Matthew Morrison at the 2013 Hollywood Mavericks Event

“Glee’ star Matthew Morrison attends DETAILS Celebrates The 2013 Hollywood Mavericks at the Soho House in West Hollywood, California.

Not a thing here to criticize. We’re not sure we’d pair that tie with that shirt or those shoes with that suit, but he’s showing real style here and nothing is actually fighting with anything else. Nice job. Now stop leaning so far to the right in all your pictures. It’s distracting.

Next month on NBC – “The Music Man musical LIVE”!

    • Cindy Claussen

The already did that crap with Matthew Broderick

    • StellaZafella

I was thinking: “Sorry Mr. Morrison, the part of Nicely Nicely has been cast and you’re not tall enough for Nathan Detroit…maybe next summer.”

    • decormaven

Shhh, they’ll jump on that crapfest in a heartbeat.

  • marlie

I really don’t like the shoes, but otherwise, everything looks pretty darn great here. I LOVE the tie, and I like the subtle pattern of the shirt. Now if he’d just even out his shirt sleeves…

  • jw_ny

I don’t think the shoes go with the suit at all….and there’s definite competition between them and the tie for attention. I kept glancing up and down between them, finally decided to rest in between…;)

    • Rhonda Shore

the shoes really don’t go with the suit…

    • random_poster

It does seem that he might be leaning to the right to keep his balance.

  • Latin Buddy

Sorry guys. I love these shoes and always a fan of man-pop-of-color but the two don’t have a damn thing relating to one another like you guys said. If this were a lady star, it would be like wearing focus pulling shoes with a dress that just doesn’t go. It’s fighting with the tie. Plus, those shoes look awfully “spring” to me.

  • tereliz

He’s straight, right? WHO dressed him here and is he available to dress every other man-star in Hollywood?

ETA, he’s standing the way I stand when I have a metric ton of shit in my purse. Maybe he has an invisible purse?

  • colleenjanel

I’m not crazy about the shoes, but from the ankles up, this may be a personal best!

    • colleenjanel

And I’m honestly starting to wonder if one leg is shorter than the other.

      • jw_ny

and one arm longer than the other? 😀

    • Susan_El

Yikes. A strong start, ending, inexplicably, with Nucky Johnson’s shoes. Be careful, Mr, Shue, Nucky’s killed for MUCH less provocation.

  • ashtangajunkie

I find the shoes a bit distracting, but I enjoy the lack of douche-tastic accessorizing that I usually associate with him.

    • marlie

And without six pounds of product in his hair. It makes a HUGE difference.

      • ashtangajunkie

It just looks soft and clean! Christmas miracle.

  • MilaXX

He’s on my irrational hate list, but I love this entire outfit.

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

Seriously, Peg Leg, did Bono steal one of your lifts but fled before he could get the other?

  • Jaye Tyler

For once, he *needs* to make a DYC move – dart.your.cuffs.

  • Shawn EH

Boy, those are definitely your shoes.

  • Maybe the one visible cuff is so heavy it’s making him lean?

  • Diego!

I don’t think those shoes are really working with this suit. I like them very much but not paired with that grey suit. He looks great!

  • filmcricket

Like others: love the shoes but not with this outfit. Shoot your cuffs, Matt, and stop leaning. I haven’t seen such a pronounced tilt since Vincent D’Onofrio first started keeping the mean streets of NY clean. Great tie. I hope you survive the shitshow that is Glee, a genuine triple-threat like yourself should not have his career destroyed by Ryan fuckin’ Murphy.

  • Danielle

    Dat Oxford.

    • Clueless_Jock

      Covet thy shoes.

  • mjude

I think he looks good & I love the shoe whether it works or not. would love it in a girl shoe.

  • boweryboy

Either the shoes or the tie.

  • Rand Ortega

This is going to sound prissy & hyper critical, but I simply CANNOT abide black based neutrals with brown based neutrals. I feel so 19th century now. Please forgive me.

    • marlie

I don’t have a problem with black and brown or tan, but there’s something a bit off to me with *grey* and brown/tan.

      • Rand Ortega

For me grey is a black based neutral.

        • marlie

Yeah… I just meant that in terms of black-based neutrals, I’m ok with mixing black and brown, but not grey and brown.

          • Rand Ortega

  • teensmom99

I love all the pieces and I even love them together until I get to those AMAZING shoes that belong with a different pair of pants.

  • Trickytrisha

Great shoes, but they seem to clash here. Pretty darned distracting, IMO.

  • lundibleu

Oh, I REALLY don’t like those shoes at all. Apart from that he looks pretty great.

  • Emily Rossum just got some minor shade over white shoes (silver for the festive holidays?) that looked perfectly fine with her Oscar de la Renta. But Morrison gets a pass? Nah uh…I love you guys, but at first, second and thrid glance – this was a big no. The suit doesn’t fit him well. The pant hem is too short and falls behind a pair of shoes that is so far removed from reality, he looks more clownish than anything. He looks uncomfortable.

  • flamingoNW

    No…. not with those shoes…

  • princessricky

    scroll down douche

  • Snailstsichr

I just love that tie! And I agree with many of my fellow BKs that the shoes are great, but not with that suit.

  • jilly_d

    Nice tie. Punch-able smirk face.

  • Tatiana Luján

I think he should have chosen the tie or the shoes. They’re both great, separetly.

  • alyce1213

His pants are too short, and like others have commented, I love the shoes but not with this suit.
    Anyway, he annoys me.

  • i thought he looked like he was going to an office party at sterling cooper draper price until i got to the shoes, which add some interest for me. it’s good to see a clean-shaven well groomed face for a change, even if it’s only him.

  • Imasewsure

Thank you Matthew for bringing some variety. I don’t understand the shoes at all although they are awesome.Still major points for not wearing a boring ass black suit!!

  • lizajane1776

Oh, my! A clean shaven man! So sad that THAT is how far the bar has fallen.

  • Nicole Little

Sorry but those shoes are an ugly surprise in the context of that suit.

  • Leah Elzinga

that is the PERFECT length for his hair.

  • bitchybitchybitchy

Not liking those shoes with that suit, but aside from the feet, I find Mr. Morrison adorable.

  • formerlyAnon

He’s pretty close to not-mockable here. I like the shoes a lot, but they don’t say “winter” to me. But he usually has nice shoes on, it’s one of the things I can almost always like about his appearance.

  • I’m giving him a most improved.

  • cocohall

Did anyone see his recent special for PBS? Lots of classic Broadway. Given that reference, I almost feel like this is a costume. Maybe he is just feeling that broadway dandy vibe right now. It suits him better than when he tries to be hip and current. Then he just looks like he is trying too hard.

  • decormaven

Somebody wanted to play with ALL the toys from the fashion box. Not working.

  • Fred Vaughn

    Jazz hands!!

  • Julie Parr

Aren’t those shoes a little summery for December?
