Let’s start off by noting it’s a testament to how far Lindsay’s come that we can give her an honest style critique instead of making snarky jokes about what a mess she is. So attagirl, Linds. It seems you’ve had a semi-decent year.
Now. Let’s see how she did.
Lindsay Lohan attends the Art of Bullfighting event during the Art Basel 2013 at Cipriani’s Downtown Miami, Florida in a Halston vintage dress paired with Christian Louboutin heels and a Cartier vintage necklace.
Okay, she has the same problem she’s always had, which is that she makes everything she wears look cheaper. Part of that comes down to her taste, which tends toward the trashy, but another big part of the problem is her complete lack of understanding as to how to put a look together.
Incidentally, we speak as if she has no stylist, but for all we know, she does. But it’s pretty clear that LiLo definitely has a strong sense of how she wants to present herself since, if nothing else, she’s been consistent in her style for years now.
Back to this look: The necklace, dress and shoes should not all be appearing in the same look. They’re all fine pieces – Halston, Louboutin, Cartier – but they fight each other terribly and the result is that they all look cheap and gaudy.. A dress like that needs some sort of boob support, very subtle jewelry, simple and classic shoes, and possibly a contrasting belt in order to work. Take these shoes and the necklace, pair them with jeans and a cute, simple sweater or blouse and you’re good to go for two different events, girl.
