Jamie Dornan for Ermenegildo Zegna Couture Spring 2014 Ad Campaign

Posted on January 24, 2014

Darlings, we’re dashing all over New York City, doing press for our book and generally being fabulous. It’s a Carrie Bradshaw kind of day, right down to the uncomfortable shoes. Here. Have something pretty until we can post something else.

Ermenegildo Zegna Couture Spring 2014 Ad campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin featuring “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Jamie Dornan (pictured with model Paolo Anchisi).

He looks so much better with the beard.

the last one looks like the other model is shitting his pants

    • gabbilevy

I feel like this was the version of Fifty Shades I could have been into.

      • ailujailuj

i’m not one for furry face, but he looks quite handsome. and much thinner – I think the photos got stretched.

      • conniemd

Definitely, he’s channeling some Oliver Queen.

      • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

This is total “Sherrif Skinny Jeans” version (as EW used to refer to him when he was on Once Upon a Time).

    • PlethoraofBooks

Thank you for a handsome man pick me up. Much, much needed! Mmmm Sausage Friday…

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

Why is he so mad at me?

        • 3boysful

          Exactly. Only one expression.

        • PlethoraofBooks

I like to think of it as angry, brooding, and a smolder personally.

    • http://www.snoskred.org/ Snoskred

Well as mentioned in yesterdays Jamie Dornan post, I watched The Fall today. Be warned if you are going to do this, you want a clear 5 hours or so because this is one sitting teevee. It is 5 episodes and each one makes you want to watch the next one.

Jamie was incredible – and very pretty to look at – in this show, as was Gillian Anderson.. Well worth a watch. :)

And yes, he looks much cuter with the beard.

      • BarniClaw

You are so kind to warn BKs about clearing some time for The Fall. That was a laaaate night for me. Once I started, I just couldn’t stop.

        • http://www.snoskred.org/ Snoskred

I learned the lesson the hard way – started watching it an hour before my bedtime, stayed up 2 hours past my bedtime, tried to sleep without a lot of success and wasted an hour when I could have watched another episode, finally fell asleep. had to get up and go and work a 6 hour shift before I could watch the final two episodes. that was one of the slowest work shifts ever.. :)

This was some serious quality tv, I wish it had been a couple episodes longer, I felt like the last episode was a little rushed and I began to panic a little towards the end!

      • jspark

I wanted to binge watch but my partner didn’t have the time… and I didn’t want to netflix cheat on him. It was hard. Is anyone else getting a Talented Mr. Ripley vibe from these pictures? Very post WWII Italy.

      • GeoDiva

        The Fall was great!

      • schadenfreudelicious

The Fall was binge watching at it’s finest, and even though his character was a nightmare come true you still couldn’t look away…the man can act.

        • CPK1

I loved that show. He was very compelling. And Gillian Anderson was amazing. Apparently sales of white silk shirts rocketed when it was on the TV in the UK

          • schadenfreudelicious

Ah yes, her wardrobe “malfunction” scene comes to mind…She was fantastic, I cannot wait for season 2

    • KinoEye

Hahaha, what awkward posing from Paolo. Especially that third photo — Jamie’s just checking his pockets, and Paolo’s RIGHT THERE. Watching his every move. They are pretty, though.

      • Anna

I love that too! I’d be overwhelmed if I was in such close proximinity and had to um, work, with him as well.

      • jabes

The whole layout is weird — I can’t figure out what kind of story or relationship they are trying to portray between the two of them.

        • demidaemon

Disconnected lovers? Your guess is as good as mine.

    • Theresa

I miss the Once Upon a Time Jamie, he looked far less douche-y.

    • M_E_S

I still miss him as the randomly Scottish and totally hot Sheriff on Once Upon A Time. OUR TIME WITH YOU WAS TOO BRIEF. NOW STEP AWAY FROM FIFTY SHADES AND GET IN MY APARTMENT.

      • conniemd

I missed that he was the sheriff/huntsman in Once Upon a Time. He was totally hot in that – and scruffy too, not like the pretty boy in 50 Shades.

      • jspark

        Concur Hubba hubba.

    • Anna

This Jamie is the current face (and body) of my Spring 2014 book/fantasy boyfriend campaign.

    • Danielle

I do NOT understand what’s going on in these pictures, but I am enjoying every delicious second.

    • Jessica Freeman

We accept your sausage in exchange for getting important work done.

    • MilaXX

It’s a creepy story going on but he actually looks handsome in these pictures.

      • http://urban-gypsy.com/ Tess Danesi

Weird images, indeed. He doesn’t do it for me. Maybe it’s the hair in these pics though I think it’s just him overall. Not making my ovaries ache at all.

    • acevedob

      Yes he does.

    • formerlyAnon

Nice clothes. Better with the beard, MUCH.

I really, REALLY like that they arranged the two fellas like objects in space, TOUCHING EVEN.

