Reese Witherspoon in Paris

How cute is this jacket?

Reese Witherspoon spotted doing some shopping in Paris carrying a Goyard bag.

How cute is this whole look, actually?  We’d love to say, as we did with the Sarsgaard-Gyllenhaals that we fantasize about going shopping with her but frankly, shopping with Reese Witherspoon in Paris sounds a little bit like hell to us. Sorry, Reese. But we do love and admire that jacket, which manages the trick of being comfy and chic at the same time. Comfort yourself with that, girl. And try not to make shopgirls cry.

Cute outfit. Her expression reads as “happily lobotomized”.

      • charlotte

I might have the same expression if I had that jacket.

      • SewingSiren

        Or a sneeze stifle.

    • SewingSiren

Oh, I’ll bet she can’t make any Parisian shopgirls cry.

      • KateShouldBeWorking

What’s the bitchface equivalent of “unstoppable force meets an immovable object’?

        • NBG

This is why I love this site. The posters ask all of life’s important questions. :)

      • Little_Olive

I dunno. Those Parisian shopgirls bow down to no one. I lived there for a while and I can tell you, they have mastered the art making you feel like an idiot while holding a smile.
(To be fair, shopping for clothing was the only occasion where I found French people to be unpleasant. Contrary to their rap, they are usually very nice).

        • SewingSiren

          Exactly.

          • Little_Olive

I just realized your comment said “can’t”, which indeed makes mine irrelevant. I’d read “can” , which we’ve agreed on she is incapable of doing. My bad! ;)

            • SewingSiren

              No prob.

    • Introspective

living for the furry hooded parka that has tailoring rather than mine which makes me look like a wooly mammoth…

reese is giving me a totally adorable version of woman on the go here. id shop with her in paris. (insufferable or not, as long as it was her treat Im there with bells on)

      • Spicytomato1

“reese is giving me a totally adorable version of woman on the go here.”

Yes, this is exactly how I’d want to look while shopping in Paris on a cold day. However it would be a “cold day” if I could actually manage to look that good. A big budget would be a good first step!

    • Glam Dixie

That jacket is really cute but it isn’t really very figure flattering so I’m wondering what it would look like on a normal sized human. I’d probably look like I was shaped like a roll of toilet paper in it.

      • Heather

Agreed. It’s a gorgeous coat in theory, but it helps that she’s a size 00000000000. It has a boxy/swingy cut that, on me – a comparatively enormous size 6 – would resemble a grey flannel Christmas tree skirt.

    • marlie

I want her coat AND the bag.

    • alyce1213

I love the casual chic, except that’s probably real fur, so no.

      • Sunraya

Would Reese wear anything but real fur? Die for me, innocent animals!!!

I am friends with Bert Keeter, from PR, on Facebook, and he always criticizes fur in fashion. Love him!

        • alyce1213

I’m a Bert Keeter fan myself. He’s a voice here, too. I admire his taste and his work.

    • MilaXX

cute and it looks sweater friendly

    • hughman

“Fuck Paris, I am just going to my Happy Place.”

    • http://melaniesuzanne.blogspot.com/ Melanie Suzanne

      I want those boots.

    • mjude

I like the coat & color not sure about the hood.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Love this whole look. The leather on the lower sleeves is swoon-worthy.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

My personal shopping in Paris fantasies involve Dame Helen, Duchess Tilda and Countess Cate…but I’ll give Reese credit, cute jacket.

    • kimmeister

I don’t care for the preciously cuffed pants.

      • Constant Reader

That wasn’t my favorite detail, either.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I think it is a reasonable compromise when your jeans are too narrow to sit nicely over your boots.

        • kimmeister

For the average gal, yeah. Multimillionaires can afford to get their pants hemmed. I think she left them like that on purpose.

      • Little_Olive

I mean why throw on the parka and booties if the cold air gets in through you ankles? (I’m a very logical dresser, so that kind of thing throws me off)

        • AnneElliot

Yes, I adore the boots so I was examining them closely — it looks as though she’s not wearing socks!

      • ballerinawithagun

I’m short and I would have just left the pants scrunched with this casual look. I don’t like the little bit of bare leg showing with the rest of the fabulous winter ensemble.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Gotta say, I love everything about this. Even the oversized bag is not making me twitch in this particular iteration.

    • bellafigura1

Oooh, is Reese Witherspoon known for making shopgirls cry? I did not know that! Details?

    • Chelsea

I was about to ask who makes that jacket….then realized I can’t afford wherever she shops. So it’s a non-issue.

      • LJCdoc

I have exactly the same thought about the boots.

        • MannahattaMamma

          a year.

    • Jacob Bowen

Is she actually doing any shopping??? Or is she just posing in Parisian parking lots now because she’s already been in all of the American ones?

    • KT

I feel like the top half is much more prissy chic (and thus, fitting for Reese), and the bottom half is urban cool (and thus, not very Reese-like). It’s not so much a scrolldown fug as it is a scrolldown multiple personality disorder.

    • crash1212

I love the entire outfit and want it – now! Especially the coat and boots. Please.

    • amanda siegelson

how cute is the jacket? not at all. it’s boxy and has a fur collar, which, on the long list of why fur is for fucking losers unless the wearer has four legs, is at the bottom of the barrell, because it doesn’t even keep you warm.
sorry, i’m feeling angry all of a sudden.

      • AnneElliot

It could be faux. There’s a lot of really nice faux fur nowadays.

    • prettybigkitty

OMG I love that jacket. Does anyone know who it’s by?

      • sologirl00

Sandro. It’s the Maddy coat. Comes in 4 colors.

        • prettybigkitty

          Thank you!

    • heuristicvalue

I love this bitch. And her outfit. Total coat porn.

    • sologirl00

For those who love the coat, it’s from Sandro and has been one of our top sellers this season.

      • Sunraya

        Is it real fur?

      • SRQkitten

So do you know if it is real fur or faux fur?

        • c8h10n4o2

It looks like it’s the Maddy, and yes, real fur according to the website.

          • SRQkitten

In that case, ICK! Takes this from a cute look to reprehensible in one second flat.

    • Sunraya

Looks like real fur, which figures with Reese.

    • MoHub

Does her face look unnaturally tight to anyone else?

      • Mr. J.

FINALLY, someone notices this! Yes, it does….Reese has had some touchups.

    • bhl_1123

While I don’t think I would want to go shopping with Reese in Paris, I would like to BE Reese shopping in Paris.

    • tereliz

Goddamn, I’ll take those boots, too.

    • DeTrop

      L.O.V.E.

    • Erica_Vuitton

I can’t with her anymore. Not since the DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???? incident. Does she even do movies anymore or does she just shop? Clearly #1 on my IHL.

    • H2olovngrl

She’d probably be delightfully chummy, and ultimately fake.
