Katy Perry in Valentino Couture at the 2014 Grammy Awards

Posted on January 27, 2014

Everyone on the E! red carpet pre-show was weeping over this look and to be honest, we have no idea why.

Katy Perry attends the 2014 Grammy Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California in a Valentino couture gown.

Valentino Spring 2014 Couture Collection

It’s just plain awkward. Her boobs are two scoops, the sheer is shirred (say that 5x)  and ruched kind of randomly, and in ways that don’t exactly flatter (her whole torso looks broader than it is), and the waist of the skirt sits too high on her, making it balloon out way more than it does on the model. It just comes off like a pile of netting in a vaguely dress-like shape. The music notes are a nice touch for the Grammys, but that’s about the only part we like.

And that hair wreath is AWFUL.

Makeup looks great, though. We’re trying to end on a positive note. How did we do?

I like it, I like that the inner corselette is on show. But I’m a sucker for visible structure. But I’m going to predictable and say the waist needs more definition.

    • decormaven

Another vote for more definition in the waist- perhaps a thin black belt? The dress color is so light, and her hair is so dark- especially in the “hair wreath” (inspired word choice, Uncles!)- I think a black belt would help the juxtaposition between the two.

  • oklund

It’s all big and froofy and dramatic, and Katy Perry looks like a cartoon character = mission accomplished?

    • Spreecord

I can’t help but feel that Katy Perry must be incredibly fatigued from the search to find something ridiculous that neither she nor Lady Gaga have already worn.

  • kayleymaybe

This does nothing for her! I understand that this look is custom-tailored for the Grammys, but not a great color or shape.

    • KiP07

I almost thought that maybe the problem is that Katy has bigger boobs than the fit model so that is why the waist sits higher than the runway version, but then I realized that would be stupid considering it is likely a 30,000 gown that her stylist should have had tailored for her.

  • gsk241

I want the earrings. She can keep the rest.

  • raeb23

love the idea of the skirt but wish there was a little less extraneous fabric, hate the bodice & the hanging fabric at the end of her sleeves

  • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

I’d be OK with a dress with musical notes on it. It’s a little on the nose, as they say, and my respect for the idea would increase in direct relation to what the music on the dress actually is (I”m afraid I suspect it’s random passages from random bits of music). But this is dress is just ugly, for all the reasons mentioned.

    • Tessa Pekeles

I’m pretty sure it is supposed to be La Traviata by Verdi

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

OK, that’s acceptable, if a little odd for the Grammys, given the plot of La Traviata.

        • Saturnine

What opera *would* work for the Grammys, plot-wise?

          • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

Götterdämmerung, I say only partially tongue-in-cheek.

          • Saturnine

Ha! I was hoping you’d say that!

ETA: I only watched in bits and pieces and fell asleep, so I would say Wagner is spot on.

          • MoHub

Maybe Bohéme. Or Orphée aux Enfers.

      • MoHub

The entire opera? I’ must admit, I’m having trouble reading the music because of the gathering, and it’s making me nuts.

    • Sobaika

I just appreciate the irony ok Katy Perry in relation to musical notes.

      • Jacob Bowen

THANK YOU! My thoughts were, “If she can read those notes she can MAYBE wear the fabric!”

    • conniemd

I remember this dress from that awful Valentino collection a week or so ago. I guess Katy Perry wearing it was way predictable.

  • Sam Smith

It is a fun idea for the event, but the overall look comes off as messy and cheap in my opinion.

  • KayEmWhy

I liked it. The dress has a touch of whimsy with a nod to music and a more grown up style from those cartoon looks she donned in the past.

  • Carly Clement

I actually love this look! I was hoping to see it at the Grammy’s, even though I thought it would come off as cliche, but somehow when I saw Katy wear it I gasped! I think the hair is too severe but anything too soft and romantic might be too much…. and I love the jewellery! And in a sea of OTT sequin and slutty dresses I think this was a nice addition to the red carpet! Def in my best dressed list!

    • sweetestsith

I liked it too. I’m not on board with the hair, but I think the dress looks better on her that it should. The makeup is gorgeous too.

    • bizarro

I agree. I thought it was perfect for the night. She looks like a fancy pop star princess.

