I’m surprised how much I like it.
Yep. Just moments ago I thought I was someone who would never like a gown with an animal-print skirt. I don’t know who I am anymore.
Me too. I normally despise animal prints except when used with severe restraint–but this is a dress I love.
she looks like the sexy cousin at the wedding you want to have drinks with
…because she’s already had a few?
At least its different! I think its fun and works on her.
Nearly a WERQ for me. I’d like a little more hair volume, but I respect that she rocks the natural head and this is what we get. Also, I need a statement jewelry piece. Overall, I loves.
Concur. Some big ol’ dangly earrings or big honkin’ necklace would have been so much fun. Especially if they’d been in a complementary gem, like emerald.
She looks fantastic. I love this look; and I’m not usually a fan of animal print anything.
I thought that I was the only one who disliked animal print! It’s good to know that I’m in good company.
You have company. My dislike of animal print is irrationally strong. More an extreme prejudice, but I don’t hate this.
Same. Animal print usually looks cheap or desperate, but that skirt is beautiful. Her lip color is making her skin look crazy delicious too.
Just goes to show that you can go to a socialite event without looking like one! Bravo!
me too- I think she’s pulling it off because SHE just looks so fabulous. She’s really come into her own lately…
I agree, but I’m seriously questioning the limp hair. Everything else is pretty damn good.
I guess I’m the only one who hates this. I think it’s dreadful.
I don’t like it, either. It’s very aging and there’s something a little desperate about it – it makes me think of the Real Housewives, and I never want to think about the Real Housewives.
i agree. i think its the low-cut bodice plus the leopard print. the two together just feel like a cougar on overload.
Hmmm… I like it. I wasn’t too sure with the three colors on the top, but it blends nicely. I really wish this events had different names: Snowflake Ball, Winter Ball sounds like a middle school or high school dance.
Perfect Wednesday. She looks amazing.
Dare I say, Jane Fonda would own this dress!
I like it!
Again with the hanging in the face hair. Are the good stylists taking their holidays on a coconut island somewhere?
Love the neckline. Overall I like, but the darkest panel at the waist is 1 element too much…distracting. If the taupe color went to the animal print with maybe a thin band of the dark, I think it’d be more flattering. Her makeup is perfect.
Scroll down FUG for me. I was hoping for something interesting on the bottom, but not this.
No one does their hair anymore?? WTH?!
Lame hair and this bold matte wine lip – feels like we’re seeing it a lot. I don’t like….
Nice try. Not in love with the messyness and colors of the bodice. Hate the skirt with a passion.
I don’t like the fabric combo in the bodice either.
This offends me so. As a lover of neutrals paired together, that bodice is a dream, but the skirt just doesn’t work. It’s too much, unfortunately.
Helena Bonham-Carter’s favorite American cousin. I LOVE it!!!
I really like the dress, but I have some quibbles about it on Christina. First, I think this dress belongs on a taller ladystar. Second, The proportions are weird (is the camera angle, though)… Christina seems to have really narrow hips, so that with the volume that’s added by the layers and criss-crossing on her bodice, makes her torso/upper body look wider.
But, the colors are beautiful. And I love that she went with a bold lipstick here (two ladystars in one day, so far!). And I can’t see what’s going on with the back of her hair, but from here it looks a little too casual.
Agree about it being designed for a taller person – yes, she has a long torso, but it’s still sitting too low on her.
Love the gown on her. I wouldn’t have advised leopard print for a Snowflake Ball, but it is snow leopard, so what the hey.
Carolina Herrera Goes to South Beach.
Makes her really short.
It’s lovely, but for a Jack Hanna tribute ball, not something called “The Snowflake Ball”. (That may just be the soap opera geek in me, though.)
That’s one helluva dress. She’s maybe a little too petite for it, but she’s got more than enough attitude. I love it.
Wow! This is great, a wonderful reprieve from the usual holiday dress-up toolbox. She looks wonderful. I think I need that dress, by the way.
The three layered colors up top add a lot of volume and busy-ness. I think I’d prefer this in just one color with the animal-print skirt. Maybe the silvery grey.
I was fully behind this until I scrolled all the way down. Then it was just kind of “Oh.”. Was fully expecting it to be cocktail dress length.
GORGEOUS dress and she is rocking it!!! Way to go Miss Xtina!
Gad, just when I was starting to like Carolina Herrera. . .
I like the idea of the dress, but its just not working. The layering on the top is lovely, but I don’t like the colors…and formal animal print is just not my jam.
The colors just don’t flow correctly. I like the top, but when I hit the skirt it just didn’t make sense. But hey, Christina looks amazing!
One of the most flattering necklines ever, for any woman. Beautiful. The skirt, meh, but that neckline offsets a multitude of “meh.”
Homegirl has been doing some pushups, maybe lifting a few weights? Totally dig it, and you can tell she does as well.
Sexy and surprisingly perfect for her stature. I love it.
Adorbs. There. I said it.
