That must have been one snazzy car show. She looks edgy and beautiful. The perfect ornament for a shiny car hood.

    • marlie

First off, why are the ladystars at this event posing in front of a car like car models of old? Second, I loved this outfit until I got to the knees. Once the suede section starts, this outfit goes off the rails. Get rid of that part of the dress, switch out the boots for metallic pumps, and we’re in business.

      • marlie

What was offensive about anything that I said? I’m curious to know.

        • Ginny Ellsworth

There may be an infestation of trolls. On a fashion note, I think you are right. The top seems to light for a heavy boot and metallic pumps could be dazzling.

        • anneland

Maybe they are just down-voting to indicate they disagree and think the suede is the best part of the outfit….

          • SRQkitten

They’re entitled to their opinion, certainly, no matter how wrong it may be.

          • Ginny Ellsworth

But then why don’t they post that and we can all get into a great creative conversation about suede and hemlines and fabric and designers etc, etc. etc. You have to log in to down vote someone. Take the plunge! Be a rebel! Vote UP for suede!

        • Aurumgirl

I wouldn’t worry about it. You got 35 upvotes! And the single downvote, which could be nothing but a troll or just an error.

          • Dangerfield5

I down vote accidentally because I use a tablet! It’s most likely an error.

            • Aurumgirl

I know. A pox on whoever came up with the “revolutionary” touch screen “keyboard”. It makes us all look equally foolish and illiterate.

      • Imasewsure

Irrational hatred of metallic pumps perhaps?

        • marlie

Maybe it’s the suede boot lobbyists. It could happen.

          • Ginny Ellsworth

Oh, I thought you said suede boot hobbyists at first and I was enthralled with that mind set!

            • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

The suede boot hobbyists are amateurs.

      • tereliz

It’s like her legs just… vanished!! *scared*

      • Aaminah Khan

I actually love the boots…just not with that dress. I’m a huge boots gal, wear them every opportunity I get, and the higher, the better. I’m sure I’d find a way to rock those.

        • marlie

I general, I love boots, but I’ve never been a fan of over-the-knee boots. Of course, it’s a matter of personal preference. Maybe with a different dress, these particular boots could have totally worked. There seems to be a disconnect between the formality of the sequins and the more casual of the suede. I’m sure that dichotomy was intentional, I just don’t like it. ;)

          • Aaminah Khan

My favourite shoes are a pair of thigh high lace-up boots. They’re my ass-kicking shoes and I love them to bits. :D

I agree that these particular ass-kicking boots don’t really go with the dress in this situation, though. She ought to send them to JLo, who would definitely know what to do with them.

      • Adrianna Grężak

I actually really liked the suede styling of that Chanel show, but I agree that it’s not appropriate for the venue.

    • ralish

Not a fan. The sequined sack isn’t doing anything for her, and the boots look like wrinkled legs and hooves. Love the ear jewelry though.

    • Diego!

Honey, no. You look like a mamuschka. Send it back to Karl with a “Vielen Dank, aber nicht” note. You’re welcome.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

She is on my irrational love list. Look at that face, that girl is a movie stah! Perfect makeup, serving up Liz Taylor realness. The hair could be better and the fit on the dress isn’t the most flattering (I almost never find Chanel flattering), but the colors are great and the whole effect is a lot of fun. I’d cut a bitch for those boots.

      • formerlyAnon

I agree with your opinion of her face.

        • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

I agree with how carefully you qualified that statement ;)

          • formerlyAnon

One cannot easily fool the literate. ;-) I confess, my affection for the boots is conflicted.

    • Kent Roby

The dress is cute, but I’d like to see it taken in just a tad at the waist to give it more shape.

      • lizajane1776

Ezzzackly! The way she has her arms out also looks like it is pulling the dress a little, so if it were not pulling, it might settle a bit in the waist, giving a hint of shape.

And I love the seasonally appropriate footwear!

    • gabbilevy

In favor of the second hem but not the suede thigh-highs.

    • jspark

It looks like she has no legs int he first picture. Where are her legs! oh there they are… thanks scroll button on mouse.

    • KateM

I feel like she will have to keep her arms like that all night. If she lets them swing freely, she’ll end up with little sequin cuts all over the inside of her arms :(

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Sorry, Nope. The only thing that works here is the color. That dress is making her look like she has super narrow shoulders and her figure is totally gone from sight. Also not loving on the tights and matching shoes thing.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I think it might be suede boots/pants/bootaloons as per the runway.

        • CT14

          Bootaloons! Awesome!

