Dane DeHaan for Prada Men’s Spring 2014 Ad Campaign

Posted on January 10, 2014

Likely-to-play-quite-a-few-serial-killers-in-his-career rising star Dane DeHaan fixes his Children of the Damned eyes on the lens of Prada.

Dane DeHaan for Prada Men’s Spring/Summer 2014 Ad Campaign shot by Annie Leibovitz.

We tease because we … tease. We think he’s very striking, actually.  And he can act. We’re looking forward to seeing his version of Harry Osborn in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel. We’d bet it’ll be more interesting than James Franco’s version.

While I’m not rushing to buy these clothes he looks really good in them.

  • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Don’t like the clothes, don’t find the boy attractive, but he does have presence.

    • formerlyAnon

You managed to articulate what I could not, quite, about his appearance.

  • ShaoLinKitten

This is what Leonardo DiCaprio used to look like.

    • Monabel

      Only, much better.

    • Rachael

That’s exactly what I was thinking!

    • MilaXX

Before he decided that he needed to look like the Batman version of Evil!Leonardo

  • DeanaDolar

Really? Nothing? No place at all to diqus PRAS? What is the point of this site any more? Who has time to care about what celebs are or are not wearing?

It’s a fashion and celebrity site. It’s not a Project Runway fansite. Hasn’t been for a very long time.

“Who has time to care about what celebs are or are not wearing?”

Hundreds of thousands of readers a day, apparently.

    • MilaXX

They took a pass on All Stars this season. However, TLo let us chatter away in the weekend lounge. It’s the next post.

  • ailujailuj

the coolest name evuh. loved him in “Place Beyond the Pines”. F’g spellcheck is a nazi.

    • quiltrx

Aha! It’s funny how things pop up in groups…I just set ‘Place Beyond the Pines’ to record this weekend (convenient HBO free preview). I was thinking I’d never seen him in anything…I’ll be looking forward to it even more.

      • BKagainwiththesweatpants

Get “Kill Your Darlings”–about the murder surrounding the Beats–when it becomes available. It’s pretty good and he’s good in it. And Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsburg!

        • ailujailuj

Had not heard of that yet. I am a huge Beat fan. I ran across this quote from an internet person who offered a review of the film and I have to repost it – it is genius: “The whole idea of the beat generation was that if you could dismantle the structure of communication and still have some worth, then anything was up for grabs. If poetry could give up rhyme and still have substance, then sex could give up its hetero prefix and still have love, and society could give up its mores and still find order.” –drjgardner

It’s like an 8 year old playing dress up in his daddy’s closet.

    ETA: His hipster daddy’s closet.

    • formerlyAnon

His hipster daddy who never fully recovered from a youthful brush with Eurotrash.

  • Kathy

I love looks 2 and 5 on him. I’m not sure how they’d look on other fellows. Wow, he does have a certain something.

  • KT

I love that they put this brooding, sullen fellow in such bright tropical prints haha

  • Shawn EH

Blue steel without any effort at all. Sleek.

  • Rand Ortega

Holy crap, I thought that was Bowie circa 1972. He’s beautiful. Will definitely be following him in the future.

    • Renaissance_Man_ATL

He can play the younger years Bowie in the inevitable bio pic.

  • StellaZafella

Gotta say, the Prada pieces look good here…there are even some I might covet.
And DeHaan looks like he owns them.

  • ojosazules

Striking kid. Love the colors here.

  • JJ

Quick question to TLo and all the readers, for some reason I can never see any of the pictures on posts about ad campaigns, for example this one or the Marc Jacobs Miley post. I’m using Chrome…. its just weird cuz i don’t have any problem with other types of posts

    • Melanie Clark

      Are you using adblock?

      • JJ

Ha, what an obvious and completely correct fix. Thank you :)

        • somebody blonde

Yeah, I always have to put “don’t run on this page” for the ad campaign posts. Otherwise Chrome correctly identifies the pictures as ads 😛

          • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Just a suggestion (not meant unkindly) but perhaps consider “Don’t run on this domain” instead? Always nice to suffer some ads for good content.

          • somebody blonde

Yeah, that’s not going to happen. Too many of the ads tend to flash for me, and I’m just not okay with that personally.

  • Imasewsure

Ooh love this kid… one look of course but what a face!! So now we need a Bowie bio-pic and a Green Day (Billie Jo Armstrong) bio-pic for this one!!

  • marlie

This is a pretty good photoshoot. He actually accomplishes the task of making some rather ugly clothes looks somewhat interesting. Then again, these are definitely “editorial-only” clothes, and should not be attempted in real life.

  • @Biting Panda

He’s cute. He doesn’t look old enough to shave, but he’s cute.

  • Evan

That teal would look great on a ginger!

  • MilaXX

Nice clothes, but cripes I hope he doesn’t eat my soul.

  • lifeisastory

    Awful. All of it.

    • boweryboy

Made me laugh out loud, for real.

    • AnotherG

This may sound harsh, but he looks like he’ll give a heroin addiction a good home.

      • DannyV

Yo I thought I was the only one that thought he looked like a heroin addict. I would know :( Not only looks like it ,but behaves like one too, very grandiose and conceited seeming.

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Love ALL the clothes – David Bowie fierceness. I love when guyditorials make me want lady-versions of the clothes.

    • AnnaleighBelle

I should definitely read before I post.

  • AnnaleighBelle

For some reason he makes me think of David Bowie.

    • formerlyAnon

There’s something there, around the eyes, I think. But I’m not getting it as strongly as some of the other BKs are.

  • Sally3000

  • formerlyAnon

I don’t think he has the edge for these ensembles. He looks more creepy entitled MBA than mad, bad, and dangerous to know, to me. I thought he was just too young, but Google says he’s 27 which is not exactly a baby.

All of which probably means that he’s a near miss for me but I’m going to be thinking how well he’s aging in 15 years.

    • pookiesmom

      HE’S 27?!?!!????

      I THOUGHT HE WAS 14.

Holy what the what. I’m 28 so it’s not like my age radar should be off this badly. Wow.

    • pookiesmom

Like, literally, I was thinking “Oh, he’s smoldering, he’s a year or two (and a good, broody vampire role) away from making all the preteens discover their sexuality.”

And then I felt dirty for thinking that about an underage boy.

And then I read this comment.

      Seriously. What the what??

  • demidaemon

I find this creepy and yet boring. I’m not sure that is what I was supposed to take away from it.

  • Mia Moreno

Just saw him in The Place Beyond the Pines. He stole it. He’s great, can’t wait to see more from him. Looks gorgeous in these offbeat clothes. He’s a strong enough presence to carry them off.

  • shelley514

    Well isn’t he rather interesting.

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

Not hard to be more interesting than James Franco, but he sure gives good face.

  • Emily Smith

He looks how I imagine Harry Osborn SHOULD look. Franco did nothing for me in that part.

  • fananafanafophalec

I love how he’s beginning to base his career on upstaging James Franco

  • jjtxgrrl

Wow, what a cute little editorial pouty face. Not a lot of 20somethings can pull this off wout looking like a tool…..but he does it well.