    • manina

I think she looks like the perfect Music Fairy, always beautiful and fabulous.

  • http://urban-gypsy.com/ Tess Danesi

I called Katy Perry at the Grammys in my head when I saw this in the Valentino collection. In my head, it looked much better. The skirt is cool, which is the work of the fabric at the right venue, but the top is plain awkward. Her hair, good god, NO.

    • Ginger

That hair is pure Selena. (Not exactly a compliment)

  • Dunc

    Project Runway shower curtain challenge.

  • JasmineAM

Hate it! Her sleeves look tight and uncomfortable. Her performance last night was just as awful as this dress.

In other related Grammy news, I totally fangirled over Daft Punk winning everything. No shame.

    • Anna

      Re: Daft Punk, me too!!!

    • SugarSnap108

I third you on the Daft Punk.

    • http://www.snoskred.org/ Snoskred

Their shoes are AWESOME I need to know where to get me some sparkly Daft Punk shoes. :)

    • demidaemon

I’ve listened to three of the albums that were up for best album, and, as a whole, I thought theirs was the weakest. “Get Lucky” is an awesome song, yes, but, as a whole, not the best compilation of work. Is it the most innovative and “new?” Yes.

I was just glad to see that Ms. Kathy finally won for Best Comedy Album.

    • fursa_saida

Daft Punk and Lorde were the ones I was rooting for pretty much every time they were nominated.

  • Becky Deitrich

The way it’s all put together and fit issues just make me think Katy Perry was hanging out at home and suddenly realized the Grammys were that day. Assistant grabs musical shower curtain, someone grabs some tulle and bam! Dress done in the nick of time.
But the hair. Ohhhh the hair.

  • marlie

Her makeup is great, and I love her earrings and rings. This was disappointing, because if ANYONE should have been able to pull this dress off, it was Katy Perry. I don’t hate it on her, but she missed the mark a little.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Well, lets just get this out of the way, shall we? This is a dress that should have stayed a notion, and never seen fruition.

    • MilaXX

Or as a runway look only

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I can just barely justify it in my head as a runway look that is meant, not really to be made or worn, but merely as an attention grabber for a presentation. That said, its an essentially flawed design. The fit, even on the model, looks awkward. it is surely not something the Maestro would’ve let go out.

        • formerlyAnon

Agree on all counts. Even on the runway it edges over into gimmicky.

    • another_laura

Am I too cynical or was he trying (way too hard) to get onto the Grammys red carpet? Such an Academy Awards kind of guy.

    • TAGinMO

While there are plenty of issues with this dress, I’m most irritated by how unimaginatively the musical notes were used. So much potential there for subtle accents, pattern-mixing, accentuating lines of a skirt or bodice…and they’re just slapped up there like a piece of sheet music. Ugh.

  • Anna

When i first saw this dress I’d thought that my favourite Fairy Princess of Twee, Taylor Swift, might wear it. Equally amused that my favourite vapid cartoon character/wig stand took a shot at it. I think I prefer her in something more Jem and The Holograms, this one washes her out.

    • demidaemon

She needs color on her, always!

      • Anna

Her performance outfit was more of the Katy Perry quality I’ve come to expect. Brooms were hilarious, I laughed my ass off when I checked Lainey Gossip and she’d said it would’ve been a lot better if she played a game of Quidditch, my thoughts exactly when I saw the performance.

  • Jessica Freeman

The improvements on this dress is entirely too long to list on a Mon-duh morning. Nothing to fawn over here except maybe her face, which is stunning.

  • DeniseSchipani

I have an empathetic ponytail headache.

  • ChaquitaPhilly

I’m very curious about the Music print. It doesn’t look random. Does anybody know the score?

    • Tessa Pekeles

It is supposed to be La Traviata by Verdi

      • ChaquitaPhilly

Well, a bit of it, anyway. Makes an interesting statement, once you know that!

  • SugarSnap108

I really like the idea of this dress – on her, at this event. But yeah, it comes off as poorly constructed – and dare I say cheap – for what has to be an insanely expensive gown. The hair is, indeed, awful.

  • Tracy M

Kind of “meh” on the whole thing- except visceral, irrational loathing for the little wing-thingies on her shoulders. Give me some scissors!

