Gwen Stefani in Los Angeles

No one does pregnancy style quite like Gwen, do they?

Gwen Stefani spotted going to an acupuncture clinic in Los Angeles.

Heading into her acupuncturist, dressed like that. Because OF COURSE.

Not that we’re calling this dressed up or hard to wear. It’s basically a giant t-shirt and a pair of sweat pants – but it’s got real style, helped along by the ridiculous killer shoes and the shades. A hairflip never hurts either.

Gotta give it to her. She looks good!

  • fiercest pregnant woman of all time.

    • Rhonda Shore

Olivia Wilde is giving her a run for her money in the fierce pregnant woman arena…

      • stubbornthoughts

True, but Olivia is on her first. Let’s see if she can still play out fierce fetal fashion when she’s on her 3rd, like Gwenny here.

    • HVM

My vote’s for Victoria Beckham’s (post Spice Girls) pregnancy style.

  • lunchcoma

I don’t really like the pants on their own, but they’re right for her and she’s got the attitude to pull off the occasional bizarre piece.

  • ailujailuj

(practicing my hair flip) outstanding, gwennie.

  • She always seems to wear very complicated shoes when she is going into places where she might have to take them off.

    • Anna

I know! I’d love to see her photographed going to a podiatrist and/or chiropractor. While also wearing complicated heels.

The woman looks fierce as hell though.

  • Sarah

    OOh, I want that t-shirt.

  • sugarkane105

Serious question – how does she keep her hair so light while pregnant? I thought hair coloring was a big no-no for those expecting.

    • OMM4

I think there are different schools of thoughts on the safety of hair coloring while pregnant. While I’m sure it’s not without some risk, it’s generally considered okay in second and third trimester.

      • Alyssa

I know there is research (my chemistry professor in college was participating in the study) that the benzene from the hair dye does get into breastmilk for nursing mothers. However, whether or not it is in significant enough quantities to harm the baby is still up for debate. Being a chemical engineer, I played it safe but that’s likely due to having that particular professor!

      • Random Compliments

Agree – my doctors told me after 2nd trimester was fine. However, I have plenty of friends whose doctors said no way. I think the jury’s still out.

      • amf0001

I didn’t color, but there is so much conflicting info out there, and I did eat cheese, and everyone lived to tell about it.

    • boldprint

good question. I wondered that myself.

    • paginatrix

Just FYI: My doctor said to go ahead and look pretty — all 9 months.

      • sugarkane105

Thanks! That’s good to hear. I guess the idea is a little outdated.

    • jenawesome

Yeah that isn’t an evidence based recommendation its a patronizing better safe than sorry recommendation.

    • Kitten Mittons

There are so many different dyes out there, and used in different quantities in different frequencies, I think it’s impossible to tell how safe or unsafe it truly is. Most pregnant women I knew just waited as a precaution, as did I, but who knows?
Gwen looks amazing and happy, regardless. Beautiful.

    • melisaurus

I think her natural color is blonde? It’s possible she lifts her color with baking soda rather than peoxide? Just a guess.

  • gabbilevy

    Undisputed queen of LA fabulous.

  • MoHub

I don’t understand how pregnant celebs can wear those crazy shoes. I certainly couldn’t wear heels when I was preggers.

    • deelup

I always assume it’s because they’re not walking very far. I think I could’ve managed heels if I were dropped off at the curb and had to walk into a restaurant or something.

    • conniemd

If she is going to an accupuncturist, I’d guess it’s for back or neck pain, though they do some holistic health. If she has back pain, which is very common in pregnancy, for obvious reasons, then wearing shoes like that would only exacerbate her problems.

    • LauraWL

I still wear high heels into my third trimester. I do wear flats more now just bc of swelling but if you have strong ankles and legs and are used to walking in heels it really isn’t a big deal (granted I also have a desk job and the farthest I walk is a quarter mile to the coffee shop). High heels are (genuinely) comfortable for me though, especially booties, but I understand how a lot of other people don’t feel that way.

    • One of my friends found that she was only comfy in pretty high wedges. Her centre of gravity had changed so much that in flats she felt like she was about to topple over.

    • Danielle

I wore high heels as long as I could, about 8 months. The older ladies at work used to scold me. Even then I didn’t stop because of the heel, but because my feet got too big for the shoes, and I didn’t feel like spending more the cost of flip flops for shoes I was going to wear for such a short period of time.

  • marlie

She makes chic rocker mommy look so simple. Cute!

  • Victoria Anzalone

    Ugh. That hairflip is perfection.

    • @Biting Panda

    • Sartorial_She

So is the hair! God I miss how my follicles looked during pregnancy…

  • deelup

The styling does it all here. She looks lovely.

  • Jacob Bowen

“It’s a hair flip, and you flip that bitch outta your mind”

  • Is the chiro keeping her from getting pregnancy feet? Cause I can’t wear shoes like that without murdering my feet now, with my pregnancy in the long distant past. Envious, I’ll admit.

  • boldprint

Gwen’s always been an idol of mine, and she’s just getting better with age. you go, Rockstar Mama!

  • crash1212

Gwen is perfection. That is all.

    • Kent Roby

      No doubt!

      • crash1212

HAR! I see what you did there!

  • @Biting Panda

Bless her heart. I know she is surely happy to be doing well and having a healthy pregnancy (as far as any of us know) but I can’t help but wonder, if she isn’t the teensiest bit bummed to not be having a girl. Vicky Posh got her mini me, and we’ve all seen how utterly adorable she is. Surely a fashion maven and super cool chick wanted a someone to pass all of that onto. Bet one day she is the worlds best MIL.

