“Lets bow to the power of lady bits” could be the caption for pic #9 . Love his suit!

    • tereliz

      “Hail to the V”

  • Scimommy

I was anticipating a combined score of 7.12875, then saw it was on the whiteboard…

  • Her dress looks like a Project Runway challenge to turn a gym bag into evening wear.

  • rissa42210

The suit is gorgeous – not sure about the matchy shoes. That dress is NO.

  • Mismarker

Sweet Jesus, the sternum. Does it have its own Twitter feed by now?

    • They are in a rut. Two people that innately sexy should never fall victim to a style rut.

      • Mismarker

There is a “showing more sternum than a CPR manikin” rut and it is the ruttiest rut of all.

    Rawr. Times 2.

I’ve been loving the Vionnet evening gowns i’ve seen…whoever is designing there really gets what flatters a woman’s bod!!! And Idris, well that goes without saying!!!

  • Donyelle

The drape of her dress is perfection. Idris, boo, we need to chat about that ratty brown leather belt.

  • charlotte

Don’t like her dress, but then again Idris Elba is holding her hand. I wouldn’t worry about the dress, either.

  • Jeremiah Capacillo

Loving the 40s vibe she exudes – the ugly netting though just kills it.

    • Mary229

I would like it better if it was a sheer mesh as opposed to the fabric.

    • Mary Lauer

I was thinking such a lovely classically elegant Vionnet, and then I had a needle scratch moment with the netting.

  • Karen Belgrad

I don’t mind the dress, but it’s requiring an up-do and serious posing. Based on those criteria… Naomie=GTNYD

  • nannypoo

I know he has a girlfriend, and I know it’s not her, but I also know it’s not me and that gives me a sad.

    • Really? To be honest I was thinking “wow, that hand-holding is crossing the line a bit!” If I were his girlfriend I’d be nervous.

      • sagecreek

Hee! I bet his girlfriend is nervous all the time anyway. It must be rough knowing that approximately 98% of the world’s females want to boink your boyfriend.

  • KT

They always appear to be dating. They’re at least doing it right?

  • Deac82

I love the brown belt with the grey suit, but I wish the shirt wasn’t black.

  • kimmeister

She’s sort of looking like a black Kimberly Williams-Paisley (who I think is as cute as a button).

    • marlie

I have been trying for *forever* to figure out why she looks so familiar. Thank you.

      • kimmeister

You’re welcome! I’ve been trying *forever* to figure out who Idris reminds me of. I’ve been given some good suggestions, but none of them were it. It’s probably somebody in my personal life, rather than a famous person.

        • He reminds me of an old room mate. No real resemblence, but a similar smile and knicker-evaporating twinkle in the eye.

  • SewingSiren

If the V on her dress was a little less open it would be a perfect look. He is fantastic in plaid. Love the grey shoes.

  • ashtangajunkie

The brown belt with the black shirt bugs me until I look up at his face and find myself no longer caring about silly things like colour coordination.

    • decormaven

Absolutely! He is a heart-melter for sure.

  • Trickytrisha

Dammit, her sternum is back. Does she not look at herself in the mirror? Maybe she’s too fixated on him (as are all us rational people with eyes in our heads). He’s glorious. She needs a stylist.

  • MilaXX

I think they both look great. but I wish she or her stylist would pull back on the amount of skin she’s been showing during this pole dance. I don’t think she showed this much skin when she was on the Mission Impossible poledance.

    • Imasewsure

Tom probably had veto rights over all of the RC outfits for his “team”… maybe we can hire him back?

      • marlie

Be careful what you wish for. Do we really want a(nother) Tom Cruise-managed, boring-as-hell red carpet?

        • Imasewsure

I stand corrected. I will take her fashion miss-steps any day over boring!!

  • Tatiana Luján

her makeup is very nice; it is hard to screw her gorgeous face, though.

  • Noah

  • Sam Smith

What color is that belt he is wearing? It jumped out at me and not in a good way.

  • alyce1213

I really want to like this dress. The construction and seam placement are so good, but the mesh just ruins it for me. I’d love it with a less deep V neck (no mesh) and some great jewelry.
He’s thoroughly charming, his suit is handsome, and his grey suede shoes are particularly spectacular.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

You nailed it-the construction, the seams are so, so lovely, but there is that damn mesh and the V is too deep.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

To paraphrase Hannibal Lecter, LOVE your suit, Mr. Elba-that plaid is fab. Although my heart flutters at the mention of Vionnet, and I love the cut of the gown, I have to object to the boob window.

    • jif

This exactly: excited that she’s wearing Vionnet, but the netting is mighty tragic.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Seriously, just reading Vionnet made me happy-the way the rest of the dress is cut is so gorgeous.I’m presuming that the fabric was cut on the bias, given the way it drapes so beautifully. If only the V were smaller, and the mesh were gone.