DAT MAKEUP. She looks gorgeous.
All you gals who insist on showing sideboob and underboob, take note. THIS is how you do cleavage!
I like this, especially the way the black nips in her waist. I think the animal print works for me because it’s not too literal.
I love Carolina Herrera, she just makes interesting gowns for women. This dress would look awful on a lot of women. Christina Ricci looks pretty cool here. The dress could tend into Kardashian territory on the wrong woman. I shudder thinking of Christina Aguilera in this dress. But she looks more like she is being playful and having fun being vampy, not taking it seriously at all.
WANT that lipstick! So hard to find the perfect red…
I like it. She looks nice.
My only issue is design wise: that little bit of black is bugging me. I feel it’s needed for contrast, but shouldn’t be so prominent in the bodice – like it should be a sash or a belt or something.
That décolletage is crying out for a necklace
I love this dress! Addressing everyone who posted prior to me…Animal prints are tricky. The fabric itself MUST be high quality and handled with care. Roberto Cavelli is a Master with animal prints. I am surprised that it is a Carolina Herrera! Love the flatter bodice and the three fabrics in combo.
My only quibble is the waistband that shows on the skirt. I would have worn the black drape on the outside to cover the waistband. Minor I know.
Yes, her hair needs some uplift in the front.
She looks adorable, sexy, appropriate, and fun! Now I’m really needing to see her in a new movie soon! (um, as long it’s not a sequel to that snake-moan-whatever movie!)
Very pretty. Except for the do-nothing, too-flat hair.
how awkward, at first glimpse it seemed V Westwood….On the other hand, she is very cute
If this dress was to the knee I would love it instead I just like it. She looks great though, her makeup is perfection.
Only Carolina Herrera could compel me to like animal print in a dress, RAWR!
The skirt’s okay, even though it’s a little stiff, but the bodice looks totally overworked and incongruent with the rest of the look. It’s got that 18th century shipwrecked vibe to it.
Hair looks a little shitty, but her makeup is great — I WANT that lipstick.
Yeah, that’s perfection.
Scroll down YIKES!!
I found the animal print expected.
the bodice is gorgeous.
she looks more and more like calista flockhart the older she gets.
Love the bodice, not sure about the skirt. Wish she’d done a little more with her hair, but she looks pretty.
I’m surprised by how indifferent I am given how many elements there are.
I love her and I like the dress but it’s not quite working… wish the pattern were on top and the plainer parts on the bottom… maybe… still it’s fun and different
She looks like how I want Helena Bonham Carter to look all the time.
I furrowed my brow and shook my head.
She looks stunning. She pulled this off big time. Makeup is perfection, the dress suits her figure and coloring, wow!
Great dress! But she is too petite for it. This dress needs an amazon to really shine.
it’s very mother of the bride for me.
i’m not buying the taupe at the top. a clay-like color. if it were a dull gold (as in, not too sparkly) it might look more festive. just doesn’t say snowflake ball to me. my husband loves her, so maybe i’m just jealous.
I like the idea of her makeup, but the way the eye makeup is applied just looks like an infection waiting to happen.
I love everything about the top. I just want it paired with a completely different bottom. They don’t go! And not in a good, edgy, makes-you-see-the-world-in-a-different-way sort of “don’t go.” But in a “doesn’t go” sort of don’t go.
That hair, though — look in the dictionary under “bedraggled,” and you’ll see a picture of this hair.
I miss slightly pudgier Christina Ricci. Still have a huge girl crush on her, though.
She had me right up until the animal print.
I wish she’d loan me her make-up artist. And I’ll take the citrine ring, too.
The top part just reeks of a wannabe-Westwood dress without the proper skill and knowledge of structure found in an actual Viv Westwood dress
Am I the only one getting a cougar vibe off this dress?
Ms. Ricci is too young and classy for that.
Good Lord it looks cheap…
that top isnt pretty at all!
I actually realllly love this. And her face is giving me LIFE. I need someone to recreate this makeup on me immediately.

I like it a lot, but would probably be better with just two solid colors – the gray and the brown.
Wow, love this. Wish she’d done a bit more with the hair, and a pair of massive earrings would’ve set this off perfectly, but other than that, GLAMAZON!
(Fortunately I love animal prints)
I am terribly against animal print, in almost all instances. I think this dress looks good on her and she looks good in it.
Miss Ricci looks lovely, but I’m amused by the sad homecoming dance decorations behind her.
she is too diminutive in stature to wear this…unless she gets a legs transplant and is boosted up a coupla feet….
This is totally working. How is that possible?
The black panel looks awkwardly off centre to me. Is it supposed to be like that?.
I’m sorry, but I just can’t with the animal print skirt. The bodice is amazing, but below the waist is making my eyelids twitch a little.
Bam! Nailed it.!
Dayum gurl. You did me proud.
Clever design here. Good choice Christina!
I just… love her. The flame never dies.
I can’t ever get past the Forehead.
