Amber Riley in River Island at the 2013 Trevor Project Benefit

Posted on December 10, 2013

This is absolutely a personal best for Miss Amber.

“Glee” star Amber Riley attends the 15th Annual Trevor Project Benefit at the Hollywood Paladium in Hollywood, California in a River Island dress.

River Island Boucle Panel Skater Dress

Literally from tip to toe. It’s all working like gangbusters, from the hair down to the we-never-would’ve-thought-they’d-work booties. Adorable.

    You werq it gurl!

  • love it! I think with those boots those it would look amazing with some black tights. I might just be cold though.

    • ballerinawithagun

My first thought also, but great dress on her!

    • decormaven

      Like minds!

  • Deb Oswald

She’s adorable and pretty and this is awesome!

  • MilaXX

I would so rock this look only I would wear tights. Love! Also congrats on her DWTS win!

    • marlie

I never vote for things like that (American Idol, DWTS, etc.), but I hate to vote for her this time around because she was so impressive on the dance floor! And she had such potential; you could see it from the first episode.

      • MilaXX

        Yes! She was fantastic!

    • Introspective

she was amazing on DWTS!! girl sashayed her way to that title with ease and grace. amber showed them that a curvy girl has all the moves.

and yes, she looks too cute here. lurv

    • terpsichory

I can’t believe I just bought it. It was even on sale! This is the first time I have ever bought something off the body of a celeb.

      • MilaXX

Don”t feel guilty. It’s a cute dress at a great price.

      • melisaurus

        I can’t decide if I should get one. 😛

  • Diego!

    WERQ! She looks AMAZING!

  • Chickadeep

So cute on her! I’m not usually a big fan of topknot buns but I like it with the braids. Even the makeup’s fab!

    • MilaXX

That was my summer hairdo. It looks cute and kept my dreadlocs off my neck.

      • Constant Reader

I do a topknot bun when it’s really hot out, too. Thick, curly hair (not dreadlocks) but it needs to be off my neck and face.

      • mjude

I learn something new everyday my friend. I am trying to picture kitty millaxx with dreads 🙂

        • MilaXX

LOL – Actually eggplant colored dreads.

          • formerlyAnon

You DO have style, don’t you?

Maybe it’s just because I work in the least stylish environment humanly possible without a uniform, but I’m impresssed.

          • MilaXX

lol, I don’t know about that but I have gotten to the point where I know what I like and what works for me & I go for it.

    • gabbilevy

It’s about balance, IMHO. The bun is a nice big size and is in a good ratio with her head. She looks great.

      • marlie

And with the fullness of the skirt. Good proportions, all around.

      • kimmeister

Indeed. Had it been a tiny JLo top knot, it would have looked ridiculous.

    • alyce1213

I was going to say exactly the same thing — don’t care for a big bun, but with the dreads it makes sense.

  • Jaeda Laurez

i love it! simple, cute, and her smile lights it all up.

    • marlie

A simple silhouette does wonders for her body type/figure, unlike some of the too-fussy stuff she often wears.

  • Clueless_Jock

  • Big Bear

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Fabulous times ten. She looks appropriate, in style and so, so pretty. Well done, young lady.

  • Sarah

Very cute! I want dress. (I will personally eschew booties for black suede boots that go all the way up).

  • Akemi

Love this! I want that dress.

  • tallgirl1204

Where’s the WERQ? Because she is lovely.

  • rag254

That, my friends, is a $50 dress. WERQ.

    • mmebam

What? You mean I have half a chance of actually scoring a fashion on the site, if I want to?

    • lunchcoma

Wait. What? My first thought was that I want one of my own, and now I learn I can actually have it? Oh, happy day.

  • Sue_Asponte

I got one! The link above is to the Australian site. If you’re in the US, navigate around to the US site. Free shipping and it’s only $46. I’m excited!

    • Link fixed : )

    • charlotte

      I ordered it, too!

    • Bridget Smith

I often have a problem with ASOS, but I think I have to try this one anyway!

  • E2_Remote

Not only are her oufit, hair, and makeup perfect, she actually looks happy to be there. Why can’t all our celebrities bring us smiles like that? And bravo on picking such a cute dress in a flattering length. So often we see dresses/skirts here that could have been killer if they’d just been a tad shorter or longer. This makes me want to sing Take Me Out to the Ballpark cuz she just hit a homer.

