  • Diego!

That dress looks like a trash bag and is not doing her any favors, BUT her hair + make up + earrings and THOSE SHOES are amazing! Attagirl 😀

    • kimmeister

Not to mention the bra visible from the side!

      • Diego!

I didn’t see that! Good eye!

      • At least it appears to be a very pretty bra?

    • charlotte

Plus she looks thrilled. Her smile is heartwarming!

      • Diego!

Word. She looks happy and that is the best accesory for this look.

Wait, I thought @disqus_kguBZudzDD:disqus was throwing down sarcasm; that’s why I upvoted it. @diegoelunico:disqus are you dropping double, 400-level sarcasm? I’m confused and alone and need to finish my holiday shopping.

          • Diego!

Hahaha I think she looks pretty well but that dress is hideous and unflattering 🙁

          • Katie Wolf

As I see it, she is flipping beautiful but that smile lets me know she could straight up cut you for saying that! 😀

          • charlotte

No sarcasm this time, like Diego I appreciate her smile although the dress is fugly. Feel free to downvote me now (see, I gave you some sarcasm)!

  • Mazenderan

Boxy, unflattering dress, severe hair, and again with the unfortunate pale, shimmery eyeshadow. No, no and no.

    The shoes are alright.

  • Sarah

Well, she’s making it look as good as it can, I guess. Nice earrings.

  • housefulofboys

I would like those earrings under my Christmas tree, thank you.

  • 8daysaweek

I would love to see Meryl Streep in this dress.

  • I can’t judge this outfit because a giant, mustachioed nose is threatening to snort her away…

    • Danielle

  • It looks like she cut a deep V into a pillowcase.

  • Trickytrisha

Pretty underwhelming for the premiere of such an important film.

  • ChaquitaPhilly

It’s snowing like crazy and I think she looks lovely and chic. Her styling and makeup are great and I like the dress.
    So there!

  • Tatiana Luján

The dress looks at least a size too big.
The hair, makep, earrings and shoes are great.

  • DTLAFamilies

Lanvin strikes again. Remind me again how they stay in business?

    • tereliz

      In store collaborations with Hefty?

  • ashtangajunkie

I think I would like this if the bodice were fitted. Or fit at all. Makeup is gorgeous and I like her hair pulled back like that.

  • filmcricket

I’d like it if any of it fit. The dress is too big, and the shoes look like they’re killing her. Pretty earrings, though, and she always has that face to carry her through.

    • annabelle archer

      What filmcricket said.

  • Lori

I think this might be OK in a “basic LBD” way if it fit, but it doesn’t. Even if it did fit and looked OK I’d still think she should have worn something more interesting on the red carpet for an award-bait movie that she’s in.

  • I love the notion of a grosgrain lapel, just not the execution.

  • sojourneryouth

Her head looks amazing (I may have to reach into the screen and snatch those earrings for my very own), but that dress is shapeless and dated looking.

  • Rebecca Harvey

Maybe, if her bra weren’t showing, it would be passable. Not great, but okay.

  • Tracy_Flick

Oohh, it’s really styled very well, but the dress is just too stiff, heavy, and big. Close, but no cigar.

  • boweryboy

She always seems so severe. I want to see her soften her look a bit.

  • crash1212

Those earrings are giving me life.

  • MilaXX

I think she’s a great actress, but man she comes across as boring as unbuttered toast. I like this look, but I wish she had gone for a navy or hunter green. I’d also love to have seen her hair out.

  • Jacob Bowen

Why the pale face Amy??? Garbage bag dress making you sad?

  • shaziz

it’s too big on her~ Love the look tho~ fab earrings

  • KT

That is an extremely unflattering dress. The bodice doesn’t fit at all, it looks like she has no waist, and the bottom half is heavy and appears to be dragging her down. It’s too bad because the styling here is actually quite nice — love the shoes and earrings. Amy, just wear your American Hustle drag from here on out, and everything will be fine!

  • mjmiller

Shoes are fab. Makeup is great. The dress has potential, but needs to be fitted better. The hair is way too severe!

  • Sunraya

So dull. With all of the cool clothes out there, why do stars and their stylists pick such dull clothing???

  • elemspbee

Not looking good. It looks huge on her. And ill-matched.

  • quiltrx

I has a sad at this giant grosgrain dress. I can see your undergarment under your arm, which is an immediate outfit veto for me. If Julianne can’t make Lanvin work, you might be out of your depth, Amy.
From what little I can see, I LOVE those shoes, though.

  • Love the earrings, the belt, and maybe the shoes. Hair and makeup look good, though the liner is just this side of too heavy for my taste (on her). Too bad the dress is such a big blue note.

  • marlie

I like everything except the dress. Her hair and makeup are pretty, and her earrings are really cool. And despite them looking a tad bit uncomfortable, I like the shoes. But the dress… It’s way too big and too shapeless for AA. I like the competing textures, but that’s about it.

  • Ashleigh

I like this. Seems chic to me.

  • kipper

Second best dressed mother at the PTA

  • NOLA_gal

I just can’t with this one. Ugh.

  • ShaoLinKitten

AA always seems so deathly dull to me, and these pictures are no exception. I look forward to seeing her in American Hustle, where she plays a conniving criminal. It will be nice to see her break type.
