La La Anthony on “Good Morning America”

Posted on January 29, 2014

Miss Lala may be mixing one too many prints for our liking here…

La La Anthony at ABC Studios in New York City for an appearance on “Good Morning America” to promote her new book, “The Love Playbook.”

But who cares? She looks fabulous. Love the shoes.  She needs a fabulous hat and pair of gloves to finish the look off, but she probably didn’t want to mess with her hair or the manicure she’s apparently very proud of at the moment.  Still, it’s workable, real-world chic. Sometimes we love the cold weather just for giving us so many opportunities to show that kind of style off. Once you’re in the polar vortex, you start getting a little more real about what you’re willing to wear in public.

Yes, yes, coat porn, cute shoes, but THE NAILS ASDFGHJKL

      • KateShouldBeWorking

        Serving 80′s prom queen realness.

      • Sobaika

I don’t get the trend… Lee Press-On Talons are not a good look

      • sagecreek

I also hate the foot tattoos, although I have learned that I am not supposed to say that on T-LO.

        • Coolekat

          That’s the damned truth!

        • tereliz

I’m usually a tattoo apologist, but biceps tattoos on women, and ones that are supposed to look like an anklet with a dangling pendant don’t always look so hot when you’re trying to wear a sleeveless dress or sexy shoes.

The fake nails make her fingers look deformed from arthritis.

        • quiltrx

They do totally look like what are called Swan-Neck Deformities. Not a good look if you ask me.

    • MilaXX

The shoes, while fabulous, may be one step too far.

      • jen_vasm

Miss Lala always swims in the one step too far end of the pool.

I adore a good red coat. I’d take this one.

    • ailujailuj

      L H U H U U V the shoes.

    • Shawn EH

How many scarves is she wearing?

      • kimmeister

I cannot reconcile it being cold enough to want two scarves, and yet skip all forms of hosiery.

        • quiltrx

This is what I don’t get, either. Of course I don’t get her being famous for being married to someone famous, other than that she forced herself onto the American public. So there are a lot of things I don’t get about her. :)

          • sekushinonyanko

She was an MTV vj before she married someone famous.

            • marlie

              MTV still has VJs?

            • sekushinonyanko

              I said was…

            • quiltrx

And that is why I commented that it was *back when* they still showed videos.

      • RawrArgh

I suspect it’s a scarf Zara was selling this winter. It was black and white dogstooth on one side and tartan on the other. I loved it so much.

        • Shawn EH

Ah, well that makes more sense. Huge scarves are very helpful this winter!

        • decormaven

Ooh, I’d love to have that scarf. Great idea!

        • littlemac8

I like the scarf but I think she needs a scarf tying tutorial to make this think look a little more pulled together!

    • Rand Ortega

Just had a stroke from all of those patterns.

      • Sarah

Is it two scarves or one scarf with two patterns? Confused eyes are not figuring this out.

        • Rand Ortega

I don’t… call an ambulance! lol

        • Bridget Smith

I think it’s black & white plaid on one side, and red and blue on the other. I also believe it’s Zara – I almost bought one similar!

    • Anna

My feet are vicariously cold for her. I have two pairs of socks on and mine are still freezing. Love the coat and the scarf must be mine.

      • Lori

I wore tights & heavy socks inside boots when I went out today. Those shoes + this weather = Girl, you are nuts.

        • Anna

To be fair if I was being chauffeured around, I’d probably do it too just so I can wear my pretty shoes. They never get to play anymore.

        • marlie

I wore tights under my corduroys today. AND wool socks. That’s a rarity for me.

      • conniemd

Seriously, it has been so cold that I’ve been wearing knee highs with socks under my pants and boots and my toes still have felt cold. The other day I couldn’t find any clean socks so I just went with the knee highs and my toes were frozen by the time I walked to my car (about 15 feet from my back door.

        • Anna

I have no shame anymore, I’ve started using my balaclava. When NOT running.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Is her scarf double sided or is she wearing two of them? Cute booties would have been a better choice for her feet I think.