  • Saturnine

I think she pulls things off that really shouldn’t work because her head always looks flawless, if that makes any sense. Lovely face and earrings; dress is Grammy Barbie.

    • estella_nyc

Grammy Barbie is a great name for this look.

  • MilaXX

It was a’ight, but not like she invented sliced bread or cold fusion. I like the hair/makeup, but completely agree on the high waisted/ballooning issue. Once again this is a look that does not benefit from being worn by a person with large boobs.

  • Carrie

I wasn’t even that impressed with the music notes, seemed a bit too on the nose for the occasion. I honestly didn’t care for it at all.

  • xmixiex

I kinda love it- on Katy perry. I do wish the skirt was less sheer.

    • carnush

Me too. It’s showstopping and Grammy appropriate.

  • SewingSiren

I was pretty sure that someone would wear this dress to the Grammy’s, Katy was a good choice. I don’t mind the fit of the skirt, but the bodice is too small in the bust. Which defeats the purpose of having a couture gown, But mostly I like.

  • Miss wks

Her challah hair is makin’ me hungry…

  • @Biting Panda

“But it has musical notes!!” Said some stylist, somewhere.

  • Lesley

i’m okay with dress, i get it – it’s very katy perry – whimsy and fun however, i cannot get behind that hair. it’s AWFULLLL

  • Sarah

Pale dress is pale. Her face is gorgeous, and I love her earrings. I think she should stick to bright or jewel colors – off-white is not really her friend.

  • Darcy H

Honestly, this seems like the perfect “Katy Perry is a pretty princess at the Grammy Awards” dress. Problematic, yes. But very much her.

  • Diego!

I think I like everything here and have no complaints at all. I even like the hair! It’s the Grammys and she is a music star, so let’s not get confused with the Oscars’ RC. I approve. Make up is FLAWLESS!

  • Tatiana Luján

I like the dress and love the makeup. The hair is definitely awful.

  • StelledelMare

I enjoy the music notes (and the shimmer around them) because I love just about anything with musical notes on it. However, I hate basically everything else.

  • filmcricket

I knew someone would wear this to the Grammys, and I should have guessed it would be Katy. I wish they’d lined it with something in a colour.

  • Mrs. Julien

Wouldn’t all that tulle be incredibly scratchy?

  • Anglow

I love the dress and despite the hair thing I think she looks gorgous.

  • Anglow

    I mean gorgeous.

  • jw_ny

I’m on the side of liking this look. for Katy. I’d like to see a more defined waist tho, and am not liking her hair. But, overall it’s fun, bold, and appropriate, for her, at the Grammys.

  • jonnyf8

It reminds me of that awful dress that the Gay Husband did on Project Runway a while back. Like did someone write a lovesong to someone on that dress and think it was fashion when it was just downright tacky.

    • demidaemon

Didn’t the judges praise that dress? If we are making comparisons for undue praise, then I totally agree with you.

      • jonnyf8

I think they felt like they had to because it was before he started playing the Gay Husband card every week. Remember when his mum died and then it became clear that it wasn’t really his mum. He was just icky and really a mediocre designer.

  • Heather

    Um, she’s got great brows?

  • GorgeousThings

Zerbinetta goes to the Grammys, wearing Verdi. Strauss is not pleased.

    • MoHub

      Brava!

  • Jaeda Laurez

From the waist up, I love it, from the waist down, I can’t. I don’t know what would make it better on the bottom, just know that those notes weren’t it. And I actually love the hair and makeup- let those eyes and smoove forehead have their day.

    • Gatto Nero

      Right. Nix the notes.

  • PeaceBang

V’issi d’arte. V’issi d’ Tom and Lorenzo’s write-up of this frothy little frock. I thought it was inoffensive enough, but the enormous challah head really didn’t work. The true moment of head-smacking dismay happened later during her Kate Bush-Meets-AHS “Coven number. That costume was godawful.

  • Judy_S

I love it. She can afford to have her torso look wider than it might. She looks gorgeous and the dress looks good against the background, too.

  • mariahwg

Most boring dress of an otherwise amazing collection. She could have worn almost anything else from it and looked amazing.

  • leftcoastpickle

It looks like a shower curtain.

  • VicksieDo

    I disagree, it’s gorgeous. Period.

