Amy Poehler in Alice + Olivia at the “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” NYC Premiere

Posted on December 16, 2013

We’re not a hundred percent on the sleeves, but this is another “attagirl” for Miss Amy. We wonder if Tina Fey lent Amy her stylist, because she’s suddenly kicking ass.

“Parks and Recreation” star Amy Poehler attends the “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” premiere in New York City in Alice + Olivia.

Alice + Olivia Hanah Puff Shoulder Long Sleeve Aline Dress

Really cute – and very well suited to her. The sleeves aren’t the worst thing in the world, but we think we’d have liked them a little more fitted and/or a little longer. Also: remove one ring and put a bracelet in its place. And maybe some metallic shoes. But these are just suggestions. We can’t help but mentally play with our celebrities, as if they were paper dolls.

Her hair’s never looked better. For a while there it was really brassy and yellow, but she seems to have settled on the right hair color.

That is a world class face.

    She looks great

  • hughman

Adorbs. Although the fabric makes the crossword puzzler in me twitch a little and blindly reach for a pen.

  • kimmeister

I’d add a belt too, but she does look really cute!

I think her body would not do well with a belt. So points for knowing what works for her.

        • Aurumgirl

And I think the line of the dress doesn’t work with a belt, either. Look how great it looks on the model, without a belt, as well!

  • filmcricket

Super cute! At first I thought she was wearing Docs and was hilarithrilled.

    • If only she were wearing Docs!

    • TrixieConQueso

Will be using your word “hilarithrilled” – you clever Cricket.

    • Rand Ortega

Your turn of phrase is quite… hilaricool.

  • alyce1213

She looks happy and adorable. I love the short dress with tights. Wish I had a better look at the shoes — they appear to be cute.
Maybe she could’ve used a necklace, or a belt?

  • Trickytrisha

Sweet look for her. Love her face here. And the pinky ring! It’s prolly a good thing we can’t see the shoes more clearly, though.

  • teensmom99

I have this fantasy that will was giving her bad fashion advice & now she’s doing her own thing.

  • Janet B

Cute, except for the awkward sleeve length.

  • Virgin Snow by Manic Panic is a “natural” blond’s best friend.

  • MilaXX

I get what you’re saying about the shoes, but the booties somehow feel more like Amy’s personality.

  • annabelle archer

No grown woman should be caught saying it, but she is TOTES ADORBS!

    • Rand Ortega

(to quote James Earl Jones): TOTES MAGROTES!

      • MoHub

And Malcolm McDowell. I worship that whole series of ads.

        And that’s Totes Magotes—no r.

        • Rand Ortega

LOL. My bad. Those ads are like watching a satirical 21st Century “Waiting For Godot”. They’re going to be in syllabi for communications & marketing majors in the next 20 years.

Face and hair: perfection! Keep these people near you at all times.

    • MRC210

Yes, that hair color and style is just lovely.

  • bellafigura1

OK, well, yeah, nope. I hate the sleeves, I hate the fabric, I hate the opaque tights with those shoes. At the very least, sheer black hose, a tall boot, a big cuff. Love her, hate this. Although I will say, it fits.

  • demidaemon

YES! I love this, too. Those SNL lady alums are KILLING it!

  • Sunraya

I don’t like her make-up. Too harsh. But I love everything else on her. Looks sassy!!!

  • bitchybitchybitchy

Send that stylist to Kristin Wiig.

  • Jacob Bowen

Her legs disappear into the wall behind her, so she DEFINITELY needed a different color shoe to at least remind us that she’s not a double amputee.

  • French_Swede

I love the dress. Those sleeves are really cute and hide those upper-arm jiggles that SOME people can get. Ok, me.

  • a_liking

I will never understand women who perpetually dye their hair blond. just, why???

  • nannypoo

I think it’s great and I even like the sleeves. She seems to like it too.

  • Imasewsure

Love her but not feeling this one. Dull and odd although hair and makeup are great

  • elemspbee

Pretty dress. Sleeves are great, I think. It’s the black tights that kill this look. and that unremarkable shoes.

  • Super cute.

  • decormaven

She’s looking great here! Loved the cover pic of Fey & Poehler on EW- can’t wait for the Globes presentation.

  • Sarah

I first wished the sleeves didn’t make her look quite so much like an Xmas angel tree topper. But then, I remembered next week is Xmas. (And she looks great, don’t get me wrong). Now I think, heck yeah, this might be the best time of year for those sleeves!

  • I remember, when season 5 of Parks premiered, screaming “OH MY GOD, SHE FINALLY GOT LOWLIGHTS!” This hair color is way better than seasons 1-4 Leslie Knope.

  • Heather

Miss Amy, looking foxy!! And while I think it’s too short on the model, it’s the perfect length on petite Amy.

  • Angela_the_Librarian

Love the dress. Can’t wait to see her and Tina Fey host the Golden Globes!

  • crash1212

Very cute. Her head is perfect. That is just the right shade of red lipstick for her. I’ve been searching my entire life for the perfect red. Well done Amy. Can’t wait for the Golden Globes!

  • lynnlee

I think you are right and she is borrowing Tina’s stylist. They both have sported simple, clean looks with some edge to them recently.

  • ovarB

The weave of the fabric is a little too heavy and loose. Perhaps that is why you are desiring a more fitted shape.

  • Shawn EH

    So cute.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Love this, but the black tights seem a little heavy for the look.

  • marlie

Cute, except for the shoes. I HATE the shoes. But everything else here about Amy looks awesome.

  • KinoEye

Best of all, she looks happy and comfortable in her own skin — that was one of the things that made me so happy about that Tina Fey post yesterday. Sure, she had great clothes, but her attitude really made it sing. Happy to see some of my favorite ladies looking so confident, as they absolutely should.

  • Danielle

Keep that lip color in heavy rotation, Amy. Love it.

  • I like the sleeves because she’s a quirky lady. Maybe it isn’t precisely the most flattering the dress could possibly be, but I’d rather see her looking like herself than looking like a committee-approved glamazon. She looks like a very pretty Amy Poehler.

  • i’d like to see a belt with this, to give her a waist.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

    Nope. (Knope.)

  • Watts

I just wish she’d wear something other than a crewneck neckline every once in a while. Mix it up, lady!

  • guest2visits

A perfect dress for her but I would have liked nude or very sheer black hose with different shoes even better.
