Will Ferrell at the “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” Premiere

Posted on December 13, 2013

Wow. He totally Willis’d it the fuck up.

Will Ferrell attends the UK premiere of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” at the Vue West End in Leicester Square in London.

We’re stunned into silence. It’s not as perfectly fitted as it could be, but damn if he doesn’t look turned out, polished and ready for pictures. Nicely done, Ron Burgundy. We never would have predicted this turn of events.

  • the older he gets, the more he looks like he’s part of the George Bush Clan.

    • Heather

It’s funny, he used to freak me out because he does resemble George W. But I’m finding myself liking him more – but then, I’m a sucker for a green-eyed man. 🙂

    • ewes_urn_aim

      Now I can’t un-see that! Noooooooooooooooo!

      • NYCGlamourpuss

But he used to play GWB on SNL the whole time he was on there – didn’t you ever see that?

        • ewes_urn_aim

lol omg I totally forgot about that- i seem to be losing brain cells faster than usual- forgot he was even on snl!

          • NYCGlamourpuss

Haaaah! I was wondering why you were so surprised that he looked like him, LOL! 🙂

      • conniemd

That explains my irrational dislike of Will Ferrell. I never could figure it out before.

    • amf0001

that’s exactly what I thought, and then I read your comment… so it’s not only me!

    • H2olovngrl

      MY thoughts EXACTLY!!!

  • HM3

There is something appropriately 70s-chic about this look. Looks great! They sure are plugging the HECK out of this movie!

    • Billie_Dawn

I’m looking forward to this movie’s release 30% because I want to see it, and 70% because I want the promotion to finally stop.

  • mmebam

When does this come out, again? Anyone else planning to see it?

    • gabbilevy

      18th, I think?

    • YoungSally

Not until next week. My guess is that since the promotional activity has been so extensive and long-lived….that the movie will ultimately suck.

      • AnguaVonUberwald

Yup. Whenever I start seeing previews for a movie I’m looking forward to way before it actually comes out, I am sad, because I know it will be terrible.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Me! The boyfriend and I are looking forward to it!

  • gabbilevy

Amazing how different he looks for Ron Burgundy. Well done, sir.

    • ConnieBV

And I think this was the entire point, which he accomplished swimmingly.

  • formerlyAnon

Aging well. And nicely dressed on top of it.

  • KinoEye

Snaps of respect and love for Mr. Burgundy! Show those young’uns how it’s done, sir.

  • shirab

Ooh, this reminds me, must get Elf from Netflix for our annual family viewing followed by weeks of rewatching everyone’s different favorite scenes/lines.

  • MK03

I’m a sucker for a man in a glen plaid suit.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

He looks wonderful! I never thought I’d say that about him!

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

      Exactly! Well done, sir.

  • mellorcr

Why is nobody hating on the tie sticking out from the bottom of his vest? IMO, that negates anything good about the whole outfit.

    • Jessica O’Connell

Thank you! I was searching the comments for someone to say something about the tie. He still looks good, but that is bugging the hell out of me and really distracts from the look as a whole.

      • filmcricket

It basically looks like his vest has its fly undone.

      • formerlyAnon

What is the rule? There MUST be one. I always thought that the tie was supposed to come right down to, but not over, the belt if the belt is at the natural waist. But I’m not even dead solid certain that that “rule” is correct.

    • Is it because the vest is too short, or the tie too long? I can’t tell. Would we see an area of shirt if the tie were shorter? I have so many questions because of the tie! It distracts me from admiring the nice-looking suit.

    • boweryboy

I just noticed that and was going to edit my response to say so, but no need. Did he not check a mirror beforehand?

  • MilaXX

Well shut my mouth! He looks good. I’m tying to watch the first movie, but Will’s humour only works me in small doses. So far I made it about a quarter of the way in and haven’t laughed yet.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

I don’t find him funny. Bob Newhart was the best part of ELF, IMO.

      • marlie

I’m glad I’m not the only one. He’s SO not funny to me. But… he still looks pretty great here.

      • MilaXX

        YES! I loved Bob Newhart.

      • formerlyAnon

Bob Newhart is the funniest part of almost anything he’s in. (And I include the “almost” only because he’s worked A LOT and I am sure I’ve seen less than half of his work.)

    • I like the occasional 2 minute youtube video. Any more than that and I just can’t.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Oh, I love the first movie. SOME of his humor I need to take in small doses, but I love the hell out of “Anchorman”, and “Elf”. Actually, “Anchorman” was one of my most embarrassing public moments. I saw it for the first time on a flight from San Francisco back to NY, and everyone who was watching the movie had headphones on. So this is my first time seeing it, and I fucking HOWLED! Just big, loud obnoxious braying laughter – I just couldn’t stop. Needless to say, almost everyone on the plane was looking at me like I’d just come unglued.