  • alyce1213

Not with you at all on this. I love it on her. This is a Katy Perry Dress if there ever was one. Her makeup is also lovely.
    Scoops?

  • lobsterlen

Yes its a little on the nose but its katy perry at the Grammy’s. She looks lovely. I even love the hair with the gown. Then you compare her to all the other ladies and its really not even close especially Bey, who looked horrible.

  • crash1212

Perfect dress deployment for the venue. When I saw that in the collection, I wondered where somebody could wear that. Now we know. I think she looks lovely and it’s precisely because it’s a pile of netting, artfully deployed with musical notes. Looks better on her than on the model.

  • cocohall

Someone (Katy P) fell in love with the idea of this dress and then refused to see once she put it on, that from color to shape to fit, it did her no favors. I wanted to like the dress because it has some whimsy to it that does make you think of Miss Katy and the Grammys. But if this dress was going to work on anyone (big question mark there) it would have to be someone with very few curves. Taylor Swift or even Guiliana Rancic (although I doubt Valentino would put her in their dress) would have had a better shot at this.

    • demidaemon

Guiliana’s skin tone would be perfect with this dress. It doesn’t work on the pale ones, in my opinion. Therefore, Swifty would be out as well, though her figure is more appropriate for the dress.

  • Adrianna Grężak

I like this because it looks incredibly polished

  • DaveUWSNYC

    Bundt cake hair

  • Danielle

Hubby and I had a long conversation about her possibly being pregnant last night. Started with this nightmare and ended with her lackluster performance.

  • Lilithcat

I think it’s rather fun, though the skirt should be lined all the way down. (I really loathe short linings/skirts under long sheer skirts.)

    The hair is really bad.

  • Ginny Ellsworth

She looks like Euterpe. This is Barbie’s version with the challah loaf on her head and the Kleenex dress.

  • Garcia Loca

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the skirt. I’d take the skirt, extend the non sheer under-layer all the way to the bottom, and pair with a simple black ballerina-type top.

  • Scott Cooper

Sort of obvious and strangely aging. If you squint you could almost mistake her for ’90′s Madonna.

    • VCR1

I agree. I think this dress ages her too. Can’t figure out how, maybe the color plus the hair.

  • Bethany Mavronicles

I think this is stunning. All of it. Even her donut head. Her body looks slammin’. I live in Chicago, where it is currently -9. And I agree with E! commentators. Hell? Freezing over? Perhaps.

    • MaryMitch

I agree – she looks amazing!

  • bhl_1123

I think E! was oohing and aahing over it because it was their prediction for her Grammy dress and they didn’t want to say “yeah, this is what we wanted her to wear, and it looks horrible”. I like the skirt, but the whole top half (including hair, excluding makeup) is unflattering and washes her out.

  • boweryboy

I was all, “Oh. She wore the Valentino dress. What the hell is that on her head!?” I kept staring at this when she was being interviewed because I really wanted to like it on her. I like the idea of it, but somehow it misses the mark. Plus, it washes her out completely.

  • BitterOldQueen

The hair looks sort of prommy to me, and the top is awful and the color and her make up make her sort of disappear into the ether. But the pattern is just waaaay too on-point for the Grammys. Why not stick a grammophone horn on her head and complete the themey theme?

  • Melanie

totally agree with everything you said. i do think that her makeup here is the best i’ve ever seen it, it really showcases her beautiful eyes.

  • Anz

The sheer sleeve is horrifyingly unnecessary and gives me a webbed armpit vibe at some angles, not to mention makes even this very slim woman’s arm look like an encased kielbasa.

  • formerlyAnon

The dress looked gimmicky and not-pretty-enough to compensate for that on the runway, and not any better here. Her face IS great.

  • murt

I really liked this – I thought it looked beautiful, even with the hair.

  • MK03

“Everyone on the E! red carpet pre-show was weeping over this look and to be honest, we have no idea why.”

Because everyone at E! is a blithering idiot?

    • demidaemon

Not everyone. Just 90% of their employese and 100% of those who do the red carpet pre-shows. I mean, they have Ryan Seacrest there. I think that says everything.

  • Judy_J

Mozart is calling….he wants his transcripts back.

  • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

The only thing that makes this work for me, is that Katy always seems to have a sense of humor in her styling, so it’s not like I think she’s taking this dress too seriously. Whereas, if, say, Taylor Swift wore this dress, I’d think she looked ridiculous, because I’d feel like she was trying to say, “I love music so much, I wear it.

  • AnotherJulie

Music-themed dress to the Grammy’s is a fun idea I suppose, but this particular dress is not flattering. But she is adorable and her makeup is amazing.

  • http://www.lifeinspice.com/ rose88

I’m not crazy about the dress, but I have to disagree with your critique of her hair ’cause I think she’s serving some serious Elizabeth Taylor realness with that ‘do and I’m loving it!

  • Sabin

I read “weeping” and thought they hated it, and that TLo disagreed. Since I just crawled out of bed to get kids going, I chalk that up to weekend sick in bed brain. But then read the comments, and many BKs really liked it, and am confused again. I saw the picture last night and thought how ugly it looked, no question. Proportions wrong (KP thick through the middle?!), miasma-grey sucking the life out of her face, terrible shape.

But I like the challah hair, so what do I know?

  • unbornfawn

I think they were all dazzled by the music notes. So clever you know.

    • Alloy Jane

Right? ZOMG MUSIC NOTES SO CULTURED!

  • luludexter

Other issues aside, I am so over these sheer skirt dresses with the little mini slips underneath them. Can we move on please?

  • ovarB

If anything, I am most eager to see how the E! crew talks about this dress tonight on their fashion review. They were stumbling over themselves with the praises heaped towards every garment that strode by.

    • Imasewsure

Yes I really miss the bitchy outsider view of these self-important award shows… these guys (even the wonderful Joan Rivers) live too far up Hollywood’s a$$ to be either relevant or interesting most of the time. Luckily Joan is funny…

      • demidaemon

To be fair, I don’t think it would be good for the network if, during the RC, when someone strolled up in a horrid outfit and they went “You know, that dress looks horrid on you.” In Hollywood land, you can talk smack behind the back but never to a person’s face.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Never underestimate the power of the musical notes. People look at them and don’t see anything else.

  • http://www.merradywickes.wordpress.com/ MissWix

I wish her hair was Veronica Lake style. Would’ve softened it up a LOT for me.

  • Gracie82

This is classic KP, It fits her fun personality and she wears what she wants, not what a stylist tells her to. I look forward to seeing her style on red carpets, because her looks are always interesting and fabulous.

  • kimmeister

I’ll be the odd man out and state that I don’t find the waist to be sitting too high on her. She’s just not the same tiny size as the model so it will naturally poof out a little more.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

The Valentino collection was stunning, but I feel she’s playing ballerina. If her hair had gone cray with some untraditional neon lips, this could have rocked so hard.

    • Imasewsure

And combat boots or dominatrix thigh highs. Otherwise it’s just awkward Faerie ballerina sh&t and kind of boring

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOctocornNetwork International Model

        Well said.

  • Ashleigh

    THANK YOU!!

  • Ashleigh

    but….it’s VALENTINOOOOOOOO ! ;)

  • MayzieMay

I love it and I think her hair looks fantastic. She looks Gorg!

  • gksp

More icky illusion netting. Not great.

  • melanie0866

Disagree. I love it. It’s witty and elegant, and she looks beautiful.

    • http://tvblogster.blogspot.com Boop

I absolutely agree w/you. The dress is perfect for the occaisson. Although Katy has grown up with her fashion lately, she still seems to maintain the perfect sense of whimsy in her attire. I think this is lovely on her, very suited for the Grammys.

    • pookiesmom

Agreed 100%. It’s like music cotton candy. Perfect for KP and nobody else. It looks sooo much better on her than the model. I adore this.

  • Janet B

Her makeup and jewelry are beautiful.

  • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

    How fun and frothy!

  • Dagney

    Well I love this.

  • LeelaST

My first and last thought when I saw this “Foundation Garments.” The music motif is too on point. I think this would have looked much cuter on a younger star.

  • Trickytrisha

Don’t quite get the disdain, uncles, about the waist. The waist sits at her actual waist, surely? Sure, the dress is a tad ballerina, but hey… it’s the Grammys. At least it’s not a tad lion and zebra mix.

