Gwen Stefani in Los Angeles

Posted on December 19, 2013

We wanted to make a Patsy Stone joke here, but she looks far too healthy and well-adjusted.

Gwen Stefani steps out to visit an acupuncturist in Los Angeles, California wearing ‘Nichol’ booties and a ‘Carina’ purse by L.A.M.B.

Also, this outfit is preg-adorable, even if we think she’s nuts for tottering around in those heels when she’s got a little kicking human inside her. Then again, she dressed like this for an appointment with an acupuncturist. She’s operating on another level.

Gwen dear, you look STUNNING! I wonder what you’re going to wear next week when you visit your dentist. Bring it on!

  • Vanessa

Patsy Stone head, but the tights and shoes are all Edina

  • annabelle archer

There’s a little Patsy Stone in the best of us.

    • formerlyAnon

Or so we devoutly wish. I, personally, suspect I’ve got more Eddy in me. (Eddie?)

      • Denise Alden

Yeah, I wish I were Patsy, but I know that I’m really Eddie.

        • sagecreek

Alas, I suspect I am Saffron.

          • Denise Alden

Oh, god, I totally forgot about poor Saffie! Yes, yes: I’m Saffron, too! Not Eddie!

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I was Saffy as a teenager, according to my mother.

          • formerlyAnon

I would be but I lack the organizational energy.

        • Julie Ree

Sadly I too want to be Patsy but am Eddie. Or so says my BFF.

        • rh33

          Could be Bubbles.

          • formerlyAnon

            Hah!

          • lucyloo222

I would LOVE to be Bubbles! Cute, sassy and clueless… and everyone seems to give her a free pass.

    • Kate4queen

I wish I was Patsy but I’m the dudley do right Saffy LOL

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Gotta love it. She looks really great.

  • TrixieConQueso

WERQ it, you Blonde Luscious Baby-Bearing Perfectly Matchy Matchy (in a good way) Ha-Cha-Cha-Mama.

  • Spreecord

I cannot get my head around the sheer number of hours looking like Gwen Stefani (pregnant or otherwise) must take. That’s time I choose to devote to eating jellybeans and reading the innernetz.

  • Latin Buddy

I love the outfit and love her…but I HATE navy and black combos.

    • Kathy

Is it navy or charcoal gray?

  • conniemd

Geez, visiting an accupuncturist in that. I’d have worn that outfit to my boss’ birthday party. And I so want that jacket. Gorgeous.

  • Kathy

I’d like it if the dress weren’t so tight and if I couldn’t see the argyle socks, but otherwise, this is pretty close to a WERQ.

    • Deenice

when you are pregnant, everything is either tight or a tent. Tents are depressing.

  • bellafigura1

I’m so depressed by the return of talons, however.

  • Anna_Cecilia

She looks damn cool and amazing, she’s always been one of my favourites. I’ve seen other shots of her leaving the nail salon and running errands, etc. where she looks equally glamorous.

Please Santa, bring me those sunglasses and that blazer.

  • zenobar

What I’ve learned here is that on a really fabulous day I, who have not been with child since 2002, basically look like a ready-to-pop Gwen Stefani.

    Minus the excellent shoes.

    The pilates is not working.

    • filmcricket

Hee. I, who have never been with child, look worse than a ready-to-pop Gwen Stefani, if that helps. She is also four years older than I am and looks at least six years younger.

She’s one of those people who should always be pregnant. She turns down the ridiculous she normally wears so that she just looks utterly glam.

      • TrixieConQueso

If only Others would “Turn Down The Ridiculous”… (throws side-eye at…Fill In Your Choice For Annoying Celeb Here.)

  • NMMagpie

If this were Pats, she’d have a a Stoli in her hand. Fantastic.

    • Melanie

      or champers!

      • Constant Reader

        Why not both? Stoli-Bolly.

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I love it all except for the argyle socks sticking out of the tops of those boots. Clearly unnecessary. I especially love the sunglasses, they are just perfect.

As an aside: I’ve never been to an acupuncturist so I don’t know, but isn’t it one of those “get undressed and recline on this table” type appointments? Practically speaking, that’s an awful lot of clothing to put on, take off, and put on in the space of a couple of hours. Unless they do acupuncture right through clothing? I really know nothing about the technique.

    • formerlyAnon

Well, it’s not as if she’s a low maintenance gal in any respect – her hair, how she maintains her body, etc. I suspect she has fewer qualms about time invested in appearance (and more helpful assistants/staff members to ease the pain) than most of us.

    • giddypony

No it isn’t. And depending on what she is getting it for she may just have to take off her shoes or she may just be getting them in her face.

    • cocohall

I have acupuncture treatments regularly, and yes, it is basically like a doctor visit. Most clothes come off and there is a little smock, because they have to put the needles in all over you. At least, that’s what my appts. are like. It was my first thought when I read that she wore this to an acupuncturist – “Shit, that is a lot to take off and put back on, especially while pregnant!” I wear the loosest fit, easy on/easy off clothes possible.
But we are talking Gwen here, not a mere mortal.

    • tereliz

I get them in my hands, feet and ears when I go. Maybe that explains why she’s wearing leggings, not tights.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

I would never wear laceup shoes like that to an appointment where I had to take them off! The rest is pretty low maintenance though – tshirt dress and leggings, and a jacket.

    • decormaven

I like to think little bluebirds come and gently lift her clothes away while whistling a happy tune. She looks amazing- she truly has a PhD in Fashion.

      • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I’m having a vision of the animals dressing Cinderella in the Disney cartoon.

        • decormaven

          You’re there!