    • @Biting Panda

I wonder why the down vote?

      • sagecreek

No kidding. Occasionally they seem to appear at random. Maybe someone didn’t have their coffee.

    • TRSTL

It is possible one of her sons might enjoy following in those style footsteps. Great fashion and style isn’t just for girls, you know? And not even just for the gays either. Honestly, it’s 2014, not 1950! Don’t assume, anything! 🙂

      • @Biting Panda

You kids get off my lawn!!!! Boys don’t know about fashion, only football, farting, and date rape. Now let me get back to my radio stories. : )

Yes. Of course her fellas could be just as into style and fashion as she is. How could they not be? One of my sons takes his clothes and personal style under extreme consideration, and I am as far from a style maven as one can possibly get. Surely growing up in the Stefani-Rossdale world they will be innately stylish, cool and likely artistic.

However, I was more relating to the bond a mom gets to have with her daughter, IF that daughter is so inclined to want to learn about signature lipstick shades and perfecting their hair flip. Obviously, she could have a girl who is all Tomboy and totally not into ANY of that. I’m not trying to box anyone into gender roles, I am all for being exactly who are, from the inside out. I just know, by having two girls and two boys, that there are some things you get to do with young daughters that most parents don’t get to do with young sons.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

I always enjoy her fashion choices more when she’s pregnant. I don’t quite know why that is. But she’s killing it here.

  • Kent Roby

I was gonna give her a solid 9 on the general look, but the expert hair flip sent it up to a 10. She looks pretty damn amazing.

  • Dagney

Luv Huh. She is so wonderfully unafraid of aggressive choices and is a shining example of how to construct an entire look that is daring, yet cohesive.

  • ashtangajunkie

She’s such a babe and just seems to get better as the years pass. Her hair is looking killer.

  • boweryboy

Sorry. I was distracted by her sexy bald handler. Yum.

  • Eric Stott

It helps to have a frumpy female handler to set you off

    • Monabel

I don’t think that woman is frumpy. Maybe, grumpy, but she probably didn’t sign up to have her picture on the webs.

      • Eric Stott

I agree- lets just say a notch less that Fabulous

      • martha

She looks like a normal person taking care of everyday errands

    • Don’t do that.

  • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was Lady Gaga out of drag.

    • demidaemon

Lady Gaga would never be this dressed down. Also, those shoes are decidedly in the realm of “too normal” for Gaga.

      • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

I know, I meant in the little thumbnail on Bookface where you could see only Gwen’s head. Put sunglasses on Gaga at the Golden Globes after party, and you have Gwen.

  • Deedles

You know what I love most about this look? NO BRIGHT RED LIPSTICK.

  • pattyw

I feel like this is what Kim Kardashian was attempting — to remain fashionable while pregnant without resorting to maternity wear — but never managed to pull off. Kudos to Gwen. But those shoes are killing my feet.

  • Tanya Wade

How cute is Stanley Tucci-esque door opener?

  • SugarSnap108

That is one glorious hair-flip. Those shoes/stilts are fantastic, but how is mamma tottering around in them?

  • Lily-Rygh

Has she had her lips done? Her upper lip looks suspiciously full…

    • amanda lynn

      pregnant face.

      • Lily-Rygh

Really? Huh. I mean, I know “pregnant face” happens, and I think hers is lovely pregnant or not. I just had no idea that could effect a woman’s lips! Thanks for the info.

(This is me being seriously curious about this, not bitchy…)

        • amanda lynn

Having never been I can’t say for sure, but I certainly have noticed face and lip puff on some pregnants. 🙂

    • Gatto Nero

She appears to be wearing lip liner, which might be changing the shape of her upper lip.

  • guest2visits

Not crazy about the outfit, not crazy about the shoes; but it still looks good on her.

  • Aidan B

    That second photo: Swish, bitches.

    • Leah Elzinga

omg. I literally heard “swwwwishhhh” upon seeing that picture.

  • crash1212

Is it wrong the I want that T-shirt and I’m not pregnant? Want.

  • ralish

Now if that’s not the ultimate “be me” ensemble…

  • Fannie Wolston

Hobo attire in lace up high heels? not feeling it here, and her lady’s maid looks ridiculous in Gwen’s hand me downs

  • Diego!

I love Gwen, moste of the time, she always looks amazing. And this is one of those occasions!

  • Jessica Freeman

She has looked amazing her entire pregnancy. Love this.

  • R. L.

I’m impressed she can wear those high heels while she’s pregnant.

  • CatherineRhodes

I didn’t recognize her without her trademark red lipstick.

  • sagecreek

She looks great, but I would have preferred some flat Doc Martens…if only in the interests of prenatal safety 🙂

LOVE this from glorious hair flippin head to fiercely clad toes!! LOVE her in general, great style, very, very rarely ever without a killer smile and you just never read anything trashy or tawdry about her.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

She looks adorable, and the hair flip is everything! That bald dude practically broke an ankle trying to hurry and open the door for her.

  • Qitkat

Shoot, I just cannot keep track of pregnancy in Hollywood these days. I thought she just had a baby. It must have been someone else. They all seem to be vying for “Pregnant Mother-To-Be of the Month Club.”

  • KT

She looks fabulous as always. Although that acupuncture clinic is in a sketchy part of town where there are absolutely no paps, so I’m starting to think she might be letting them know where she’s going… which explains why she’s so coordinated and serene about it all. Still, lookin good lady