  • Garcia Loca

I’ve just learned that the print on the skirt is the score to La Traviata — how can you hate on that?

  • Caaro3

    Tinkerbell.

  • Monabel

This idea could have been better executed.

  • Suse

    It’s the Music Fairy!

  • SorayaS

I actually love it, except for the frou-frou on the shoulders. The earrings and makeup are perfect. The hair is the only big misstep- it would have looked better down (and I NEVER say that!!)

  • MissusBee

The dress looks whimsical and high concept on the runway, but everything Katy Perry touches turns to kitsch, like it’s her superpower or something. She is the human air quote.

Put her next to Guernica and The White Album, and the whole of Western culture as we know it could implode overnight.

Agree about the make-up. Since she discovered highlighter and tonal lipsticks the whole effect has been much more youthful and less mask-like.

  • DesertDweller79

I”m with you, TLo. Exactly, actually. Really like her makeup. Like the earrings, too. Love the music notes. Wish it wasn’t sheer, but white instead, as music is printed on white paper, not clear. Sigh. If it was silver or white, and proportioned correctly, I think it could have been really fun.

  • demidaemon

Were they weeping in agony at all the sheer? Because I am.

  • Claudia Berry

The moment I saw this Valentino I wondered if Katy would wear it.

  • Ljubica Isakovic

Katy in all the notes she can’t hit.

    • Alloy Jane

[APPLAUSE] Should I “Roar” in approval?

  • CommentsByKatie

I absolutely adore this in every way. Stunning. I loved it on the runway but I love it even more in the context of Katy.

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

The idea of this dress is better than the reality.

  • bertkeeter

Her styling and hair destroyed any possibility of making this Haute Couture number sing!

  • livesarah

Yeah… if you can get behind Beyonce’s dress, I don’t understand the hate for this one!

    • Alloy Jane

I don’t think they hate it, but srsly, this dress is not remotely figure flattering. Beyonce’s dress was clearly saying “Hi. Get a load of my thigh gap. Oh and this thing? That’s my ass. It’s fabulous.” It was all about the way the pattern lay on her body. Plus they only called it “okay.” This dress is saying, “I can’t read music or use scissors.” My guess is it’s a piano reduction of La traviata, but they really should use 20th Century scores for fashion. I’d like a dress in Metastasis please.

  • yllas

I love the dress. It really stood out. Don’t care for the beige-y cast to it, but where else are you going to see something like this?
I hate. hate. hate. that awful awful awful HAIR. WTF? It’s dated and ugly.

  • carolina

Would Katy Perry even know what opera that music is from?

    • save_the_hobbit

Someone asked her on the red carpet, and yes, she did.

  • Alloy Jane

Hate the hair, make-up is meh. Tulle gone wild? No thank you. Plus she looks like she’s wearing a lamp shade for a slip. Why can’t they make a score dress that doesn’t look silly? Oh well.

  • Tara Gray Burkholder

Wearing a musical note dress at the Grammys makes her that dorky kid in band who always wore a musical note tie everywhere. We get it you’re a musician.

  • Jeff Warhurst

That is an… ugly dress. It’s like an opus to tulle, and I hate it.

  • gorenlj

    beautiful earrings.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Love the hair and l absolutely adore that fabric. Wish it was a little less clumsily ruched, though.

  • save_the_hobbit

It doesn’t look as high-end on her as on the model (she tends to have that effect on dresses), but I thought she looked gorgeous and it was a fun, cheeky look for The Grammy’s!

Agree. It was pretty, it was unique (thanks to the notes) and she wore it well but it wasn’t he bestess thing she’s tried. My complaint is the way the skirt and the waist come together.

Relative to the couch fabric cape and the sparkly disco queen things she also wore, this is not too bad. But I believe that’s called damning with faint praise.

Is she balding on the crown of her head or something? What is with the insistence on pulling her hair back as tight as possible and then elaborately piling it on the top of her head?

Thank goodness TLo stated what many of us felt, but in their perfect way. Watching the RC before the Grammy’s, the 2 dresses I liked the least were Katy’s and Alicia Keys’. In both cases, the dresses made beautiful women look like they had figure flaws. And both were praised to the heavens by all the other fashion analysts.