And even funnier was the autocorrect tried to make it “boogaloo”! Bootaloons 2: the suede boogaloo,

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I wish I could take credit for it – bootaloons is a fuggirl coining.

    • lexilexi

Forget the dress. I want her eyebrows.

    • annabelle archer

Heavy and disproportionate. A beautiful, seasonally appropriate idea, but it’s falling short of what it could be.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I like the dress and I like it on her but WHY IS HER FACE ORANGE?

      • kimmeister

That’s what I noticed first – her rust colored blush. Yuck!

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

She usually has such a pretty complexion.

      • marlie

I want to say that it has something to do with the lighting/photography, because her makeup is usually flawless.

        • lrober03

To me it looks like just her cheeks are super orange, so I didn’t think it was the lighting. Either way, poor girl, she deserves better

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Seeing KStew at the same event, you might be onto something, although this is still a shade more terracotta than she usually wears.

      • ThesisMonkey

truth. maybe lighting was an issue, but it just looks like someone shot for copper and landed on pumpkin.

    • MilaXX

I don’t mind the dress & boots, but that makeup is horrible. Much too heavy

    • sojourneryouth

The colors are great for her, but the whole thing looks heavy, shapeless, and hard to wear. She looks as if she needs to be perched in the center of a music box because turning is about all she can manage.

    • ojosazules

Coco’s fashion was so body based. It had an athletic flowiness to it. You could see the body moving in her clothes. Karl’s, not so much.
Everything is so perfectly matched here it makes me twitchy.

    • ballerinawithagun

She is so beautiful! The only woman who has that young Liz Taylor look.
The new website is working much better for me today. Did you remove the Youtube cough syrup ads or were they just intruding on their own? Thank goodness they are gone!

    • Tracy_Flick

I actually love this. You know I can’t hate a sequin, and I also like that it’s playing with the classic paper-doll /kid’s-drawing dress shape. If this dress showed up in my closet I would squeal with glee, then sigh heavily that I have nowhere to wear it. The brown boots and burgundy lippy work to make it more casual. The only needle scratch for me is the orangey face – is that the lighting?

    • Sarah

I love the color of the sequins, and the dress is cute except it’s making her shoulders too narrow. Her head, well, it needs some cleaning.

    • Introspective

scroll down nope for sure. and girl that’s not your makeup either. overall the whole thing equals meh for me.

    • ChelseaNH

Mostly pretty, but she needs a waist.

    • Imasewsure

I love this from head to toe (but that neckline is screaming for a simple little necklace)….

    • BrooklynBomber

I like this whole look for her. Maybe my favorite from her.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Pretty, but the dress looks like it weighs more than she does.

    • deathandthestrawberry

I don’t know, guys. The dress looks like it’s made of sequin burlap.

    • River

She looks fantastic. Season-appropriate, dramatic, gorgeous.

    • Jecca2244

curious if they actually invited anyone from Dallas to attend…aside from the lovely Bagsnob.

    • ashtangajunkie

I want her to wash her face and have her makeup person start over. Pretty look otherwise, but I can’t get over how harsh her makeup is.

    • Monabel

      What’s with the yellow cheeks?

    • Ragnarockette

Love the overall look but could use a nipped in waist. All the sequins and the big shoulder cups make her look sack-like.

    • sunflower

I think it would work better if the dress were an inch or two shorter to make it more of a mini like it is on the model. She’s so tiny that it’s reading super heavy. Cute in theory, but not quite in practice. And that makeup is a mess

    • pookiesmom

Dress looks adorable on her, but I hate those boots with the outfit.

    • demidaemon

The shape is a bit too blocky, but I think she looks pretty good overall.

    • LeelaST

Lose the underskirt, the boots/tights, put on some killer black platforms & I’m there. This is odd.

    • p_capet

great boots but not with that dress. with the black car in backdrop, at first it looked like she was floating in space!

    • CT14

Oh it looked so snazzy in the thumbnail, but it’s rather shapeless on her.

If it just nipped in at the waist a bit!

    • http://www.readbarbara.com/ ReadBarbara

Clearly I am off my meds or something, because i really like the dress and the boots. But I’m not so crazy as to approve of the makeup. Hoping there’s a stray yellow spotlight shining on her and it’s not the start the world’s most specific case of jaundice.

    • ankali

I really like it, and I totally enjoy the weird pairing of the suede with the sequins. Hair in a messy bun and hipster glasses would have been awesome, but she looks great as is. I didn’t much care for this collection, but the pieces are translating really well for me from the runway to the RC (only goes to show that I have no fashion imagination, I’m afraid).