        • AnneElliot

In my fantasy, it’s tiny little Goth birds. No pedestrian cutesy-poo animals for badass Gwen.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

They’d need to – how else would she get undressed with those nails?!

  • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

    Utterly gorgeous.

  • formerlyAnon

Damn. I love this look, though I’d prefer low heeled boots. I am especially impressed with her hair. As she consistently navigates her style through time and space and life events, I may have to start thinking of her as a minor fashion icon. A lesser deity, but beyond mere mortal status.

    • filmcricket

Especially since, from what I understand, colouring one’s hair while pregnant is an activity that’s fraught with peril. I know a lot of stylists who gave up colouring their own hair while carrying.

      • tallgirl1204

I’ve heard various things about that. I confess I continued to color my very very gray hair throughout my pregnancy– kid seems o.k., but maybe I will someday look back on my decision with the same horror that I regard Betty Draper with her pregnant self chain-smoking and downing cocktails…

        • Jackie4g

bearing in mind my only offspring is now 30 and a very healthy young man, I remember asking the Ob/Gyn many “what about” questions. I had taken LSD, smoked your weight in pot, experimented with other mind altering substances, and I was worried about the after effects. His answer was not to worry – it’s about what you do now. Everything in moderation. Your Mother’s generation did not produce damaged children, even if they did smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. (Which my own mother never did, but plenty of others did in the 1940s and 50s). He said: “If you cant quit smoking, cut down. If you have to start your day with coffee, have a cup, but just one cup. Once a week you can have a beer or a glass of wine. Take your vitamins and continue your daily two mile walks”. Damn, he was a smart man. Anxiety can produce all manner of side effects, and he took away my anxiety.

        • filmcricket

What I’d heard was not so much about danger to the baby, although I guess that’s a possibility, but more that the hormones made the colour react weirdly with the hair. My old stylist tried to dye her normal brown and it came out bronze.

          • http://howtofaint.tumblr.com/ How to Faint

The things that can affect hair color can be crazy. I went through a period where I was on a lot of medication and fighting off a severe infection, which meant tons of antibiotics on top of all the meds. Oh, and I’d been getting daily CT scans with contrasts for up to 3-4 weeks at a time. So of course I had the brilliant idea to go blonde.

I ended up going grey, which turned into an ashy pink. In the end, my poor stylist was forced to do me up as a ginger. My doctor mocked me relentlessly for my hair misadventure. :(

  • SugarSnap108

She must be seeing the acupuncturist for low back pain, because those shoes while pregnant….
    She looks fabulous, though.

  • http://weirdinedgewise.blogspot.com ONEWEIRDWORD

It’s really such a simple outfit – the accessories are where she shines. I love that scarf; I love that scarf; I love that scarf.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

H to T perfection! It’s hard to look that fierce when pregnant, I don’t know how she manages it.

  • stubbornthoughts

    Goddammit I love her.

  • cmb92191

Damn! When I was pregnant, I was lucky to find sweatpants that fit. Good job Gwen– now look fabulous for that acupuncturist. What does she wear to take the kids to school?

  • Mona_Visa

She looks great, but… I want that car. Kinda bored with mine.

  • LauraWL

Love this head to toe. I didn’t even know she was pregnant! This is pretty much my work uniform while I’m pregnant: leggings, body-con tunic/dress (gotta show off the bump), jacket, scarf and booties. (If you wear heels regularly and have strong ankles, wearing them while pregnant isn’t a big deal).

  • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

I need those sunglasses in my life.

  • Coleen

If I was the same OB waiting room as Gwen Stefani when she walked in looking like that, I would probably burst into (hormonal) tears all over my stained sweatshirt and second-best yoga pants.

  • BeeBeauNYC

Always love clicking on Gwen posts! Love that gal’s style!

  • MilaXX

Gorgeous. I’d wear that look even not preggers. Whole ‘nother level is right. I almost want to give this a maternity WERQ

  • tallgirl1204

That scarf with that jacket. So eye-catching and right.

  • Sam Smith

Scarf, jacket, booties are all a Yes for me, but the rest of the outfit doesn’t live up to those three items. Black skirt and black tights are particularly upsetting.

  • Imasewsure

Love the boots and love everything else but not necessarily together… still she makes everything work.

    • kimmeister

Yes, this. I absolutely love everything together from the waist up. The waist down is nice, but seems to belong with a different outfit.

  • IAmJ

    She is a goddess.

  • marlie

    She looks fab!

  • melanie0866

As James Earl Jones would say, Totes Adorbs.

  • Shawn EH

44 and pregnant with a third child? LIke Halle Berry, she’s a superwoman.

  • Melanie

    love her sunglasses/scarf combo!

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    Nice level.

  • MiriamMc75

    Girl crush

  • alyce1213

So cool and put-together. This begs comparison to Fergie’s street getup yesterday. Gwen knows how — and where — to wear a scarf, for starters.
This gal is chic and really knows how to work her own look.

  • Pennymac

I was a beached whale for all three pregnancies. She is chic and elegant.

  • Fred Vaughn

    Tastefully done.

  • amanda lynn

my boyfriend saw photos of her in this outfit and said “that girl can DRESS”. :) i was so proud.

  • AnniNoone

She looks great. I’m just boggled, though — she’s four days younger than I am, her two children are just slightly younger than mine (just enough so that I made jokes about how Gav and Gwen needed to quit copying us), and I cannot. even. imagine. starting all over again. I guess that’s the difference between having a household staff and being the household staff.

  • Ten Ten

    Bow, bitches.

  • Therese Bohn

I love that scarf! She’s Fab!

  • http://www.elsiemaydesigns.com/ Elsie May Designs

    She looks stunning!
