyong’o attends the 2014 AFI Awards Luncheon in a Carolina Herrera dress paired with Manolo Blahnik pumps and Jamie Wolf jewelry.
Gorgeous once again. That’s a beautiful dress and fabric. Carolina Herrera should give her a contract. And as always, we find ourselves actively disliking the shoes. In this case, they’re really distracting. Whoever’s responsible for her style really knows how to pick clothes for her, but in our opinion, doesn’t quite know how to accessorize her.
And just as we found ourselves wondering if she gets a little tired of wearing bright prints…
Lupita Nyong’o attends the W Magazine celebration of The ‘Best Performances’ Portfolio and The Golden Globes in a Proenza Schouler dress paired with Jennifer Meyer and EF Collection jewelry and a Proenza Schouler clutch and shoes.
The coat’s fine and all, but the real showpiece here is the dress, of course.
We think sometimes we and quite a few people in the style world default to the idea that dark-skinned women should wear bright and bold colors all the time. While it’s true that those colors look great on them, we think it tends to shoo such women away from wearing black, which is a timeless and universal standard chic color. We think this dress is a really fabulous way for her to turn the LBD on its head. Once again, she’s making an outfit work in a way that many other wearers couldn’t manage. Proenza Schouler should give her a contract.