      • mjude

I say 2 scarves. I actually had to that because its so damn cold. I must be on trendy darhlink!

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I bet you were sensibly wearing socks though.

          • mjude

            2 pairs! LOL

        • Erica_Vuitton

I was thinking maybe one was an inside light weight scarf and one was the outer heavier scarf. I do that sometimes. Especially because its wicked cold up here even at work.

    • Hetha Innis

The whole Polar Vortex thing was so annoying until T and Lo started incorporating it into their commentary. Now I kind of love it.

    • Glam Dixie

I’m having a spell just looking at it.

    • sagecreek

I actually like the mix until I get to the shoes. That’s a bridge too far.

      • Tracy_Flick

I agree. I think killer boots were called for.

    • twigg

      Is she wearing two scarves?

    • Tracy_Flick

THAT is my coat, right there. Best of the day, in my opinion.

    • Kim Elmore

      Who?

      • Glam Dixie

I know, you and me both. No clue.

      • Rand Ortega

BBall Player’s (Carmelo Anthony) wife. Has a reality show. Has parlayed a certain type of celebrity into a slight acting career.

        • Kim Elmore

          Thx :)

        • Erica_Vuitton

UM I’d like to add she was a MTV VJ for 10 years prior to just being “someone BB’s players wife”. She also owns her own cosmetics line for women. Your comment is pretty degrading.

          • Rand Ortega

            Please enlighten me how.

            • Jacob Bowen

I am just guessing because it seems that you insinuated that she used her marriage to get a career.

            • Evan

I don’t think you meant to be degrading, but referring to a woman as somebody’s wife implies that she hasn’t done anything notable or worthwhile on her own. It would be the same thing if we referred to a man as somebody’s husband, but you never hear that in a public sense, whereas you hear it all the time with athletes’ wives and the wives of presidential candidates, etc. On that note though, I didn’t even know who she was.

          • quiltrx

I didn’t realize she had been a VJ..I guess that was when MTV still showed videos, and people still watched MTV!
And I appreciate the premise of her cosmetics line…but I’m not going to pretend I believe she would have gotten funding to start it without being ‘Lo’s wife.

    • Blair Sylvester

I think those shoes are terrible particularly with this outfit. Call me crazy but I would not wear shoes that open in this weather. I think a pair of black or gray bootie would have been perfect

    • MissusBee

Walk of shame: hiding the goods under an emergency purchase from the Edinburgh Woolen Mill. Been there.

    • crash1212

Great coat. Hate the shoes – with or without this outfit.

    • LeelaST

I like every single element of this (separately) except those shoes – YIKES!

    • butterflysunita

I don’t know who you are, Miss La La, but you have a fabulous coat.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Only one quibble-wouldn’t a pair of really fabulous boots have worked better with this ensemble?

    • marlie

The shoes are the one thing about the look that don’t work for me. The rest is cute and weather-appropriate.

    • http://victoriapavlova.com Victoria Pavlova

      The nails, THE NAILS!

    • carnush

That coat is to die! Love her smile.

    • Kelly

I’m sorry, but it’s been about 20 degrees F in NY for the past week. No matter what the fashion, or how little time you’re actually outside — wearing bare feet in those temps is not “getting real” about the weather. It’s plain foolishness. And she’s not the first bare-legged and/or barefooted winter wonder who has been featured here. To me, this trend doesn’t make people look fashionable; it just makes them look willfully stupid.

    • Lilyana_F

Killer coat! And I literally have a thousand questions regarding the bathroom logistics of having nails like that…

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

i think we can all agree that those nails are nothing to be proud of. i love the look except the shoes, which are adorable on their own. it’s not the mix of prints, love that, but it’s the color. that blue is just not speaking to anything else in the outfit.

    • Bethany Fairbrother

Hate to say this but who the “Efff” is LaLa Anthony and why should I care? At the very least, to quote Tim Gunn, “I question her taste level”.”
