Jennifer Lopez in Ermanno Scervino at the 2014 Fox All-Star Party

Posted on January 15, 2014

THis should be one of the outfits available for purchase for the official J Lo doll just because it’s so very J Lo.

Wait. There is an official J Lo doll, right? How can there not be? Why do we not have one, or better yet, two?

Jennifer Lopez attends the 2014 Fox All-Star Party in Pasadena, California in an Ermanno Scervino leather dress paired with Jimmy Choo pumps and a Thalé Blanc clutch.

Ermanno Scervino Resort 2014 Collection

If someone held those shoes up in front of us and asked who should wear them, we’d both blurt out “J LO” before they even finished the question. In fact, they’re so on point that we’d probably yell it out without the question being asked at all. We believe we may have said this about her once before, but if we haven’t we should have said it by now: she’s that extremely rare bird who can wear a skintight leather dress and make it look chic. One thing’s for sure. She’s making that skirt sing in a way the model only wishes she could.

Also: lots and lots and lots of jewelry plus drag hair. The face is looking a little spackled, though. You might want to scrape a couple of those paint layers off, hon.

    • Diego!

Sofia Vergara’s evil twin… OMG! She has now the same eyebrows as Sofia! haha Anyway, this looks super cute. She is radiant and this dress fits her greatly! I love the shoes and jewelry. I hate the clutch though. Too matchy. I’m not fond of the make up nor the lighter hair color either but she looks very nice.

      • bellafigura1

        In Sofia’s dreams.

        • Ten Ten

          This.

          • Tom Shea

That and the other. Sofia would eat JLo alive. And oh, how I would watch.

            • Ten Ten

              Cool story bro, lol

            • Tom Shea

Thanks. Your mom’s an excellent typist.

    • Stratos Bacalis

Actually there are two official Mattel JLo dolls, one of which (the red carpet doll, great likeness) I am happy to own.

      • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

        YAY!

        Want.

      • Darcy H

Well we know what the Uncles are getting for Christmas now!

      • Jackie4g

If only Tonner had gotten the rights and made her in a 16″ size, we’d get the properly proportioned booty.

      • nomoreprinces

I’m just sad they didn’t Barbie-fy that infamous green dress. Even my mother (who is also an avid barbie collector) mentioned as much when I told her they made 2 JLo dolls. So she’s going to make it herself.

        • http://howtofaint.tumblr.com/ How to Faint

We are going to desperately and urgently want pictures of the finished product. :D

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Must go look! JLo looks great. Not many women could rock that leather dress, but she’s one of them

    • MilaXX

LOL I love it. The best part of it all is seeing her out diva Mariah Carey. You know Mariah thought she was getting the diva deal when she signed on last year and instead the show set up that stupid Nicki Minaj rivalry. Every time I see JLo posing in the middle of the guys, I imagine Mariah throwing a pink maribou slipper at the tv.

      • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

I never thought about that, but it’s my new favorite celeb fantasy!

      • fursa_saida

That rivalry business was ridiculous, but I honestly loved how much Nicki and Keith Urban seemed to genuinely like and respect one another. They were an unlikely pair of work buddies, it was adorable. (“KEITH, GET OUT OF MY BRAIN!”) I wish Nicki were back (though it’s probably best for her career to only do the one season); she was, unsurprisingly, an excellent judge.

    • @Biting Panda

Biker Babe out on the town.

    • newleaf1

I’m just glad it’s a dress and not a catsuit.

      • kimmeister

So is every gyno in Hollywood.

    • marlie

I kind of hate the dress, but at the same time, JLo looks great. How is that even possible? And I love her hair.

      • Jackie4g

Knee length makes a big difference, gives the dress some sophistication.. Also JLo curves, but covered a bit, are a wonderful sight on the RC..

    • Janet B

I was all set to hate this, but I admit she looks fabulous.
      (She should buy those shoes)

    • decormaven

Thank the heavens JLo snagged this dress before Heidi Klum saw it. Only JLo can successfully pull off this look. Diva snaps!