  • filmcricket

Cute dress, great make-up, fabulous face. LOATHE the booties. She’s been looking great in general lately, and was jaw-droppingly awesome on DWTS.

  • Glam Dixie

All I can think is how much better this would look without those booties chopping her leg line up like that. Her feet look like hooves. They could’ve worked if she had worn tights.

  • lynnlee

  • boweryboy

I think the booties work in this case because it’s a “skater” dress, and the booties resemble ice skates. She looks good, really good. Huzzahs for you gurl!

    • charlotte

I thought “Who would go skating in a dress?”, but of course it refers to figure skating. I’m sick and my brain doesn’t seem to be working!

      • boweryboy

LOL. I hope you feel better soon.

        • charlotte

  • marlie

She looks cute. And Kudos to her for winning the most recent season of Dancing With the Stars!

  • elemspbee

  • alyce1213

Adorable is right. Good, semi-opaque black tights would have made the look more finished and put it over the top.

  • decormaven

Her hair and makeup are great! Love that radiant smile.

  • HM3

This is youthful, sexy, and flattering to her figure. Win!

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I love that dress. In fact if it were longer, I would wear it myself. Amber looks pretty great here.

  • nannypoo

She looks great. I love the dress and I don’t mind the shoes but I think it would be better with tights. Pretty makeup and hair too. Such a beautiful and talented woman.

  • housefulofboys

She looks great! Doesn’t hurt that she’s probably in the best shape of her life after a season on Dancing with the Stars…and winning!

  • LeelaST

So cute and elegant at the same time – and it looks effortless!

  • Fabulous! And I love the booties.

  • MrsDanvers

I JUST BOUGHT THAT DRESS! For like $48. I’m gonna wear it to a work party on Thursday YAY

  • msdamselfly

Looks fantastic. Although a tad short

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

    This is fantastic!

  • rkdgal

Hooray! Perhaps her well-deserved DWTS win convinced her she can wear all sorts of garments and rock them!

  • Nika E

  • Imasewsure

I do not like that hairstyle on anyone (except maybe Cinderella) but she looks adorable.

  • formerlyAnon

WHY do those boots work for her when I haven’t liked any booties anyone’s worn with a dress on these pages in at least 6 weeks?????

    And yes, she looks AMAZING.

    • BrooklynBomber

Good point. I don’t know if I’d say I actually like these (I kind of deplore booties with dresses), but she’s making them work.

  • poggi

I love it too. She looks young and beautiful and happy.

  • Trickytrisha

How inspiring this young woman is! She’s never less than adorable, but here she’s gone beyond it.

  • BrooklynBomber

Okay, I admit I’ve never watched Glee, so I don’t know all the actors, but she is so freakin’ cute. I just can’t decide if I like the hair bun.

  • bxbourgie

And I will be purchasing that dress IMMEDIATELY! I love when celebs wear things I can afford!!

  • Aidan B

    Totally adorable!!

  • jw_ny

The dress is perfect on her. I can’t say I like her bun or the booties in this case, but that’s just a personal preference.

  • Rand Ortega

GORGE! The braids are giving me LIFE!

  • ojosazules

    She looks adorable and happy.

  • Jacob Bowen

I LOVE the hair and braids, but I think the booties are not flattering on her legs. I still think it’s SUPER cute though!

  • Tanya Wade

    This dress is perfection. A++.

  • Meg0GayGuys6

Um can we talk about how this dress is $46?! I’ll take one please!

  • J. Preposterice

I never would’ve thought she could work a skater dress like that! They tend to look weird on hourglassy ladies, IME. But damn.

  • Fred Vaughn

HOMEGIRL!!! It’s better than I thought.

  • stubbornthoughts

She looks so grown up! Love the bun on her.

  • paginatrix

I don’t think I’ll ever like the look of booties with a dress — almost always gives the poor girl the stumpies (even the long, willowy girls).
But man, is that dress ever great on her. She knows it, too. Just adorable.

  • Erica_Vuitton

Girl you WERQ that DWTS toned body!! Hair, make-up, dress, shoes, everything here is perfection!!!

  • GURL.

  • littlemac8

    She looks fabulous!
