Kate Hudson in New York City

Posted on January 29, 2014

Another super-cute bathmat, but very different from Emma’s funky version.

Kate Hudson hurries into the Greenwich Hotel in New York City carrying a M2Malletier ‘La Fleur Du Mal’ bag.

M2Malletier ‘La Fleur Du Mal’ Leather Clutch

Emma’s had a funky college-girl vibe to it, but Kate’s working a Chic n’ Fuzzy look. We’re not a hundred percent behind the textured pants paired with the fuzzy jacket, but we can’t deny this is one hell of a head-turning street look. The booties are gorgeous. The bag is to die for.

Of course it’s ludicrous how uncovered she is in arctic temperatures, but sometimes you just have to pay the price if you want to look chic. We don’t recommend it for anyone other than stars walking ten feet from a limo to a front door, though. Kate Hudson is a trained professional on an enclosed track.

The “Everyone PLEASE get the fuck out of my way I’M FREEZING AND I NEED TO GET INSIDE BEFORE MY EARS FALL OFF” look on her face really sells the chicness.

I want to see a tiny gymnast do a balance beam routine on it.

      • Qitkat

        Well played!

    • Glam Dixie

      Give us the preciousssss

  • hughman

    “Elmo’s Famous”

  • IraKi

I love this look except for the pants. On their own accord they are Fabulous but combined with the jacket and the booties the look comes off a bit heavy looking.

  • sagecreek

Kate is #2 on my Irrational Hate List, but I do love this look. And I want that bag. Now. Give it over now, Kate, and no one gets hurt.

    • Kristin McNamara

Alright I’ll bite. Who takes the top spot?

      • sagecreek

        La Paltrow reigns supreme 🙂

  • @Biting Panda

    Supah fierce!

  • The socks make it. It’s all a little Jagger.

  • Janet B

    Fabulous from head to toe

  • I keep thinking how cold her ungloved hand has to be gripping that metal handle. Still, I’d kill for that bag. She looks fierce.

  • Why no gloves? What is unchic about black leather gloves? If I were her, and I am very close, I would scream at my minions to bring me at least 100 pairs of black leather gloves. They’re on sale for $50 down the street at Lord and Taylor people! Just run in and grab them up! Her hands are weeping.

    • sagecreek

I know! My dear sainted mom, may she rest in peace, had great kid leather gloves in four colors. If she could afford it, Kate Hudson can DEFINITELY afford it.

      • MilaXX

I have Target cheapies. They look cute and keep me warm.

        • Coolekat

I live in Florida. I cannot even image the cold up north.

          • MilaXX

Yesterday my teeth were literally chattering

    • Leah Elzinga

“If I were her, and I am very close” Laughed out loud. For real. Well played.

    • conniemd

I just can’t imagine walking anywhere, even from limo to door in the NE the past week or so without gloves. I couldn’t find them when I got out of my car the other morning after parking at work and ran into a department store and bought gloves and just had the woman cut off the tags and put them right on before I walked the block and a half from the parking garage to work.

      • Beardslee

Yesterday I was near Times Square and amid all the Super Bowl craziness was a young woman wearing a cowboy hat AND A BIKINI strutting across the street. I hope the Broncos were paying her a heap of money for that gig.

  • Sarah

I would like to note that in addition to looking fuzzy-fierce, Ms. Hudson has colors – on her FACE! She also looks like her feet should be registered as lethal weapons.

    • Leah Elzinga

those colours might be due more to the cold instead of makeup, but meh, what can you do.

  • alyce1213

It’s a cute street look but she’s clearly freezing, even in the 10-foot walk from limo to door.
She missed an opportunity to wear a real coat (porn) and gloves. And be warm.

  • Tracy_Flick

I want to love the coat, but my friend has a labradoodle with that exact fur, so it’s creepy me out a little.

  • Funkykatt

I clicked on the link to see the cost of the bag but the lettering on the website is so pale against the white backdrop that I cannot read it. Perhaps the website realizes that I could never afford whatever the cost is or I may faint from the price, hit my head and sue. But she sure looks cute.

    • Erica_Vuitton

No price… you know what that means.

      • Funkykatt

No price..Yeah, it means they know me afterall. Can’t afford.

      • Sue Shea

“if you have to ask, you can’t afford it …” – sheila e. (the glamorous life)

    • 1carmelita

I looked to see where is was available. New York City, Miami and… Columbus Ohio?? That’s a surprise.

    • MilaXX

      It’s best you don’t know

      • Funkykatt

        So true.

    • Courtenay P

It’s on moda operandi for $1,495…yikes.

      • Funkykatt

        That’s over 1.5 x my house payment.

        • filmcricket

It’s only $95 more than my monthly rent. 🙁

      • tereliz

        That’s my house note. Oy.

    • She was crowing to Kelly and Michael that morning about how affordable her new workout line is. As an example, she pointed out that a pair of pants was $50. Kate, honey, maybe in your world a pair of workout pants at $50 is affordable.

  • Erica_Vuitton

That bag looks like a gorgeous lunch box. I want….

  • nannypoo

I am going to own that bag if it’s the last thing I do.

    • Sunraya

Just buy an old lunch box and you will be all set!

  • DesertDweller79

These people are not wearing gloves! Aack! I’m in balmy Phoenix where it is 80 degrees. In this kind of cold weather I would probably be crying. No way I would ever venture outside without gloves.