But I think there’s an intentional awkwardness in some of the shots that I’d have preferred to be that easy, unconscious touching/leaning that you do with people with whom you’re very, very comfortable. One of them is an actor and the other is a model, I assume they could have pulled it off.

    • Patrick Cleary

OMG, the male model is TRYING SO HARD TO BE ART.

    • Julie Chase

      It’s Beard-FASAY!

    • formerlyAnon

P.s. Y’all deserve to can the uncomfortable shoes and replace them with something that looks great and is comfortable. If that’s expensive enough to give you pause, call it a business expense.

    • DaveinAlamitosBeach

Yes, yes, the beard kind of covers up that huge jaw which is occasionally, well, just not as pretty as the rest of him. I hope he returns to this look on occasion.

    • Pennymac

Better with the beard, yes, but still not floating my boat.

    • KT

Why is that random guy trying to put his ass and crotch all over Jamie Dornan? Wait – I think I know the answer. 50 shades of heyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    • mommyca

Totally agree with your conclusion! He does NOTHING for me without a beard… Oh well… hopefully when he is back in “The Fall”, he’ll have his beard back :)

    • Sonia Perez

I concur! The facial hair does so much good for him- and I am not really a facial hair kind of lady. But, yum! It works so well for him.

    • Blair Sylvester

Insert requisite more chemistry with himself than he will probably have in fifty shades of grey joke. Also I normally prefer men clean shaven but i may have to flip flop in this case

      • Hermione

You need to watch the British series The Fall. He has the beard and he has occasion to disrobe.

        • Blair Sylvester

It’s on my netflix que and with the weather outside I’m sure I will get to it this weekend

    • msdamselfly

I prefer clean shaven on him. The clothes look fabulous on him.

    • Eric Stott

The poses look like a choreographed lover’s spat.

      • formerlyAnon

Stiffly choreographed. I find it off-putting, not arresting or arty. I’d have liked it a lot better if it’d been the relaxed, unconscious touching you do with someone you’ve known forever and are entirely comfortable with.

    • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

I mean, everyone looks better with a beard.

    • marlie

      He’s looking pretty good here!*

      *Still not seeing the movie.

    • crash1212

Those models have no sense of personal space.

    • Laura Renee

I love the sexual tension oozing from this shoot.

    • Lyndsey Magrone

“What did I spill on myself?” “Your hair smells nice.” “So. Winded.”

    • Mrs. Julien

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I want fifty shades of Paolo, personally.

    • Madam Von Sassypants

Paolo totally has a rock in his shoe on the last photo.

      • CPK1

    • GeoDiva

      That man can wear clothes!

      • Hermione

I think he’s been a Calvin Klein underwear/ Dior fragrance model. And what’s-his-name who’s in the shoot with him is obviously not worthy.

    • Lilyana_F

He’s so handsome. Now if he could only maintain some integrity, after turning into all kinds of grey…

    • lunchcoma

He’s very pretty. Shame about the movie.

      • Mrs. Julien

The movie is a brilliant career movie. It provides tons of publicity and if it fails it will be because of the source material. Plus he has other work he can point to as good. I don’t think he can lose on this one.

        • Imasewsure

He definitely won’t lose… we are the losers (“we” being the paying public of course!).. But there have been… and will always be… worse!

          • Madam Von Sassypants

Are we still losing if it involves a lot of naked Dornan? Or really, about as naked as they’ll let him? Do you think he’s been practicing his O FACE in the mirror?

        • lunchcoma

Oh, I don’t think he’ll lose, either. I think Charlie Hunnam would have, because he already has movie directors who are interested in working with him, but Dornan wasn’t as well-known and this will put him on the map.

When I said, “Shame about the movie,” I was thinking of all the poor potential viewers.

          • demidaemon

I also interpreted that as “money wasted in making it.”

    • blorpy

That model looks exactly like young Tom Cruise. I wish Dornan didn’t look so consternated in EVERY shot.

    • Nicoclaws

He looks like a sub-Cavill pre-Superman. Does he have an english accent ?

      • Mrs. Julien

    • Imasewsure

One face as usual from the cutie non-model but what a one face… yum yum (but I’m still not seeing his stupid movie)

      • schadenfreudelicious

Interestingly he has done plenty of modelling, google Jamie Dornan/Calvin Klein, you’re welcome :)

    • ShaoLinKitten

The beard helps a lot. This photoshoot reads like a gay encounter to me.

    • AmeliaEve

Come on, Jamie! Paolo just wants to be friends.

    • MaggieMae

THAT, my friends, is how you do a beard. RC men, please take notes.

    • demidaemon

I don’t know. I’m getting a slimmed down Joe Mangionello (sp?) look from him. And the pro model is outshining him in every image, which seems contrary to the purpose of hiring a celebrity for the editorial.

    • Fred Vaughn

    • Diego!

Gorgeous. The beard suits him better than a shaved face.

    • OhSheila

      the beard. It’s…so…magical.

    • lesmaha

that…is…hot!! Keeping me warm on a cold winter’s day!!