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

        My thought exactly!

    • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

At the risk of being a bad Bitter Kitten, I’m desperately hoping this look inspires an “Hola, Lovers,” post over at GFY.

I foresee a matched set of JLo dolls in my future.

    • gabbilevy

While I’m no JLo fan, I have to give this bitch snaps of respect for the magic she’s pulling off here. Damn girl.

    • Frank_821

She looks like JLo should…no doubt

actually I was listening to a news bit on the radio where they she was quoted saying she was glad to be back on the show after taking a year off to gain perspective as a person. Sadly she didn’t say as an actress, a woman and a mother

    • xmixiex

well… she does look smoking. can’t deny it.

      • DTLAFamilies

        But not chic. Nope.

    • Lily-Rygh

What does it say about JLo that this is actually a somewhat demure look for her?

    • Sobaika

That is and always will be a quality bum.

    • butterflysunita

She does look fabulous in that dress.

    • Stella Zawistowski

      Never change, J.Lo.

    • Danielle

Heidi probably has one in every color.

    • MartyBellerMask

      Perfect.

    • bellafigura1

      I’m. Speechless.

    • Kate

From the neck down, perfection in that J-Lo kind of way. From the neck up…oh, honey… (I know she’s a Woman of A Certain Age, but damn. If J-Lo can rock leather like that, she can forego the spackle. Nobody’s looking at her face in that dress anyway.)

      • Spreecord

I disagree about the spackle. I think it’s meant to distract from how recently done her face is looking. That’s one hell of a Kidman brow she’s sporting.

    • Barbara Thomas

I saw the first two pictures and was so excited – she kept her mouth closed! And then, alas.

      • ccinnc

I came here to say THAT EXACT THING. My eyes rolled.

    • mjude

I am not a fan of hers but I have to say she is giving JLO realness!

    • rage_on_the_page

      I’ll say it: DAT ASS.

      • Nancer

        I know, right?

      • Sobaika

        Amen.

    • Jaeda Laurez

Well, to be fair, J-Lo has hips, and that model does not, which is why it looks so much better on her. I love the whole look, including the red lipstick. I don’t feel like the makeup is too much, because J-Lo!! More is More when it comes to La Lopez, always.

    • http://victoriapavlova.com Victoria Pavlova

Hmm, I don’t know… model looks stylish, JLo looks just tight.

    • Nancer

      Wow. Fabulous.

    • Mismarker

      Damn, girl. You fine.

    • teensmom99

Does it seem like pandering if I say that before I read the TLo commentary, I was thinking “wow, here’s the person who can pull off a leather dress.”

    • Pepper Collins

Maybe use a little pencil on her brows, but that’s all I can think of!

      • Sobaika

I have no doubt that her eyebrows are filled in, they’re probably intentionally light to match her hair color.

I always thought she would look way more youthful and beautiful if she kept her hair darker.

    • tereliz

Wait, you mean this ISN’T the JLo wax figure at Mme Tusseaud’s post?

    • Anna_Cecilia

She looks like J-Lo. Simultaneously a Do Me and doin’ it well dress.

    • LeelaST

      Tasteful as usual.

    • Nika E

I love everything but that fugly make up. Orange lipstick is not cute on anybody and the eyeshadow just looks smudged on. Other than that, I love the look.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

      HOLA LOVERS!

    • TheDivineMissAnn

The shoes on the model are to die for.

    • Introspective

OK so say what you want about jenny, bitch is fierce and she knows it.

Naya, take notes. You need about 15 more yrs before you get to this level of vamp.

      #bronxbroadsrepresent

    • Cheryl

Dress looks way better on her than the model; how is that possible? Dislike the horrid lipstick.

    • KinoEye

I was thinking that she is working the hell out of that dress, in a way that model can only dream of, before I read the comment. She looks ridiculously hot.