And yes, it really is that funny of a movie (it wasn’t just the Dramamine kicking in!) – I mean, to me it was. But I like that kind of goofy, silly humor in the right combo.

      • MilaXX

I’m with @foodycatAlicia – I can only take him in small doses. Elf for me was funny in spite of not because of him. I’ve been stop/starting Anchorman & still haven”t honestly laughed.

      • Jacob Bowen

I LOVE Anchorman, I TOTALLY had a similar experience! I was on a bus watching on my laptop for the first time and was DYING, especially during the “jazz flute” scene!

    • jtabz

I’m with you, MilaXX. My husband and both suffered through the first one silently because we each mistakenly thought the other was enjoying it.

I know lots of people love the heck out of him, though. And he does looks pretty dapper here.

  • Zaftiguana

This may sound a little stupid since I’ve never met the man in my life, but…I’m so proud of him! (Shorter tie next time, though.)

  • Michelle Wilson

I love Will Ferrell. HATERS NEED JESUS!

  • Not many comedians get the “Willis’d it” but Will deserves it. There’s an added expectation of “wackiness” (Thanks, 1989’s Robin Williams.) This is eye catching, a little quirky, and sophisticated. Not many

  • Jessica Freeman

This is just wow. Considering he’s been dressed like Ron Burgandy a lot lately, this is refreshing.

  • JasmineAM

    Stay classy, Mr. Ferrell!

    • NYCGlamourpuss

      “Fuck you, San Diego”.

  • JauntyJohn

  • Glam Dixie

My jaw dropped. He looks really great, my only quibble is the tip of his tie peaking out from under the vest. That annoys me.

  • Nika E

    He looks super sharp

  • housefulofboys

Fabulous. I won’t show this to my boys, because they are obsessed with Ron Burgandy and I think this would confuse them.

  • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

i love the detailing on the tie and the pattern in the close up pictures.

  • Mary Elizabeth Poytinger Baume

and look at that he poses WITHOUTTHE HANDS IN THE POCKETS! boystars, it can be done!

  • Chuck Barthelme

Surprised he resisted the urge to go in character, given the guerilla marketing campaign he’s been doing for this one, showing up everywhere as Ron Burgundy. Impressively done, sir.

  • marlie

Will looks pretty darn fabulous. LOVE the suit. Nice job!

  • Erica_Vuitton

Considering he wore a tee shirt and board shorts to present the final two Emmy’s I’d say this is pretty outstanding. He normally goes to premiers in character so to see him sort of taking the RC seriously is a change up. I loooove a man in a 3 piece. So dapper.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

I know, now see – I hate when he does THAT shit. Those are the moments when he gets on my nerves – otherwise, I like him quite a bit.

      • Erica_Vuitton

Exactly! I 100% understand he’s a comedian and everything but I felt that stunt was almost disrespectful. For some people winning an Emmy is VERY big deal and a very important night and he kinda made a joke out of it.

  • Sue_Asponte

He looks great, but clicking through the link to Bruce made my heart go pit-a-pat. No one beats Bruce in that white suit.

    • Pennymac

Yes, revisiting that Bruce post gave me a hot flash.

  • jw_ny

I have a difficult time thinking of Will as sausage…

Suit could be nice, but the fit, and that sad shirt collar, makes it look old man-ish.

    • kimmeister

      Perhaps a corndog?

  • boweryboy

Credit where credit is due: he looks good. However, I do not find him funny at all.

  • lobsterlen

This is going to sound so OCD but the tip of the tie sticking out at the bottom of the vest ruins it for me.

  • Tatiana Luján

the fabric of his suit is very pretty.

  • MMR

This is reminding me of Wayne Rogers (John McIntyre) from M*A*S*H for some reason….

    • Imasewsure

Same fricking face… definitely the hair too

    • kittentoes

      Thank you!

  • bizarro

He looks very important, people know him and he has many leather bound books. Sorry, I love Anchorman so I just can’t help it. Stay classy, Ron Burgundy! Don’t act like you’re not impressed 🙂

  • ashtangajunkie

I’m not expecting much from Anchorman 2. I loved the first one – I can watch it over and over, but I highly doubt they can capture the same magic again. Still, I’ll watch it out of love for Ferrell, Rudd, Carrell, and Marsden.

  • That’s a surprisingly good suit, but I can’t imagine what it would take to overcome the GWB/creepy uncle factor I get from this guy.

  • carpediva

I love how the suit brings out the silver-gray in his eyebrows.

  • teensmom99

    Am in [happy] shock

  • Nazzzy

Ugh. Don’t like. The suit matches his hair too much.

  • Lily-Rygh

Is his tie supposed to poke out the bottom of his vest? I’m honestly asking because I don’t know enough about boy suit etiquette. Regardless, he looks suave as a non-slimy motherfucker!

  • Handsome man! A little movie and a good stylist and voila! He is my favorite and my best.

  • Fred Vaughn

He kept it classy… FOR REALS!