    • Pennymac

Boob window with screen in it, no less. They are a pretty couple though. And I love his grey suede shoes.

  • Qitkat

Lordy, that’s a gorgeous PLAID! suit. And man.

  • Imasewsure

She is so tacky although this is better than usual… don’t like the suit on him either but I think it is cross-pollution from his co-star

  • Qitkat

Based on several recent posts, designers appear to be waging the Battle of Mesh Net vs Illusion Net vs Lace Net.

  • LaSylphide

Love her hair and make up; not so much the peek-a-boob. He’s just gorgeous, as always.

  • marlie

She does like to show off her sternum, doesn’t she? I rather like the dress, especially the way it ties back to Vionnet dresses from the 30s (40s?). I wish her clutch was a little more interesting – she could have gone with ANYTHING. And I also wish she’s switch up her hair a bit. She’s pretty much worn the exact same hairstyle this whole poledance. He – looks smashing, as usual. I LOVE the plaid suit.

  • Madam Von Sassypants

They both look gorgeous (and I adore that navy on her), but girlfriend, stray away from the center part once in a while. PLEASE.

  • BrooklynBomber

Oh, God, the mesh ruins what otherwise would have been a lovely dress. I seem mesh and I think of guys drinking beers and sitting on cars.

  • jw_ny

She looks pretty…could use a pop of color and some bling to punch up the look tho.

He should never have worn that brown belt nor those hiddy grey suede shoes. Other than that, it’s a great suit and this is one of the rare cases where a black shirt works.

  • quiltrx

The cut of the dress is just lovely–I just wish the v wasn’t so plunging or so wide.
Digging his plaid suit–but that brown belt is seriously making my eye twitch.

  • LeelaST

Fishnet cleavage is just tacky. No two ways about it. I love a Glen Plaid but pants are too long & everything seems a bit shiny.

  • Monabel

Mesh, oh dear. Was this to spare more illusion?

  • boweryboy

She needs slightly stronger make-up and a different hairdo for this dress (although both are nice). I have some minor quibbles with the dress – like those shoulder petal flaps and the fishnet cutout. I could do with one or the other, but in any case it fits her gorgeously.

He needs to stop defaulting to black shirts and monochromatic looks and start embracing color – like that fabulous blue coat he wore a few weeks backs. I not only hate the shoes, but also think they’re very wrong for the look. Add the brown belt (!!!???) and it’s all slightly off. A black or even gray belt would work in this instance, and I’m not even a believer in belt/shoe matching.

Overall, they both look fantastic. 7/10.

    • conniemd

He and every male on the red carpet these days need some color in their lives. I’m totally bored with black and gray.

      • boweryboy

It’s tragic. The Hunger Games red carpet disasters have scarred me.

  • GillianHolroyd

She can do soooo much better than this dress and that center part.

  • Guest

I feel like I’ve seen a lot of her sternum lately.

  • I dislike the peek a boo sternum, but I dislike the color on her even more. He OTOH looks like Idris Elba, so he’s good.

  • Fyolette

an updo seems like a no brainer for me, preferably with a bold lip; as it is, the (DIY-looking) hair fights with the shape of the sleeves and the shoulder line. he could use a crisp white shirt. that’s my $0,02.

  • sagecreek

That dress is trying a bit too hard, isn’t it?

  • KinoEye

Picture 9: “And now, presenting the true stars of Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom: Naomie Harris’s boobs, everyone! Aren’t they lovely?”

  • formerlyAnon

I LOVE the cut and drape and fit of her dress. Also, the fabric. My oft-heard whines about excessive sternum are almost silenced. I *do* think it would be even sexier with a little less peek-a-boo, but as peek-a-boo goes on the red carpet these days, not bad.

He’s always adorable, but there’s somewhat of a “dad” vibe here for me. Yummy dad, I’ll admit. Maybe I’m jaded, maybe I’m just too enthused about the dress.

  • ThaliaMenninger

He looks fabulous and she looks trashy.

  • anotherkate

They are both adorable human beings, but he is winning hands down on the style front. Her dress is kind of a big nothing. Love the plaid on him.

  • Christy Bishop Cricow

Is anyone but me sick to death of the bare dresses that EVERY woman seems to be wearing on the red carpet? Sorry to sound prudish, but I’m sick of it. Especially galling when they are standing next to great looking men, dressed appropriately and covered UP. Why is being well dressed tantamount to sex-on-a-stick?

  • demidaemon

I think this is the first outfit of his on this poledance that I’ve unabashedly liked. Her dress has way too many strange seam placements and I’m not liking the depth or the fabric of the faux? V.