    • CatherineRhodes

You can’t be a bony model and pull off a skin-tight leather skirt. You gotta have curves for that.

I have an irrational celebrity love for her. She’s not all that talented or interesting, but there’s something about the feisty Jenny from the Block chica combined with pretentious reflections like, “as an artist, a mother, and an entertainer” combined with the fierce diva who thinks it’s her god-given right to wear skintight leather as she approaches 50 — that combination makes me smile. Like I said, irrational.

      • TerryMH

That’s so funny because I have an irrational celebrity hate for her for the exact same reasons (the lack of talent, the pretensions, the desperate need to dress young as a source of validation) – Its like we are looking at the same black and white picture and you see the young girl and I see the old woman.

        • CatherineRhodes

Indeed. She is someone that I usually find annoying, but she seems to be doing it all with since sincerity. She is absolutely irony-free.

Also, one of my favorite movies of all time is a little known Steven Soderburgh flick called “Out of Sight” where she plays a cop to George Clooney’s crook. It was early in her career when it seemed like she might take the serious actress path…alas, no…

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Little known? I would have thought that it was pretty widely known! Their chemistry was so great in that.

    • Crystal

      She is so fine.

    • lalahartma

      Caliente!!

    • Vtg Fashion Library

To Wong Foo, thanks for everything, Love, JLo.

    • EveEve

And THIS is a woman who knows exactly who she is and what she wants to wear. Be me/Do me to the hilt. [May we play TLo Jeopardy with a "Whose shoes are these?" category?]

    • DeniseSchipani

The model may wish she could make that dress sing in the way JLo does, but if she DID, she’d lose her modeling jobs.

    • BrianaJC

one of the few people who can work that orangey red lip color. also…DAT ASS

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Well now I know how to get the men in my office to come over and stand by my desk. JLo is JLo and she looks fabulous here.

    • Little_Olive

I don’t know about “chic” exactly, but she looks smokin’ and not trashy or cheesy. Go JLo!
Also, did she lose weight? she looks so petite in the full body shot.

    • Chuck Barthelme

      BOOTY!

    • Tatiana Luján

Am I the only one that thinks the underboob display is too much?

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

That dress is a kind of Gatsby-influenced leather hybrid. As a mother, person, and entertainer, JLo approves.

    • webslice33

      she looks hot!

    • GeoDiva

Not a fan of her, but man is she rocking that dress!

    • acevedob

I wish I could wear this.

    • halleygee

This is what the Taylor Swift dress was trying to be but was not. JLo looks hot.

    • Betsy

“Leather and Lace” — Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. Just got a flashback to Autumn of 1981. I had just graduated from college.

    • KT

The poor model wishes she had dat ass.

    • SorayaS

I don’t know how she doesn’t look trashy in this dress! Straight up fabulous.

    • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

      You go, JLo!

    • French_Swede

While the dress does nothing for her boobs, it makes her behind look amazing.

    • cocohall

I read a profile of Heath Ledger years ago that talked about how he was good even in terrible movies because he completely believed in himself in the film that was going on in his own head. The comment stuck with me because I think it applies to people like JLo. Ledger had real talent, but this is a quality that goes beyond talent. Cesar the dog whisperer has been described similarly. His body, voice, and movement area all in sync. And people and animals respond to this. Which is why JLo has such presence on screen. Everything is in sync. Including this hot little leather dress. Consistent messaging is powerful, even if you don’t really like or believe in the core message.

    • quiltrx

I don’t care for her, but I’ll admit…this dress looks perfect on her. I bet this is one of those dresses that looks really ugly on the rack–you have to put it on the right body to make it sing.
Hey..any other Kittens of a Certain Age remember the Cher and Farrah Fawcett fashion dolls? I had Farrah, her hair was magical. I wanted Cher, but I think my mom thought she was slutty or something LOL.

    • ShaoLinKitten

Going against the grain here– this looks too tight on her. Her boobs are smooshed.