I like her fuzzy coat though. And the boots.

  • DesertDweller79

Wonder if the handle on that bag is also frozen? Wouldn’t want a metallic handle in an arctic chill.

    • chrissybee

That was my first thought- That handle must be freezing! Of course I live in the midwest, and I have to put my earrings on after I arrive at work so they won’t freeze my earlobes.

    • MilaXX

I’d be okay as long as I had a chic pair of gloves

  • MilaXX

I like :Kate’s better. Seriously covet that bag.

  • SugarSnap108

She looks great. LOVE the boots. But lemme tell you how cold it is here: I wore two pairs of pants; long-sleeved shirt, sweater and sweatshirt under my heavy winter coat; hat, scarf, gloves; two pairs of socks and arctic tundra boots. And I was still cold.

    • ms_bdc

Want the boots! So pretty! I would never actually wear them, certainly not in this weather, but I would gaze upon them adoringly.

    • Adrianna Grężak

This is exactly how I’ve been dressing the past few weeks (in nyc too). I’m still so cold! No idea how these tiny celebrities are doing it

  • Lizzy

The handle of that bag has to be really cold…..

  • Jacob Bowen

That bag looks like a grown up Happy Meal Box….

  • That is the craziest thing I’ve seen this week! It is brutally f-ing cold here! She should fire her stylist for not pulling her a pair of nice leather gloves at least!

  • Molly

the bag makes me angry. I don’t know why! I want the body to slide off the stick and all the stuff to fall out.

  • quiltrx

Yes, the hunched-over Frozen Stance isn’t doing the look any favors…but it’s a great look. I think we would all cut a bitch for that bag. Love the boots too.
Her ex-hubby was (probably still is) fond of Muppet-skin coats, so it wouldn’t surprise me to find she had more of these around.

  • Lesley

almost famous circa 2014. that coat and that bag – i want!!!!

  • nyll18

Also- metal handle in a bare hand in these temperatures = instant frostbite!

  • butterflysunita

It’s way, way too cold here for that outfit–even to walk ten feet from the limo. The guy in the background in the last photo–bundled up in the blue down coat–is staring at her with pity.

  • I’d freeze a little for those booties, but I like to think I’d carry it off better.

  • Jecca2244

she’s not even wearing gloves so she can sell the whole lot. Wow. YOU WIN. and i want that bag.

  • Jackie4g

Girlfriend needs gloves and a hat. It’s in the teens for crying out loud!

  • bellafigura1

The bag sucks. Hate. The rest is fine, although the boots look dated and too Real Housewives for NYC.

  • Hayley

Oh ppl think the teens is cold. So precious.

    • Sunraya

I know. I live way up in New York, and it was 18 below this morning!!!

      • Hayley

Ugh, the worst! I mean I would like the teens to be cold for me. That means we’d have temperatures in the 20s and possibly 30s!

    • filmcricket

Right? It was windchill -30 in Toronto yesterday, and Toronto’s warm compared to most of the country.

      • Anna

I’m looking forward to the tropical -6 on the weekend.

    • conniemd

And NYC at least has tall buildings that cut the wind, too. We had a few days of not making it up to double digits.

  • marlie

This look isn’t thrilling me. Maybe it’s because I didn’t like Emma’s coat, either, but this still looks like a bathmat, and I don’t like her pants either. I love her clutch, though.

  • MannahattaMamma

god her toes must be soooo cold.

  • sockandaphone

well her stylist (or at least her husbands, for sure) is right behind her, so someone put some though into this 🙂

  • Qitkat

The truth of the cold weather lies in the misery projected by the much better covered but still FHAO ordinary woman just behind her.

  • Corsetmaker

I just did a temperature conversion LOL! I can’t think in farenheit! So -8 or so…. a bit brisk. Gloves and a scarf weather But I’ve seen Saturday night slappers away out to the dancing in a lot less… but they at least have a few drinks to warm them up.

  • Eve Farren Farber

And I don’t mind the “real-world” look going on behind her.

    • conniemd

Even better the woman with the baby carriage, she’s all bundled and the baby carriage is too.

  • crash1212

Excellent look. I love the blue striped socks peeking out of those fierce booties.

  • Adrianna Grężak

This is a great look. Everything about her body language says “I’M FREEZING.” In the age of great wool coats and winter accessories, I kind of wish the celebs would embrace them

  • DeniseSchipani

Tip: Do not hold a metal purse handle with bare hands in NYC during an polar vortex.

  • boweryboy

    She looks really, really cold.

  • Diego!

I love this look and the bag. She looks amazing. She is cold and it shows, but she looks great!

  • MaggieMae

I want that coat, even if some might deem me too old to wear it.

  • jw_ny

Really cute outfit…worth bearing the freezing temps for that 10 step dash. I sure hope she has a hair appointment made tho, before she appears on whatever show she’s in town to do…

  • allcapsERINN

  • bogill

a metal handled bag without gloves? really?

  • acevedob

She looks ridiculous. Love the purse.

  • Lilyana_F

Seriously, that bag is all kinds of fierce.

  • lifeisastory

This woman is one of those celebrities I have irrational hatred toward. I can’t explain why. As far as I know, she’s never done anything evil or immoral. But still, my hackles go up every time I see a photo of her. Especially when several perfectly sweet poodle dogs were sacrificed to make her outfit.

  • BAG!
